2013: Less Pizza, And More Evil Bureaucrats

Why  is Barack Obama so absolutely adamant about raising taxes on the wealthy, despite the negligible effect it will have on the debt/deficit and the possible negative effect it will have on the economy as a whole?

P.J. O'Rourke (whose Parliament of Whores will turn the truest believer into a hardcore cynic) isolates better than anyone the odd quirk in Obama's economic illiteracy that makes tax hikes almost a matter of religious faith:

...But the worst thing that you've done internationally is what you've done domestically. You sent a message to America in your re-election campaign. Therefore you sent a message to the world. The message is that we live in a zero-sum universe.

There is a fixed amount of good things. Life is a pizza. If some people have too many slices, other people have to eat the pizza box. You had no answer to Mitt Romney's argument for more pizza parlors baking more pizzas. The solution to our problems, you said, is redistribution of the pizzas we've got—with low-cost, government-subsidized pepperoni somehow materializing as the result of higher taxes on pizza-parlor owners.

In this zero-sum universe there is only so much happiness. The idea is that if we wipe the smile off the faces of people with prosperous businesses and successful careers, that will make the rest of us grin.

I suppose, in a nation of people who no longer wish to work and no longer see production as a moral value, the race to get the biggest share of what's left (since precious little can be created, under the Obama regime) is the only sporting event left in town.

And of course, those who actually decide who gets what (call them the bureaucratic class, or perhaps the media/political class) become the most powerful people in the universe.  Which suits them just fine, as that's been the endgame all along.  They have spent their whole live advocating the position that they are better able to control your lives than you are.  Hence their need to take more of your money, control your health care costs, determine what car you drive, and decide where your children should go to school, what they should learn, and what they should eat.  All while demanding you disarm yourself - and shut up, lest you be labeled a racist.

(Via  CBC)

So how's that working out?  Michael Goodwin, in the New York Post:

Americans are in a panic. Crowds throng gun shows and shops. Blue-chip companies fast-forward next year’s dividends to this year. Investors cash out profits, estate planners report a rush of people trying to beat higher inheritance taxes and lobbyists line up for favors.

What these people share is the goal of avoiding or benefiting from government actions. More than ever, the “invisible hand” of free markets is being replaced by the visible hand of bureaucrats. The political class is the new master of the universe....

Each day brings plans for added regulations and new ways to rob Peter to pay Paul....The combination creates a huge cloud hanging over every family and business...

The certain result will be an economic pie that doesn’t grow fast enough, which will lead to new demands for more redistribution under the guise of “fairness.” Always, the government redistributes by taking the first bite for itself.

Claimed he was only a mere bureaucrat...

O'Rourke, no shrinking violet or kisser of the political ass, calls a thing what it is:

The evil of zero-sum thinking and redistributive politics has nothing to do with which things are taken or to whom those things are given or what the sum of zero things is supposed to be. The evil lies in denying people the right, the means, and, indeed, the duty to make more things.

Or maybe you just find it easier to pursue a political policy of sneaking in America's back door, swiping a laptop, going around to the front door, ringing the bell, and announcing, "Free computer equipment for all school children!"

Sounds insane,  But we voted for it.  And boy oh boy, are we gonna get it.

Gonna be a hell of a 2013...

To End Gun Violence, Try "Stop And Frisk"

Liberals hate it, because....it works.  From an editorial in today's New York Post:

As of yesterday, there were 413 homicides in the city this year, according to police.

There were 511 at this time last year.

That marks a 19 percent plunge in a single year — a remarkable feat.

As Kelly noted in October, “If we had Chicago’s murder rate, [New York’s homicide] total would be 1,224. If we had Philadelphia’s, 1,483; at Baltimore’s rate, 2,338 — and at Detroit’s, 3,635.”

Kelly rightly attributes his success to aggressive law-enforcement tactics, including stop-and-frisk, the routine searching of people the police suspect are carrying illegal weapons or other contraband.

Chicago and Detroit don’t perform stop-and-frisks; Philadelphia used the tactic, but its hands have been cuffed by the courts this year — to predictable results.

The twin priorities sought by Bloomberg and executed by Kelly — locking up criminals and restricting the flow of weapons — have ushered in a stunningly low homicide rate compared to other big cities.

They are simple law-and-order policies, but the results are nearly miraculous.

