Mumbai Terrorists: Delivering Extra Pain To The Jews?

Seems like the filthy savages who slaughtered scores in Mumbai in the name of Islam had a little something extra special in store for their Jewish/Israeli hostages:

...The other doctor, who had also conducted the post-mortem of the victims, said: "Of all the bodies, the Israeli victims bore the maximum torture marks. It was clear that they were killed on the 26th itself. It was obvious that they were tied up and tortured before they were killed. It was so bad that I do not want to go over the details even in my head again," he said.

Corroborating the doctors' claims about torture was the information that the Intelligence Bureau had about the terror plan. "During his interrogation, Ajmal Kamal said they were specifically asked to target the foreigners, especially the Israelis," an IB source said.

The seething hatred of Islam, channeled into anti-Semitism (and anti-Americanism, to a lesser extent) has become the hallmark of the religion.

Don't like it? Claim I am lumping too many fish into the same barrel? Too f*cking bad. If the moderate Muslim exisits, he should be screaming his head off right now about the animals that speak in his name, the ones who declare fealty to the religion of Islam by murdering innocents and torturing Jews wherever they may be found.

Seems like I hear a lot of silence out there. Nothing from the Muslim side of things, and very little in the media about the special selection of Israelis and Jews for specific torture and execution.
Munich? Entebbe? And now Mumbai added to the list? At least in the cases of the former, the media spoke to what was obvious: The selection of Jews for extermination. And why not now?

Cowards? Or complicit in the crime? For either group, their silence speaks volumes about who they really are, and what they really believe...

Final word goes to Melanie Phillips, via Israel Matzav:

The atrocities demonstrated with crystal clarity what the Islamist war is all about – and the western commentariat didn’t understand because it simply refuses to acknowledge, even now, what that war actually is. It does not arise from particular grievances. It is not rooted in ‘despair’ over Palestine. It is not a reaction to the war in Iraq. It is a war waged in the name of Islam against America, Britain, Hindus, Jews and all who refuse to submit to Islamic conquest.

Somebody telling Barack Obama this? Or is he too busy working on his customized Presidential seal? The coming of the infamous "3AM Call" is almost upon us...

More at Gateway Pundit, who's been on top of Mumbai since the beginning...

UPDATE: So you don't think this is a "race war"? Why not ask the guys who are doing the killing? Via LGF, who tells us of the confession of surviving terrorist Azam Amir Kasav:

At the railway station, Azam and his colleague opened fire, targeting Caucasian tourists while trying to spare Muslims.

UPDATE II: See what the Bollywood types have to say here; more useful idiots here...

Flop Of The Week: Rosie O'Donnell

How could I let so many days go by without mocking the spectacular failure of fat blowhard Rosie O'Donnell in her attempt to produce a modern version of the once-ubiquitous television variety show? Mock, I must!

First
the facts:

The network's attempt to revive the primetime variety show failed to draw an audience Wednesday night, tying for the evening's lowest-rated program. A mere 5 million viewers tuned in for the 8 p.m. premiere of "Rosie Live," with the program earning a 1.2 preliminary adults 18-49 rating. The telecast matched ABC's recently canceled "Pushing Daisies" as the night's lowest-rated program on a major broadcast network. NBC had high hopes for the special and planned to expand the program into a series should viewers re-embrace the decades-old variety format.

Now some commentary, same link:

Gee, let's give a show to an obnoxious, unattractive lesbian, and then when it flops, we'll blame the format.

More commentary, from TV Guide:

If the TV variety format weren't already dead, the ghastly ego trip of NBC's Thanksgiving-eve turkey
Rosie Live would surely have killed it. Like the pie Alec Baldwin predictably pushed into Conan O'Brien's face that fell to the floor without sticking, the entire hour landed with a sickening, sad, ill-conceived thud. It felt like an off night at America's Got Talent, bookended by wobbly appearances from Liza Minnelli and Gloria Estefan, each forced to perform with the caterwauling host, Rosie O'Donnell.

Well, it's about time someone besides political bloggers called out Rosie for "caterwauling"; 'cause she's certainly been screeching for a while now:

You know [President Bush] invaded a sovereign nation [Iraq] in defiance of the U.N. He is basically a war criminal! He should be tried in the Hague!

Don't fear the terrorists. They’re mothers and fathers."

Rosie on 9/11: ...I do believe it's the first time in history that fire has melted steel...

Rosie On Christianity: Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America.

And maybe it's not just her ugly anti-Americanism that has forced the nation to avert their eyes from the rotound Ms. O'Donnell, but her purile behavior as well:

...
Rosie's chief writer, Janette Barber, was allegedly escorted from the building after she was caught drawing moustaches on photographs of Hasselbeck that hang in the "View" studios.
There were also rumors O'Donnell was so angry after her argument with Hasselbeck that she trashed her dressing room....

Now then, it is agreed - there are plenty of reasons to hate Rosie O'Donnell, but no reasons to give up on the variety show format. Look how well it can be done, when executed properly:

Finally - here's the best news we heard all day:

Her [Rosie's] variety show Wednesday evening was
such a flop that she not only believes it won't be picked up for additional installments, but she is also thinking "maybe just me on tv is done."

From your mouth to God's ears, Rosie...

Hey Obama! Your Radicals Are Showing...

For every "pragmatic" high-level appointee Barack Obama makes, he hands a lower profile - but sometimes equally important - position to a liberal radical. Here, for instance....

And today Gateway Pundit reports on the return of the positively loathesome anti-Israeli, anti-Semite Samantha Power to Barack Obama's team of advisors:

State Department officials said Friday that Samantha Power is among foreign policy experts the president-elect's office selected to help the incoming administration prepare for Clinton's anticipated nomination as secretary of state. The Obama transition team's Web site includes Power's name as one of 14 members of the "Agency Review Team" for the State Department.

This is the same Samantha Power who accused Israel of human rights violations....

See here for a horrific clip of this hateful, elitist, clueless wretch in action. She uses code words and phrases - snickering through some of them, unable to keep a straight face - such as the need to "alienate a domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import".

Say it Sammy! Say Jeeeeewwwwwwwwsssss, just the way your filthy terrorist buddies do!

