From Obama's Speech in Berlin:

Listen to me, people of the Earth! Today I bring a New Order to your planet! One which shall last until the end of time!

Each of you... each man, each woman, each child - all will march proudly together in this New Order!

There is no longer a need for separate nations in this world, no need for petty squabbles between one group and another. All of you will work together, strive, produce, and sacrifice together - and all for a common goal!

It is useless for you to resist....

Oh...sorry! That's not Obama's "citizen of the world" bit from Berlin, it's General Zod's speech from Superman II !

Except Zod was more intelligent, and realistic, than his idealistic young doppleganger. Check out Zod's presidential campaign site here....

New Jersey's Toxins Seeping Into America...

This is the danger that New Jersey presents to the rest of the United States, when electing such mental midgets as Democrat Senator Robert Menendez:

E-Verify (the effective program to keep illegal aliens out of U.S. jobs) now is facing danger in the Senate, as well as the House .

The NumbersUSA Capitol Hill Team has been told that Sen. Menendez (D-N.J.) has put a "hold" on legislation to reauthorize the E-Verify workplace verification program. That means the Senate is barred from voting to keep it alive. Without a vote, E-Verify will die in November.

Our understanding is that Sen. Menendez is blocking the most effective tool against illegal immigration in order to get something else that he wants. He will allow an E-Verify vote if he is allowed to give hundreds of thousands of skilled American jobs permanently to hundreds of thousands of additional immigrants.

At a time when skilled Americans and students aspiring to those jobs are finding a depressed job market, Sen. Menendez is insisting on flooding their occupations with even more foreign workers. And if he doesn't get his way, he will take away the best tool that employers have to keep illegal foreign workers from taking jobs at every rung of the ladder, but especially at the lower-skilled job level.

This outrageously callous behavior toward American workers during a time of employment shrinkage is typical for Sen. Menendez. His lifetime immigration voting has earned him an F-minus in the category of protecting American workers from unfair foreign labor competition. And his overall career immigration-reduction grade (all categories) is an F.

When it comes to favoring foreign workers (and the greedy employers who use them to depress wages) over struggling American workers, Sen. Menendez has no shame....

And neither do New Jersey Democrats, who would rather vote for a dangerous, incompetent assclown like Menendez rather than even consider anyone with an (R) next to their name. Who needs Saudi-funded madrassas when New Jerseyians can export our own brand of lethal madness throughout the United States?

Obamanation - the final chapter (today)

I'll leave it to James Taranto to close my out my four-post rant against The Annointed One; as he ruminates about what bothered him so about the whole "Barack in Berlin" spectacle:

If Obama had waited six months and delivered this speech as president, we might have objected to some of its substance (if any). But we'd say it is bad form for him to give a speech overseas that his audience will interpret, as Spörl did, as coming from the next president of the United States. If he becomes president, Obama will have earned the right to speak on behalf of America.

We the people are entitled to have our say first.

One would think, based on the coverage, that his head has already been annointed with oil....methinks that upon his return, Jesus H. Christ himself would get rougher treatment at the hands of the media than Saint Barack....

Will the gullib-jews fall for Obama ?

Caroline Glick, editor over at the Jerusalem Post, comments on the emptiness of The Chosen One's rhetoric:

His repeated assertions of his commitment to Israel’s security were repeatedly contradicted by the policies he wishes to adopt if elected.

On the one hand he opposes permitting Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, but on the other hand, he insists that the way to make this happen is to sit down and talk to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who has made annihilating the Jewish state one of his main goals in office.

He says he understands Israel’s need to protect its citizens from terror attacks but then he says that Israel’s interests are served by strengthening the Palestinian terror groups by extending Palestinian sovereignty from Gaza to the West Bank. Gaza is ruled by jihadists from Hamas who are bankrolled, trained and armed by Iran.

How are Israel’s interests served by importing jihadist control to the outskirts of Tel-Aviv and to Jerusalem?

