NRSC Eats Humble Pie, Returns To O'Donnell On Bent Knee

Gee, that didn't take long, did it? The NRSC saw their credibility disappearing like a helium balloon on a breezy day, and decided they'd better go after it. Now, will they actually catch it again? Well, how often does the kid really retrieve his shiny metallic balloon?

Anyway:

The National Republican Senatorial Committee will support the O’Donnell campaign, according to a statement that was just released by its chairman, Sen. John Cornyn.

“I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today,” Cornyn said in the statement.

More, from
Politico:

Support for Christine O'Donnell appears to have emerged this morning as a kind of grassroots litmus test, and the Establishment is scrambling to pass it.

Mitt Romney just endorsed her, saying, "Now is the time for Republicans to rally behind their nominee, Christine O'Donnell. She ran an impressive campaign. I believe it is important we support her so we can win back the U.S. Senate this fall."

Coryn and Romney, the last bastions of the Republican establishment, had better work double-time to undo the damage they did, before their establishment becomes non-existent...
