Key Corzine Staffer Arrested For Drug Possession/Dealing!
So now we know how Jon Corzine's been funding his campaign:
An official with New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine's re-election campaign was arrested last night after cops found found ecstasy tablets wrapped and ready to be sold in his car, police said.
Officers wound up finding 19 "blue star" ecstasy tablets in Shih's car, each wrapped in its own little plastic bag.
Shih -- who was stopped within 100 feet of Becton Regional High School -- also had "several hundred" empty plastic bags in his car, Conforti said.
Shih told police he worked for Corzine's campaign, and had several campaign-related items in his car, police said. A "Jason Shih" is listed online as a deputy assistant director of the campaign.
Shih was charged with possession of drugs, possession of drugs in a school zone, intent to distribute drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with two motor vehicle violations -- driving while using a cell phone and having drugs in his car.
Well, this will get the crackhead vote out for Corzine, I reckon...but if you still had questions about the governor's judgement, the fact that his deputy ass't campaign director was dealing "X" in a school zone after hours tells you everything you need to know.
Between this ugly incident and his remarks about selling off the Turnpike right after he gets re-elected, one has to wonder if Corzine isn't completely (willingly?) self-destructing here at the end of the game...
UPDATE: JWF has more on how this story is being scrubbed from various websites (including the link above); but beyond a standard denial of knowledge by the Corzine campaign, there is no indication that Shih is lying about his Corzine connection. As a matter of fact, we can see he was working for the New Jersey Democratic party as recently as 2006, which certainly lends credence to his story. NJ.com still has the story up, for now.
If Shih's story is false, I'd like to hear it from someone other than the Corzine flaks, who are not quite famous for their honesty. If the media reported the story incorrectly and has evidence to that fact, they should report that as well.
Unless, of course, we are witnessing some high tech bullying from the Obama folks who have been running the Corzine campaign for some time now...don't put it past them to try to silence this potentially Corzine-killing story with all the weapons and intimidation at their disposal...
Corzine-Christie: Tied Up Going Into The Bottom of The Ninth...
But I'm hanging my hat - and my hopes - on this:
Christie leads by seven points among those who are certain they will show up and vote.
I, for one, am showing up. And I think a lot of Jersey will show up and represent, this Tuesday...
See here for why I think the momentum is going Christie's way...and late-breaking stories like these are not helping Crooked Jon one bit...and add on to this the upcoming $725 billion tax increase and a $1.5 trillion spending program known as "Health Care reform", and it looks like New Jersey may - may - have finally reached the tipping point...

Obama Orders The Troops Into NY-23 !
The offices of the Clinton County Democratic Party here in Plattsburgh -- Owens' hometown -- were busy this afternoon... Staffers were preparing to distribute stacks of door-hanger GOTV cards that tout President Obama's endorsement of Owens, telling voters: "Those standing in the way of Change want you to say home on Tuesday -- don't let them win."
And not to mention rather insightful - using the image and language of restraint by physical force ("Standing in the way...want you to stay home") is bad enough, but by the bringer of hope and change, of all people?
Oh, well. Maybe the lower-left photo of The One gazing over a limitless horizon, alit only by his beneficent smile will convince enough Democrats to come out and vote for Mr. Owens. If not, these bulky men from "The Union" will be more than happy to show you the way...
Corzine Panics; Denies Toll/Tax Increases
The New York Times reported Friday that Corzine would consider reviving an unpopular plan to lease the New Jersey Turnpike to raise money for the cash-strapped Garden State.
Corzine now says that was a mischaracterization of his position.
He says what he meant is that he may generate revenue by allowing advertising on some Turnpike properties, like rest stops.
Yeah, OK., riiiight. If you believe this line of shite from the man who broke every "no-tax" pledge he ever made, well, then I've got a boatload of leftover Hope and Change, with a side of Transparency and Fiscal Responsibility, to sell to you....
It's Christie +3 as Corzine Counts on Fraud...
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state, conducted Thursday night, shows Christie with 46% of the vote and Corzine with 43%. Those numbers are unchanged from earlier in the week and little changed from polling conducted the week before. The last four Rasmussen Reports polls have shown Christie with a very slight advantage ranging from two to four percentage points each time. Christie now leads by eight points among men while Corzine is up by two among women.
Here's the key:
Christie leads by seven points among those who are certain they will show up and vote.
Christie has to win by at least three points, as the Democratic election riggers, who did such a good job in Washington State and in Minnesota, are already working feverishly to create an additional pool of 10,000+ Corzine "votes", should they be necessary. And that's just the professionals; one can bet the small-fry crooks, pension pluggers, and handout queens will be in on the scam as well:
If this turns out to be a very close election, there are a lot of political operatives and Democrats who profit from the patronage system that infests the New Jersey government who are going to be willing to do just about anything to make sure that Jon Corzine is reelected.
I knew a guy who ran for the mayor of a local township; lost the election as a third-party candidate but got a much larger vote total than anticipated. When I next spoke with him to express my condolences, he gave me a wry smile and told me the voting booths were already stocked with hundreds of votes for the Democrats before the polls even opened, and neither he nor the other candidate ever had a chance.