How, indeed? Glick tries to make sense of the nonsensical; she forgoes the willing suspension of disbelief engaged in by His followers. John McCain was right when he said Barack Obama would lose a war to win an election; Glick doesn't yet understand he is willing to lose Israel if it helps him achieve the same goal....

"The Moment"

Via Powerline - Rush Limbaugh knows exactly what the moment is:

But ladies and gentlemen, if you are wondering when you hear Obama talk about change, this is it. The change is: America sucks, America's deficient, America's guilty, but America is now willing to pay the price because we have a Messiah who understands the faults, the egregious errors made by the United States and her people. We are racists, sexists, bigots, homophobes. We discriminate against people who worship differently than we do, have skin color different from ours, and we have not always behaved properly in the world. And we torture. And we, of course, are biased against people who want to get into our country illegally. We have a lot to pay for. Not to mention that we are primarily the country responsible for climate change, shrinking the Atlantic coastline, melting the Arctic ice.

This is the change. You want change? This is the change.

I think more people than just Rush get this, though. Thing is, those folks like this message, and agree with it...any suprise it went over so well in Germany?

How about a little bit of humble, Baracky?

From The One's speech in Berlin:

Now the world will watch and remember what we do here — what we do with this moment.
~Barak Obama, “A World that Stands as One”. 2,983 words.

From an actual president, less noted for his oration:

The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here.
~Abraham Lincoln, “Gettysburg Address” 285 words.

Seems like the less one has accomplished, the more one talks....

"And It Came To Pass.....

....in the eighth year of the reign of the evil Bush the Younger (The Ignorant), when the whole land from the Arabian desert to the shores of the Great Lakes had been laid barren, that a Child appeared in the wilderness.

The Child was blessed in looks and intellect. Scion of a simple family, offspring of a miraculous union, grandson of a typical white person and an African peasant. And yea, as he grew, the Child walked in the path of righteousness, with only the occasional detour into the odd weed and a little blow.

When he was twelve years old, they found him in the temple in the City of Chicago, arguing the finer points of community organisation with the Prophet Jeremiah and the Elders. And the Elders were astonished at what they heard and said among themselves: “Verily, who is this Child that he opens our hearts and minds to the audacity of hope?”

In the great Battles of Caucus and Primary he smote the conniving Hillary, wife of the deposed King Bill the Priapic and their barbarian hordes of Working Class Whites.

And so it was, in the fullness of time, before the harvest month of the appointed year, the Child ventured forth - for the first time - to bring the light unto all the world.

He travelled fleet of foot and light of camel, with a small retinue that consisted only of his loyal disciples from the tribe of the Media...."

"This is Yad Vashem!"

(I'm breaking my self-imposed exile, only because this little tale so illuminates who Barack Obama is, and perhaps who - or what - he isn't.
“But he has nothing on at all,”
And at least the Israelis - literally, the world's canary in the coalmine - are not afraid to shout it out...)

Via Gateway Pundit, we go to the great land of Israel - Barack's latest stop on his WorldWide Gaffe Tour - and find that Mr. Obama refuses to take a position on Iran's gleeful march to "Auschwitz: The Sequel":

An Israeli journalist called out to Obama: “Can you ensure that there will be no second Holocaust?”

Obama walked into the museum’s main building without responding...

Once again an Israeli journalist asked the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee how he’d help prevent a second Holocaust.
"Senator can you assure Israel that there will be no second Holocaust despite Iran's threat to wipe us off the map?" he asked.

Obama demurred, saying that it wasn't appropriate to answer the question there.

"This is Yad Vashem!" the journalist responded.

...and the name means not a whit to Barack Obama, only concerned with the photo op, terrified to speak without the Teleprompter - a mere guppy, who has suddenly found himself in very deep waters, as it slowly dawns on him that his smooth, slick movements will not protect him from the dark, hungry creatures that are circling all around.

Out of his depth, out of his league, and a danger to the whole free world should he ascend to the throne....

