Helen Thomas Stands By Her Hate...

...and provides a lesson in the sincerity of apologies such as hers, Rick Sanchez's, and others who got careless and just didn't tie the genial mask on tightly enough on a given day, and inadvertently showed their true faces - intolerant, anti-Semitic, and disfigured by hatred.

Helen's original remarks, when asked at the White House Jewish Heritage Celebration, if she had comments about Israel:

"Get the hell out of Palestine. Remember these people are occupied, and it’s their land.”

Where should the Jews go, Helen?

“Go home,” to “Poland and Germany.”

Her original apology:

“I deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians. They do not reflect my heart-felt belief that peace will come to the Middle East only when all parties recognize the need for mutual respect and tolerance.

And now, her denouncement of her prior apology:

Former White House correspondent Helen Thomas acknowledges she touched a nerve with remarks about Israel that led to her retirement. But she said the comments were "exactly what I thought," even though she realized soon afterward that it was the end of her job.

"I hit the third rail. You cannot criticize Israel in this country and survive,"

"I told him exactly what I thought...."They distorted my remarks, which they obviously have to do for their own propaganda purposes, otherwise people might wonder why they continue to take Palestinian land," said Thomas. There was no explanation of whom "they" referred to.

She issued an apology, she told the radio interviewer, because people were upset and she thought she had hurt people. "At the same time, I had the same feelings about Israel's aggression and brutality," Thomas said.

That's a lot of paranoia and hate. Here's the original video, in her own, "un-distorted" words:

You ever wonder how people get that damn ugly? It's when all that hatred and rage and craziness bottled up on the inside start to seep their way onto the outside. No haters die handsome.

Which makes you wonder how her bestest buddy will look in some 30-40 years....
