Congressmen Rush Holt and Frank Pallone Vote "YES" on Tax Hikes!

Well, isn't voting to adjourn Congress last night, instead of voting on the measure to extend the Bush tax cuts across the board, a de facto endorsement of allowing these cuts to expire on December 31st?

Did either Rush Holt or Frank Pallone stop to think that both average citizens and small businesses - without properly understanding what percentages of their salaries would be confiscated by the government - are extremely likely to cut spending and hoard cash until there is knowledge and stability?

Did they realize that the upcoming pullback by the private sector is the worst thing that could be happening as we approach the holiday season, which some businesses rely on to generate the bulk of their annual profits?

Pelosi won the right to shut the House last night by one vote (207-206). If either one of these two despicable Jersey Democrats were the profiles in courage they so often claim to be (hey, it take courage to ram a bill your constituents hate up their collective asses!), they would have voted to stay in session, and worked to cut the federal taxation burden on their constituents, who are among the most tax-burdened in America.

But Rush Holt and Frank ("I wrote the health care reform bill!") Pallone - two of New Jersey's most liberal representatives - are not interested in cutting your tax rates, as their vote yesterday demonstrated. In fact, the opposite is true - they are looking to take more. There are other people more worthy of your money, and only Frank and Rush are smart enough to decide who gets it.

That is, if they are still in office.

Help Anna defeat Frank here.

Help Scott kick Rush's fat can here.

Our Whiner-In-Chief Doesn't Know How Lucky He Is...

...guess that's what comes with having lived your life with the liberal version of a silver spoon up your ass - the right color, the right ideology, and just the right amount of self-righteous snark.

Over at Contentions, Rick Richman (via VDH) reviews some of the crisis previous presidents were either elected into, or were handed early in their terms, and guess what? In comparison, complaining about being handed the 2008 recession is like crying about the rough water in a wading pool:

A recession and 9/11 were not easy in 2001. And 18% interest, 18% inflation, 7% unemployment, and gas lines by 1981 greeted Reagan. Truman took over with a war … a wrecked Asia and Europe, a groundswell of communism, a climate of panic at home, and a soon to be nuclear Soviet Union … capped off soon by a war in Korea.

George W. Bush's thoughts, made shortly before leaving office, on Oval Office whiners:

...the phrase “burdens of the office” is overstated. You know, it’s kind of like, why me? Oh, the burdens, you know. Why did the financial collapse have to happen on my watch? It’s just — it’s pathetic, isn’t it, self-pity.

It is. And while pity is the coin of the liberal realm, it is a currency that has only transitory value amongst the American people. We don't worship the pitiful, we admire those who pull themselves (and others) up by their bootstraps and slog forward, overcoming all obstacles.

No wonder Obama is so confused. In his ideological circle, his failures and incompetencies, not to mention the "burden" of recession (without which, he may not have even won election) he inherited, should earn him some kind of reward. Instead, the voters scorn him and his deficiencies. And that's why he is lashing out at us, incidentally - Barack Obama believes that, because of his failures (and not despite them), he should have in fact earned more of our adoration, not less.

And that is why the baby whines so much...a natural reaction by an immature waif, who suddenly finds things aren't going his way, and that people - having their own problems -don't want to hear how tough his life is...

Obama At Madison: "Where the White Woman Are At"

OK, I am paraphrasing a line from Blazing Saddles here:

.... but I suppose there's a reason why we haven't seen the overwhelming media coverage of the president's University of Wisconsin-Madison rally that we are usually treated to, especially when Obama is standing before an friendly crowd.

Granted, this photo is taken before the rally, but I seem to detect a certain...enthusiasm gap:

Not a lot of excitement here yet either (closer to the actual start time), but there is one thing here that seems to jump out at me: The crowd is predominately....wait, I can't say it:

...WHITE! (sorry, it just came out)
I mean, is there one face in this crowd - besides Obama's - that has a pigment other than pale?

I guess this sidelines the news lede - so many times recycled this year - of "The large, predominately white crowd at the latest downtown Tea Party gathering...."

Now let's watch for the inevitable Photoshop....

Axelrod: Let's Talk About Abortion!

Because what else can we talk about? Our stellar record on the economy? The wildly popular socialization of the nation's health care system? The bailouts of GM and their unions? Our wonderful foreign policy achievements?

Bring it. From the
HuffPost:

White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod said on Monday that the debate over abortion -- specifically, the extreme views of some Republican candidates on the procedure -- will "certainly be an issue" for Democrats in the fall elections.

I think [abortion] is certainly an issue in the campaign and there are some people running on their side who have a very, very extreme view of this," Axelrod told The Huffington Post and National Review's Robert Costa. "Obviously they know that that is a problem because they omitted mention of all that from their Pledge [the GOP's 21-page governing doctrine] and I think that is telling.

When the HuffPost says "There has been, generally, a slow tilt towards more pro-life politics in American governance", you can read that as "there has been, generally, a steady movement in American morality towards pro-life positions".

On a similar note - the HuffPost, in endorsing Axelrod's "politics of distraction", makes the following case:

A poll commissioned by Emily's List -- an organization tasked with electing female candidates -- revealed that 61 percent of unenthusiastic Democratic women voters said their interest in voting increased a "great deal" when told that their votes could help defeat candidates who don't trust women to make their own decisions on reproductive health.

Well, truth be told, Emily's List is NOT an organization tasked with electing female candidates, it is, as per its annoying website (automatic redirect to contribution page - ugh. Whores.)it is "a community of progressive Americans dedicated to electing pro-choice Democratic women to every level of office. "

And in regards to Emily's poll, I'm just curious - being that the Democratic establishment no longer trusts Americans to make their own decisions on any part of our health, perhaps these women will be interested...in voting Republican this November?

Bring it, David...bring it.

Ahmadinejad to throw rocks at Israeli border

...and this is a guy whom America - in the form of their elected representative to the world, Barack Hussein Obama - sits upon bended knee before, pleading with him, begging him, to please please just talk to us.

No wonder he laughs. Like Hitler dancing a jig, complete with the maniacal grin of a madman. From the J-Post:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad plans to throw a rock at Israel to demonstrate his hatred on his planned trip to Lebanon, London-based paper Al-Quds al Arabi reported on Tuesday.

Ahmadinejad plans to meet with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, as well as other Lebanese officials, on October 13. During the two-day visit, the Iranian president will participate in events near the Israeli border.

One event is the inauguration of a garden in southern Lebanon, during which Ahmadinejad plans to throw the rock, Al-Quds reported.

Another event is the establishment of an Iranian center in the village of Maron A-Ras, where there IDF soldiers fought in the Second Lebanon War.

Hizbullah operatives are reportedly providing security for the Iranian president on his trip to Lebanon.