July 4th, 2008 (The Character of a Nation)

'DECADES later the Declaration of Independence was canonized as American scripture," historian Walter McDougall writes of the nation's founding document, "but in 1776 it was generally read once - in army camps, taverns, and village greens - cheered, and forgotten."

Its fate might have been to be forgotten forevermore, if it weren't for George Washington and his Continental Army. When our great adventure in liberty still seemed an impossible risk, they were the embodiment and vindicators of the Declaration. Our nation was born on the shoulders of an army, whose exertions and principled patriotism gave the famous parchment its life.....

Another thought on George Washington, from the King of England:

....Of course, when the war ended, he resigned his command and returned to Mount Vernon. Upon hearing the news, an astonished King George III said, "If he does that, he will be the greatest man in the world."

Character counts.

BAGHDADHow are you spending your 4th of July holiday? While most Americans probably slept, 1,215 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines raised their right hands and committed to a combined 5,500 years of additional service during the largest reenlistment ceremony in the history of the American military. Beneath a large American flag which dwarfed even the enormous chandelier that Saddam Hussein had built for the Al Faw Palace, members of all services, representing all 50 states took the oath administered by Gen. David Petraeus, Commander of Multi-National Forces Iraq.

Without the unbroken chain of men of character from Washington's army to Petraeus', there would be few freedoms to hold dear on this Independence Day....

Thomas Jefferson's thoughts on the meaning of the Declaration, some fifty years after the fact:

....less than two months before his death on July 4, 1826, Jefferson was determinedly protective of his reputation as (he directed his tombstone to declare this) "author" of the Declaration. Still, he candidly acknowledged that it "was intended to be an expression of the American mind," not "aiming at originality of principle or sentiment." Hence, "all its authority rests then on the harmonizing sentiments of the day."

And this is one of "dead white men" that we are supposed to revile, instead of revere....is his document sill an "expression of the American mind" 232 years hence? Well, I guess Obama could finesse his way around that, too...

But some things have changed for the better, at least since the liberals last held sway:

The young soldier hadn't slept in 48 hours or bathed in 72. Now that he was finally back from Iraq, all Pfc. Justin Gindhart wanted was a hot shower and a soft bed.

But these days, Gindhart discovered, a soldier's homecoming isn't always that simple.

To his surprise, there was a troop of motorcycle-riding Vietnam vets to greet him at the airport; a police-escorted motorcade, past blocked-off intersections and highway entrances, that backed up traffic for miles; an appearance at a support-the-troops rally; a gathering of neighbors and friends, alerted by fire and ambulance sirens, outside his family's house....

This is a good thing, a great thing. But remember, if Jay Rockerfeller and the Democrats had their druthers, they would be giving our heroes a completely different type (can we say "Vietnam Style"?) of "welcome home..."

I would like to offer a special thanks on this Independence Day to the American Soldier, unique in history for his/her ability, strength, will, courage, character, and compassion. Without your vigilance, all I have - spiritually and materialistically - is certainly lost.

And finally - what's the Fourth of July without some patriotic cheesecake?

Yummy.

Happy 4th of July !

A Short Hiatus

Work and vacation will be all-consuming for the next 17-0dd days; might as well go on an official short break as opposed to my lame-ass, once-a -week posts that have shown up for most of June...

Oh, I'll be back.

Do you think I am going to let that "Obamination" breeze thru the election season without feeling my (verbal) wrath? Or Frank Lautenburg, who like all aged liberals would rather die in his civil service job rather than see someone else assume his perks?

The media is giddy with expectations of a Democratic sweep; but their hype masks their fears (or highlights their ignorance). Bush the First trailed Dukakis by 17 points in the national polls in the summer of '88, yet went on to wallop him by a 40-10 margin (in electoral votes). And did not Dewey lead Truman by six percentage points (Obama's average lead) up until election day 1948? Ah, I believe mistakes were made back then as well....

Saddle up, folks. It's gonna be a wild ride....