It's not about guns.  It's about criminals possessing guns.  New York understands this.  So do liberals, who want gun control -it is, after all, the key step to complete civilian population control  - and are willing to let thousands of innocent inner-city and African-American youths die brutally in order to get it.  The Post, again:

At the moment, the NYPD faces three (yep: three) major lawsuits and a mountain of legislation all aimed at deep-sixing its wildly successful stop-and-frisk program.

What the critics seek, in a nutshell, is control of the NYPD itself.

And even if the council or judges don’t appoint themselves police commissioner, there’s still trouble ahead: The winner of next year’s mayoral race might well order cops to stand down — ceding the streets to the thugs.

New York’s leftist judges also see it as their mission to undermine cops.

Just recently, for example, the state’s top court refused even to hear an appeal of rulings that let two teens, in separate cases, walk free — after being caught red-handed with loaded guns.

Cops had watched the teens, Darryl Craig and Jaquan Morant — then both 14 — acting suspiciously. After questioning the two, officers found loaded handguns on them.

Both were convicted, but appellate panels overturned the convictions, claiming the cops lacked “reasonable suspicion” to search them.

One judge said an arresting officer acted on “a mere hunch.” Again, the searches in both cases turned up loaded handguns.

If that isn’t proof the cops took wise action, we don’t know what is.

Truth is, the officers deserve medals — and the kids, time up the river: Three months after Craig’s arrest, he was charged (surprise!) with attempted murder, after shooting someone.

Sigh.

It's about control.  If they disarm Americans, and free the criminals, they make the majority dependent upon the government for their very lives.

Ahhhhhh.....

What will happen if the Left succeeds in halting the "Stop and Frisk" operation?  Check this out, from 2007 - "Guns don't kill people; liberal policies kill people":

Weapons seizures plummet on Turnpike

Uproar on racial profiling spurred State Police shift

Cops and politicians call Interstate 95 the "Iron Pipeline" because it is a popular route for criminals smuggling firearms from the South into Newark and other Northeastern cities where gun violence abounds. A big link in that pipeline is the New Jersey Turnpike, where the State Police used to seize scores of guns every year.

But they don't anymore.

Gun arrests and gun seizures have plummeted on the Turnpike in the last decade, according to data provided by the State Police in response to a request under the Open Public Records Act...

The decline comes at a time when homicides and shootings are on the rise in Newark, the state's largest city, where cops are taking record numbers of firearms off the streets. When those illegal guns are traced to their original sale, the most common source states turn out to be along the I-95 corridor in the South.

For many years, troopers made a priority of pulling over Turnpike motorists and searching their cars in hopes of catching drug traffickers and gun runners. That effort was abandoned in 1999, after a state investigation found troopers were stopping drivers based on their skin color, a civil rights abuse known as racial profiling. Under pressure from the U.S. Department of Justice, the State Police were put under the oversight of federal monitors and forced to change its patrol tactics....

The Left, and the Democratic party, is waging war on black America. Is there a Republican in the room with enough guts to say it?

Lisa Jackson Too "Dirty Jersey"; Loses Job Running EPA...

And with good riddance.  She's a real-life moral pollutant

Lisa Jackson's forthcoming departure from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is a major victory for transparency and accountability in Washington.

After years of whispers that EPA officials frequently used private email addresses, fake names and coded messages to circumvent the Freedom of Information Act, or FOIA, Jackson admitted recently to using "Richard Windsor" as her chosen nom de plume on a government email account....

The EPA inspector general opened an investigation into the matter because it is against federal law to use nonofficial or secret email addresses to conduct official business.

...The use of private or secret emails enables high government muckety-mucks like Jackson to hide things about which they don't want the rest of us to know...

Lisa has been a filthy cheat and a political stooge from her days crawling up the rungs of power in Dirty Jersey, as any long-time reader of this blog knows. A little bit of history on our little EnvironmentalSult:

As head of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, she was notorious for ignoring the facts and bending whichever way monied pressure groups and influential state pols asked her to.

Best example is the occasion she supported then-Governor Corzine's attempt to change the makeup of New Jersey's Fish & Game Council from six sportsmen and three farmers -- who represented various geographical regions of the state -- to seven political appointees recommended by the Governor. Corzine and Jackson failed at this little coup, but these two professional pols formed quite a bond with each other (more on that later).

And what happened when the Council sanctioned a bear hunt in New Jersey to quell their encroachment upon suburban neighborhoods? Governor Corzine vocally disapproved - bear's lives being more important than his constituents - and Lisa Jackson used her authority to cancel the hunt over widespread objection. When it comes down to a council of civilian experts, or one dumb politician, Lisa Jackson will side with a dummy who can help her every single time, and damn the consequences to the rest of us.