What policies does Samantha Powers endorse for the Middle East? If you work your way through the video's code words, it's pretty simple:

1) “Alienate” the American Jewish community, and indeed all Americans, such as evangelical Christians, who support the state of Israel, because 2) Israeli leaders are “destroying the lives of their own people.” 3) Pour billions of dollars of the taxpayers’ money into “the new state of Palestine”; 4) Stage an American ground invasion of Israel and the Palestinian territories — what else can she mean by a “mammoth protection force” and a “military presence” that will be “imposed” by “external intervention”? — in order to do the exact same thing that she considers the height of arrogance and foolishness in Iraq: an American campaign to remake an Arab society; 5) and Ariel Sharon and Yassir Arafat were on the same moral level

In the last one, she quotes New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman as her source. Great. An Upper West Side psuedo-intellectual, who plays Sunday Times quote games with her liberal girlfriends over brunch...

I wrote abouth this know-nothing bitch back in Feb '08 in a post entitled Barack Obama: "Hope" for More Anti-Semitism? Here was some of her "blame Israel first" rhetoric at that time:

... America’s important historic relationship with Israel has often led foreign policy decision-makers to defer reflexively to Israeli security assessments, and to replicate Israeli tactics, which, as the war in Lebanon last summer demonstrated, can turn out to be counter-productive.

And here is another arena where she is the spiritual sister of Barack Obama - the "victims" of Guantanamo Bay:

To strip a group of individuals – no matter what blood some number of them have on their hands – of the most fundamental constitutional rights sends a signal to the rest of the world that there are two sets of human rights that we believe in: one robust set that Americans get to enjoy, and another much diminished set that those perceived as hostile to us get to enjoy.

And what the hell is wrong with that? Can't one free every killer and child molestor from our prison system on the same grounds? Holy sweet Jeebus....

So fear not, hardcore Lefties, liberal radicals, and changeophiles! Change is coming in the Obama administration, and it is the best kind of all - that which will likely kill thousands of Jews!

So be patient, let him appoint his high-profile moderates, and watch with hidden glee whom he leans on for advice and guidance; whom is appointed to his panels of "experts".

Obama's playing a distraction game while slipping in more and more radical-thinking personnel into his inner circle. But he's smart enough to know the media will fall for it; they're too busy watching the pretty birdie to notice that the magician stacking the deck...

The New York Times Smears Skeptics of Global Warming!

Well, they smeared the man who is about to become the most vocal face of the growing "global warming is bullsh*t" chorus, anyway. That would be the brave anti-Communist poet and politician Vaclav Klaus, president of the Czech Republic - and soon be the president of the European Union.

Obviously, the Times - acting as the chief mouthpice of the Church of Global Warming - cannot let this rise go unpunished, so they try to smear Vaclav in classic Times style - by quoting enemy propoganda as if it is gospel. Hey, it worked with the Iraq War!

Via the Sydney Morning Herald:

As the Czech President, Vaclav Klaus, an economist, anti-totalitarian and climate change sceptic, prepares to take up the rotating presidency of the European Union next year, climate alarmists are doing their best to traduce him.

The New York Times opened a profile of Klaus, 67, this week with a quote from a 1980s communist secret agent's report, claiming he behaves like a "rejected genius", and asserts there is "palpable fear" he will "embarrass" the EU.

But the real fear driving climate alarmists wild is that a more rational approach to the fundamentalist religion of global warming may be in the ascendancy - whether in the parliamentary offices of the world's largest trading bloc or in the living rooms of Blacktown.

As the global financial crisis takes hold, perhaps people are starting to wonder whether the so-called precautionary principle, which would have us accept enormous new taxes in the guise of an emissions trading scheme and curtail economic growth, is justified, based on what we actually know about climate.

Why is the Times so afraid of Klaus? Check out this Q&A with a EuroMedia-weenie, and feel the tremble in the institutions of the liberal elite:

Q: On Wednesday, the European Commission (EC) has approved limits on carbon dioxide emissions for new cars. One week ago, the U.N. climate panel (IPCC AR4) released a report that has described, much like previous reports, the global warming as one of the major threats for the whole civilization. The Stern review about similar threats was published before that. At the same time, you decide to declare that the global warming is a myth. Try to explain, how did you get your idea?

A: The idea is not mine. Global warming is a myth and I think that every serious person and scientist says so. It is unfair to refer to the United Nations panel. IPCC is not a scientific body: it's a political institution, a kind of non-government organization with green flavor. It's not a forum of neutral scientists or a balanced group of scientists. Its members are politicized scientists who arrive there with one-sided sentiments and one-sided tasks. Also, it's an undignified practical joke that people don't wait for the complete report that will appear in May 2007 but instead react, in such a serious manner, to the summary for policy makers where all the "ifs" and "whens" and "buts" are scratched, erased, and replaced by oversimplified theses.

This is obviously such an incredible failure of so many people, from journalists to politicians... If the European Commission were instantly going to buy such a trick, we would have another solid reason to think that the countries themselves, not the Commission, should be deciding about similar matters.

Q: How do you explain that we can't see any other comparably senior statesman in Europe who would defend your viewpoint? No one else seems to offer such strong opinions...

A: My opinions about this issue simply are strong. Other top-tier politicians do not express their global warming doubts because a whip of political correctness strangles their voices.

The SMH is right, Klaus is right, the Times is wrong, and will be on the losing side of history, again. Ironic that just as the Left has taken its firmest hold on power in America since 1992, the public (European as well as our own) is turning against the fallacy of its "global warming = death!" mantra in a big, big way. Late to the party, as usual...

Doesn't mean they won't try to force some economically deadly "cap and trade" schemes and gasoline taxes down our throats anyway. It would likely put said liberals out of a job in two years, but for the Democrats ideology has always trumped reality, anyway. One can only hope...

The article at the link above closes with a great line, incidentally, about the Church of Global Warming's use of its power to smear those who don't hew to its radical dogma:

...you can't stop people [from] thinking. Yet.

Yet...

Another Thing I Am Thankful For...

...Indian commandos:

Indian commandos were dropped by helicopter onto the roof of a Jewish center in Mumbai, where suspected Islamist militants are holding at least 10 Israelis, live television pictures showed on Friday.

The Jewish Center was one of three pockets in the country's financial capital where Indian forces were battling to flush out die-hard militants, more than 24 hours after a band of heavily armed fighters killed at least 119 people in coordinated attacks.

A Reuters witness said security forces fired into the Jewish center, apparently to provide cover, as commandos rappelled down a rope from the helicopter.

It's been a while since we seen this type of international bravery to protect Jews; kudos to the Indian government for not attempting any negotiations with these animals, or awaiting a UN resolution before storming the building....

Hey, Mr. Obama - you watchin' this?

Thanking Those Whom Guard Us As We Sleep...