How horrible, how loathsome, of a man is Ahmadinejad (and his regime)? See below; from a letter from a former (teenage) female prisoner at Iran's notorious Evin Prison. And while you are reading this, remember: Barack Hussein Obama, and our nation, sits on bended knee before the man who endorses what transpired below:

... While I was in the prison, I wished many times that I could be free, that I could get out and forget about what happened in there. But now that I am out, I wish I were one of those girls who were lucky enough to go in front of the firing squad. They took everything from me in that prison. I have nothing left.

. . . When I was released from prison, I rushed home to see my mother, but she wasn’t there. She had a stroke a few months after I was arrested. I did not know I could cause so much agony and grief. I feel as though I killed her. Every day I blame myself for the pain I brought her. I prayed to God to let me see her one more time when I was in the prison. I asked God to send me home to her and let me put my head on her shoulder and cry, to ask for forgiveness. She was the only one I had. Now there was nobody to tell what happened to me. I had nobody to cry to. My mom was not there to hug me and tell me that it’s okay — it’s not your fault, Roya, it’s not your fault to have a binamoos touch your body, private and sacred, which God forbids a namahram to see. She was not there to tell me — it’s not your fault that they whipped you every day, beat your bare feet with cables. I could not tell her that I bled so hard that I would faint, never knowing what they did to my unconscious body.

When I was in solitary confinement, these filthy, evil men would come to my cell — every time a different rotten, dirty, nasty guard. Not even animals would do what they did to me. I am embarrassed even to say what they did. They raped me, but it was more than rape. They said the most disgusting things to me. When they were through, they kicked me in the back as hard as they could, threw me down next to the toilet, and told me, “You piece of shit do your namaz now.” Reza Khan, I am a Muslim. I believe in God, and my faith kept me alive in there. I did my namaz every single day, but these shameless people worship Satan, not God.

. . . There are thousands of innocent young girls being held in there. When I was finally released from solitary, they took me to a small cell, a cell designed for just a few, but which held more than thirty women. I had no complaints about being squashed in with these women. Seeing their tormented bodies and minds gave me the strength and the feeling that I was not alone.

Every few days they would call out names over the loudspeaker. We knew what that meant, and we would gather together, hold each other’s hands, and pray that they would not call our names. But always at least one or two from our cell would have to go in front of the firing squad. We could hear the sound of the screams, the pleas for forgiveness, and then the gunshots filling the air.

They would line up the rest of us and make us hold one leg up for a long time. If you got tired, they would lash you on the tired leg and make you stand on it. All of us were crying. Some would faint from the pain and bleeding . . . This was the routine. . . .

One day they released me. Even thinking about it gives me shivers.

A mullah who was in charge of guiding the prisoners to the Islamic path, became fond of me. In the third meeting I had with him, he told me of his interest in me and said that he would arrange my freedom if I agreed to become sigheh to him. I don’t think I gave much thought to it. Being free was enough reason for me to make a bad decision. I made that decision not understanding that I had to give myself to another demented person; not understanding that I was committing myself to more torture and mental anguish by accepting the sigheh, by being temporarily married to a man who already had a wife or two.

For a few months, there was no physical pain, no beatings, no lashings, and no breaking bones. But I was disgusted with myself, of betraying myself, selling my pride to a mullah in return for my freedom. Was it really freedom? I did not know at the time. I did not know the heavy price I had to pay to get back to my life. The only life I knew.

Nothing is the same; it won’t be the same for anybody that has been in that damned prison.

. . . I can’t live like this anymore. You are habs, a prisoner, forever. This is what’s happening to every prisoner in there . . .

~Roya

Roya hanged herself shortly after mailing the letter.

And we sit on the sidelines, and "witness", to quote our president...

Andrew Cuomo Throws The Gauntlet Down Before The Tea Party

Via Politico:

Andrew Cuomo, betting that he's still running in a very blue state, offers a bit of a challenge to the Republican base:

"There are no places in New York today for tea party politics," he said today, per NY1's Josh Robin.

Via
CBS News:

Cuomo spokesman Josh Vlasto said: “The spotlight is now on the choice between the tea party extremism of Carl Paladino or Andrew Cuomo's record of fighting corruption, standing up for a woman's right to choose, and his detailed plans to create jobs for New Yorkers.”

What is Cuomo's strategy here? With a lead of a mere six points in a race he was supposed to win in a romp, is he trying to motivate the liberal base to show up in November? Does he believe that the Tea Party's brand of "civic insurrection" won't play well in a de facto welfare state like New York? Or are we seeing what Elliot Spitzer
called "the dirtiest, nastiest political player out there" coming out of the closet like a cornered animal?

I guess since Cuomo can't run "above the fray anymore" (as he has been reduced from heir-apparent to simply a contender), he's decided to go negative, and not simply against the opposition candidate, but against all of his citizen supporters as well.

Interesting. Let's see how this works out for you, Andy...

Tea Party Darlin' Anna Little Getting Some Love...

...from a DC-based PAC called Freedom’s Defense Fund, who is doing an ad buy in New Jersey's 6th District featuring the Democratic incumbent - the detestable Frank Pallone - bragging that the Health Care Reform Act is "his bill".

The ad can be found
here.

Not sure if this is something you want to brag about, Frankie boy, not when the rest of the Democratic establishment is running as fast as it can from "your bill"...

It's good to see Anna Little
get some help and national recognition:

In a press release, Michael Centanni, Chairman of the Freedom’s Defense Fund, defined Anna Little as a “true champion of conservative values, limited government and lower taxes.” Incumbant Frank Pallone, in contrast, is a typical big-government liberal who wants to take credit for the Obamacare healthcare scheme which the majority of Americans oppose.

There hasn't been a poll taken in NJ-CD6 since August, and that was an internal, showing Little behind Pallone by a mere 6 points. Since then, Anna has been all over the district, shaking hands and chatting up average citizens, while Pallone has been in hiding in fear from his own constituents.

Anna's district went heavily for Chris Christie in November:

Chris Christie (R) - 110,305 Votes - 54.7%
Jon Corzine (D) - 78,977 Votes = 39.2%
Chris Daggett (I) - 12,393 Votes - 6.1%

That's a 15 point spread against the party of Frank Pallone - the self-proclaimed author of the most hated piece of legislation ever to pass Congress and be signed by an American president.

Why can't the Republican establishment show Anna $ome love? A "Little" could go a long way. Otherwise, of course, should Anna win on just her own steam, she'll owe nothing to the GOP establishment.

And what a shame that would be...

Help Anna Little defeat "the author" of ObamaCare here...

SmackDown! Linda McMahon Within 3 In Connecticut !

Well, this is a WWE-style kick to the balls for the liberal gentry of Connecticut - and Washington, for that matter:

Propelled by Connecticut likely voters who say they are “angry” with government, former wrestling executive Linda McMahon, the Republican U.S. Senate candidate, is closing in on Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, the Democrat, and now trails just 49 – 46 percent, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Independent voters shift from 47 – 46 percent for Blumenthal September 14 to 49 – 44 percent for McMahon today. In a gender reversal, women back Blumenthal 56 – 39 percent while men back McMahon 52 – 44 percent.

The association with the WWE is likely responsible for the wide gender swings here...ladies, ask yourself: Who would you rather have protecting your interests - a wispy career desk jockey who lies about being a tough guy:

Or members of the McMahon posse:

One set of these guys will defend us to the utmost, no matter how many metal folding chairs must be broken over our enemy's backs, and the other guy is Obama's future prison bitch. Really, is it even a contest?

And regarding the "kick in the balls" comment, that stems from this question from one of the Nutmeg State's locals on the campaign trail:

Pesky Jews are "Provocative" ; Deserve What's Coming To Them

I don't know...how else can you explain this statement from the chief mutt in the rabid dog pound that is the United Nations, in which he expresses his feelings about Israel's refusal to extend a 10-month building moratorium in Jerusalem?

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has also expressed disappointment at Israel's "provocative" actions...

It's provocative to build houses in a city that you have lived in since the first written histories of the Earth? Really? Let's get another opinion:

The US state department has said it is "disappointed" by Israel's decision not to extend its ban on settlement building in the West Bank.

Hmmm...it is "disappointing" for a nation to build homes in its eternal capital? But, of course, I assume it is neither "disappointing" or "provocative" for Muslims to build a mosque on the ashes of the Americans they slaughtered 9 years back at Ground Zero? No? That's "tolerance"? But what them should we show towards the Jews? Wait, here it comes...

The state department praised what it called Mr Abbas's restraint...

Really? Because he hasn't released the hounds to throw rocks at Jewish women and kill Jewish babies? That is praiseworthy, but Jews building a home in Israel is "provocative"?

Muslims building mosques on Ground Zero: Tolerable.

Abbas holding off before he kills innocent Jewish women and children: Praiseworthy.

Jews living in their ancestral homeland: Provocative.

Get the point yet?

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings Insults Americans...

...nice company you have there, Reed. Would certainly be a shame if those obscene profit margins went downhill because a certain "self-absorbed" public decided to boycott your business...

In a recent interview, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings responded to a question whether his American customers were likely to be disgruntled about the cheaper deal Netflix is offering Canadians:

“How much has it been your experience that Americans follow what happens in the world? It's something we'll monitor, but Americans are somewhat self-absorbed.”

Reed later backtracked and apologized, but methinks his first statement was the one really from his heart. We're talking about a guy who had given $245K of his $255K in political donation to one party....a party who's leadership is prone to making statements quite similar to Reed's:

A testy U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry yesterday blamed clueless voters with short attention spans for the uphill battle beleaguered Democrats are facing against Republicans across the nation.

“We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening,” Kerry told reporters after touring the Boston Medical Center yesterday.

These Democrats, they keep forgetting that the ugly things they say about us behind close doors are to be replaced with teary-eyes platitudes about "the common man" when out in the public arena.

Maybe, you know, they ought to stop being so self-absorbed, and pay a little more attention...

"One Nation Working Together...”

....all under the lash of..the AFL-CIO and the NAACP.

"One Nation Working Together" is the name of a left-wing rally taking place this Saturday in Washington DC at the National Mall, in an admitted attempt to upstage Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor rally and prove that they remain the driving force in American political life, and that they speak for America's middle class.

Really? Besides the aforementioned union thugs and race-baiters, who else amongst this rabble is claiming the mantle of middle class leadership ?

Oy vey:

American Federation of Teachers
Center for Community Change
Green for All
Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights
National Action Network
National Council of La Raza
PowerPAC
Rainbow PUSH Coalition
SEIU: Service Employees International Union
Sojourners
UAW, International Union
United States Students Association
Chicago Democratic Socialists of America
Coalition of Labor Union Woman
Coalition on Human Needs
Code Pink
Coffee Party Progressives
Communist Party USA (CPUSA)

Community Empowerment Network
Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago

Read the list - a tale of socialists, racialists, communists, environmentalists, and psychotics, all going to Washington DC on either the union dime or taxpayer dollars to vent their rage and scream bloody murder. Oh - and to represent the American middle-class taxpayer with a platform with demands that
looks like...

The rally’s platform looks like a liberal wish list: extend unemployment benefits, raise the minimum wage, end the foreclosure epidemic, enact legislation making it easier to join unions, increase infrastructure spending to create jobs, “fix our broke immigration system” and end immigration round-ups that “encourage racial profiling.”

Just the change America is hoping for. Will the media up-play it as much as it downplayed Beck's rally? Or are even they weary of claiming union-funded activism is somehow indicative of the nation's mood at large?

We'll see. But I think this rally will provide more laughter and scorn than enthusiasm and enlightenment, no matter how hard a complaint media tries to spin it...

Christiane Amanpour Says It All !

Gee, Christine, from your anchor's seat on ABC's This Week - why don't you tell us where you really stand on Barack Obama's presidency?

People don’t appreciate some of the amazing legislative agenda that he’s accomplished.

And far be it from me to ever accuse you of
an anti-Semitic history, but doesn't this question - put to your butt-buddy David Axelrod - seem to lead the viewer to believe there is only one responsible party here should the Mideast "peace" talks collapse?

The president asked the Israeli prime minister to keep the moratorium on. He’s not going to do it. What is going to stop these talks from collapsing?

How about acknowledging your neighbor's right to even exist? No, that's not on the table for Christiane...

Or how about this - acknowledge at the outset of each broadcast that
your husband was and is:

...former State Department spokesman Jamie Rubin...[and]an informal foreign policy advisor to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama....

...so that people might know your are simply doing PR for your husband's employers?

Nah. That would involve Christiane and ABC being...honest. Don't expect that to happen, at least not before the November midterms...

Maureen Dowd, Christine O'Donnell, Evolution, and Me...

As a columnist and not a reporter, I suppose the dimwitted Dowd is entitled to her own opinions and facts, as she makes the following unsupported remarks in her piece today:

President Obama was supposed to be a giant leap forward in modernity, the brainy, rational first black president leading us out of the scientific darkness of the W. years. But by letting nutters get a foothold, he may usher us into the past.

Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, John Boehner, Jim DeMint and some Tea Party types don’t merely yearn for the country they idealize from the 1950s. They want to go back to the 1750s.

Of course, she doesn't offer any proof that Palin, Demint, and the millions of "Tea Partiers" want to revert back to the days of slavery and Injun' scalping. Just saying it is enough to get her kudos from the crew down at Elaine's tonight.

Still, I would have rather seen proof about her first assertion, which I believe is even harder to prove: That Barack Obama is brainy and rational. For now, I'll buy the fact that he is, indeed, black...

Well, in all fairness, Dowd offers some evidence to back her assertion that the Tea Party is the equivalent of Islamic fundamentalism - she mentions a recent clip shown by Bill Maher in which Delaware's Christine O'Donnell denies evolution theory.

Well, if Dowd hopes that is going to be enough to convince anyone to continue on with impossible deficits, government-managed health care, and a cap & trade regimen, I believe 'ol Dowdy better get used to disappointment.

But let me speak briefly in defense of O'Donnell. While I believe strict Biblical creationism is a bit...far-fetched, given millions of years of fossil data, there is one question that evolution theory fails to address:

The existence of my very soul, which I deeply, devoutly believe to exist and to be eternal.

When Dowd and her rational buddies can prove to me that my soul evolved naturally, and that it contains no divine spark, I may yet go all-in with Darwinism. If they cannot, then I will maintain a very healthy skepticism towards current evolution theory, thank you very much.

And if, Miss Dowd, you claim you have no soul, and that the soul does not even exist, I believe you and I have very little to talk about.

And while it make explain many of the words and actions of both yourself and the liberal intelligentsia, it gives you precious little in common with your fellow man.

And it explains why, no matter how nastily you insult them, the people simply refuse to listen to you...

Chris Christie & Cory Booker Get It Right...

....Christie, who is the de facto head of the the Newark Public School system (a system so broken that it was taken over by the state government a few years back) hands off control of the system to Newark's mayor Cory Booker, who announces a new schooling plan which holds everyone - teachers, parents, students - accountable for education. In walks Mark Zukerberg with $100 million in Facebook cash to help make it happen.

Colorblind bi-partisanship involving disempowering the teacher's union and empowering the private sector to help repair our failed education system. Wow.

Oh my - how will the Obami spin this? I have the feeling, having seen what it's like to be on the receiving end of Chris Christie's blunt criticism, that they will hesitate to provoke the Big Man. Will they jump on Cory Booker - possibly the only Democrat in the nation right now who actually has a future (I've written of him favorably here and here) - and "Uncle Tom" him a la Colin Powell and Condi Rice?

Oh, what a quandary...

Best line in the video below - when asked by Oprah "why Newark", Zukerberg motions towards Christie and Booker and says, "Because I believe in these guys...":

Stephen Colbert Seals The Democrat's Doom...

With Colbert's help, the Democratic Congress has been defined. With foreign threats multiplying, the economic crisis stagnating, the national debt swelling, and the citizenry up in arms, they respond by...inviting a cable comedian to a congressional committee to make mockery of themselves and the democratic process. I'm sure that'll pay dividends on election day...for the Republicans.

Mary Katherine Ham points out the, ah,...downside for the Democrats:

Now, they've managed to portray themselves, not just as fat and happy incumbents willing to irresponsibly throw our money at problems, but as fat and happy incumbents who hire a court jester with our money to entertain them while they irresponsibly throw our money at problems. That ought to be great for the party's message this fall.

Among the arguments this Colbert appearance makes harder:

Christine O'Donnell is somehow unqualified or too unserious to sit in a Congress that allowed that to happen?

Even the
eunuchs in the lapdog media sensed the damage being done here:

REALLY not sure this is funny," wrote ABC News' Rick Klein.

"Colbert's testimony made a mockery of Congress," said the Washington Post's Aaron Blake.

The Hill's Mike O'Brien said, "This might be the most amazing public stunt before Congress."

Nancy Pelosi
seemed to think the whole thing was just "great", however. Just like the stimulus bill, health care reform, and cap and trade....

I leave you with a revised version of the conclusion of
Animal Farm:

The citizens outside looked from jester to congressman, and from congressman to jester, and from congressman to jester again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

I guess I could have left the word "pig" in there; it would have worked just as well...

Rush Holt: A Big Fan of Israel...For The Next Six Weeks

Oh, that wacky Congressman Rush Holt (D-NJ). Constantly taking anti-Israel stands shoulder to shoulder with barely disguised anti-Semites, and then wonders why he's lumped in with them....

Currently on a Jersey Jew ass-kissing tour, motivated primarily by pro-Israel groups
pointing out his hateful stances, he's attempting to portray himself as a real pal of Israel while refusing to (or unable to) understand how his alliances give lie to his current Kabuki show. Some interesting insight into the Congressman's twisted dance comes from his recent meetings with local Orthodox groups:

Both meetings came as Holt fended off an attack from a conservative pro-Israel group. An ad by the group, the Emergency Committee for Israel, criticized Holt for his support of the left-leaning Israel advocacy group J Street and his signature on a letter urging Israel to ease its blockade of Gaza in order to allow in more humanitarian aid.

Participants said Holt denounced the television ad by ECI — which was founded by conservative strategist William Kristol — which asserts Holt is “against” Israel.

“It was a very timely meeting because the ad came out two days before,” said Falk, “and he really came in guns ablazing to defend himself against the ad.”

Falk said Holt defended the letter on Gaza, which he and 53 colleagues signed in the wake of June’s flotilla incident. The letter was the initiative of Democratic Reps. Jim McDermott from Washington and Keith Ellison from Minnesota and was drafted by J Street.

Falk added that Holt was “adamant” that the letter was innocuous....

“We said that may be, but you have to look at it in terms of who else is signing it and who you are aligning yourself with,” said Falk. Holt is “a smart guy and I think he’s very sincere, but I don’t think he got it at the time in terms of Orthodox sensitivities and I’m not sure he still gets it even after the meeting

Sorry, Mr. Falk, Holt is not that smart at all. If he can't understand why standing shoulder-to-shoulder with anti-Semites would piss off the Jews, well, it leads me to believe our liberal rocket scientist has got some serious flaws in his navigation console, so to speak.

Is he sincere? Sincerely concerned about re-election, with a well-funded Republican and an irritable electorate breathing down his neck. Frantically, he scrambles around Jersey, desperate not to lose his Jewish support, trying to convince them that he really does care about their interests, while refusing to budge on any of his positions that are slowly but surely pissing them off.

Will Holt's Jersey Jews fall for his left-wing sweet-talk? Yup. They are the abused wives of the electorate, just taking the beating day after day, and forgiving when their teary-eyed abuser tells them they did it out of love...

They deserve him. Me? I'm told that my mumblings during Sabbath services are going to get me ejected one day...

Wall Street: Liberal Bullsh*t Never Sleeps

I wondered how Oliver Stone would dreck up the Wall Street sequel; after all, his leftwing paranoia and conspiratorial leanings are so well-known I am surprised he wasn't offered a spot in the Obama administration.

What gems of economic liberalism do we find flowing from Stone in the just-released Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps? Plenty, alas. New York Post reviewer
Kyle Smith (who gave the flick 2.5 stars, BTW), has more than a few examples:

I liked Gordon Gekko better before he turned into Paul Krugman...

...The one attempt to show how a hurricane on Wall Street washes away Main Street is embodied in Jake’s mother (Susan Sarandon). She’s a caricature of a garish Lawn Guyland lady who quit nursing to be a real-estate agent and is as addicted to cheap money (loans from her son) as the big shots. But Stone can’t avoid wagging a finger in the poor woman’s face, as if her desire to better herself is what’s wrong with her, and we’re meant to cheer when she returns to nursing. Easy for Stone to say the middle class should know its place: He was born rich. His dad worked on Wall Street.

...Gekko, in promoting his book, channels Stone’s contempt in a lengthy denunciation of Wall Street. Dramatizing an idea means more than just assigning a speech to a character ...

But then again, maybe Stone is waking up a bit to reality:

When he tells Gekko all about a green scheme that’ll change the world — something about turning seawater into fuel — Gekko has the funniest, most dead-on line of the movie: “That’s smart. That’s the next bubble.”

Bulls-eye, Stonie. A few more lines like that and you might start being a profitable director again...

You're Gonna Heckle Chris Christie? Seriously?

...just how stupid are these liberals, anyway?

You don't f*ck with New Jersey's Fat Man.

You got that, punk?

David Gregory of "Meet The Press" Claims Tea Party is Racist

Well, we've always known where they stood, and the claims of impartiality were always laughable. I guess confession is good for the soul...

David Gregory - host of NBC’s “Meet the Press” and longtime NBC White House correspondent, spoke to about 500 people at Seattle’s Town Hall back on September 21. When asked about the Tea Party, he starts out speaking rationally:

It’s a “populist, conservative, small-government, anti-Washington [D.C.] movement,” upset with “bailouts” and “too much deficit spending.”

Alas, he descends into madness:

“And a real antipathy toward Obama that in some cases is racism.”

Where is Gregory's proof of that assertion? He doesn't offer any, of course. Is it just one of those "known fact" (as opposed to a "proven fact") within Gregory's social and professional circles that the Tea Party is racist? Or does he just feel it is a politically correct trope that he must throw in when talking about the Tea Party - say, similar to the requirement to use the phrase "religion of peace" when talking about Islamofacism?

It doesn't matter. Apparently, when Gergory is on the air and discussing grassroots opposition to the President, he is acting upon the belief, or the necessity to believe, that the Tea Party's opposition to Barack Obama is at least somewhat rooted in racism.

Remember that, the next time he smirks when we are slimed...

And on a nastier note, am I free to say that David Gregory is a child-molesting sex offender who masturbates while watching Keith Olbermann reruns? I mean, I have no proof of that, but since facts are no longer the coin of the realm...

Six Months In: Top Six Reasons To Repeal ObamaCare!

The Republicans stay on the offensive against Obama, the Democrats, and the media, with....facts. Something the aforementioned either refuse to provide, fudge, or lie about completely:

*ObamaCare makes health insurance MORE expensive for Americans:

-After having proclaimed, “If any bill arrives from Congress that is not controlling costs, that’s not a bill I can support. It’s going to have to control costs,” President Obama has recently admitted that he “knew” the Democrats’ health care law would increase costs.

*ObamaCare forces millions of Americans out of the health plan they have and like:

-Administration officials predict the Democrats’ health law could force up to 117 million Americans to lose their current health plan.

*ObamaCare discourages employers from hiring new workers, increasing wages, or retaining existing employees:

With unemployment continuing to hover close to 10 percent, Congress should work to ease the heavy burdens our small businesses have been facing. But buried in their health care law, Democrats included a $17 billion tax increase that requires small businesses to file a 1099 tax form for every business to which they make total payments in excess of $600 for all goods and services during the tax year. According to NFIB, “at $74 an hour, tax paperwork is the most expensive paperwork burden placed on small businesses by the federal government.”

*ObamaCare jeopardizes seniors’ health care:

-7.4 million Medicare beneficiaries who would have been enrolled in a Medicare health plan will lose their plan because of the $206 billion in cuts to Medicare Advantage (MA) in the Democrats’ health law. Next year alone, 1.2 million seniors will be forced out of their MA plan or prescription drug plan.

Massive tax increases:

-The Democrats’ health care law contains $570 billion in tax increases and a dozen violations of the President’s pledge to not raise taxes on Americans earning less than $200,000 for singles and $250,000 if married.

*The cost of ObamaCare keeps growing & growing and America can’t afford it:

-Obama Administration’s own actuaries predict that the Democrats’ new health law will increase national health care spending by over $300,000,000,000.
-CBO predicts that federal health care-related spending could increase by an additional $115,000,000,000 or more over 10 years to just to implement the Democrats’ new health care law.

I'm only giving you one bullet point per; there's three or more for each one. They're free, take 'em out and spread them like confetti on this, the six month anniversary of Obama's "historic achievement", one that most Americans want to shove right back up his...

The Republican Party Presents: The Pledge To America

Presented, with pride - and a middle finger to the sneering lefties who claim we don't stand for anything except "no".

Maybe Barack Obama, who seems to be confused about the sacred origin of this nation, ought to contemplate the first few sentences:

America is more than a country. America is an idea that free people can govern themselves....

GOP Pledge to America

The Democratic response to the Pledge? Pathetic:

"...House Republicans proved once and for all that there's not an inch of daylight between them and the reckless Bush administration policies"

"...look, we're not putting together a gimmicky package like this six weeks before the election
. ..."

Yeah, that'll resonate....

New York Democrats Struggling To Hold Off "No-Name" Republicans

Imagine if New York had a Republican Party with a beating heart and a functioning brain. They'd have been at least somewhat more likely to present a field of viable candidates with financial backing for the 2010 elections, and would have had the entire nation focused on the "upsets" in the Empire State. As it is, talented nobodies, washed-up hacks, and upstate nutjobs running with "R"'s next to their names are making former "shoo-in" Democrats soil their panties.

In the
Attorney General race (the position being vacated by Andrew Cuomo):

A statewide Quinnipiac University survey shows Democrat Eric Schneiderman and Republican Dan Donovan locked in a statistical tie – 37 to 36 percent – with nearly a third of likely voters still undecided about who they want to succeed Andrew Cuomo as attorney general.

Eight in 10 voters said they didn’t know enough about Schneiderman, a six-term state senator, or Donovan, the Staten Island district Attorney, to have an opinion, with Schneiderman slightly better known.

Dan Donovan, by the way, has been an excellent public servant. If he can get some money behind him, he'll win. Hands down.

What about Kirsten Gillibrand, New York's appointed Senator, who has spent her entire tenure bankrupting the state she is supposed to represent? She's practically tied with an utter, total, complete hack:

Former Westchester congressman, Joseph DioGaurdi, the father of former “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi, trails Gillibrand 42 to 46 percent. Six in 10 say they have heard enough about DioGuardi yet.

The results come from the same poll of likely voters that found Cuomo with a mere six-point lead over upstart Republican Carl Paladino.

And speaking of "Crazy Carl" Paladino - his campaign had
a field day yesterday tying "Prince Andrew" to the now deeply unpopular Mayor Bloomberg:

Paladino's camp ripped Bloomberg's endorsement of Cuomo, and linked it to the support both men have given to the controversial Islamic center near Ground Zero.

"Of course, two of the biggest backers of the Ground Zero mosque are joining hands against Carl, a staunch opponent of this insult to the American people," said his campaign manager, Michael Caputo.

"His royal highness opposes the will of the people on the mosque, and subverted the will of the people on term limits, so it's no surprise Bloomberg is missing the point on this important election and climbing into the same royal coach as Prince Andrew.

"One upside to this: The two can stop passing Grey Poupon back and forth from their limousines. It's holding up traffic on Park Avenue."

Prince Andrew is now making "unforced errors", the first sign of a campaign in chaos:

Cuomo, in an embarrassing gaffe during an endorsement press conference, apparently misspoke when he told a questioner that he had once cast a vote for Bloomberg. His aides later said Cuomo had not. The mayor, a Republican turned independent, did not run on the Democratic line in any of his three election victories.

New York's blood still runs blue. But a series of tight races here could invigorate the Republican Party and allow for more serious challengers in 2012. Too late for the Great Wave of 2010, but 2012 will certainly have its own fair share of juicy targets....

The Difference Between Republicans And Democrats...

...as told by liberal lightweight Margaret Carlson. Hey, even an idiot stumbles upon the truth every now and then:

If I break down on the side of the road, I hope a Republican stops — he’ll fix my flat and offer me a drink. A Democrat will get busy forming a Committee to Protect Women Who Own Vulnerable Cars.

True, that. So why the hell would you put any Democrat in charge of anything that needs...you know, doing?

But in the spirit of the conservation - but not the spread - of the Democratic species, there is one position they can hold, from now into perpetuity: Ambassador to the United Nations.

The rest of you incompetent? Get the hell out of my garage....

"Don Obama" Now Leaning On The Church...

...no, not for spiritual guidance! Leaning on them as in I need a favor and if you don't want to find a horse's head under the pulpit instead of "stimulus funds" in the collection plate you'd better get a move on type of "leaning"....

POLITICO listened in to an Oval Office conference call Tuesday, where Obama and top administration officials, beseeched thousands of faith-based and community organizations to preach the gospel on new insurance reforms, chiefly the Patients’ Bill of Rights.

"Get out there and spread the word,” Obama told leaders from across the religious spectrum on the conference call, organized by the Health and Human Services Center for Faith-Based and Community Partnerships.

Obama instructed faith leaders to treat the new law as settled fact and use their perches of power to convey that message to congregants and friends.

“The debate in Washington is over, the Affordable Care Act is now law ... I think all of you can be really important validators and trusted resources for friends and neighbors...

I guess church is important to Barack Obama - when he believes they can do something important for him, anyway. As far as Obama carrying out their Word, well...that's what idiots like George W. Bush are for...

Funny how comfortable Obama seems to be giving out-and-out orders to religious leaders. Who does Don Obama think he is, the Pope of Stimulus Town?

Then again, even Stalin turned to the Russian Orthodox Church for political help, once the Nazis were practically at the doorstep...

Tea Party Madness: Carl Paladino Within 6 of Andrew Cuomo in NY

He's crazy. He's a loose cannon. He has absolutely zero chance to become the next governor of New York. The GOP establishment in New York (dysfunctional with a capital D) warned fellow Republicans to steer clear of associating with him. Stung by his 65%-35% Tea Party-fueled primary whipping of their hand-picked nice-guy loser Rick Lazio, the GOP poobahs in New York picked up their marbles and essentially went home for the 2010 election.

Too bad for them that the voters of New York didn't:

In stunning new poll this morning shows Democratic Attorney General Andrew Cuomo holding a mere six point lead over bomb throwing Buffalo businessman Carl Paladino in what until now has been Cuomo's runaway race for governor.

The startling Quinnipiac University survey of likely voters showed Cuomo ahead of Republican Paladino by 49-43 percent, a far cry from the 60-23 percent lead he held in a Quinnipiac poll of registered - but not necessarily likely - voters released Sept. 1.

Since the poll's margin of error is plus- or minus-3.6 percent, the findings - if accurate -- mean the race between the popular and well-known attorney general and the little-known but highly controversial, Tea Party-linked, Paladino could be a dead heat.

The crucial difference appeared to be among self-styled independent voters, who picked Paladino over Cuomo, 49-43 percent.

The establishment of both parties fails to realize that, in a year where "change" actually means something, a hallowed name means nothing. (see "Kennedy", in Massachusetts and Rhode Island - a name who's value has dropped faster than the dollar...)

Cuomo's claim at being a reformer were dashed when he openly attended crooked congressman Charlie Rangel's mega birthday bash in New York, and then, thinking better of it, belly-crawled out the back door through the New York City subway:

Exposed as just another cog in New York's political machine, Cuomo becomes vulnerable to Paladino (who, in defeating Rick Lazio, has already slain a cog in New York's political machine).

How much trouble is Cuomo in? Hard to say; New York may currently be bluer than California, at least until the bills come due. But if the Republican party wants to stay relevant in New York, they'd better show some support for Paladino, and fast. Same with the RGA.

No wonder the Obama team is sh*tting bricks and debating a smear campaign of the Tea Party. If they can bring down a Cuomo in New York, then...no one, anywhere, is safe from the wrath of the Gadsden flag...

New Jersey's Rush Holt: Voting To Cut Jobs In His Own District

It is no stretch to say that Rush Holt (D-NJ) is adamant about raising taxes on individuals who make more than $200,000 and families that make more than $250,000. He's Nancy Pelosi's bitch, so what more would you expect?

Perhaps that a little common sense and mathematics could overwhelm "Professor Holt"'s rigid ideological bent?

Revoking the tax cut for the wealthy would raise some $700 billion dollars, so the Democrats claim. Maybe. That's assuming these folks keep earning at the rate they currently are, which, given the economic conditions prevailing, seems highly unlikely. Then again, how do you feel about transferring $700 billion from the private sector to Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Rush Holt? Do you really think they're going to spend it better than you can?

Heritage.org has put together a chart, per Congressional district, approximating how many jobs would be lost if the Democrats confiscate more cash from the "wealthy" for them to spend on their favored political groups. The results for Holt's district, CD-12, are disturbing:

2011 Job Losses: 511
2012 Job Losses: 1,358
Total Tax Increase for CD-12: $2.5 billion dollars

I'll ask you again: Would you rather see this $2.5 billion in the hands of your neighbors, who will spend it in local business, in job creation, and in local investments, or in the hands of Congress, who will spend it on their friends and folks they feel may help them professionally and personally?

Is it any surprise, then, that Rush Holt is fighting to get his hands on your money? Don't worry, though - I hear he favors infinite unemployment benefits at top-shelf wages....

More on Rush Holt - did you know he takes money from
Nazi collaborators, and supports gratuitous infanticide , when he's not stealing your money, your hopes, and your dreams? MoreMonmouthMusings has been all over him...

Jimmy Carter: Yearning For Another Civil War?

I think it is key for the Republican party's 2010/2012 hopes that Dhimmi Jimmy Carter be rolled out into the public eye as often as possible before the elections. The sight of the hatred, nonsense, and narcissism spewed by this wretched old anti-Semite only makes one reflect on the horror of his presidency ( Upon seeing a statue of the peanut farmer unveiled in Springfield, Homer Simpson shrieks , "Jimmy Carter!? He's history's greatest monster!", at which point the town riots) and the similarities to a certain Democrat in office today.

Sure, Jimmy's getting a lot of play today for calling himself a "superior ex-president" in an NBC interview, but
Republican Redefined finds even greater stupidity that flew under the radar:

“This country has become so polarized that its almost astonishing…. Not only with the red and blue states… President Obama suffers from the most polarized situation in Washington that we have ever seen – even maybe than the time of Abraham Lincoln and the initiation of the war between the states.”

Really? Because I haven't noticed that any states seceded from the union recently, unless the media has been keeping that under the covers. THAT is polarization. America today is in disagreement about the proper role of government within its citizen's lives, and we will have an orderly election in six weeks that will express the people's view more clearly.

If Obama "suffers" from polarization, it is because he, more than anyone, has done the most to create it. After campaigning as a post-partisan, reach-across-the-aisle reformer, he has governed as a hardcore leftist, broking no compromise and demonizing his opposition, whether in government or in the private sector.

Is Carter insane, stupid, senile, or just....another anti-American liberal Democrat, whose limited worldview cannot see beyond the artificial constructs of race and class warfare?

In other words, is he just an older version of...Barack Obama?

Obama's "Peace Process": Epic Fail

A smart president, you know, someone really smart, not just told they were smart, and filled with hubris, would avoid the Israeli/Palestinian conflict like the plague. Arm Israel, and let the good guys fight the bad guys. Done. But no - Obama is so smart, he can get the two sides to resolve millennium-old enmity by dint of of a wave of his magic hand.

Apparently, the president woke up one day and decided it was time for an Israel/Palestinian summit. Why? At the current time the two sides have little to talk about. But maybe - like health care reform - this is something Barack Obama just wants, reality and the wishes of the affected parties be damned. Unfortunately, Obama cannot just jam this down the throats of the Middle East combatants the way he does with socialist legislation. He'll try - try to jam some unsavory deal down the throats of the Jews, anyway - but he'll fail.

Based on the rhetoric from the Palestinians,
he's already failing spectacularly:

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said in a Monday night interview with Palestinian news source Ma'an that "Israel was free to call itself the Israeli Zionist Jewish Empire."

The PA leader made cynical remarks to Maan shortly after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called upon Abbas to recognize Israel as a Jewish state.

Sounds like a real peace partner to me. But maybe - since Barack Obama sees the world in the similar way to Abbas - the president does see him as a valid partner. More valid than the Jews, who - as per Obama - are not allowed to build homes in their biblical capital of Jerusalem (mosques on Ground Zero are OK, though). Abbas is with Obama 100% on this:

Abbas added that negotiations would only continue under a settlement freeze. If the moratorium was extended for one month, he would remain in peace talks for one month, he said.

When these talks fail, it seems as if Obama and Abbas have already agreed to blame Israel. Maybe Obama can then refer to Israel as "the Israeli Zionist Jewish Empire."

I'm sure, behind closed doors, he has called them worse...

Desperate: Florida Democrats Reveal Allen West's SS#; New Jersey Democrats Target Jon Runyan's Daughters

...file this one under, "if it were a Republican committing this type of heinous act against a black candidate, it would be national news. But since any black Republican is no more than an Uncle Tom..."

The Florida Democratic Party sent out a mailer last week detailing Republican congressional challenger Allen West’s 2005 tax lien and court orders to pay delinquent credit card bills. West is challenging Democratic U.S. Rep. Ron Klein.

The document, pulled from public records, includes a column titled “Identifying Number” that shows West’s nine-digit Social Security number. Although the number isn’t specifically identified as a Social Security number, West campaign manager Josh Grodin said there is no mistaking what the number is.

West called the mailer “an unprecedented new low in American politics.”

It is. What's next, Democrats sending out operatives to surreptuiously photograph the pre-teen daughters of Republican candidates while they play in their yards? Oh, wait -
welcome to New Jersey....

Police are investigating an alleged trespassing incident involving a Democratic campaign volunteer and the family of Republican congressional candidate Jon Runyan.

Last Wednesday, Fredric C. Samson of Mount Holly allegedly trespassed on the Runyans' Mount Laurel property and took photographs as their youngest daughter, Isabella, played in the front yard, according to a Mount Laurel Police report.

The 8-year-old went into the house and told her mother that Samson was standing in the driveway, according to Jon Runyan. Loretta Runyan, a former Houston police officer, got into her car and followed Samson for four miles until he stopped at Rep. John Adler's Evesham campaign office.

Runyan notified both her husband and 911 using her OnStar system, he said.

Really, folks - just how smart are the Democrats, exactly? Do you really want people like Runyan - a former NFL offensive tackle who stood at 6-7,330 pounds - and a
hardened combat vet like West angrier than they already are?

Seriously, look at our new future - a world where, if we stray from the party line, we will be left open to financial ruin, and our children will be considered legitimate targets...

So THIS is why Stephanie Seymour's husband left her...

Maybe he got sick of stick-thin coke addicts? Or am I the only one who thinks this was an upgrade, albeit a temporary one?

The New York Post gives us the woman that media mogul Peter Brant dumped the ubermodel for, Miss Alyssa Pallett:

OK, they're done now, but that's not the point. Alyssa Platt is what a woman should look like - not an asexually size 0, but round and curvy and maybe a little big but still put together well and who smile and....
Well, I've posted on this at length before (with pictures, for the curious...)

"It's Witchcraft..."

Man, the smear merchants of the Democratic/Media complex are going to have to do better than this if they hope to bring down Christine O'Donnell, who is getting more deft at handling the media and her critics:

Republican Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell is making light of comments she made more than a decade ago when she was in high school about having dabbled in witchcraft.

“How many of you didn’t hang out with questionable folks in high school?” she asked fellow Republicans at a GOP picnic in southern Delaware on Sunday.

“There’s been no witchcraft since. If there was, Karl Rove would be a supporter now,” O’Donnell jokingly assured the crowd.

While the media obsesses over Miss O'Donnell's teenage angst, they steadfastly miss
the two mouths that her opponent, bearded Marxist/Democrat Chis Coons, is speaking out of...in the Delaware Senatorial debate, he said:

Borrowing a line from Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.), Coons suggested the race would be fought on issues important to Delaware voters, rather than in the national media spotlight. “It’s often said that this is Joe Biden’s seat,” Coons said. “It’s not. It’s Delaware’s seat.”

But while posting on Daily Kos, he phrases it a bit...
differently:

We cannot let Joe Biden’s seat fall into ultraconservative hands...

Because that line of attack worked so well for Martha Coakly in Massachusetts.

The media ignores it, hoping to destroy Christine O'Donnell with the "nuts and sluts" assault. Alas for them, the American people will not be dazzled by this second-rate sorcery....

Sing it, Frank!

Charlie Crist Is Going To Disneyland! On Donor Money!

Let us be glad this stooge decided to quit the Republican party before we had to run him out on a rail. The Miami Herald reports:

Gov. Charlie Crist and the disgraced former chairman of the Florida Republican Party took family vacations on party money, an audit released by the state GOP Friday shows.

The two men and their families vacationed at Disney World in June 2009 and put the $13,435.99 bill on the party's American Express credit card, according to the audit. Greer also took three personal vacations to fashionable Fisher Island near Miami Beach, one including Crist, at a cost of $10,992.17, auditors reported. Crist's wife, Carole, owns a home on the island.

Crist, who bolted the GOP in April to seek a U.S. Senate seat as an independent, denied not paying his own way at any time.

Technically not illegal, perhaps. But imagine, with this sense of personal entitlement, what Charlie Crist would have done with taxpayer dollars should he have ever reached the Senate.

Sorry, Charlie. Public office isn't for souless looters anymore...

Tuning Out Barack, Tuning In Sarah

Who, among our wise men, would have predicted that a mere 20 months into Barack Obama's presidency, that the man with the golden tongue, brilliant intellect, and pigmented skin would be as interesting to the American people as the Pittsburgh Pirates playing out the string?
And who among our wise men would have predicted that, at the 20 month point, the president's position as the most powerful political figure in America would have been usurped by...Sarah Palin?

Dr. Zero expounds:

Let me put this bluntly: virtually no one in America gives a damn what Barack Obama says about anything at this point. What could be more predictable, and less interesting, than Obama’s opinion on any given subject? Who wants to contemplate the economic wisdom of a guy who looted the Treasury for a trillion dollars, with less benefit than we could have achieved by stuffing hundred dollar bills into random cereal boxes? Who’s excited to hear about the next plan to convert taxpayer dollars into Democrat campaign funds? Who’s hungry for another hour of tedious excuses about permanently broken markets and the titanic dead hand of George W. Bush? Who wants a lecture on ethical business practices from the titular head of the party that gave us Charlie Rangel and Maxine Waters? What use is another hollow foreign-policy speech from a man who sees no global adversary to rival the menace of Arizona? Even Obama’s supporters don’t hear anything he says any more. There’s nothing left to hear.

Palin, on the other hand, commands attention. Lots of it comes from people who dislike her, of course, but she definitely gets people talking. Many of her detractors have a surprising ability to quote her verbatim, stretching back for weeks. Obama’s critics need Google searches to remember what he said yesterday. They can only recall that it was boring, and expensive.

Like her or dislike her, political figures are lining up for Sarah's blessing, for it is not unlike the political gift of life. Joe Miller in Alaska, Kelly Ayotte in New Hampshire, and yes, Christine O'Donnell in Delaware - these people are nowhere without Sarah's approving wink. Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Sharron Angle - all candidates that were pushed to the top by Sarah's love. And almost all of them will win election in November, making Sarah Palin the driving force behind the opposition to Barack Obama that will be seated in January 2011.

As Barack shrinks before a job he was never qualified for, Sarah Palin rises to perhaps what was her true calling - vanguard of the second American Revolution, a conservative revolution, a revolution that never would have taken place had she and John McCain won the 2010 election.

Life, like politics, is funny. Although I'd bet my last pretax dollar that Barack Obama ain't laughing...

Christine O'Donnell: Crazy Like A Fox

As of this writing, the "can't win" Tea-Party backed Republican nominee for Senate in Delaware has raised...close to $1.8 million dollars since winning the primary on Tuesday night.

Regardless, the Democrats will now need to commit resources to win this race....resources that will be taken from Russ Feingold, from Barbara Boxer, from Patty Murry, and all the other Democrats hanging by a thread.

Christine O'Donnell may or may not win the election in Delaware...but she just may give control of the Senate to the Republicans regardless.

The establishment should be on their knees, thanking her. Flippin' ingrates...

(See the "evidence" the Left puts forth regarding Christine's sanity. If she's nuts, we all are...)

Why Lisa Murkowski Should F*ck Charlie Crist

And yet another of the miracles of the 2010 primary season is the uncloaking, within the Republican party, of the elitists, the opportunists, of those who have no loyalty to party or philosophy, save that of one: The empowerment of themselves.

Lisa Murkowski - who, we should remember, was originally appointed to her Senate seat by her father Frank Murkowski, Alaska's governor from 2002 to 2006 - apparently is entitled to that seat, despite the voters of her party who feel otherwise. Why? Even she cannot say; or perhaps she fears to look deep enough inside herself to see the ugly truth. Regardless, she is apparently going to mount a write-in campaign against rightful Republican nominee Joe Miller and Democratic candidate 'old what's-his name. Politico reports:

...the senator, en route from Washington, D.C. to Anchorage for her planned Friday evening announcement, phoned supporters from her connection in the Minneapolis Airport to let them know she had decided to mount a write-in campaign.

Murkowski's supporters, meanwhile, have planned an event this afternoon for the senator in anticipation of her planned announcement, which they advertised as a “kick off” for her write-in campaign.

Jack told POLITICO that he received word early this morning that she should start making calls for today’s event, during which the senator would ask supporters to “write in her name and fill in the oval.”

Other supporters forwarded e-mail invitations to the Murkowski event with the slogan, “MUR KOW SKI. See it. Spell it. Write it. Check the box.”

Because she wants to be Senator, don't you see. Because she doesn't believe the people have any right to strip her of her power. Because her need for self-aggrandizement is more important than our need for the democratic system to run its course. Because she is Lisa f*ckin' Murkowski, and that is all that matters, even more than the Republicans losing control of the Senate because of one woman's ego in Alaska.

It's about her. Not the party which has supported her, not the will of the people, and not the future of our nation.

Worse than Mike Castle, who simply went off and sulked in the corner after his loss to Christine O'Donnell. More like Charlie Crist, who left the Republican party after voters rejected his embrace of Barack Obama (which was , of course, expedient at that particular moment).

A lot like Charlie Christ, actually. The two of them should get together, Lisa and Charlie. Their existential nothingness gives them something in common. Maybe they should fuck. They'd be like Mickey Rourke and Faye Dunaway in Barfly. Or Nicholas Cage and Elizabeth Shue in Leaving Las Vegas. Empty, soulless vessels, living for the moment, willing to sell themselves to the next highest bidder that comes along, no matter what humiliations it may entail.

We are the better for having exposed Lisa and Charlie, and we will be the better for being rid of them, come November 2nd...

(UPDATE: See RS McCain for the best tweet on Murkowski's write in campaign so far...)

Barack Obama & Ohio: Reversal of Fortune

Jennifer Rubin:

Overall, Ohio voters disapprove of Obama’s performance by a stunning 60 to 38 percent margin. In 2008, Obama carried the state by a 52 to 47 percent margin. That is about as stunning a reversal in political standing as you will find in American politics.

What does this say about the rank-and-file, blue-collar, union vote in general? After all the favors done for "Big Labor", will the members that make it up abandon Barack Obama and the Democrats, and vote for tax-cutting Republicans in the hope that the rich will finally get back to spending - and building, and creating wealth - again?

The final repudiation of liberalism, from those who were supposed to benefit from it the most...