So Lisa and Dirty Jon Corzine got pretty tight, and in October of 2008, he named her to be his Chief of Staff, a nice political plum in a Soprano State dominated by payoffs, bribes, and extortion...

...experience which appealed to a newly-inaugurated Barack Hussein Obama, who then hired Lisa Jackson to head his Environmental Protection Agency. A bright flashing warning sign of what we should have seen coming from both the Obama Administration and the EPA, had anyone taken their heads out of their asses to notice.

How bad of a job did Jackson do in New Jersey?  In an akward political oddity, one of the very first actions the EPA took once she was seated was to...criticize the sh*t job done by the New Jersey DEP, under one...Lisa Jackson.

Really (same link as above):

Federal officials are criticizing how New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection operates, a report in the Record said.

An Environmental Protection Agency audit found "significant shortcomings," especially in the DEP's division that handles contaminated site cleanups. The EPA said the site remediation program lacks oversight, and the DEP takes contractors hired by polluters at their word without checking.

The report also found the agency has failed to take corrective action to fix problems uncovered in a 2005 audit.

....Bill Wolfe, a former DEP analyst who now is director of the New Jersey chapter of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, says This audit is an indictment of DEP management for failing fundamental tests of competence.”

So when Barack Obama looked at her resume, what did he learn about Lisa's management style?
-no concern with oversight
-contracts handed out like political favors ( as the EPA report above seems to suggest)
-refusal to take corrective action
-willingness to overt established authority in order to fulfill political objectives

Just...plain...dirty

Alas, to our president, these are features, not bugs.   Need one more?

The DEP is a state agency that lets the big guys slide while picking on the little folks. It needs to be cleaned out.

Sheeet....when President Obama first met Lisa Jackson, his eyes must have lit up like an old lady's at a slot machine when the triple-7's roll in...

But Dirty Jersey poisons all it touches, and even the Divine Protection of The One was not enough to hide Lisa's filth from the public eye.  She's gone now, but like radioactive decay, her offensive policies and persona will continue to damage our government, our economy, and our society.  The half-life of liberal filth like Lisa Jackson - aided by a willfully blind media and a party that believes the ends always justify the means - is virtually eternal.

It's Come To This: Government Persecution For Selling CANDY Cigarettes

Over-reach much?

Via Yahoo News, which would not be reporting the action unless it supported the action:

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Owners of an old-school soda shop in St. Paul, Minn., are being warned to kick the habit and stop stocking novelty candy cigarettes.

City inspectors threatened a misdemeanor citation and $500 fine if Lynden's soda fountain is caught selling the fake smokes again. The Star Tribune reported Wednesday that the offering violated an ordinance barring the sale of candy smokes and cartoon character lighters.

A city spokesman says the warning came after inspectors received and looked into a complaint about the presence of the tobacco-themed products. The ordinance was enacted to discourage youngsters from picking up a real smoking habit.

Shop owner Tobi Lynden says the white candy sticks with the red tips were her best-selling candy item but she pulled them to avoid running afoul of the ordinance.

Where do I begin with this sh*t?

As a kid, I bought candy cigarettes.  Or perhaps I should say my parents bought them for me.  I liked the ones that Tobi sold - the sugar-sticks with the "flame" tips - but I also chewed the gum cigarettes (Lucky Lights were my personal fave), which were actually more fun, since before you took the wrapper off you could blow through them, pushing out some of the sugar coating, and creating a realistic puff of "smoke".

And guess once?  I never took up smoking.  Tried it once or twice, never saw the thrill.  So all of those candy cigarettes affected my adult life choices by...0%.

Just like playing with guns never led me to shoot anybody.  But when's the last time you've seen a kid with a toy gun?

At the Jersey Shore last summer, I walked into a taffy shop that sold both typed of candy cigarettes.  Elated, I bought a bunch, and handed them out at work.  The older folks got a kick out of them, having not seen them in years, and the young people loved them, playing and preening with them before eating them.

Virtually none of these people smoke, by the way.

But despite the complete lack of causality between's Tobi Lynden's candy cigarettes and the actual smoking of tobacco cigarettes, the government couldn't wait to threaten to run her out of business.  And forced her to take a step in that direction regardless, as she was bullied into removing her best-selling product from the shelves.