This Thanksgiving, conservatives — and all Americans — should be grateful for the heritage of the American warrior. The men and women who, while we debate ideas and count votes, keep their eye — and their rifle sights — on America's most vicious enemies. From Washington to Teddy to Ike to Petraeus, our warriors pursue victory, at great personal sacrifice, even when facing grim prospects, mighty enemies, and waning support; and it’s incumbent upon us to maintain the warrior ethos that served these Americans, and all of us, well. The liberties they fought (and fight) for are distinctly American blessings; and as conservatives, we are wise to remember our unique American responsibility to preserve them.

I once heard a friend boast, “the Republican Party is the lynch-pin of the free world." Wrong. I would modify to say “the American conservative is the lynch-pin of the free world." Conservatives — Republican and Democrat — should be grateful for the burden of maintaining, sustaining, and promoting the distinctly American ethos that says we shall “pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, and oppose any foe in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty." An awesome burden for which to be grateful.

- Lt. Pete Hegseth
(Served in Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division from 2005 to 2006; executive director of Vets for Freedom)

Thanksgiving Proclamation - November 1st, 1782

State of New-Hampshire. In Committee of Safety, Exeter, November 1, 1782 : Ordered, that the following proclamation for a general thanksgiving on the twenty-eighth day of November instant, received from the honorable Continental Congress, be forthwith printed ...

STATE OF NEW-HAMPSHIRE. IN COMMITTEE of SAFETY,EXETER, November 1, 1782.
ORDERED,THAT
the following Proclamation for a general THANKSGIVING on the twenty-eighth day of November, received from the honorable Continental Congress, be forthwith printed, and sent to the several worshipping Assemblies in this State, to whom it is recommended religiously to observe said day, and to abstain from all servile labour thereon.M. WEARE, President.
By the United States in Congress assembled.

PROCLAMATION.

IT being the indispensable duty of all Nations, not only to offer up their supplications to ALMIGHTY GOD, the giver of all good, for his gracious assistance in a time of distress, but also in a solemn and public manner to give him praise for his goodness in general, and especially for great and signal interpositions of his providence in their behalf: Therefore the United States in Congress assembled, taking into their consideration the many instances of divine goodness to these States, in the course of the important conflict in which they have been so long engaged; the present happy and promising state of public affairs; and the events of the war, in the course of the year now drawing to a close; particularly the harmony of the public Councils, which is so necessary to the success of the public cause; the perfect union and good understanding which has hitherto subsisted between them and their Allies, notwithstanding the artful and unwearied attempts of the common enemy to divide them; the success of the arms of the United States, and those of their Allies, and the acknowledgment of their independence by another European power, whose friendship and commerce must be of great and lasting advantage to these States:-----

Do hereby recommend to the inhabitants of these States in general, to observe, and request the several States to interpose their authority in appointing and commanding the observation of THURSDAY the twenty-eight day of NOVEMBER next, as a day of solemn THANKSGIVING to GOD for all his mercies: and they do further recommend to all ranks, to testify to their gratitude to GOD for his goodness, by a cheerful obedience of his laws, and by promoting, each in his station, and by his influence, the practice of true and undefiled religion, which is the great foundation of public prosperity and national happiness.

Done in Congress, at Philadelphia, the eleventh day of October, in the year of our LORD one thousand seven hundred and eighty-two, and of our Sovereignty and Independence, the seventh. JOHN HANSON, President. Charles Thomson, Secretary.

New Jersey: Officially Insolvent?

We get more and more evidence of it every day, but in a blue state run by Democrats, nothing is going to change until we hit absolute rock bottom. So let's enjoy the ride, it's going to be a wild one...

Think you 401(k) sucks right now? Well, you know what sucks worse? Counting on the State of New Jersey to fund your retirement:

New Jersey’s pension fund has lost more than $23 billion this year, dropping to its lowest level since 2003 as a collapsing financial market battered its investments, a new state report shows.
The latest losses — nearly $9 billion in October, and another $3 billion so far this month — mean the fund is now worth $57.8 billion, or less than half the $118 billion in benefits it is due to pay out over time. . . .

While Clark delivered his report to the State Investment Council in Trenton, Gov. Jon Corzine was in Atlantic City promising a convention of local government officials that he would let them postpone about a half-billion in payments they are scheduled to make to the pension funds in April.

Who's gonna pay? You will:

"Property taxpayers will shoulder an even greater tax burden in the three years following the gubernatorial election as municipalities raise taxes to pay for this year's pension obligation," said Sen. Kevin O'Toole (R-Essex).

Final thought:

The state of New Jersey is insolvent. Bankrupt might be a better word.

Well, financially, this is a new thing. Morally bankrupt, well, we've been that way at least since McGreevy....

And while the rest of America believes that Obama will bring forth Hope and Change, here in New Jersey there is nothing but doom, gloom, and abject despair:

New Jersey employers -- most of them with 49 or fewer workers -- are gloomy about the financial condition of their businesses and think the economy will only get worse next year, a survey released yesterday said.

Only 17 percent of business owners surveyed said they expect to expand payrolls in 2009, a hiring outlook even weaker than the 2001 recession. Nearly 20 percent said they expect to shrink payrolls. The number of businesses that expect to hire more workers is at the second-lowest level of the past 28 years. And over the past 25 years, only the 1991 survey has produced a more negative employment outlook.

Hey, who cares - they're businessmen, like that greedy Joe the Plumber guy! It is the poor we must care about, the poor, the poor...of which - due to the miserable business client produced by our local Democrats - we keep seeing more and more of in New Jersey. And they all need free health care!

More than a quarter-million New Jersey children lack health insurance and that number is likely to grow as the economy deteriorates, a report released yesterday predicted.
We're at the brink of a crisis and things are going to get worse," Cecilia Zalkind of the Association for Children of New Jersey said in response to the report. "Those numbers are probably higher now."

Maybe a tax on businesses - to pay for a tissue for every kid that has a cold on top of the healthcare for their own employees - would help solve the problem!
And maybe New Jersey businesses know this - hence their dismal outlook and reluctance to hire. Greedy bastards!

(Incidentally, the article above slams Bush for not expanding SCHIP, then notes the following - The Families USA report notes that the number of uninsured children nationally actually declined by 521,000 between 2006 and 2007, saying it could be an indication that some transferred to private insurance. So Bush was right! Somebody alert the Star-Ledger...)

Corzine and the state Democrats are pathetic, not a man amongst the lot of them. Pander and sweep under the rug, they'll do anything to hold onto power for a few more years, no matter how much pain and suffering it will cause New Jersey residents down the road. But we ain't changing - Republicans Suck! -and we'd rather go down with the leaky ship we love than ride one of cold steel - less forgiving, less pretty, but much more likely to keep us alive and vibrant.