I believe him. That's why a razor-thin win is the same as a loss; and cry as we might about an injustice, there's a greater chance that Eric Holder will convict a Black Panther than ever look into voter discrepancies in Jon "Cash" Corzine's state.
It's all about the turnout...
Haunted By Global Warming !
Of course, the average ghost is only trying to scare you to get you out of a house, or off a sacred ground, or even just to wail about his unjust condition. The Democrats are trying to scare you so that they can simultaneously raise your taxes and throw your level of socio-economic development back to the 18th century.
Man, it's a tough year to be a ghost...!-
Via I Hate The Media
Only Four Days To Jersey's Liberation?
-Corzine's comment to the New York Times about reviving a project that most New Jersey residents were virulently opposed to - leasing the New Jersey Turnpike to raise cash - could turn out to be a major gaffe. Christie, while campaigning in Hamilton Township, exploited it nicely by telling the assembled townfolk they might face the prospect of tolls being imposed on interstates 195 and 295, both of which serve the town. It also reminds Jersey voters of the imperial "I'll do what I want" attitude of Corzine, as well as his general disdain of the electorate's wishes.
-Yeah, Corzine's been bringing Obama to town. Big deal. You can see that assclown on TV any time you flip it on. Christie's got Rudy Giuliani around this weekend, and he's that rare Republican that New Jerseyans - especially independents - like and respect, not just for his 9/11 moment, but for the way he rebuilt NYC from the ashes of liberal ruin.
-Will Pelosi's release of the 2,000-page health care bill be a "poison pill" for Jon Corzine? The planned government takeover of America's health-care sector costs over $1 trillion dollars, including $700 billion in new taxes and $420 billion in Medicare cuts. With this Halloween horror show coming down the 'Pike, will voters pause before flipping the switch next to Corzine, who has refused to rule out raising state taxes further in his second term?
Christie has got to - got to - hammer home the additional tax burden (and toll burden!) that faces New Jersey residents over the next four years of Obama/Corzine. They say people vote with their wallets; Christie needs to point out whose fingerprints are going to be all over them until 2013.
The news cycle has given the Christie campaign a late break. Let's hope - for all our sake's - he uses it to maximum advantage...

The Chavez-ation of America !
President Obama isn’t taking kindly to a television ad that criticizes his opposition to a popular scholarship program for poor children, and his administration wants the ad pulled.
Former D.C. Councilmember Kevin Chavous of D.C. Children First said October 16 that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder had recently approached him and told him to kill the ad.
The 30-second ad, which has been airing on FOX News, CNN, MSNBC, and News Channel 8 to viewers in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, urges the president to reauthorize the federally-funded D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program that provides vouchers of up to $7,500 for D.C. students to attend private schools.
The ad features Chavous and a young boy–one of 216 students whose scholarships were rescinded by the Department of Education earlier this year when the agency announced no new students would be allowed into the program. The ad also includes an excerpt taken from one of Obama’s campaign statements.
“I saw [Holder] at an event,” said Chavous. “He did ask me in front of others to pull the ad. My response was, ‘No, and I tell you what, if the president does the right thing, not only will we pull it but we will celebrate him.’
Chavous has got guts. He knows - hey, he's from "The D.C." - what happens when you don't stand up to bullies...
The Pelosi Plan: A Job-Killer!
The bill defines which businesses are subject to the health care tax based upon the dollar amount of employee payroll. There even is a sliding scale right in the bill (section 501, at page 276) which tops out at 8% for businesses with $750,000 of annual payroll. Annual payroll is defined as the "aggregate wages" paid by the employer.
This provision creates incentives for businesses to keep down payroll. One way would be not to hire anyone whose compensation would fall under the definition of payroll under the bill. In other words, outsource whatever you can.
Jacobson states "They [C ongress & Barack Obama] truly do not understand how the private economy works". And this is correct. Many of these folks, from Max Baucus to Barney Frank, have been in Congress for decades, and know precious little of the outside world, or how it works. All they know that is there is money out there, and they have the power to take it, and people will usually allow them to if they demagogue enough.
And Barack Obama? He's an economic illiterate, plain and simple. Here's a guy who's never really worked for a living, not the way you and I understand it. He's written books (which he either went to Tahiti to finish due to the crushing pressure, or had ghostwritten), he's served on boards and handed out other people's money (for which HE was thanked, likely confusing him about whose money it really was), and finally made a career for himself as a politician, where any time he needed money, he just took it - via taxation - from the private sector.
And no doubt he believes - like Pelosi and posse of ill-bred loyalists - that the private sector is a tree that keeps on flowering cash; and that the tree is greedy if it wants to keep all of its growth, that it is government's right to pick and keep the fruit of that tree at will, and that the money tree will keep on growing cash regardless of whether it is "watered" or not.
You ever see a dead tree? It's an ugly death; they are decayed, rotted, bent, and blackened, with nary a green shoot to be found. It's the stuff of horror movies, and that's what our economy is going to look like in less than a decade if this monstrosity is actually passed...
It's Jew-Shootin' Time in L.A. (again) !
Well, with "The Man" in the White House, what do you expect?
Los Angeles police have detained a man near the North Hollywood synagogue where two people were shot in the legs.
Lt. John Romero says two people were pulling into the synagogue's parking garage shortly before 6:30 a.m. to attend services when they were confronted by a man who shot them with a handgun.
The attack occurred 10 miles away from a 1999 shooting at a Jewish community center where white supremacist Buford Furrow wounded three children, a teenager and an adult. He later killed a letter carrier.
Wait until all of America is like LA - $4- gasoline, crippling taxes and regulations, environmental Nazism, and....well, racial Nazism as well, I suppose...
Welcome to Obama's America, where the "progressives" can finally take off their masks and be free to be themselves...
Left-Wing Hatred Shows Us Hoffman Is For Real !
Doug Hoffman Wins an Olympic Gold Medal, Gets Reagan Elected and F***s a Rat
Seriously. Anyway:
Doug Hoffman is running for Congress on the nonentity ticket. A millionaire accountant who's not even eligible to vote in the district he seeks to serve, Doug has never previously held nor sought elected office. He has no public record of, well, anything. He seems to own cars -- that comes up a lot in his campaign literature -- and I guess that says something. He was in the Army Reserves in the seventies, just like Dan Quayle, but it's unclear if he ever served in an area east of Lake George. He has a full raft of Christian prejudices, but if he's a practicing member of any church, it hasn't come out.
It's not just that he doesn't have a record. He doesn't have dental records....
And I'm skipping his whole explanation of "rat f**king", which he seems to enjoy dwelling on...regardless, I don't see how having no political experience is an liability in the year of the Tea Party (not the rat, sorry, Doug, but if they do decide to name the year in honor of Obama...). And most Americans enjoy owning cars - except urban-dwelling white elites - and the Dan Qualye reference is humerous, especailly when trying to tie him to an upstate NY congressman.
And those Christian prejudices? Kelly doesn't list them, so they likely don't exist. But it continues to illuminate how deep the liberal hatred is of American Christians; they feel the accusation is enough and will be accepted on face falue, because, well, everyone knows it's true.
Well, everyone in the echo chamber, I guess.
The bottom line is - we only see this nonsense and high-pitch mud-slinging when the Left feels deep fear. Like an animal, they bare their teeth, drool and bite anywhere they can extend their necks (or feeble brains) to.
Leads me to believe Hoffman is for real, and that he can win. Animals don't waste their energy fighting non-threatening objects.
More evidence from MoveOn...I can almost smell the soiled diapers...
AP Calls BS on "Stimulus"
Anyway - all the job totals the Obama administration has been touting so far as proof that the stimulus "works" are...extremely suspect, tot say the least. Here's the AP investigative report:
The government's first accounting of jobs tied to the $787 billion stimulus program claimed more than 30,000 positions paid for with recovery money. But that figure is overstated by least 5,000 jobs, according to an Associated Press review of a sample of stimulus contracts.
The AP review found some counts were more than 10 times as high as the actual number of jobs; some jobs credited to the stimulus program were counted two and sometimes more than four times; and other jobs were credited to stimulus spending when none was produced.
For example:
- A company working with the Federal Communications Commission reported that stimulus money paid for 4,231 jobs, when about 1,000 were produced.
- A Georgia community college reported creating 280 jobs with recovery money, but none was created from stimulus spending.
- A Florida child care center said its stimulus money saved 129 jobs but used the money on raises for existing employees.
As of early Thursday, on its recovery.org Web site, the government was still citing 30,383 as the actual number of jobs linked so far to stimulus spending, despite the mistakes the White House has now acknowledged
It's not clear just how far off the 30,000 claim was.....
But I am sure we will see none of these problems once we give the Democrats control of the health care industry...

Jersey Media Credits Corzine for Christie's Accomplishments
It's all about a justice program called "safe surrender". As explained when it was first rolled out in New Jersey back in 2008:
This system allows fugitives to surrender at a church in order to facilitate safe and orderly resolutions to minor outstanding criminal offenses. It's a great way to clean bench warrants out of the system. The program worked in Philly. so Christie decided to bring it across the river. In the first six hours, approximately 300 fugitives voluntarily surrendered at Camden's Antioch Baptist Church."
How well did Christie's program really work? Apparently, they're expecting over 5,000 surrenders this year, reports the Newark Star-Ledger - while leaving out one critical fact:
Attorney General Anne Milgram joined with local and state officials in Newark this afternoon to announce a major public safety initiative aimed at encouraging people with open warrants for non-violent crimes to turn themselves in.
Called “Fugitive Safe Surrender,” the federal program promises favorable consideration for those who decide to surrender, officials said at Bethany Baptist Church, the site of the four-day event.
Administered by the U.S. Marshals Service, “Fugitive Safe Surrender” has been held in 15 cities nationwide...
So the Star-Ledger credits Corzine's Attorney General for an "initiative" that is not one at all; but merely a continuation of the fresh ideas and policies put into place by Chris Christie.
Nauseating: the Star-Ledger changes history, Pravda-like, in order to whitewash Christie out of a extremely useful, humane and cost-cutting criminal justice measure he brought to New Jersey, in order to falsely credit John Corzine's administration with a successful "initiative".
Back in May, I wrote about how the North Korean state-controlled news agency reported that Dear Leader Kim Jong Il had played his first round of golf, finishing the 18 holes at 38 under par, which stands to reason given the 11 holes-in-one he made.
The Star-Ledger's crime is worse. At least the NK media did not take someone else's scorecard and scrawl Kim Jong's name over it...
What's next? Crediting Corzine with Christie's 100+ corruption convictions? Wait for it....
New Jersey's Post-Election Post-Apocalyptic Nightmare
It was a dark and stormy November night. An icy wind whistled through leafless moonlit trees....
Horror films, like this year's governor's race, are a chilling reminder that we are vulnerable n our own homes, that trusting strangers can be very dangerous, even those strangers who appear to be the perfect father or husband-to-be.
In the end, the election promises to be a nail biter and, like any good film, has a plot twist. The "law and order" candidate who was supposed to save the state from economic ruin and charge forcefully to victory is recast as the menacing villain. As he trudges across what many believed to be his opponent's political grave, a hand reaches up through the dirt, and grabs his ankle. Whether that hand is Daggett's or Corzine's or Obama's, we don't know.
But, at the end of the movie, a bruised but still breathing Corzine walks the State House halls for four more years....
Terrifying, right? Can you imagine if New Jersey wakes up next Wednesday to learn that Corzine has "earned" four more years in Trenton? What will the media say, that the voters "rewarded" him for a job well done? That we can expect things to change over the next four years? That this is the beginning of a bright and beautiful future for the Garden State?
No, I think New Jerseyans will have that same knot of stomach-clenching horror as the audience of the slasher-pic feels when they realize that the nightmare is not over, the monster is still loose, nothing has changed, and even more evil is bearing down on them, which they themselves have unleashed and are now powerless to stop...
Oh, and that twist ending? The above tale of terror was written by none other than Carla Katz - a New Jersey union bigwig, and, oh yeah - Jon Corzine's ex-girlfriend....

Democrats: Just So Damn "Smart"
Remember how, during the 2008 election cycle, we kept hearing from the Democrats that they would employ "smart power" (allegedly the "combination of hard and soft power") to achieve America's objectives abroad? Well, how smart was it?
Ask the Russians, who are running wild across the world. Or the Iranian mullahs, sitting and smirking on a stockpile of nuclear material. Or the Israelis, abandoned to the wild that is the Middle East. Or ask the government of Afghanistan...
You get the point. Smart power...not so smart.
Now, we're talking about smart power again, but this time in terms of electricity, not geopolitical force, as Obama tosses around a few billion more of your tax dollars on a "smart" grid:
President Obama...is announcing Tuesday that he is making available $3.4 billion in government support for 100 projects aimed at modernizing the power grid. The projects include installing "smart" electric meters in homes, automating utility substations and installing thousands of new digital transformers and grid sensors....
... the government funds will allow installation of 18 million smart meters and 1 million other in-home devices as well as more modern thermostats to allow homeowners to better monitor their electricity usage.
"To allow homeowners to better monitor their usage"? If you think its odd that this much money would be spent to help little 'ol you and me, well, you're right, because it's not us folks who will be doing the monitoring - we're not really "smart" enough:
This massive subsidy is earmarked for “smart grid” meters that would give utilities the ability to control electricity demand, so that they could avoid a supply crunch by, say, remotely turning down everyone’s air-conditioner during a hot summer afternoon.
Obama’s smart grid is dumb policy, if only because it could be achieved without spending a dime and—more importantly—without seizing control of our thermostats.
Again, smart=stupid. Or smart=government control, which also = stupid.
One more glimpse of how smart the Democrats are comes from John Kerry, 2004's loser and now the de facto head of the State Department (sorry, Hillary). Kerry has offered us a glimpse into which way the Obama administration is heading in Afghanistan, as he pushes a relatively minor troop increase and calls it..wait for it....
Kerry argues for "a smart counterinsurgency in a limited geographic area."...
“Many [Taliban] can be lured away by the right combination of money, diplomacy, reintegration into society, and smart outreach to Pashtun tribal leaders...
Get it? The Army is stupid, the prior commander-in-chief was stupid, the electric companies are stupid, and all of our previous foreign affairs were handled stupidly. Now that the Democrats are here, everything will be done smartly. Because unless something is being planned, executed and controlled by Democrats, it is, bydefinition, stupid.
And in case you don't know it, or don't get it, we will label everything we do, from war to negotiations to power distribution as "Smart". Health care reform will soon be relabeled as "Smart Care", just so you can be sure of what you're getting...(gulp)
And if you oppose these "smart" proposals? Why, that makes you....well, you know what it makes you. The Democrats told you so. So go back to Texas (or Alaska), dumb-ass....
Now it's Christie vs. Corzine as Daggett is Discredited
With just a week to go in New Jersey’s closely contested race for governor, Republican Chris Christie holds a three-point advantage over incumbent Democratic Governor Jon Corzine.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in New Jersey show Christie with 46% of the vote and Corzine with 43%. While the margin is little changed from a week ago and the week before, the biggest news may be that support for independent candidate Chris Daggett has dropped four points to seven percent (7%). The number of undecided voters is down to four percent (4%).
...Christie leads by eight points among those who are certain they will show up and vote. A week ago, he was up by five among that group. Christie’s supporters are also less likely to say they might consider voting for someone else.
Corzine does better among voters who might not make it to the polls. That's one reason President Obama, former President Bill Clinton and other Democratic Party luminaries are spending time in the Garden State in hopes of encouraging turnout.
Daggett got hurt (as did Corzine) when, during a high-profile radio interview, he refused to rule out taking a job in a a second Corzine administration. Between that confession and Christie's new attack ads linking his two opponents, Jersey voters may have come to realize Corzine/Daggett are one and the same, and that Daggett - based upon Corzine's spending history in this election - could even be working for Corzine; by refusing to pull out of an election he can't win in return for splitting the vote, thus handing Corzine a victory, and in return receiving a high-paying job with a nice pension...
Hey, sometimes it's good to be jaded. Remember, this is a state where 40+ public officials were hauled off to the hoosegow in one day for a scandal that included, among other things, organ trafficking. So don't tell me it's unrealistic to assume that Daggert and Corzine are in cahoots... [UPDATE 3:50P: Bret Schundler, the GOP nominee for governor of New Jersey in 2001, agrees w/my assessment of Daggert's duplicity in this race]
With Daggert diminished and exposed as a Corzine stooge, the narrowed field of choices helps Christie. Now it's all about getting the folks out to vote. Corzine will do everything in his wealth and power to retain his seat, including declaring a snow day and/or sending fleets of limos to Camden and Newark. Christie has got to get his "base" - middle class New Jersey taxpayers - out next Tuesday, a difficult task in a commuter state.
If he can, he wins. If he can't, Corzine wins. Maybe the RNC should take some of that money they are pissing away in NY-23 and send it to Jersey to lock up what could be a huge victory with national implications...

This is the Way That the World Ends..
Well, talk about transformation! It's now OK to get high...shit - it's patriotic to get high! It pays the bills ! So much more moral than, say, serving the armed forces....
Only nine months in power and look what has become socially acceptable...leave it to the Democrats....
Which reminds me of this scene from the Simpsons - "Brother's Little Helper":
[Burns observes Bart's tank rampage through binoculars]
Burns: Smithers, we're at war!
Smithers: I'll begin profiteering, sir.
Burns: And hoarding! Leave it to the Democrats to let the Spaniards back in the pantry...
"Islamic Hottie": Bogus Multi-Culturalism
Well done ad, overall. But it bothered me for a few moments after viewing, and I think I have figured out why...
The ad attempts to challenge contemporary views of what a Muslim women is, and what she is really "like" underneath the cloak & veil. "Liaison" is trying to tell us that yes, there can be one hot sexy sweetie hidden underneath those layers, and that we should ogle them as we would any Western female who may arouse our curiosity as to what she is wearing "downtown". After all, it's all about that luscious female form, and not the nationality that shaped it...
True. But my issues are as follows:
- Sorry, that model does not look Muslim. Yeah, I know, you don't have to have dark eyes/hair/skin to be a Muslim, but if you're going to wrap a model in a burkha, can we have her be at least somewhat representative of the majority? I realize this adds to the shock value, but c'mon - how many blonde Muslims are really out there?
-While some Muslim women do wear sexy lingerie under their robes, the mass majority of them do not. And yes, the advertiser's job is to drum up more business, but since this video seems more like a multicultural "Twilight Zone", I think it's fair to state that an extremely large majority of women who do wear the burkha are fundamentalists, and are as likely to consider the purchase of frilly nighties as a crew of yarmulke-wearing Jews would consider sitting down for some bacon cheeseburgers on the Sabbath.
-Finally, imagine if the actress actually was a Muslim (I do not know for sure that she is not, but I'd bet on it). There would already be a Fatwa on her head from London to Riyadh for "disgracing the Women of the Prophet".
It's an interesting ad. But like most advertisements, the message is questionable, if not outright false. So don't fall for it, and for heaven's sake, I strongly recommend that you refrain from whistling at the next burkha-clad female that walks on by...
Barack Obama: President Happy Gilmore?
Unlike our president, who is playing his 24th round of golf in this his 36th week of his presidency (Imagine if a Republican president play golf virtually every weekend while the economy was in flames and our boys were getting killed overseas! Oh, the horror!), who is a poor golfer and more than a bit misogynist:
...it's the first time the president has played with a woman.
Usually these outings are men only.
But today's round of golf comes after some questions raised by the media about what some critics say is a too-fratty atmosphere in the White House, a place where the president's closest advisers -- chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, senior adviser David Axelrod, and press secretary Robert Gibbs -- are known by women at the White House as "the Boys."
What is it with these prominent Democrats (see Clinton, Bill and Kennedy, Ted) who cover up their shabby real-life treatment of women with fig leaves of legislation (the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act - sigh - and "abortion rights", as if every women is pro-choice)?
Thinks Obama respect women? This from the man who smirked as he called Sarah Palin a "pig with lipstick", and who has marginalized Hillary Clinton by essentially making John Kerry and Joe Biden head(s) of State?
And of course, he is a liberal Democrat, so there's always this and this to bear in mind....
Jon Corzine: Buying Every Vote Available For Sale
Corzine's already gotten some heat for his $87K contribution to the Black Ministers Council, whose leader, Reginald Jackson, endorsed the governor for re-election immediately afterward despite having a number of public disagreements with him.
But that figure is just pocket change to the governor when it comes to buying votes:
Turns out Corzine’s foundation gave nearly $1 million to a non-profit organization controlled by a black minister in Camden County in South Jersey, the Rev. Bishop David G. Evans, who also serves on the Turnpike Authority. The governor gave $25,000 to Evans’ church, which claims 28,000 members, as well. The Evans group did not say how the money was spent and Evans didn’t return calls to reporter Jason Method of the Asbury Park Press who broke the story.
Corzine also gave $250,000 to the foundation of Cooper Hospital where he was treated after an accident in which he wasn’t wearing a seat belt. The chairman of Cooper is Camden County Democratic Party Boss George Norcross.
According to its 2007 non-profit disclosure, David G. Evans Ministries collected $598,389 in revenue that year and more than half of that — $375,000 — came from Corzine.
Interesting that that Evans group refuses to talk about what they did with Corzine's millions. Is Corzine supporting black churches, or is he simply purchasing their votes with his unlimited wealth and patronage? Or even worse, is his money and vote-buying corrupting these ministries and their leadership, thus further impoverishing their congregations both financially and spiritually?
And the big bucks he's sent to over Boss Norcross? Just remember - if he gets convicted of a crime against the public, like Bergen County Democratic leader Joe Ferriero (Corzine payoff: $441K) recently did - it has absolutely nothing to do with Corzine's cash!
Not sure who's stupider: The folks who keep taking Corzine's money - which is either poisoned or cursed like a monkey's paw - or the folks who keep voting for him.
Or maybe they are just one and the same?

MSNBC's Ed Schultz: I Beg Of Thee, Watch Me!
During the recent third-quarter ratings period, Fox News averaged about 2.26 million total viewers in prime time and was up 2 percent from the same time last year. CNN had 949,000 viewers and was down 30 percent. MSNBC averaged 795,000 viewers and was down 10 percent.
In the coveted 25- to 54-year-old demographic, Fox News averaged 589,000 viewers and was up 5 percent. CNN had 288,000 and was down 39 percent. MSNBC had 275,000 and was down 21 percent.
Well, Baracky tried to knock off FOX, but failed miserably - much like everything else he touches. So the liberal yakkers have resorted to ...begging for viewers. MSNBC's Ed Schultz, for instance - he's more pathetic than that guy that sleeps in a puddle of his own urine at the 53rd Street E station. Via The Radio Equalizer:
SCHULTZ - TUESDAY (04:52): We are trailing CNN for the month of October so we gotta get after it, Ed heads. We don't want to lose, do we? Come on now. That's the, the balloon boy really screwed me up. You know, it's what happened! They cook up this balloon thing and we gotta cover it and everybody runs to CNN to the tune of 3-, 400,000 more people.
SCHULTZ - WEDNESDAY (07:00): Thank you for being there, listeners, thank you. And I'm a little bit behind CNN this month because of that damn balloon story. That psycho who made, wanted to get a reality TV show, he's screwing everything up. I don't know what the deal is, it's a goofy business.
OooKaaaaaaaaay, Ed. Sure, a family in the Midwest concocted some crazy scheme to fake a family tragedy with a multi-state airborne chase in order to...deprive you of your rightful ratings glory. Riiiiiiiiiiiight....
It's funny, but the only folks left are that actually watching MSNBC are fellow liberal pundits - who anxiously scrawl down tomorrow's talking points - and members of the Obama administration, who call the network to issue corrections when they stray from the Democratic party line...
Wait. Actually, that's not funny at all....

Rush Holt Walks Down J-Street
-It has opposed sanctions on Iran, a nation that promises a second (sorry, first) Holocaust. Sanctions that virtually every civilized nation believes are necessary, mind you.
-J-Street opposed Israel's defensive war against Hamas, criticized Israel's incursion into Gaza as "disproportionate."
-they drew "a moral equivalence" between Israel and Hamas when the lobby group said during Israel's recent campaign in Gaza that "it could not identify who was right or who was wrong." (Are they freakin' kidding me? This from an alleged Israeli advocacy group?)
-the group's leader defends Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer, authors of the blood libel "The Israel Lobby" (which claims American Jews forced the Iraq war and were involved in 9/11).
-on a cultural level, J-Street has endorsed staging the play "Seven Jewish Children," by the British playwright Caryll Churchill, which draws a "direct line"...connecting "Nazi Germany's mass murder of Jews to Israel's treatment of Palestinians."
-finally, the group refuses to condemn the Goldstone Report, currently at the UN, claiming Israel committed multiple war crimes against poor, innocent, sweet, Hamas.( A report that even The Economist, not exactly friendly toward Israel, calls a "thimbleful of poison" and the product of "willful blindness.") Instead of condemning this UN travesty, J-Street has treated it with respect, calling upon Israel "to credibly address [its] full range of charges and findings."
Does it sound like a pro-Israel group? NO. It does sound like a left-wing foreign policy orgainzation consisting of self-loathing Jews that put "progressive" politics ahead of the truth, and appears to exist merely to support President Obama's ugly positions on Israel, and give him Olympia Snowe-type cover.
So anyway....J-Street is holding a big conference this weekend in Washington DC. It claims over 150 Congressman and Senators are hosting the conference. Maybe. At least 12, including such bigwigs as Chuck Schumer, have publicly dropped out.
The remainders are all Democrats, incidentally. Tell ya something?
And my congressman, Rush Holt (D-NJ 12th), will be there as well. He's doing J-Street's bidding now, as Holt was the only member of New Jersey’s 13 member Congressional delegation not signed onto a bill advocating for tougher sanctions against Iran.
But Holt's always supported groups that have been anti-American, anti-Israel, and anti-Semitic. Here's a story how he fought alongside of CAIR to allow terror suspects to sue the folks who reported them. And of course, there's his attendance at this still-notorious Democratic "mock lynching" of President George W. Bush, where he sat by and smirked as it turned into an anti-Semitic hatefest...
Now that last one, he claimed he was unaware of what was going on around him. Maybe. But this one he enters into with eyes wide-open, with the cover of self-hating Jews as his cloak.
Let's see how the Jews of his own district react - those who do not loathe themselves, or Israel, as much as J-Street does...
Obama: Procrastinating Desperately on Afghanistan
Can we make that 22?
With his attendance at fundraisers for Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut and Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts today — boy, there's a pair of popular incumbents — President Obama has now attended seven fundraisers since Gen. Stanley McChrystal submitted his request for additional troops in Afghanistan.
Imagine if a Republican president was jetting around the nation to help unpopular conservatives win re-election during a time of multiple national crises. Would the mongrels of the media be braying! But under The Rule of The One, the responsibility of the president to protect and serve the good people who elected him is superseded by the president's "responsibility" (desire?) to maintain ironclad power over them.
Hope and change, baby!
But It's Still OK to Compare Bush To Hitler!
Because in the Age of the One, the truth is what Barack Obama says it is...imagine the heat NPR political Director Ken Rudin got for saying the following, in regards to the administration's jihad against FOX:
"It's not only aggressive, it's almost Nixonesque," Rudin said. "I mean, you think of what Nixon and Agnew did with their enemies list and their attacks on the media; certainly Vice President Agnew's constant denunciation of the media. Of course, then it was a conservative president denouncing a liberal media, and of course, a lot of good liberals said, 'Oh, that's ridiculous. That's an infringement on the freedom of press.' And now you see a lot of liberals almost kind of applauding what the White House is doing to Fox News, which I think is distressing."
Man oh man, Rudin must have gotten an earful (remember, NPR is government-subsidized radio), because less than 24 hours later, he was on his knees, rending his garments, groveling....
Courage, Ken...courage....

Crooked Corzine's Corrupt Cash Choking Campaign?
...a jury found Joe Ferriero, former chairman of the Bergen County Democratic Organization, guilty of one count of conspiracy to defraud and two counts of mail fraud.
Guess how much money Jon Corzine and his family gave to Ferriero over the years?
$441,600. (Dollar by dollar breakdown here)
Corzine, of course, plays dumb, just like Ferriero did in his trial - the Star-Ledger:
Ferriero wasn't aware that his partner in Government Grants Consulting, Bergenfield borough attorney Dennis Oury, was lobbying for the company with Bergenfield without disclosing his connection with the company.
Don't look for a lot of information of the Corzine/Ferriero connection in the notoriously liberal Star-Ledger; you need to get to the 12th paragraph out of 16 to hear him described as a "Corzine ally", the 14th paragraph attributes the "$400,000" cash "donations" as something "said" by Chris Christie, rather than as fact. Of course, Christie should know, since as U.S. Attorney he brought the case against Ferriero.
By tomorrow, I expect Corzine to purchase another $1 million in airtime claiming that Christie is overstepping his authority, and that he's a fat bastard to boot. By Sunday the Jersey/Philly media will be questioning whether this was a politically motivated prosecution, despite the guilty finding and the fact the case began over two years ago.
Some truth out there, though..NorthJersey.com :
JOSEPH FERRIERO was once the most powerful political player in Bergen County. Now, he’s just another felon....
His conviction is a stunning victory for former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie, who made corruption busting his signature issue. He had an unblemished record as U.S. attorney, and while he was not prosecuting this case, Ferriero was snagged under his watch. Whether Christie is successful in his challenge against Democratic Governor Corzine, he won big Thursday.
Can the citizens of New Jersey still re-elect Corzine? It would be like Gotham voting for The Joker over a (pre-disfigurement) Harvey Dent....

Obama Comes To Jersey; Jobs Vanish Immediately...
Well, I guess a swing of -155,000 jobs is as good of a reason as any to put our kids into debt for life...
This is the result of Corzine "seeing it coming"? Jeez, these two guys are the tag-team "brothers of destruction". Can't we put Obamazine on a C-130 and drop them into Afghanistan?
Coming to rape and pillage an economy near you...
Now We Know Who The REAL News Organizations Are!
Via TVNewswer:
The White House has sent TVNewser the complete list of those who attended the off-the-record briefing Monday: Eugene Robinson, E.J. Dionne, Ron Brownstein, John Dickerson, Rachel Maddow, Frank Rich, Jerry Seib, Maureen Dowd, Keith Olbermann, Bob Herbert, Gloria Borger, and Gwen Ifill.
A can of stale left-wing nuts, to be sure, although I was amused to see Gwen Ifill's name there. The "moderator" of one of the Obama/McCain debates, no one believed her claim to impartiality back then, and no one will ever believe it in the future. Funny too to see that the administration considers liberal op-ed scribblers and talking heads to be the true vanguard of "journalism" and "news" in America.
What's obvious is that Obama is giving privileged information to his most strident supporters, information that you too can receive! if you hew to the administration's policy line....
Two thoughts here:
-is acquiesces to Obama worth the price to the aspiring media star? Sure, you'll get good insider access and an occasional scoop, but in news, your name is a brand, and if you were to sully that brand with, say, writing glowing columns about bad policies in order to improve your personal standing, you might wind up with a reputation that makes your product rather unsellable. On the same note, is it worth it to tie yourself to the sinking ship that is the Obama presidency? This guy is crashing and burning, but the folks at the above briefing are so deep in the tank they can't hear the eruptions or feel the ground shake. What sound-thinking journalist with his head still above water would dive into the drink at this point?
-Isn't the administration preaching to the converted here already? There's nary even a left-of-center journalist in the group above; what makes Obama think he can make himself more palatable to mainstream America when he working with media folk who exclusively sing to the choir anyway, and have little or no influence - save as Fisking fodder - with the center? Furthermore, does the president realize he is kissing the asses of the op-ed writers for two of the nation's most visible example of the failure of the print business, and with the spittle-spewing sisters (yeah, that's you, Keith) of the lowest-ranked cable news network? And if he's telling them not to follow up on FOX reporting, well...isn't that a moot point with this motley crew?
More circular thinking by the White House, as the only noise they hear is what's generated within their echo chamber. And a useless strategy as well. He's building up his own personal Maginot Line, while the forces of truth and real transparency are simply moving their troops around it, and leaving his pathetic defense alone, naked, and useless.....

The Assault on FOX: A Feint by the Administration?
Legal Insurrection is convinced we have fallen for one:
While we were following the Fox News red herring dragged by Rahm Emanuel, David Axelrod and Anita Dunn across the political trail, the real damage was being done in the other direction.
Organizing for America, Obama's renamed campaign machine, was flooding Capital Hill with phone calls in support of Obamacare (we received a phone call at our house yesterday asking us to call our representative in support of Democratic proposals). Harry Reid was cutting deals with doctors, various states, and anyone else who can be bought or bullied. Nancy Pelosi was playing number games to get a CBO score below $900 billion based on unrealistic cost control assumptions which never will be put into effect. All the while the Democrats were touting yet another misleading poll (based on distorted sampling) supposedly showing widespread support for a government plan, to provide cover for a sell-out by moderate Democrats.
And us? We're talking about Fox News.
Donald Sensing seems to feel it is a shot across the bow to the entire struggling MSM - play ball with us, or twist on the vine of financial ruin:
The more a White House reporters and editors toe the White House line, the greater access they will be granted, especially to power figures such as Rahm Emmanuel, David Axelrod and, ultimately, Barack Obama himself, whom we may expect to give a one-on-one interview with the biggest suckup reporter gaining Dunn's favor. Reporters who don't fall into place will discover they are being frozen out of access and will have to rely exclusively on press briefer Robert Gibbs, which is the kiss of death to a White House reporter.
....And to think that George W. Bush was mocked for saying, "If you're not with us, you're with the terrorists."
I think they're both right, and they both miss a point. While the "War on FOX" has got a lot of people talking about the proper role of the presidency in relation to the press, it was less of a feint and more a bit of "softening up the turf", as the military says while saturation-bombing an area prior to invasion/occupation. With FOX stories now carrying a touch of de-legitimization, and the remaining media warned by the White House not to follow their news leads under fear of exile, valid stories about the perils of health care reform (among other things) will have less of an opportunity to penetrate the mass consciousness.
Regardless, the attack on conservatives and the media as a whole was a successful one by military standards. The Right now has to fight a two-front war: Warning the nation about the chill being put on "opposition media" (yes, we now have such a thing in America - hope and change, yadda, yadda...) while remaining vigilant about the perils that the Democrat's planned socialization of health care holds for us - a hurt so big and bad that, to quote William Jacobson again, future generations will curse us for what we allowed to happen.
So conservative energy will be now be split - fighting the Left's disastrous policies while fighting to retain our most basic freedoms - and thus will be forced to focus less on the health care debate. All this, when we are not fighting amongst ourselves, as we are in upstate New York (NY-23 - sigh...).
As strategies go, it's cunning, dishonest, and divisive - in other words, exactly what we've come to expect from this administration. But will it work? Time will tell, I suppose...
But in the meantime, I wish Obama would put this much effort into creating some winning schemes against his nation's enemies in Afghanistan, rather than focusing all of his energy on his perceived enemies at home...