And why do I believe that, should we all go off the fiscal cliff on Tuesday, the St. Paul health inspectors will still have their jobs, while Ms. Lyden's taxes will skyrocket in order to keep them there?

This nation has gone insane.  Bouncing off the boulevard, through the guardrail, off the cliffs and rolling down the hills into the valley.

And by the way...Tobi looks Asian to me.  When are the Asian-Americans going to rise up in this country?  They are openly discriminated against in higher education, persecuted in business, and are not afforded the proportional racial representation in government afforded to blacks in gerry-mandered districts.

Time to fight back.  Once they can come for your candy cigarettes....they can take anything.

Money Honey Maria Bartiromo Likes It Rough; Senator Cardin Does Not

...he's used to the mainstream media lying prone in the female portion of the missionary position.  CNBC's Maria Bartiromo doesn't play that; she's gonna control the action from the top.

Democratic stooge - sorry, I mean Senator - Ben Cardin (D-MD) wasn't ready for what Maria was bringing:

“Are you guys incompetent, or what?” Bartiromo pointedly asked the senator, emphasizing that both his party and the opposing Republicans repeatedly accuse each other of not having a “balanced approach” in negotiation to avoid the so-called “cliff.”

She continued to berate Cardin: “If you can’t do what the American people pay you to do, why don’t you just step aside and put somebody in there who can actually get a deal done?”

At this point, Bartiromo began shaking her head and laughing as Cardin insisted that the Democrats have long been ready to move forward with a deal. Unconvinced and clearly agitated, Bartiromo pointed at the screen and directly confronted Cardin about whether he’d be willing to consider tax code reform as a means to obtaining new revenue.

The senator’s response essentially boiled down to “No,” and so Bartiromo went off on him again: “You’re talking about $1.2 trillion in revenue, but you’re not prepared to put anything on the table. People are not stupid!”

Cardin then replied that “the easiest way to get the revenues is to [raise taxes on] the highest income brackets,” Bartiromo had enough and ended the conversation: “That’s all you want to do. That’s it. It’s your way or the highway. Raise the rates on the rich. No other way. Your way or the highway. That’s it. That’s where we are. Thank you, Senator.”

No, thank you, Maria, for reminding America what a journalist is supposed to do: Harangue the powerful on behalf of the powerless. Won't get you a job in the Obama Administration, but it will make you a hero to the American people.  And may, eventually, bring respect back to the word "journalism".

Don't believe me?  Watch the video, and listen to that crowd going wild at the end of her segment...

Did you know the late great Joey Ramone, of all people, wrote a song in homage to our Money Honey? Apparently, the punk rocker was a smarter man that Senator Cardin:

What's happening on Wall Street?
What's happening at The Stock Exchange?
I want to know

I watch her at the big board every single day
While she's reporting, you best stay out of her way
I watch her everyday
I watch her every night
She's really outta sight

Maria Bartiromo
Maria Bartiromo
Maria Bartiromo

Joey knew you couldn't mess with Maria.  Senator Cardin, though, thought he could get away with his usual line of liberal nonsense he feeds to the MSM daily.  After all, who is this Bartiromo chick, anyway?  Just a skirt trying to get ahead, no doubt, and Senator Ben probably thought he was doing her a favor just by appearing on her cute little program...

Big mistake, Ben, big mistake.

I'd love to put her on the White House beat, if just for a while....could Obama get away with ignoring her without being called sexist?  And how would he deal with Maria's pointed questions?

The imagination reels...

Christmas 2012: Liberal Scrooges, Grinches, and Bad Santas...

Oh, those wacky liberals and their unique ways of celebrating one of the most holiest days of the year!

For filmmaker and closet 1%-er Michael Moore, it's a time to remind Americans how much they suck:

We are a country whose leaders officially sanction and carry out acts of violence as a means to often an immoral end. We invade countries who didn't attack us. We're currently using drones in a half-dozen countries, often killing civilians.

This probably shouldn't come as a surprise to us as we are a nation founded on genocide and built on the backs of slaves. We slaughtered 600,000 of each other in a civil war. We "tamed the Wild West with a six-shooter," and we rape and beat and kill our women without mercy and at a staggering rate: every three hours a women is murdered in the USA (half the time by an ex or a current); every three minutes a woman is raped in the USA; and every 15 seconds a woman is beaten in the USA.

We belong to an illustrious group of nations that still have the death penalty (North Korea, Saudi Arabia, China, Iran). We think nothing of letting tens of thousands of our own citizens die each year because they are uninsured and thus don't see a doctor until it's too late.