Guess it's that attitude that makes New Jersey Progressives so much damn smarter than the rest of us...

Sicko Judge Smirks Behind Legal Mumbo-Jumbo

We posted yesterday on Justice Richard Sanders of the Washington State Supreme Court, the man accused of tormenting Attorney General Michael Mukasey right before he collapsed at an after-dinner speech a few days back.

Although Chicken Sanders has done a pretty good job dodging the media since being outed as the unruly heckler, Amir Efrati of the WSJ.com Law Blog was able to elict some information from him. Sadly, it sheds light on what a sick, disturbed, and appaling human being Judge Sanders truly is:

The Law Blog on Monday caught up with the 63-year-old Sanders. . . . Sanders didn't confirm that he was the one who shouted at Mukasey, but didn't deny it, either. He said he had "no comment except to say that having reviewed the video of the speech" on the Federalist Society's web site, "it doesn't appear that whatever was said was heard by [Attorney] General Mukasey. I left the dinner before the General unfortunately collapsed." He added that "in my mind a heckler is someone who is making repeated comments audible to the speaker [and] you'll see that that just didn't happen."

The Law Blog watched the video and 17 minutes, 30 seconds into it, the heckler's voice is clearly heard and Mukasey glances in his direction before resuming the speech.

James Taranto comments:

Whether or not Sanders has comported himself in a manner befitting a sitting judge, there's no question he is acting like a lawyer.

Yeah, a lawyer who has a client that he knows is guilty! Bad behavior enough from any person, to heckle a well-respected (by both sides of the aisle) Attorney General into a physical collapse. But for a State Supreme Court Justice - the very title connotates seriousness, gravity, and intelligence - to commit this type of offense, then to dance around it while not denying it (or apologizing), is nothing short of disgraceful, and yet another blot on yet another American institution.

Will the state of Washington move to impeach this judge for not being able to "comport" himself in a manner befitting his robe?

Wait - we did say Washington, right? Sh*t, they'll probably give him a medal for "bravery" and appoint him to a lifetime term...

Will Obama Close All Catholic Hospitals?

Policy - and rhetoric - often have ramifications far beyond the crowd applauding before you.

For instance - Auxiliary Bishop Thomas Paprocki of Chicago warned of "devastating consequences" to the health care system, insisting Obama could force the closure of all Catholic hospitals in the country.

How? Here's how:

If the Freedom of Choice Act passes Congress, and that's a big if, Obama has promised to sign it the second it hits his desk.

Here is Barack Obama at a Planned Parenthood Action Fund event in 2007, vowing, "The first thing I'd do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That's the first thing I'd do."

Though it's often referred to as a mere codification of Roe, FOCA, as currently drafted, actually goes well beyond that: According to the Senate sponsor of the bill, Barbara Boxer, in a statement on her Web site, FOCA would nullify all existing laws and regulations that limit abortion in any way, up to the time of fetal viability. Laws requiring parental notification and informed consent would be tossed out.

While there is strenuous debate among legal experts on the matter, many believe the act would invalidate the freedom-of-conscience laws on the books in 46 states. These are the laws that allow Catholic hospitals and health providers that receive public funds through Medicaid and Medicare to opt out of performing abortions. Without public funds, these health centers couldn't stay open; if forced to do abortions, they would sooner close their doors. Even the prospect of selling the institutions to other providers wouldn't be an option, the bishops have said, because that would constitute "material cooperation with an intrinsic evil."

The bishops are not bluffing when they say they'd turn out the lights rather than comply....

Do Barack Obama and the Democrats realize the peril they will put the nation in, in order to fulfill their dream of a "McBortion's" on every street corner? Or will ideology trump reality, as it so often does with the Democratic party ("We have lost in Iraq" - Harry Reid)? Based on recent personnel moves, it seems as if the Democrats feel as if they still have a lot of unpaid debts to the abortion lobby....the Left forgets that despite the most recent election, America is still a center-right nation....

Incidentally - do the Democrats even believe there is a health care crisis in this country, or are they looking to create one in order to nationalize heathcare?

Do not underestimate the machinations of those who wish to accumulate power....

Did Wacko Judge Cause AG's Faint?

As is well known, last week Attorney General Michael Mukasey fainted at a Federalist Society dinner while giving a speech. His episode occured shortly after he was heckled by an unknown man in the audience.

Well, unknown at that particular time. James Taranto has more:

It appears that the man who heckled Attorney General Michael Mukasey--shouting "Tyrant! You are a tyrant!"--was a (state) Supreme Court justice from Washington.

On Friday's episode of Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor," Wendy Long of the Judicial Confirmation Network identified the heckler as Justice Richard B. Sanders of the Washington state Supreme Court. We emailed Sanders last night asking if he was the heckler. We have not received a response.

We were seated close enough to the heckler to note that he was at Table 50--Sanders's assigned table, according to the dinner program.....

Easy enough to write this off as just another sick liberal brimming with Bush Derangement Syndrome, but the fact that he is a state Supreme Court jurist certainly gives one pause. Some of the angry and immature rants on his website certainly do not build any confidence in this man's already questionable character.

According to his bio:

... since taking his seat on the Supreme Court, Justice Sanders has served as an adjunct professor teaching appellate advocacy at the UW School of Law...

Well, perhaps his contemporaries at this institution of "higher learning" are pleased by his purile outburst; and I am sure he can brag to his comrades at the next departmental function how he took the United States Attorney General down a peg. The fact that he might have almost caused his death, of course, will be sauce for the goose amongst the University crowd...

Well, "Washington represents!", I guess, and I hope the state is proud of their elected jurist. Personally, if there is a judicial misconduct code that covers heckling a public official, it should be applied to Judge Sanders with extreme prejudice. At the very least, one suspects that he did not "maintain the dignity appropriate to judicial office", as required by Washington statute.

It is the state of Washington though, a liberal hellhole where this type of behavior is condoned rather than condemned. He'll likely get re-elected, and when what goes around finanlly comes around, the people of Washington will whine and scream like the little bitches they apparently are....

Incidentally - if this was a Democratic AG who was heckled into a faint by a conservative nutjob judge, don't you think the media would have paid a bit more attention to the identity of the culprit? Just asking, is all....

Substitute "New Jersey" for "California"...

...and this little essay by Victor Davis Hanson is spot-on:

California is now a valuable touchstone to the country, a warning of what not to do. Rarely has a single generation inherited so much natural wealth and bounty from the investment and hard work of those more noble now resting in our cemeteries—and squandered that gift within a generation....

We did not invest in many dams, canals, rails, and airports (though we use them all to excess); we sued each other rather than planned; wrote impact statements rather than left behind infrastructure; we redistributed, indulged, blamed, and so managed all at once to create a state with about the highest income and sales taxes and the worst schools, roads, hospitals, and airports....

We can’t build a new nuclear plant; can’t drill a new offshore oil well; can’t build an all-weather road across the Sierra; can’t build a few tracts of new affordable houses in the Bay Area; can’t build a dam for a water-short state; and can’t create even a mediocre passenger rail system.

New Jersey too was blessed with an abundance of natual resources and geographical potential, and we squandered it all to protect invisible fish and illegal immigrants. We, like the residents of California, should feel great shame in what we wasted....

Here Come The Radicals!

The media is thrilled with Obama's so-called moderate appointments; even some on the right are becoming complacent with what they see as virtually a second Clinton presidency (hey, we survived the first one, there is comfort in familiarity).

But these are the type of people we can also expect to see in the halls of power with Barack Obama as president:

Ellen Moran, executive director of EMILY’s List, was named White House communications director by President-elect Obama on Saturday.

Moran, a well-known grassroots organizer, has also managed statewide Democratic campaigns and managed the Wal-Mart corporate accountability campaign for the AFL-CIO.

EMILY's List, one of the most important Democratic constituency groups, says it is "dedicated to building a progressive America by electing Democratic pro-choice women to office."

So let's see - an outspoken advocate for slaughtering as many unborn Americans as may be convenient will now become the face of the administration. A woman who worked as hard as she could to bring down Wal-Mart - the great American economic equalizer and perhaps the only place where many folks will even be able to shop this holiday season - will have the President's ear. A woman who wants to build a "progressive" America (read: radically liberal) that caters to the whims of her upscale backers. A woman who will have no problem destroying another women (ie: Sarah Palin) if she gets in her way of putting a McBortions on every street corner. A lobbyist for a radical left-wing mailing list - that's who Ellen Moran is.

Amd that is whom Obama has chosen to be his director of administration communications, to the rest of America and to the rest of the world. How glumly appropriate.

Twilight of the Global Warming "Crisis"?

Easy to fret about global warming when you've got nothing else to fret about; but when the economy is collapsing all around you, and food, shelter, and gas are no longer taken for granted but are items that are becoming difficult to obtain, well....one worries less about a 0.00000001 degree change in temperature, no?

GE, which owns NBC Universal, which owns The Weather Channel, is more concerned about its own day to day survival than about Boomer propoganda. So
they did the right thing, even if it was for the wrong reasons:

NBC Universal made the first of potentially several rounds of staffing cuts at The Weather Channel (TWC) on Wednesday, axing the entire staff of the "Forecast Earth" environmental program during the middle of NBC's "Green Week," as well as several on-camera meteorologists.

The timing of the Forecast Earth cancellation was ironic, since it came in the middle of NBC's "
Green Week"...

Forecast Earth was hosted by former CNN anchor Natalie Allen, with contributions from climate expert Heidi Cullen. It was the sole program on TWC that focused on global climate change, which raises the question of whether the station will still report on the subject. Cullen's future role at the network is not known.

NBC should have axed this show due to the falsity of its content. They should have axed this show since it had no place on a station devoted strictly to hard weather data and news. And finally, they should have - but didn't - axe Heidi Cullen, who is the Keith Olberman of The Weather Channel. I wrote a long post about her and the fall of TWC back in January 2007; the reason for
my disdain and disgust with Cullen is easily understood:

The Weather Channel's (TWC) Heidi Cullen, who hosts the weekly global warming program "The Climate Code," [now "Forecast Earth?-ed.] is advocating that the American Meteorological Society (AMS) revoke their "Seal of Approval" for any television weatherman who expresses skepticism that human activity is creating a climate catastrophe.

Should you read the aforelinked post, you can see I lost my love for TWC a while back, but NBC - by keeping Cullen - is making the same mistake they did with MSNBC by elevating opinion and commentary over news and facts. This niche network will not survive ownership's mismanagement or Cullen's hyping of a non-existant threat - a threat that has little resonance in a nation preocuppied with the possible scarcity of basic necessities.

Well, at least they canceled "Forecast Earth", and with delicious timing. They displayed the hypocrisy of the global warming scam while getting rid of one of its principle propoganda organs. Again - the right thing, even it it was for strictly economic reasons....God bless marketplace forces, huh?

More Great Moments in Journalism

From the Washington Post (which has given us so many), here speaking of hard-left Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman's ascent to chairman of the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee:

Waxman's victory also signaled the rise of a younger, more environmentally conscious party....

Really?

Waxman will turn 70 next year. Somebody tell the WaPo....

Incidentally, Waxman's mistakes will be haunting America long after he's dead; by comparison, the "younger" George W. Bush will be around long after his victories are finally realized....

Welcome to our Brave New World...

Michael Jackson: Muslim?

Well, according to the New York Post:

Michael Jackson has become a Muslim and changed his name to Mikaeel.

The 50-year-old superstar donned Islamic garb for the ceremony at a friend's mansion in Los Angeles, The Sun in London reports today.

The former Jehovah's Witness sat on the floor wearing a tiny hat after an imam was summoned to officiate, days before the singer is due at London's High Court in a suit brought by an Arab sheik.

British singer Yousef Islam, 60 - Cat Stevens until he famously converted - turned up to help Jacko celebrate.

No suprise, from a man who said the following about Jews:

"They suck them like leeches ... I'm so tired of it. I'm so tired of it."They start out the most popular person in the world, make a lot of money, big house, cars and everything and end up penniless. It's a conspiracy. The Jews do it on purpose."

And don't forget this little ditty:

Jackson infuriated Jewish groups in 1995 when his song "They Don't Care About Us" included the lyrics "Jew me, sue me, everybody do me, kick me, kike me."

He'll fit in just fine with his new friends (especially raging Jew-hater Cat Stevens, properly banned from the US), and he'll have a popular scapegoat to blame for all of his ills...

eHarmony And The Jersey Shakedown

One would think Governor Corzine's bitch - ah, I mean New Jersey Attorney General Ann Milgram - would be too busy trying to solve the state's endemic crime, corruption, and illegal immigration problems to bother with frivilous legal actions against small businesses for infractions of an unwritten PC code.

Boy, would you be wrong. Annie the Good Liberal knows what her real priorities are, and that's helping the radical gay community commit a shakedown, and getting a fair share of the loot for herself to boot:

Neil Warren, eHarmony's founder, is a gentle, grandfatherly businessman who launched his popular dating site to support heterosexual marriage. An evangelical Christian author with a divinity degree, Warren encourages healthy, lasting unions between men and women of all faiths, mixed faiths or no faith at all.

Want a gay dating website? Go somewhere else, there are a gazillion of them. But no, New Jersey plaintiff Eric McKinley sued eHarmony in 2005 for not allowing gay matchmaking. And of course, the state gleefully jumped right into the fray:

This case is akin to a meat-eater suing a vegetarian restaurant for not offering him a rib-eye. But rather than defend the persecuted business, New Jersey Attorney General Ann Milgram intervened on behalf of the gay plaintiff and wrangled an agreement out of eHarmony to change its entire business model.

The company agreed not only to offer same-sex dating services on a new site, but also to offer six-month subscriptions for free to 10,000 gay users, pay McKinley $5,000 and fork over $50,000 to New Jersey's Civil Rights division "to cover investigation-related administrative costs."

So Ann forced Mr. Warren to overhaul his business model in a way that is at odds with his personal beliefs, forced him to provide services for free to gays, and wrangled $50K out of him to line the pockets of her own department.

So typical of the warped upside-down morality of New Jersey Democrats; Ann Milgram should be their new poster whore. Anyone still wonder why businesses are fleeing New Jersey - a state that has one of the smallest private sector job creation growth in the nation - and we are falling faster and deeper into a recession than any other part of the nation?

Ask the illegal immigrants and the crooked pols, the state is run for their benefit anyway, and your monies are theirs to use as they please...

UPDATE: Via The Agitator, some thoughts on this so-called "victory":

Ultimately, it’ll also be counterproductive. Because if feeds into the (usually, but not always incorrect) claim that the gay rights crowd is forcing its lifestyle onto others.
Freedom of association means that when private parties choose to associate with one another, some people will under some circumstances be excluded. Deal with it.

It's Time To Play "Name That Party"!

Ready? Sure? OK, here we go:

Walt Minnick, a businessman who held a White House post during the Nixon Administration, won election to the U.S. House this year from Idaho. He ran against incumbent Rep. Bill Sali largely on fiscal issues, promising to help rejuvenate the American economy with tax cuts and budget restraint. Minnick also savaged the $700 billion bailout as "fiscal recklessness" and an unjustified transfer of wealth. "This bill is a giveaway to Wall Street," he said. "It does not do enough to protect the American taxpayer, and it adds far too much debt to our record deficit."

Is that your final answer?

And the envelope please....

Walt Minnick is a Democrat.
Bill Sali is a Republican.

And that, my friends, is how the Republican party lost control of the House, Senate, and Executive branch.

Any questions?

More Bad News...

....wonder why the stock market suddenly went kaput today? Maybe because the hard-left portion of the Democratic party is flexing their muscles in Congress, and the business sector can see the writing on the wall:

Rep. Henry Waxman will become chairman of the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee, ousting the more business-friendly Rep. John Dingell in a contest that highlighted the determination of House Democrats to enact a sweeping, activist agenda.

Mr. Waxman's victory ensures that the committee will move in a more liberal direction, especially on energy and climate change. The California Democrat's ascent caused immediate consternation in the already-reeling automobile and coal industries.

Mr. Waxman is widely expected to make passage of climate change legislation a top priority next year. Last month, he joined more than 150 other House Democrats in outlining "principles" for such legislation, including emissions reductions of at least 15% by 2020.
"We have an opportunity that maybe comes only once in a generation," Mr. Waxman said, following a 137-122 vote of House Democrats that was not as close as many expected. "I think that the Democratic caucus agreed with me that we must meet that challenge and move forward."

The current financial crisis, Mr. Waxman suggested, could pave the way for ambitious regulatory action, much as the Great Depression did.

Well, at least Waxman is honest about his attempt to use the current financial turmoil as a smokescree to push radical legislation through Congress and onto the American people. It's funny how he references the Great Depression, because implementation of his business-killing philosophy will bring us back there quicker than we might ever have been able to imagine.

Will the media cover for Obama and the Dems, and balme Bush four years hence? They'll try, but I expect what little credibility they have left will be frittered away long before then....

Barack's Appointees - What A Sorry Lot!

Barack Obama, having no inner circle of his own from which to draw, is choosing Clinton-era bureucrats and weaked-kneed public officials to fill important posts in his cabinet 'o fools. Let's take a look at our new director of Homeland Security, Governor Janet Naplitano of Arizona. Why is she spectacularly unqualified for the postion? Well, gee:

....yes, she was for using National Guard in support roles on the border and declared a bogus "state of emergency" on the border in 2005 mainly for the news coverage, but she's also against fencing on the border, vetoed a slew of bills intended to bring about attrition of the illegal population, including one that would have made illegal immigration a violation of the state's trespassing law, and only signed Arizona's tough employer-sanctions law because she feared voters would pass an even tougher one by referendum if she didn't.

I guess she is as qualified as Obama is, which says a lot. One would have hoped that he would have surrounded himself with some more seasoned, centric hands, but even when he tries that approach, we still wind up with a clown....

Meet Eric Holder, former Clinton administration hack (and child abuser) and future Attorney General who, as U.S. Attorney in Washington D.C, tired to bring the heavy artillery of the drug wars against the feared and dreaded marijuana users:

Eric Holder yesterday said he will seek to make marijuana distribution in the District a felony and reinstate mandatory-minimum sentences for convicted drug dealers. Mr. Holder,...said the D.C. Council's vote a year ago to repeal mandatory minimums was "misguided," leading to a backlog in the court system. He also warned that the city is on the verge of an explosion in violence associated with the sale and use of marijuana...

An "explosion of violence" related to marijuana? Really?
Actually, the marijuana trade has very little violence, since it is so easily grown and produced, and its users are notoriously...relaxed? Happy? Silly? Hungry?
But violent stoners? Isn't that an oxymoron?

I can't wait to see that brilliant intellect applied to our national legal priorities....and it seems as if Governor Janet has some problems of her own as well....

So far, Baracky, I am unimpressed. A sorry bunch of has-beens and never will be's (and that's not even accounting for Tom Daschle, who will try to fulfill his dream of socialized medicine as HHS head), with not a sign of "change" in the bunch.

Nice slogan. But like everything else you said and did, Baracky, there is precious little substance behind it.

Get Your PC Bullspit Off My Sports Page !

Yeah, I'm talking to you, Yahoo!, and to the AP.

Seems like the Seattle Mariners hired Don Wakamatsu as their next manager. Interesting. What's his resume like? Who knows, because the whole damn article was about his race and the torments his parents endured under the United States government:

Don Wakamatsu is proud to be the first Asian-American manager in major league history. He’s also keenly aware of what his grandparents endured, generations before he took over the Seattle Mariners.
During World War II, the United States government moved his Japanese ancestors across the country from one internment camp to another. Wakamatsu’s father, an iron worker, was born in one.

“I’m proud to represent some of what they went through in their lifetime,” Wakamatsu said. “If I can set a future stepping stone for Japanese-Americans and just the equality in baseball, I’m glad to bear that torch.”
A fourth-generation Japanese-American, the former Oakland bench coach was introduced Wednesday as the new manager of the Mariners.

James Wakamatsu, 93, and 91-year-old wife Ruth were hardworking, modest-living fruit growers in Oregon’s Willamette Valley before the U.S. rounded up Japanese living in this country during the war.
The elder Wakamatsus were first sent to live in an internment camp set up in the infield of a horse racing track in Portland. Then they were moved to Tule Lake, Calif., to Jerome, Ark., and to the Chicago area.

“When they got out, they were offered the barracks to buy. They ended up shipping it to Hood River, Ore.,” he said of his grandparents. “As a child, I had no idea I was living in the barracks they were interned in. It blew me away.”

James and Ruth still live in that former part of an internment barracks in Hood River. They were thrilled when their grandson beat out six other candidates to become a major league manager for the first time.

You need to get 15 paragraphs into the story to learn anything about Wakamatsu's experience. Actually, it seems pretty thin:

This 45-year-old relative unknown spent five years as a bench coach and third-base coach in Texas, then one year as bench coach for the A’s before Seattle called. He has never managed above Double-A.

Sounds like the Obama ploy - when you have little to no experience within a field you wish to be employed in, tout your race as your key asset. Although to be fair it does not seem as if Wakamatsu played this card, it seems as if the etnic aspect is the only interesting angle the media could find within the story.

You know what I think is interesting? That his parents bought - and still live in - the barracks they were once interned in. Seems like Wakamatsu's grandparents are quite "over it" and content with their life in America, and are enjoying the little practical joke they played on it as well.

If only the same could be said for our grudge-hunting, race-obsessed, anti-American media ...

The difference between you, and Barack Obama...

....can be found right here:

The problem with Barack: You and I read a Lincoln biography and conclude that Lincoln was great.

Obama reads the same book and concludes that he is Lincoln.

Doomed, doomed we are....

And apparently, Obama isn't the only one who sees the reflection of the Great Emancipator in the mirror....

Left Wingnuts Finally See Their Dream Realized....

....and no, I am not talking about the election of Barack Obama. Retaking power is one thing, extracting revenge on those whom dared to govern while you were fuming on the outside - now that's the good stuff!

Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales have been indicted on state charges involving federal prisons in a South Texas county that has been a source of bizarre legal and political battles under the outgoing prosecutor.

Cheney is charged with engaging in an organized criminal activity related to the vice president's investment in the Vanguard Group, which holds financial interests in the private prison companies running the federal detention centers. It accuses Cheney of a conflict of interest and "at least misdemeanor assaults" on detainees because of his link to the prison companies.

The indictment accuses Gonzales of using his position while in office to stop an investigation in 2006 into abuses at one of the privately-run prisons.

Gonzales' attorney, George Terwilliger III, said in a written statement, "This is obviously a bogus charge on its face, as any good prosecutor can recognize." He said he hoped Texas authorities would take steps to stop "this abuse of the criminal justice system."

This will likely go away in short order, especially when it comes from a grand jury convened by a looney-tune Democrat who up until last month was under indictment himself. A typical comment from the frothing Lefties:

Who was the person who sang that song “We’ve only just begun…..”. I hope this is the first of about 8000 indictments of the Bush crime family.

The actual indictment is meaningless, as I stated above - it will not amount to the proverbial "hill of beans". What is signficant is the response of the Left, the glee they take in the forlorn hope that their political adversaries will be jailed for...being their political adversaries.

The quality of today's politicians is dwindling with each election cycle we enter. If we criminalize politics - by attempting to try folks like Cheney, Gonzales, Bush, and Rove - we only shorten the pool of qualified applicants that wish to enter public service. Who the hell is going to want a job where one can be hounded and jailed for...doing their job?

Obama holds his tounge, as he held his vote back in the days of the Illinois legislature. As does Bush, who hasn't met an insult (unfortunately) that he can't turn his cheek on. Although I would think if one could indict Cheney on charges of "abuse" because he owned a tiny piece of a prison, I can't imagine what you can get Barack on based on his shady "campaign finances" alone. Maybe he should speak up? Terms are finite, but revenge is a dish best served cold.

Someone must speak out about turning the poltical into the criminal. Otherwise, I give you a parliment of fools, knaves, cheats, and simpletons.

Imagine Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader and ultimate mediocrity. Now imagine 535 just like him. Then turn your thoughts towards the executive branch....

In Praise of George W. Bush

I still think our much-maligned leader will go down in history as one of the better presidents - despite the catcalling of the media - and I'd like to take a moment to remind people of one simple fact:

We have won the war in Iraq.

We have won the war in Iraq, and we have done much to change the culture of jihad in the Middle East, because of the resoluteness of George W. Bush

Via 7.62MM Justice:

Of course, the Bush victory has not yet been recognised, which is very odd indeed because it has all happened in full view.

Until 9/11, Islamic militants, including violent jihadists of every sort, from al Qaeda to purely local outfits, enjoyed much public support-either overt or tacit-across most of the Muslim world. From Morocco to Indonesia, governments appeased militants at home while encouraging them to focus their violent activities abroad…

Yet one hears well-informed people casually remark that Bush’s war on terror has been a total failure…. But one need not be Sherlock Holmes to recall that 11th September was meant to be the beginning of a global jihad, with a 12th September, 13th September, 14th September and so on… Instead, the global jihadi mobilisation, triggered by post-9/11 enthusiasm for Osama bin Laden, was stopped before it could gain any momentum by all that Bush set in motion: the destruction of al Qaeda training bases in Afghanistan, the killing or capture of most of its operatives, and, most importantly, the conversion of Muslim governments from the support of jihad to its repression...

We will miss George W. Bush, when the Russian tanks are rolling, the Iranian missiles are flying, the jihadi's bombs are exploding, and the lines for gasoline are around the block....

Well, Obama Is Smarter....

...and after all, Teddy Roosevelt was just another middle-American moose hunter. In other words, a Palin-esque idiot, right? Nevertheless, we'll humor the crowd with a TR classic:

"Walk softly, and carry a big stick."

Ralph Peters says it was the best foreign-policy advice any president left behind for his successors.

Not that Obama needs to follow it - after all, he is The One:

Just as Bush vowed to get Osama "dead or alive," Obama suggested - as he did during the campaign - that he'll get the terror master Bush failed to find. Worse, the president-elect stated that he'll "stamp out al Qaeda once and for all."

Peters, again:

Good luck.

We're all gonna need it. After all, what do dead white men know anyway?

NY Times: Blame The Mormons!

So Proposition 8 passes nicely in liberal California, and thus the new law of the la-la land - for the moment - is that people must be of different genders in order to get married.

Oh, the horror! Or so one would think based on the rage of the gay community - denied a "right" that has never existed, denied the opportunity to redefine an institution that has survived intact for 10,000 years, denied an opportunity to "stick it" to the straights...

See? This is why democracy sucks! How dare the people get the right to choose the moral compass of society! That's what we have three-judge panels for!

So anyway - even though the black population of Californis voted overwhelmingly in support of Prop 8 (by a margin of more than 2-1), the gay community - and the media - has decided that it would be impolitic to take out their fury on those who actually voted for Prop 8, and instead are turning their hatred towards Mormons. The gays activists have already begun harrassing Mormon churches (but no black churches - not that I am encouraging that! Just stating a fact!), now the New York Times gallops in to offer rhetorical support for their twisted crusade:

In the end, Protect Marriage estimates, as much as half of the nearly $40 million raised on behalf of the measure was contributed by Mormons.

....advertisements for the “Yes” campaign also used hypothetical consequences of same-sex marriage, painting the specter of churches’ losing tax exempt status or people “sued for personal beliefs” or objections to same-sex marriage, claims that were made with little explanation.
Another of the advertisements used video of an elementary school field trip to a teacher’s same-sex wedding in San Francisco to reinforce the idea that same-sex marriage would be taught to young children.

“We bet the campaign on education,” Mr. Schubert said.

The “Yes” campaign was denounced by opponents as dishonest and divisive....

Mr. Ashton described the protests by same-sex marriage advocates as off-putting. “I think that shows colors,” Mr. Ashton said. “By their fruit, ye shall know them.”

A few points:

-at least we know who contributed this relatively paltry $20 million sum. Barack Obama still won't tell us who his contributers were....and if we do ever find out, can we storm their homes too?
-"hypothetical consequences"? Isn't any campaign ad, stating what a candidate will do or what his opponent can't do, also hypothetical? And incidentally, although the Times tries to blur the line , the elementary school field trip to a gay wedding ceremony actually did occur. Therefore, gay marriage being taught in school already has crossed the line from hypothetical to fact. Can someone please inform the Times?
-"dishonest and divisive"? No less so for the anti-8 forces, or for the Obama campaign, or for the media's support of said campaign...

Final thought: Prop 8 passed in California by a 52.8 - 47.2 margin, almost exactly the same percentage that Obama won nationally by. So if this vote is to be overturned, despite the, uh, "mandate" given here by the voters, than I want a redo on the November 4th results as well.

Fair? Yeah, about just as fair as the gay community is behaving towards the Mormons right around now...

USA Today: Blame America!

I don't know if anyone really reads USA Today besides folks stranded at airports and hotel guests who get a free copy shoved under the door, but I still thought this inane editorial deserved some reply:

Global meeting signals why U.S. must change its ways

This might some day come to be remembered as the moment when U.S. dominance of the world economy began to end. In fact, several of the participants are already viewing it that way, some gleefully...

Seems like the editorial staff is pretty gleeful about the possibility as well, although they offer no evidence at all to butress their case. Instead, they just zig to their next unproven talking point:

Not so long ago, a meeting like this would have been confined to the Group of 7 nations (the U.S., Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Canada and Italy) or the G-8 (the G-7 plus Russia). This meeting involved the G-20, which includes emerging economies such as those of China, Brazil and India. All blame America for leading the world into this crisis — a fact virtually no one disputes — and all now want a bigger say in how the world economy works.

"A fact virtually no one disputes"? Really? Who did you ask, exactly?

Now while it is most likely true that America's economic downturn hurts the economies of virtually all nations, that's primarily because we as a people are the greatest consumer nation on earth, as well as the greatest producer nation on earth. When we lose our capacity to produce (and thus consume), of course other economies will suffer. But if they "blame" us for this temporary state of affairs, where is the credit from these nations - and from USA Today - that it is our nation's investment power and consumer strength that has help lift all of these other countries into whatever wealth they currently have?

Blame us? They should thank us. But I guess since we are dealing with an "airport daily" here, we should not expect such surface-scratching.

They finish with a nonsensical ending that contradicts the reality of the President and party they worked so hard to elect:

But it will have to lead first by example, changing its habits and turning away from the fantasy that we can borrow our way to prosperity. As President-elect Barack Obama said Saturday, "the road ahead will be long and the work will be hard."

The same Obama that has promised to raise taxes, thus depleting the buying power of American consumers? The same Obama who wants to spend a trillion dollars on nationalized health care? The same Obama who leads a party that is looking to spend an addtional $25 billion to bail out GM, which is the epitome of a company that has tried to "borrow its way to prosperity"?

Dudes, if you want anyone to take your paper seriously...try writing seriously. OK?

Barack Carter offers "Hope" !

Barack Obama makes his first post-election radio address; in which we learn that everything sucks, and the only way to save America is by "sacrifice", and by granting the Democrat's legislative wish list:

That means putting two million Americans to work rebuilding our crumbling roads, bridges, and schools. It means investing $150 billion to build an American green energy economy that will create five million new jobs, while freeing our nation from the tyranny of foreign oil, and saving our planet for our children. It means making health care affordable for anyone who has it, accessible for anyone who wants it, and reducing costs for small businesses. And it also means giving every child the world-class education they need to compete with any worker, anywhere in the world.

Doing all this will require not just new policies, but a new spirit of service and sacrifice, where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. If this financial crisis has taught us anything, it’s that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers....

Yeah, yeah, whatever. Sounds like he's still trying to fob off his personal responsibility for his piss-poor African brother and his beloved slum-dwelling Boston "Auntie" on the federal government...

Sweet Jeebus - I mean really, at least Jimmy Carter waited three years into his term before giving his infamous "malaise" speech...

And what does our crack mainstream media say about all this?

"OMG! He put his speech on YouTube...!!"

Wow.