Why do we do this? One theory is simply "because we can." There is a level of arrogance in the otherwise friendly American spirit, conning ourselves into believing there's something exceptional about us...We're biggest and the bestest at everything and we demand and take what we want.

And sometimes we have to be violent m*****f*****s to get it...

Next we have British jackass Piers Morgan - another America-hater who tolerates us for the fat paycheck it provides him - used Christmas as the opportunity to demand that God re-write the Bible to condone homosexuality: Via Twitchy:

The all-knowing Piers Morgan, in his infinite wisdom, declared tonight to his guest Pastor Rick Warren that it is time for an “amendment to the Bible” to cover gay marriage.

Ah....I am not sure God's laws are a "living document", meant to be altered to suit current fashion the way your view the Constitution   As a matter of fact, you'd need more than an "amendment" to insert gay marriage into the bible; you'd need an entire re-write and re-edit.  You'd need to get rid of that whole Sodom and Gomorrah section, for instance, and that phrase "an abomination".

Kind of gives away the game a bit, doesn't it, Piers?  Liberals would really like to remake religion in their own image - or at least in the image of the Cult of Global Warming.

And then there's CNN's (again with this network?) Roland Martin - an ignorant racist who decided that Christmas Eve was the time to demand that the grieving parents of Newtown, Connecticut display the bodies of their dead children like driveway Santas in order to advance the liberal agenda:

What if one of the mothers or fathers of the Newtown 20 demanded that police give them a crime scene photo of their child and they chose to show it to the world?
For too many of us, we hear about gun violence, we talk about it, we mourn it, but to be honest, we’ve never witnessed it.

What a freaking ghoul.  And CNN wonders whiles viewers stay away in droves....

How a liberal sees "Saint Nick"...

Why all this liberal anger and hatred towards Christmas, and while their constant attempts to sully it, deface it, and disfigure it?

Maybe it's just anger that we Americans are just too stupid to realize who the true Messiah is...a man born in 1961, in mud hut somewhere in Kenya....

7 Reasons Why This Jew Loves Christmas

You don't need to feel awkward wishing this Jew a "Merry Christmas"...I am totally down with this time of year!  Let me count the ways:

1) Just about everything is closed early today and all day tomorrow.  Which means I have absolutely zero guilt about parking myself in front of the TV for a 48 hour marathon of whatever crap it chooses to serve up.  Sure, I'd like to fix that petulant toilet, but the hardware store is closed, you know...

2) Speaking of TV - Christmas specials are awesome.  Happy endings, holiday magic, emotional warmth, and the true alchemy of the 21st century:  Turning cynicism into belief & ironic disconnection into joyful togetherness.  Only at Christmas, alas...

3) All the enjoyment of my neighbors brightly-lit, beautifully-arranged Christmas displays, without having to pay for the electricity.

4) The weather outside - at least in New Jersey - is expected to be frightful tonight, on Christmas Eve.  Fortunately I'll be home, roasting my proverbial chestnuts by an open fire...

5)  Gingerbread cookies.  Preferably in the shape of men (or women).  So sweet...

6)  Hot girls in Santa outfits.  Yum.

7)  The overall feeling of good will and camaraderie that changes people into the human beings we wish to be, as opposed to the inhuman beings we often are.  Even if only for a few days.  It's a beautiful thing.  Especially in a big city (like New York - there's no place better to be, if you're not home), where the warmth is palpable, regardless of the weather.  I understand why so many of the aforementioned Christmas specials pine away for that "Christmas feeling all year long".  If it were only possible...then we'd have heaven on earth, as they say...

So if you please, this Jews says " Merry Christmas to All ! "  For two days, your Savior is my savior - forcing me to kick up my feet, relax, and enjoy the season, and perhaps gain some perspective heading into what promises to be a tumultuous new year.

You know...he seems like a pretty good guy, after all...

Barack Obama Is...Judge Smails?

From Caddyshack:

Spaulding Smails: "I want a hamburger, no a cheeseburger. I want a hotdog. I want a milkshake. I want potato chips--"
Judge Smails: "You'll get nothing and like it!"

And while John Boehner was only asking for a "fair shake" for the American taxpayer, well...it seems as if President Obama wanted to emulate the president of the Bushwood Country Club, while playing at the course known as the Fiscal Cliff:

 Powerline:

Mr. Obama repeatedly lost patience with the speaker as negotiations faltered. In an Oval Office meeting last week, he told Mr. Boehner that if the sides didn’t reach agreement, he would use his inaugural address and his State of the Union speech to tell the country the Republicans were at fault.

At one point, according to notes taken by a participant, Mr. Boehner told the president, “I put $800 billion [in tax revenue] on the table. What do I get for that?”

“You get nothing,” the president said. “I get that for free.”

Smails winds up being the big loser in Caddyshack, losing an $80K bet to Rodney Dangerfield and perhaps losing the entirety of Bushwood (as Dangerfield threatens to tear it down so as to build condos).

Obama could lost the entirety of the United States.

At least Judge Smails seemed to care...

The UN Takes Action In The Middle East!

The slaughter in Syria, the chaos in Libya, the crisis in Egypt....all this finally seems to have moved the UN to take some significant action in the region.

Or maybe it was this one horrific event:

Syrian government warplanes have been bombing the Palestinian Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria recent days, killing (in the words of a leading Palestinian) “far more Palestinians than Israel killed during the recent conflict in Gaza”. Syrian warplanes also fired into a mosque used by Palestinians in Syria. Thousands of Palestinians have been forced to flee for their lives this week from Syrian forces.

So how did the UN respond?

By passing nine resolutions condemning...Israel.  In one day (Tuesday 12/18).  Raising the 2012 total  of nation-specific resolutions involving Israel to 22.  Out of a worldwide total of...26.

All nine resolutions are detailed at the link; many of them are laughable.  Commentary singles out one for particular mockery:

One resolution, for instance, slams Israel’s 1981 annexation of the “occupied Syrian Golan” and demands that Israel “rescind forthwith its decision.” Given what’s happening across the border in Syria, where the ongoing civil war has killed over 44,000 people and created over 500,000 refugees, I suspect most of the 20,000 Syrian Druze on the Golan are thanking their lucky stars to be living safely under Israel’s “occupation.” But you needn’t take my word for it: According to the Hebrew daily Maariv, whose report was subsequently picked up the Winnipeg Jewish Review, Israeli government statistics show that the number of Golan Druze applying for Israeli citizenship (for which the annexation made them eligible) has risen by hundreds of percent since the Syrian civil war erupted, after 30 years in which very few did so.

“More and more people comprehend that this [Israel] is a well-managed country and it’s possible to live and raise children here,” one Druze who acquired Israeli citizenship explained. “In Syria there is mass murder, and if [the Druze are] under Syrian control they would likely be turned into the victims of these atrocities. People see murdered children and refugees fleeing to Jordan and Turkey, lacking everything, and ask themselves: Where do I want to raise my children. The answer is clear–in Israel and not Syria.”

Yeah, but in Israel, they'd be living as free men and women, as opposed to being ruled by a despot.  And who rules the UN, after all?

Just see whom they condemn, and who gets a pass...

Is Hillary Clinton Taking Hints From Atlas Shrugged?

We recall perhaps the most game-changing event within Atlas Shrugged, when Dagney's replacement at Taggart Transcontinental,  one Clifton Locey, gave the suicidal order for the Comet to go through the Taggart Tunnel with a coal-burning engine, out of fear of political repercussions?

Rep. Chalmers sent a telegram directly to James Taggart. It ran thus:

“Am held up on the Comet at Winston, Colorado, due to the incompetence of your men, who refuse to give me an engine. Have meeting in California of vital national importance. If you don't move my train at once, I'll let you guess the consequences.”

Taggart called Locey and harangued him, saying that at least when Dagny ran the operating department, James Taggart didn't have to worry about important passengers telegraphing him in the middle of the night.

Locey went to the New York City Terminal, rushed around the offices to give the impression of activity, and then sent a peremptory message to Mr. Mitchum, which read in part:

“Give an engine to Mr. Chalmers at once. Send the Comet through safely and without unnecessary delay. If you are unable to perform your duties, I shall hold you responsible before the Unification Board.

And when every person on the Comet was killed, by either fumes or by the collision with an oncoming train or the collapse of the tunnel?

Dagny Taggart come back to New York to take immediate charge. Clifton Locey had fled New York and pleaded a debilitating medical condition,

Which brings us to the Benghazi hearings, from which Ms. Clinton - allegedly in charge of the Department of State -seems to have fled, claiming a debilitating medical condition:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was set to face a grilling from Congress this week over the terrorist attacks in Benghazi...

America’s top diplomat was to provide her first public answers regarding the murder of US Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Now that won’t happen.

Clinton’s story beggars belief: While traveling in Europe, she contracted a stomach virus . . . which made her dehydrated . . . which made her faint at home . . . which caused her to fall and hit her head . . . which gave her a nasty concussion.

So Clinton’s deputies will appear in her stead...

You see, for these guys, Atlas Shrugged isn't a cautionary tale.  It's a freaking instruction manual...

...but I am sure they'll do a fine job managing my health care...

Y-12. America's foremost nuclear weapons facility. Considered a virtually impenetrable installation; known as the "Fort Knox of Uranium".

Penetrated by three anti-nuke protesters - one of whom is an aging nun - and defaced back in late July, the failure of the plant's highly-touted security led to multiple federal investigations and two highly-charged congressional hearings.

Since then, the NNSA (National Nuclear Security Administration) have claimed a laundry list of improvements in security at the Y-12 site.

Sigh.  Just remember...how do you know when a government official is lying?  His or her lips are moving:

Four and a half months after Plowshares protesters broke into the Y-12 nuclear weapons plant, it appears that government contractors have yet to repair the fence where the initial entry took place.

The tie and the string was part of the handiwork of the protesters, trying to hide the cut fence in order to delay pursuit

Mind-boggling incompetence, stunning lies, and reckless endangerment.  Just another day in America under Barack Obama and the Democrats...

Can someone tell President Amnesty that he can hire two illegals and they'll have this repaired in twenty minutes?

I'll close with something I almost never do...quote approvingly from a "peace activist:"

Ralph Hutchison, coordinator of the peace alliance, said the lingering hole in the fence is significant for multiple reasons.

"First, of course, we should not have large holes in the fence that establishes the first line of defense for our nuclear weapons facilities," Hutchison said in a statement. A greater concern is how the NNSA and B&W Y-12 are doing their job at the site, he said.

"Since July 28, the public has heard assurances from the Secretary of Energy (Steven Chu) on down that the Plowshares action was a wake-up call, that security lapses were intolerable, that attention to detail was paramount, that all steps were being taken to address the lessons learned -- and yet a hole in the fence had not been discovered, nor had it been repaired," Hutchison said. "There is no excuse."

Hey Hutch - who'd you vote for in November, anyway? Oh, right...the guy who has an excuse for everything...

Just relax, Hutch 'ol boy, and just tell yourself..."It's all George Bush's fault"!

Then cover your ears, and wait for the loud boom...

Gee, Where Do You Think Yahoo Stands On Gun Control?

All liberal bias, all the fucking time:

While I really wanted to focus on the gun issue, the first and last items are a hoot.  You want to see someone embrace a position they once criticized?

Boehner says it’s vital to limit the number of folks hit by any tax hike; thus, he drew a line at those making more than $1 million, announcing a “Plan B” yesterday to do that if a deal can’t be reached in time.

But let’s be honest: It’s Obama & Co. driving this bus, insisting on tax hikes.

Two years ago, the prez admitted the damage hikes would inflict and agreed to a two-year tax freeze: “Allowing taxes to go up,” he said, “could cost our economy.”

And yet he's demanding a $1.2 trillion dollar tax hike.  And according to Yahoo, that's not a contradiction. Or not one you should know about...

And how's that "rising star" Cory Booker really doing?  Well, there's a reason he's turning his eyes towards the Senate - his chances for earning the governorship of New Jersey look "slimmer" every day:

New Jersey governor Chris Christie has accepted the endorsement of the Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA), according to an announcement from the Republican's reelection campaign. The organization "is one of the largest unions in the state, representing over 20,000 laborers across New Jersey primarily within the construction and manufacturing trades."

...Raymond M. Pocino, the vice president of the union, says: "We can look back on the past three years and be proud of the work Chris Christie has done to make New Jersey a stronger place for families and businesses, just as we can look ahead at the next five years and know that Chris Christie is the person best equipped to address problems and create opportunities. He has demonstrated uncommon leadership as well as a keen understanding of our union and its members. He has earned our support."

A Democrat who can't get union support in a deep-blue state is a "rising star"?  That's called "Yahoo logic".  When Tim Scott  - a black Republican from the deep South - was appointed by an Indian-American Republican governor to become her state's next Senator, Yahoo gave us this, three paragraphs in:

But his departure from the House, coupled with the defeat of fellow conservative Allen West of Florida on November 6, will leave the Republicans without a black representative in the lower chamber.

Not rising stars...but problems, apparently, for the Republican Party

Speechless, I am.  Thankfully, we have one honest news outlet left - the New York Post:

Scott’s appointment also holds an interesting lesson about contemporary politics.

Haley and Louisiana’s Bobby Jindal are the nation’s only Indian-American governors. Both happen to be Republican, as are two Latinos in the Senate, with Texas’ Ted Cruz joining Florida’s Marco Rubio.

Democrats talk diversity.

Republicans deliver.

The Newtown Massacre: Blame The Jews?

Least surprising part of this slander:  It is coming out of Iran, via there state-run Press TV.

Most surprising fact: It appears to be emanating from a man named Michael Harris, who ran in the GOP gubernatorial primary in Arizona (and lost) back in 2006.

“I want to remind you of the Norway shooting of Mr. Breivik, which followed a week after Norway had agreed to support Palestine,” Harris told Press TV. “Now you look at Israel just lost their bid to thwart Palestine from being recognized by the United Nations and now here we go, here is a revenge killing in the U.S., sponsored by Israel, that killed all these innocent children and that is something that Israelis do very, very well.

“They target the innocent, they target the children, they target women and they avoid the issue because they are angry. They did not get their way and now Palestine has standing at the UN and Israel is going to be subject to the international criminal courts and their leadership is going to be taken to task.”

Press TV followed up by running a column written by Gordon Duff, the senior editor at Veterans Today, summarizing Harris's points and pointing to the Republican Jewish Coalition's opposition to former Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.) as secretary of Defense as further proof of an Israeli conspiracy....

More from Press TV:

Harris, citing the flood of inconsistencies in the “cover story,” pointed out the following, “The facts are now becoming obvious. This is another case where Israel has chosen violence and terrorism where their bullying in Washington has failed. Israel believes the US “threw them under the bus,” particularly after the recent Gaza war, allowing Israel to be humiliated in the United Nations. Their response was to stage a terror attack, targeting America in the most hideous and brutal way possible, in fact, an Israeli “signature attack,” one that butchers children, one reminiscent of the attacks that killed so many children in Gaza?

Put this one down with the Jewish Shark attacks off of Egypt's Red Sea beaches as one the most ridiculous anti-Semetic slanders of the 21st century.

So far.  It looks like it's gonna be a long, long century...

And just when I thought I couldn't be any further estranged from my party...

Liberals Wake Up To Union Violence In Michigan...

From a piece by Colbert King, in the Washington Post:

The angry faces at Union rallies are eerily familiar. They resemble faces of protesters lining the street at the University of Alabama in 1956 as Autherine Lucy, the school's first black student, bravely tried to walk to class.
....Those were the faces I saw at a David Duke rally in Metairie, La., in 1991: sullen with resentment, wallowing in victimhood

Union members, as with their forerunners who showed up at the University of Alabama and Central High School, behave as they do because they have been culturally conditioned to believe they are entitled to do whatever they want, and to whomever they want, because they are the "real Americans," while all who don't think or look like them are not.

Whoops!  Sorry! As Steve Martin used to say in his famous SNL sketches, "Naaaaaaaaaah!"

Perhaps she is right. Perhaps I've been wrong to blindly follow the traditions and superstitions of the past centuries. Maybe we barbers should test those assumptions analytically. To experimentation and scientific method. Perhaps this scientific method could be extended to other fields of learning. Like natural sciences, art, arcitecture, navigation, perhaps I could lead the way to a new age. An age of rebirth. A Renissance!

Nah!

Colbert King wrote that column in March of 2010, about the Tea Party (I switched out the phrase with "union" twice in the excerpt above). To date, Mr. King sees nothing wrong with the actual physical violence committed by Left, but continues to project racism and hatred upon people who have demonstrated neither.

Time has proven Colbert wrong, as even the far-Left National Journal is forced to concede:

But  liberalism  - if it about anything - is about never having to say you're sorry.  Or admit you're wrong, either.

But actually, there's no need to.  The media will cover for you.  After all, they're into liberalism for the exact same reasons...

Sexy Santa Babes: Giving Me "Boughs of Holly"...

This is a non-denominational website, after all.  Or better yet, it is run by a Jew who loves Christmas.  And who is also quite fond of girls dressed in sexy, skimpy Santa suits.

And if we are going to do Hanukkah Hotties every year, then we have to at least present one night of..Santa Sweeties...

Should you not have a crackling fire, these smokin' babes will keep you warm all season long...all 12 of them, one for each day of Christmas!

Enjoy:
