"Palin Porn"

Well, that's what they are calling the mad search for pictures of the lovely Governor (and soon to be Vice President) Sarah Palin. So let me add my modest contribution, below:

In Kuwait; with grateful troops....

Not her bike; I checked - part of a raffle giveaway for veterans. Fetching, still....

Enough said.

As the naughty librarian.

No suprise, this.....

More Palin fun here and here....

Go ahead, MSM, try to bring the lady down...I dare ya!

"Balance" at the BBC...

...means putting the worst light on anything that can even possibly be beneficial to the Republicans; and in this case, feminism goes by the wayside, as Sarah Palin Must Be Destroyed:

McCain unveils 'The Barracuda'

Nice. Bet the Dems wish they headlined their press releases with that one. Still, no matter, the BBC does dutifully repeat the Democrat's talking points:

As commander of the Alaska National Guard, she visited troops in Kuwait last year, but has a very thin foreign policy background.
Similarly, while she does have executive experience, the Obama campaign wryly pointed out she had been the mayor of a town with just 9,000 people.

Palin's one visit (pics here) to Kuwait is equal, I believe, to candidate Obama's one visit - which was more of a stopover on his "terrorist listening tour" of earlier this summer. As per news reports, this paragon of leadership "shook hands, answered questions, posed for photos and played a little basketball during the (two hour) visit."

And the BBC is the only one who described the "mayor" slur as "wry"; even Barack Obama backpedaled away from that meme ASAP. Is the BBC further to the left than the Democratic Party? Or is it they just can't stand to see a woman ascend to power without constantly reminding her to "know her place"?

Hat tip to Biased BBC, who will no doubt keep us informed of how the British government's media arm is twisting the election news from the States....

Maybe somebody out to wise up the BBC to a few important Sarah Palin facts:

Sarah Palin begins every day with a moment of silence for the political enemies buried in her yard.

And perhaps someone should whisper this sweet reminder into Howard Dean's ear:

Sarah Palin always beats the point spread....

We Heart Sarah Palin !

Now this is a VP I feel I could actually bond with...

...and while Barack Obama shops for arugula and Michelle Obama seethes in the pews of Trinity Church, Governer Palin works on the weekend:

Now, Mrs. Palin may only be the Commander-in-Chief of the Alaskan National Guard, but still, she looks poured into that uniform.....

Oh. That guy bellow? That's her husband. He's a commercial fisherman and a union oil flield worker. And on the weekends, he's a snowmobile racer. Seriously. Standing next to this guy, the Marlboro Man would look elitist:

Finally, check out the video. Check out the money shot at the end...gonna start calling her Sarah "Connor" Palin:

What a stroke of genius by McCain. That 'ol fighter pilot is gonna give Mr. Obama the ride of his life....

Friday Metaphors

From the LA Times:

Daytime talk show diva and billionaire businesswoman Oprah Winfrey, who played a crucial early primary role in raising the prominence of her fellow Chicagoan Barack Obama, was so moved by her man's Democratic acceptance speech Thursday night that she cried off her false eyelashes.

Apt !

Madonna: Shilling for McCain?

Well, of course not. But her immature antics are so over the top that it reminds me of the celebrity behavior that started to drive more folks towards Bush in 2004:

John McCain's campaign hit back at Madonna on Sunday after the pop diva kicked off her world tour with a concert that bracketed the US presidential candidate with Adolf Hitler.

McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds angrily condemned the segment of Madonna's concert in Cardiff on Saturday that appeared to draw a comparison between McCain, Hitler and Zimbabwean strongman Robert Mugabe.

"The comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time," Bounds said in a statement reported by Fox News.
"It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting
Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits."

Madonna's apparent swipe at McCain came during a performance of the song "Get Stupid", when the Republican contender's image was flashed up alongside images of destruction and global warming as well as Hitler and Mugabe.

As opposed to her juxtapositioning the Messiah with...:

Towards the end of the song, pictures of Beatles star John Lennon, former US vice-president Al Gore, Indian Mahatma Gandhi and McCain's Democrat rival Barack Obama appeared.

Is this election going to be about "change", as Obama and the media are trying to dictate? No, John McCain has already co-opted the dialogue - Eection 2008 is going to be about celebrity, and who's got less of it.

When the call comes at 3 AM, do you really want the President to send it to voice mail because he is texting sweet nothings to Scarlett Johansson?

The Democrat's Dog Whistle

If Barack Obama isn't enough of a peek through the window of the soul of the Democratic party, check out the Baseball Crank, who finds a webpage - proudly paid for by the Democratic National Committee - on potential McCain running mate Eric Cantor.

Did you know he's Jewish?

Don't worry, you will, because the DNC will somehow manage to bring it up five times in a 660 word piece.

Wonder who that dog whistle is for?

Obama hearts Ayers...

....and at least someone is talking about it:

Go visit The American Issue Project to get more info on the Weather Underground and Ayer's history of radical tactics and extreme violence.

Meanwhile, in one of the greatest acts of moral equivalency seen since Jimmy Carter last visited the Mideast, Obama is comparing the American army preserving a struggling new democracy in Iraq to the Russian army raping a struggling new democracy in Eastern Europe. Via Gateway Pundit:

Democrat Barack Obama scolded Russia again on Wednesday for invading another country’s sovereign territory while adding a new twist: the United States, he said, should set a better example on that front, too.

The Illinois senator’s opposition to the Iraq war, which his comment clearly referenced, is well known. But this was the first time the Democratic presidential candidate has made a comparison between the U.S. invasion of Iraq and Russia’s recent military activity in Georgia.

We’ve got to send a clear message to Russia and unify our allies,” Obama told a crowd of supporters in Virginia. “They can’t charge into other countries. Of course it helps if we are leading by example on that point.”

Of course! Like all of the world's problems, it's America's fault the Russians tore their newly liberated neighbors a new *sshole!

Just the kind of thinking you'd expect from a Friend of Bill(Ayers).

The fact, incidentally, that the Democrats nominated this man as their standard-bearer says a lot more about the Democrats' standards than it does about the man. We now know Obama, hence his plummeting poll numbers. But if he is simply emblematic of the Democratic party as a whole, well, then, it is a party that has revealed its soul.

And, like all self-loathers, it is an ugly one.

"McCain. In A Rout"

Yeah, we said that, yesterday.

Hope we called it first; 'cause the numbers are starting to swing, and swing fast: For the first time since RealClearPolitics has been drawing its 2008 election map, John McCain has the 270+ needed to win the election. With leaners, but still.....even Zogby (a notoriously pro-Democratic pollster) has McCain up by six.

And this is going into the Democratic Convention, mind you, with the VP intrigue and the anticipated Amphitheater coronation and the Great Uniting....

Man, if you thought the Democrats were frustrated the last two cycles, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Maybe this time, though, some of them will actually move to Canada, instead of just talking about it....

Watcha Hiding, Baracky?

Some much for the era of "open governemnt", or perhaps..."What's Barack's Secret?"

....the public cannot get access to paperwork related grants distributed by then-state-legislator Obama (records from 1997 to 2000 aren't available); his state legislative office records (which he says may have been thrown out); he refuses to release a specific list of law clients, instead giving a list of all of his firm's clients, numbering several hundred each year; he won't release his application to the state bar (where critics wonder if he lied in responding to questions about parking tickets and past drug use); he’s never released any legal or billing records to verify that he only did a few hours of work for a nonprofit tied to convicted donor Rezko; and he's never released any medical records, just a one-page letter from his doctor.

Now the University of Illinois at Chicago is denying Stanley Kurtz access to documents relating to the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a small foundation, founded and inspired by Bill Ayers, for which Obama served as board chairman.

McCain, folks. In a rout, come November...

The writing on the wall here...

More Anti-Semitism From Fat D-List Pseudo-Celebrity

Yup, Roseanne Barr is back in the news - for a swipe at Brad and Angelina. Who gives a f*ck, you say? Well, her attack on Angelina focuses on her dad's (Jon Voight) recent coming-out as a Hollywood conservative (gutsy!), and Roseanne Barr leaps for the jugular like the filthy old dog that she is, and inadvertantly (?) vomits out the trendy "neocon/Jew" connection:

"[Jon Voight] is a frightened little girl in a pink ballet tutu, who acts like Obama just wandered in from the rain forest with a bone thru his nose and a communist pamphlet in his loincloth. The neocons who own jon voight and make him dance on the chabad telethons are the worst most elitist people on earth. glen beck and jon voight are their bitches... both of them are used tampons who must be flushed down the toilet immediately! jon voight your evil spawn angelina jolie and her vacuous hubby brad pitt make about forty million dollars a year in violent psychopathic movies and give away three of it to starving children trying to look as if they give a crap about humanity as they spit out more dunces that will consume more than their fair share and wreck the earth even more. (just sayin')."

Chabad is a form of Lubavitch Judaism:

The founder of the Chabad thought system, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, developed an intellectual system and approach to Judaism intended to answer criticisms of Hasidism as anti-intellectual.

Sigh...it's always about the evil Jews, even in Hollywood....

I'd kick this hate-filled b*tch in the crotch, but I'd hate to ruin the good shine on my shoes....

Past instances of Rosie's anti-Semitic outbursts here, here, and here....

Gateway Pundit reports as well....

Barack Obama Bemoans Pesky American "Democracy" and its Bitter Inhabitants...

Seems like whenever St. Barack goes to San Francisco, he gets a bit unhinged. Remember bitterness, God, and guns? This time it's that annoying habit of allowing people in this country to actually, you know, vote for their leadership that's getting under his thin skin:

I will win. Don’t worry about that,” he said to the crowd of about 1,300 at his third event of the evening, according to the pool report. He was warmly received by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who called him "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time."

"Now, you want to win. And saying it doesn’t make it so," he told the crowd. "It would be nice to think that after eight years of economic disaster, after eight years of bungled foreign policy, of being engaged in a war that should never have been authorized and should never have been waged, that cost us a trillion dollars and thousands of lives, that people would say, let’s toss the bums out. Toss the bums out, we’re starting from scratch, we’re starting over. This is not working."

“So I understand why a lot of folks are saying, this should just happen. Why are we having to run all these television commercials? Why do we have to raise all this money? Just read the papers. These are the knuckleheads who have been in charge. Throw ‘em out.

But American politics aren’t that simple," he said."The fact of the matter is, at a certain point, when government has not been serving the people for this long, people get cynical. They tune out. And they start saying to themselves, a plague on both your houses. They are willing to consume negative information more frequently than positive information, for good reason. They’ve seen how promises haven’t been kept," he said.

Ah. So the reason we are not willing to raise The Chosen One on our shoulders and carry him to his rightful throne is because we are...wait for it...bitter!

Because we haven't been served enough by government, by the way.

I don't know what, exactly, this country would look like after four years of Democratic control with Obama at the helm.

I just know it wouldn't look like America.

Barack Obama: Anti-Christ!

Well, if you see it on the web, it must be true, right?

Especially if the National Review is making the reference (even if it is only to point out that the media blames "sinister GOP operatives " for the, ahem, rumors).

So I did some digging - how would we know this AntiChrist should he walk the earth - and unearthed some startling coincidences:

Antichrist goes about his business by speaking the lie... Revelation 13:12 says, "and he spoke as a dragon...." Revelation 17 tells us that he was a false prophet, a prophet being one whose calling it is to speak and to teach... In his initial attempts to destroy the cause of God, the devil used a serpent to deceive the woman with crooked speech: "You will be like God." Now he uses a "dragon" who speaks crafty, lying words.

His speeches will be heard by millions who will hang on his persuasive rhetoric. The content as well as the form of his speech will attract. Like most false prophets, he will even be sincere and passionate. But he is a liar. He adds dashes of truth to the mix, so that his lie tastes like truth. He will use all the right catchwords, using the language of the church, even throwing in a Bible text or two. But he is the ultimate Liar, and will deceive many.

He will use every tool available: school teachers, politicians, news broadcasters, artists, musicians, scientists and doctors, lawyers and businessmen. All will be pressed into the service of Antichrist to deceive men....

Wow!

"Persuasive rhetoric"; "the Ultimate Liar"; "news broadcasters"!

I know someone else who is gettng persuaded....anyway, here's more:

The Antichrist--also described in the Bible as the "son of perdition" & the "beast"!
.... he will have great charisma & speaking ability, "a mouth speaking great things".

The Antichrist will rise to power on a wave of world euphoria, as he temporarily saves the world from its desperate economic, military & political problems with a brilliant 7-year plan for world peace, economic stability & religious freedom.

"World euphoria", huh? Hello, Berlin....

There's a dedicated website, which banners itself thusly:

...he has risen up out of no where, he mesmerizes crowds, people are gathering in huge numbers, he is likely becoming the next President of the United States. Do not look only to what I say, but look to your Bibles...

And people have been postulating on the whole Obama/Satan thing since 2004; when many eyes first alit upon The One at the Democratic Convention:

...When I first heard of Barak, a few days ago, the first thing I heard is that he is a guy who came out of nowhere and now many flock to his side. When my wife and I heard this, we both thought the same thing, the anti-christ....

....While I was watching him, the VERY FIRST thought that came to my mind was asking the Lord if I was looking at the AC. ....

...He has an eerie magnetism...I'm going with my gut on this one. My sister and I both feel something "spooky" about this guy, but can't quite figure out what it is.

My favorite- same thread:

....If he turns out to not be the antichrist, then his message is a good thing.

Well, this whole thing bears following, folks - even if Snopes claims that the rumors are "false"...

But finally - I'm down with this guy's conclusion:

But until someone gives me a reasonable explanation for his popularity, I'm going to leave the door to this thought open, just a crack...

Yeah. I'm still waiting for that explanation, by the way...

UPDATE: "Get yer Obama-is-the-antichrist T-shirts here!"

UPDATE II: Go here, and see how the media is blaming the Republicans for the fact that the Democrats nominated the spawn of Satan...

Obama: On America....

"The Republic is no longer what it once was."

Well, one can certainly argue that...
Hey!
Barack Obama didn't say that - Emperor Palpatine did! (Star Wars, episode III - "The Revenge of the Sith")

Oh, wait....here's Obama's quote:

"America is …, uh, is no longer, uh … what it could be, what it once was. And I say to myself, I don't want that future for my children."

One can understand my confusion, I hope.

This, in answer to a little girl's question as to why Obama wanted to be president.

Speaks volumes.

See it here: "Obama: America Sucks, and Only I Can Save It"....

From Obama's Speech in Berlin:

Listen to me, people of the Earth! Today I bring a New Order to your planet! One which shall last until the end of time!

Each of you... each man, each woman, each child - all will march proudly together in this New Order!

There is no longer a need for separate nations in this world, no need for petty squabbles between one group and another. All of you will work together, strive, produce, and sacrifice together - and all for a common goal!

It is useless for you to resist....

Oh...sorry! That's not Obama's "citizen of the world" bit from Berlin, it's General Zod's speech from Superman II !

Except Zod was more intelligent, and realistic, than his idealistic young doppleganger. Check out Zod's presidential campaign site here....

New Jersey's Toxins Seeping Into America...

This is the danger that New Jersey presents to the rest of the United States, when electing such mental midgets as Democrat Senator Robert Menendez:

E-Verify (the effective program to keep illegal aliens out of U.S. jobs) now is facing danger in the Senate, as well as the House .

The NumbersUSA Capitol Hill Team has been told that Sen. Menendez (D-N.J.) has put a "hold" on legislation to reauthorize the E-Verify workplace verification program. That means the Senate is barred from voting to keep it alive. Without a vote, E-Verify will die in November.

Our understanding is that Sen. Menendez is blocking the most effective tool against illegal immigration in order to get something else that he wants. He will allow an E-Verify vote if he is allowed to give hundreds of thousands of skilled American jobs permanently to hundreds of thousands of additional immigrants.

At a time when skilled Americans and students aspiring to those jobs are finding a depressed job market, Sen. Menendez is insisting on flooding their occupations with even more foreign workers. And if he doesn't get his way, he will take away the best tool that employers have to keep illegal foreign workers from taking jobs at every rung of the ladder, but especially at the lower-skilled job level.

This outrageously callous behavior toward American workers during a time of employment shrinkage is typical for Sen. Menendez. His lifetime immigration voting has earned him an F-minus in the category of protecting American workers from unfair foreign labor competition. And his overall career immigration-reduction grade (all categories) is an F.

When it comes to favoring foreign workers (and the greedy employers who use them to depress wages) over struggling American workers, Sen. Menendez has no shame....

And neither do New Jersey Democrats, who would rather vote for a dangerous, incompetent assclown like Menendez rather than even consider anyone with an (R) next to their name. Who needs Saudi-funded madrassas when New Jerseyians can export our own brand of lethal madness throughout the United States?

Obamanation - the final chapter (today)

I'll leave it to James Taranto to close my out my four-post rant against The Annointed One; as he ruminates about what bothered him so about the whole "Barack in Berlin" spectacle:

If Obama had waited six months and delivered this speech as president, we might have objected to some of its substance (if any). But we'd say it is bad form for him to give a speech overseas that his audience will interpret, as Spörl did, as coming from the next president of the United States. If he becomes president, Obama will have earned the right to speak on behalf of America.

We the people are entitled to have our say first.

One would think, based on the coverage, that his head has already been annointed with oil....methinks that upon his return, Jesus H. Christ himself would get rougher treatment at the hands of the media than Saint Barack....

Will the gullib-jews fall for Obama ?

Caroline Glick, editor over at the Jerusalem Post, comments on the emptiness of The Chosen One's rhetoric:

His repeated assertions of his commitment to Israel’s security were repeatedly contradicted by the policies he wishes to adopt if elected.

On the one hand he opposes permitting Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, but on the other hand, he insists that the way to make this happen is to sit down and talk to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who has made annihilating the Jewish state one of his main goals in office.

He says he understands Israel’s need to protect its citizens from terror attacks but then he says that Israel’s interests are served by strengthening the Palestinian terror groups by extending Palestinian sovereignty from Gaza to the West Bank. Gaza is ruled by jihadists from Hamas who are bankrolled, trained and armed by Iran.

How are Israel’s interests served by importing jihadist control to the outskirts of Tel-Aviv and to Jerusalem?

How, indeed? Glick tries to make sense of the nonsensical; she forgoes the willing suspension of disbelief engaged in by His followers. John McCain was right when he said Barack Obama would lose a war to win an election; Glick doesn't yet understand he is willing to lose Israel if it helps him achieve the same goal....

"The Moment"

Via Powerline - Rush Limbaugh knows exactly what the moment is:

But ladies and gentlemen, if you are wondering when you hear Obama talk about change, this is it. The change is: America sucks, America's deficient, America's guilty, but America is now willing to pay the price because we have a Messiah who understands the faults, the egregious errors made by the United States and her people. We are racists, sexists, bigots, homophobes. We discriminate against people who worship differently than we do, have skin color different from ours, and we have not always behaved properly in the world. And we torture. And we, of course, are biased against people who want to get into our country illegally. We have a lot to pay for. Not to mention that we are primarily the country responsible for climate change, shrinking the Atlantic coastline, melting the Arctic ice.

This is the change. You want change? This is the change.

I think more people than just Rush get this, though. Thing is, those folks like this message, and agree with it...any suprise it went over so well in Germany?

How about a little bit of humble, Baracky?

From The One's speech in Berlin:

Now the world will watch and remember what we do here — what we do with this moment.
~Barak Obama, “A World that Stands as One”. 2,983 words.

From an actual president, less noted for his oration:

The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here.
~Abraham Lincoln, “Gettysburg Address” 285 words.

Seems like the less one has accomplished, the more one talks....

"And It Came To Pass.....

....in the eighth year of the reign of the evil Bush the Younger (The Ignorant), when the whole land from the Arabian desert to the shores of the Great Lakes had been laid barren, that a Child appeared in the wilderness.

The Child was blessed in looks and intellect. Scion of a simple family, offspring of a miraculous union, grandson of a typical white person and an African peasant. And yea, as he grew, the Child walked in the path of righteousness, with only the occasional detour into the odd weed and a little blow.

When he was twelve years old, they found him in the temple in the City of Chicago, arguing the finer points of community organisation with the Prophet Jeremiah and the Elders. And the Elders were astonished at what they heard and said among themselves: “Verily, who is this Child that he opens our hearts and minds to the audacity of hope?”

In the great Battles of Caucus and Primary he smote the conniving Hillary, wife of the deposed King Bill the Priapic and their barbarian hordes of Working Class Whites.

And so it was, in the fullness of time, before the harvest month of the appointed year, the Child ventured forth - for the first time - to bring the light unto all the world.

He travelled fleet of foot and light of camel, with a small retinue that consisted only of his loyal disciples from the tribe of the Media...."

"This is Yad Vashem!"

(I'm breaking my self-imposed exile, only because this little tale so illuminates who Barack Obama is, and perhaps who - or what - he isn't.
“But he has nothing on at all,”
And at least the Israelis - literally, the world's canary in the coalmine - are not afraid to shout it out...)

Via Gateway Pundit, we go to the great land of Israel - Barack's latest stop on his WorldWide Gaffe Tour - and find that Mr. Obama refuses to take a position on Iran's gleeful march to "Auschwitz: The Sequel":

An Israeli journalist called out to Obama: “Can you ensure that there will be no second Holocaust?”

Obama walked into the museum’s main building without responding...

Once again an Israeli journalist asked the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee how he’d help prevent a second Holocaust.
"Senator can you assure Israel that there will be no second Holocaust despite Iran's threat to wipe us off the map?" he asked.

Obama demurred, saying that it wasn't appropriate to answer the question there.

"This is Yad Vashem!" the journalist responded.

...and the name means not a whit to Barack Obama, only concerned with the photo op, terrified to speak without the Teleprompter - a mere guppy, who has suddenly found himself in very deep waters, as it slowly dawns on him that his smooth, slick movements will not protect him from the dark, hungry creatures that are circling all around.

Out of his depth, out of his league, and a danger to the whole free world should he ascend to the throne....

July 4th, 2008 (The Character of a Nation)

'DECADES later the Declaration of Independence was canonized as American scripture," historian Walter McDougall writes of the nation's founding document, "but in 1776 it was generally read once - in army camps, taverns, and village greens - cheered, and forgotten."

Its fate might have been to be forgotten forevermore, if it weren't for George Washington and his Continental Army. When our great adventure in liberty still seemed an impossible risk, they were the embodiment and vindicators of the Declaration. Our nation was born on the shoulders of an army, whose exertions and principled patriotism gave the famous parchment its life.....

Another thought on George Washington, from the King of England:

....Of course, when the war ended, he resigned his command and returned to Mount Vernon. Upon hearing the news, an astonished King George III said, "If he does that, he will be the greatest man in the world."

Character counts.

BAGHDADHow are you spending your 4th of July holiday? While most Americans probably slept, 1,215 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines raised their right hands and committed to a combined 5,500 years of additional service during the largest reenlistment ceremony in the history of the American military. Beneath a large American flag which dwarfed even the enormous chandelier that Saddam Hussein had built for the Al Faw Palace, members of all services, representing all 50 states took the oath administered by Gen. David Petraeus, Commander of Multi-National Forces Iraq.

Without the unbroken chain of men of character from Washington's army to Petraeus', there would be few freedoms to hold dear on this Independence Day....

Thomas Jefferson's thoughts on the meaning of the Declaration, some fifty years after the fact:

....less than two months before his death on July 4, 1826, Jefferson was determinedly protective of his reputation as (he directed his tombstone to declare this) "author" of the Declaration. Still, he candidly acknowledged that it "was intended to be an expression of the American mind," not "aiming at originality of principle or sentiment." Hence, "all its authority rests then on the harmonizing sentiments of the day."

And this is one of "dead white men" that we are supposed to revile, instead of revere....is his document sill an "expression of the American mind" 232 years hence? Well, I guess Obama could finesse his way around that, too...

But some things have changed for the better, at least since the liberals last held sway:

The young soldier hadn't slept in 48 hours or bathed in 72. Now that he was finally back from Iraq, all Pfc. Justin Gindhart wanted was a hot shower and a soft bed.

But these days, Gindhart discovered, a soldier's homecoming isn't always that simple.

To his surprise, there was a troop of motorcycle-riding Vietnam vets to greet him at the airport; a police-escorted motorcade, past blocked-off intersections and highway entrances, that backed up traffic for miles; an appearance at a support-the-troops rally; a gathering of neighbors and friends, alerted by fire and ambulance sirens, outside his family's house....

This is a good thing, a great thing. But remember, if Jay Rockerfeller and the Democrats had their druthers, they would be giving our heroes a completely different type (can we say "Vietnam Style"?) of "welcome home..."

I would like to offer a special thanks on this Independence Day to the American Soldier, unique in history for his/her ability, strength, will, courage, character, and compassion. Without your vigilance, all I have - spiritually and materialistically - is certainly lost.

And finally - what's the Fourth of July without some patriotic cheesecake?

Yummy.

Happy 4th of July !

A Short Hiatus

Work and vacation will be all-consuming for the next 17-0dd days; might as well go on an official short break as opposed to my lame-ass, once-a -week posts that have shown up for most of June...

Oh, I'll be back.

Do you think I am going to let that "Obamination" breeze thru the election season without feeling my (verbal) wrath? Or Frank Lautenburg, who like all aged liberals would rather die in his civil service job rather than see someone else assume his perks?

The media is giddy with expectations of a Democratic sweep; but their hype masks their fears (or highlights their ignorance). Bush the First trailed Dukakis by 17 points in the national polls in the summer of '88, yet went on to wallop him by a 40-10 margin (in electoral votes). And did not Dewey lead Truman by six percentage points (Obama's average lead) up until election day 1948? Ah, I believe mistakes were made back then as well....

Saddle up, folks. It's gonna be a wild ride....

Racism in Iowa

How else can you explain this?

Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?

Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved the problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks (and trailers) are?

Why isn't the Federal Government relocating Iowa people to free hotels in Chicago?

When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?

Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?

Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes and big screen television sets?

When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a "vanilla" Iowa, because that's the way God wants it?

Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of cannibalism?

Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates white, rural people?

How come in 2 weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

C'mon, the last one is easy! You'll never hear about it again because pallid Midwesterners suffering from a natural disaster is nowhere near as important as minorities who are hit with a catastrophe; after all, Dick Cheny would never turn his weather-making machine against his own people, right? When minorities are struck with a natural event, it is preventable, and an impeachable offense.

"Remember New Orleans!!"

But when the gates of hell open up upon Iowa? Well, whether they are Boy Scouts slaughtered by a twister, or townfolks threatened by a flood, one can almost see the smirk of the mainstream media as they think to themselves, "Where's their precious Jesus now?"
When it comes to middle-class Midlle-Americans, well, we've got it coming - actually, we all deserve it it a kind of way, right? (Unless it is something the media can spin against Republicans, like, say, the housing "crisis". Then middle-class Americans who used their homes as an ATM machine are to be pitied, of course).

The obligitory minimal reporting is provided, and the press hustles its rumpled self off, looking for something more likely to fit their PC narrative, as the citizens of Iowa are once again left to fend for themselves....

John McCain, Barack Obama, and Ayn Rand

Barack Obama, April 2008:

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will push on Friday for passage of a bill to put the huge pay packages of some U.S. corporate executives under greater scrutiny.
The Illinois senator has introduced “say-on-pay” legislation that would give investors more of a voice in setting executive compensation packages.
“We’ve seen what happens when CEOs are paid for doing a job no matter how bad a job they’re doing. We can’t afford to postpone reform any longer,” Obama said in prepared remarks for delivery later on Friday.
“That’s why Washington needs to act immediately to pass this legislation.”

John McCain, June 2008:

"Americans are right to be offended when the extravagant salaries and severance deals of CEOs ... bear no relation to the success of the company or the wishes of shareholders," he will say, adding that some of those chief executives helped bring on the country's housing crisis and market troubles.
"If I am elected president, I intend to see that wrongdoing of this kind is called to account by federal prosecutors....

And finally, Ayn Rand, speaking through the character of Ellsworth Toohey in The Foutainhead:

Watch the pincer movement. If you’re sick of one version, we push you into the other. We get you coming and going. We’ve closed the doors. We’ve fixed the coin. Heads—collectivism, and tails—collectivism. Fight the doctrine which slaughters the individual with a doctrine which slaughters the individual. Give up your soul to a council—or give it up to a leader. But give it up, give it up, give it up. My technique . . . . Offer poison as food and poison as antidote....

You can substitute "climate change" for "CEO pay" if you wish; Ayn is still spot-on, as ususal....

"Change" I Can Believe In !

Obama "changes" every five seconds, depending on who he's talking to...

Barack Obama has strongly backed Israel in his first foreign policy speech since becoming the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee...

Speaking to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, an influential pro-Israel lobbying group, Obama said, "Any agreement with the Palestinian people must preserve Israel's identity as a Jewish state, with secure, recognized and defensible borders. Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided."

In his address, Obama also faced head-on rumors that he is a Muslim and does not support the Jewish state, calling himself a "true friend of Israel."....

Uh huh. And do you want to see how fast Obama can "change" his tune on that?

....Obama's campaign backtracked on bombshell remarks he made Wednesday that Jerusalem should remain the "undivided" capital of Israel, according to the Jerusalem Post.

An aide later softened Obama's comments - which sparked anger in the Palestinian community - saying the sides will have to negotiate "an agreement that they both can live with."

The adviser explained that by an undivided Jerusalem, Obama did not mean that it wouldn't also serve as the Palestinian capital as well. The Jewish community balked at the news.

"The Orthodox Union is extremely disappointed in this revision of Senator Obama's important statement about Jerusalem," Nathan Diament, of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations, told the paper.

Get used to disappointment, Rabbi...me, I'd stick with Obama's "changed" view, which echos that of his anti-semetic pastor of twenty years...

Doesn't matter, and Obama is smart enough to know it. If Hitler rose from the 12th Rung of Hell from whence he dwells and captured the Democratic nomination (not terribly unlikely given the sentiments of the far-left element of the party), he would still likely capture 75% of the Jewish vote.

"What, you want me to vote for that Republican fellow? That Hitler guy, he may not be the best thing for the Jews, but he's sure right about socialized medicine and gun control...""

UPDATE: More waffling from the terrorist sympathizer -well, from his spokesman:

He refused, however, to rule out other configurations, such as the city also serving as the capital of a Palestinian state or Palestinian sovereignty over Arab neighborhoods.

I see.....

Thank You, Democrats!

Remember the election in 2006? The one in which the Democratic party took control of both houses of Congress and vowed to take the country in a "different" direction?

Well, where did things stand a little over a year and a half ago, back in October of 2006? Let's take a quick ride on the WAYBAC machine, shall we?

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet,
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar close to $4.00 a gallon;
3) Unemployment jump up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) $2.3 trillion in equity value simply evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses) across all American households
5) American's home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes fall into foreclosure.

What will they do for an encore, once Barack Hussien Messiah Obama is elected? Maybe he'll sign this bill, the death knell of the American economy, once 'ol George is out of the way?

And once chaos results, whom will they have left to blame?

"Look ! It's Governor Corzine...!"

First words out of my mouth when I saw this slimy SOB crossing my line at the 'ol fishin' hole:

Jim at the Parkway Rest Stop has made clear - with good humor - his personal disdain for gators. Me, I hate almost all reptiles. Peer at them, and they size you up with only one "thought" in their prehistoric minds: Can I eat you? And if they feel as if they can, they make their move...

The fellow above is the New Jersey's infamous Northern Water Snake, and it seems like he may be getting close to the four-foot limit the species usually reaches...

So eventually, little Corzine decides to head for shore, and curls up pondside right at my feet, and rests his head on a stray leaf. I was in no mood for reptilian company, so I pounded on the ground hard, knowing that snakes are more sensitive to vibration than noise.

So what does the SOB do? He recoils a few inches, sure, but instead of fleeing, he arches up an additional six inches out of the water, hoods his head, and hisses at me.

Right out of the fieldbook:

The water snake can exhibit a mean disposition and can inflict a painful, nonvenomous bite if handled.

So eventually we reached a detante, and little Jon slithered away, no doubt looking for the stray sunfish. Meanwhile, I ran smack into Senator Robert Menendez!

Who'd have thunk it?

Memorial Day 2008

Perform, then, this one act of remembrance before this Day passes - Remember there is an army of defense and advance
that never dies and never surrenders, but is increasingly recruited from the eternal sources of the American spirit and from the generations of American youth. ~W.J. Cameron

For love of country they accepted death... ~James A. Garfield

Can you judge a man by the books he reads?

And can you tell us what that man will do if he rises to power?

Barack Obama, caught on the tarmac with his latest reading material...let's summarize:

....here we have the current frontrunner (barely) to be the 44th president of the United States (the son of a Kenyan man and an American woman, named Barack Obama), reading the top-selling current events book of the season (by an immigrant from Mumbai named Fareed Zakaria) called The Post-American World.....

Don't say we didn't warn ya. Click the link for the photo of our future facist overlord....

Media Calls for Obama !

The media will not let a silly things such as "voting "get in the way of pushing their self-appointed messiah to his throne in Washington:

Obama to take big step in Democratic race

Barack Obama will take a major step toward the Democratic presidential nomination when Oregon and Kentucky vote on Tuesday, but rival Hillary Clinton still hopes to spoil the party.

After Tuesday's results, Obama will be able to claim a majority of pledged delegates won in the lengthy state-by-state fight with Clinton.

It is a landmark he hopes will signal the beginning of the end of their grueling race to contest November's presidential election against Republican John McCain.

A majority? Kinda meaningless, when there is a fixed total (2210) of delegates that must be earned, and that Obama cannot achieve, in this contest for the Democratic nomination.

With H-Clinton on his heels (although also "mathematically challenged), and Obama's "popular vote" lead now solely amounting to his margin of victory in Cook County, Illinois, isn't it presumptous to say that winning the state of Oregon on the same day he will get demolished in Kentucky is a "big step" for Obama?

Looks like the media is going to report this election the same way they've reported the war in Iraq, with Hillary/McCain being cast as the American soldier; with a narrative demanding that they must - MUST - lose to allow the storyline to continue as liberal dogma dictates....

"Plus ca change...

...plus c'est la meme chose"....

Who made the following statement regarding Muslims?

....God has cast us into the midst of this people....who persecute us severely, and who devise ways to harm us and to debase us… ....No nation has ever done more harm to Israel. None has matched it in debasing and humiliating us. None has been able to reduce us as they have… We have borne their imposed degradation, their lies, and absurdities, which are beyond human power to bear.”

No, not Ariel Sharon, you hate-monger!

Give up? It was famed Jewish philospsher and scholar Moses Maimonides; and he said it around 1180AD.

Not much has changed in 800 years; excepting the fact that Mr. Maimonides would today likely be vilified by the media - and elected Democrats - for engaging in "hate speech", which is what the Left likes to call inconvenient truths these days....

Gates of Vienna (from whom I grabbed the above quote), points out how our own dhimmi government tries to change history to suit the Muslim nation:

The U.S. State Department has proclaimed that “during the Islamic period in Spain, Jews, Christians, and Muslims lived together in peace and mutual respect, creating a diverse society in which vibrant exchanges of ideas took place.”

Incidentally, it is too bad that the study of dead white (or dead Jewish/Spanish) philosophers has been banned; for Moses Maimonides has a lot to say about a number of contemporary issues.

For instance, how about that whole assisted suicide thing?

One who is in a dying condition is regarded as a living person in all respects.

Don't tell Doc Kervorkian...and hey, you know how the Democrats have an easy answer for every problem that confronts us (and it is usually "Just let the government handle it")? Well, Moses sayeth:

Do not imagine that these most difficult problems can be thoroughly understood by any one of us. This is not the case.

Finally, some wisdom from the great philosospher that would greatly benefit any one politician who dared to practice it:

When I have a difficult subject before me — when I find the road narrow, and can see no other way of teaching a well established truth except by pleasing one intelligent man and displeasing ten thousand fools — I prefer to address myself to the one man, and to take no notice whatever of the condemnation of the multitude

Alas, that courage is as rare now as it was back in Mr. M's day....

Barack Obama: A Coward, Without Even the Courage of his Convictions

Let's do a three-step, shall we? From Obama's own website, his (gag) "plan to secure America and restore our standing":

When I am this party's nominee, my opponent will not be able to say that I voted for the war in Iraq; or that I gave George Bush the benefit of the doubt on Iran; or that I supported Bush-Cheney policies of not talking to leaders that we don't like.

More, now in meglomanical third-person:

Obama is the only major candidate who supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions

Now, from President Bush's speech in Israel today:

Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: "Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided." We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.

Obama takes offense, and goes nuts, seemingly forgetting - or scurriously backing away from - his own mission statement on said website:

"It is sad that President Bush would use a speech to the Knesset on the 6Oth anniversary of Israel's independence to launch a false political attack," Obama said in the statement. "George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the president's extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel."

Points to ponder (and I honestly don't know where to begin):

- one should read the rest of Obama's diplomatic and foreign policy objectives on his website. The thought of someone with a college sophomore's grasp of world affairs becoming the President is absolutely terrifying.

-who do we need to restore our standing with? The Israeli people, who welcomed Bush as a hero? The French, who elected the conservative Sarkozy? The Germans, who tossed out the anti-American Schroeder? The British, who just handed the left its biggest loss in over a decade? Seems like the rest of the world is trying to make up with us. I wonder what peoples Mr. Obama is referring to, when he invokes our "low standing"?

- Bush is right. Is that what is inflaming the Left so today? Next accusation: Bush is "swift-boating" Obama!

-Amazing how Obama could take the words of the President making a historic speech in Israel and somehow turn it into a personal affront. Sorry, little Barack, it is not all about you. You were likely the furthest thing from Bush's mind today, and all of your bitchy whining and moaning doesn't change that; it just makes you look...immature. Hmmm...will McCain's age actually become a advantage in November?

Finally, a thought about liberalism as it is practiced today, since I believe it relates. It seems as if modern liberalism has become all about making oneself feel good (because it is always about you, right, Barack?) with no mind paid to the consequences of the actions taken to achieve that precious self-esteem. To wit:

-Jimmy Carter goes to Gaza, Hamas attacks and kills Israelis the next day. Actually, in the ten days or so since his vistis, Hamas has drastically increased his attacks. Cause and affect?

-Nancy Pelosi goes to Damascus, assures the lowly "President" Assad that liberal Democrats will take a new direction, a path of discussion. She feels good about it, no doubt. But how do the residents of Lebanon feel now that Assad's Hezbollah allies have overtaken the freely-elected government? Coincidence, that Syria makes its moves as our election grows near? Coincidence, that Iran spurns all talks while the liberal Obama lurks in the wings?

-Food prices in America jump drastically as ethanol subsidies - a "true path" on the way to a "Green America" - induces farmers to sell their crops for fuel instead of food. The liberals feel great - hey, ethanol burns clean! - but that side effect of food shortages for the first time in nearly a century in America? Hey, don't swift-boat the Left, you, you ....denier!

It is a type of immaturity - or maybe insanity - to say that the ironclad laws of cause and effect do not apply to you, because you meant well.

Or maybe some of these liberal folks do not mean so well after all. The left's hatred towards Israel, displayed mightily as we celebrate her 60th anniversary, brings yet another point to ponder. This one comes from The Belmont Club:

Yet nothing great or wonderful is safe forever, and that darkness, that love for savagery, that admiration for the brutal, that was believed to have died beneath the ground in 1945 is on the march again.

It is crawling out of books, lofty towers, places of culture in precisely the manner Camus warned us against. He said that the evil may be beaten, but it is rarely beaten forever; "that the plague bacillus never dies or disappears for good; that it can lie dormant for years and years in furniture and linen-chests; that it bides its time in bedrooms, cellars, trunks and bookshelves; and that perhaps the day would come when, for the bane and the enlightening of men, it would rouse up its rats again and send them forth to die in a happy city."

But we may not speak of it. And therefore it begins.

Like Sauron's ring, our evil is almost impossible to destroy; it simply hibernates for a season, then returns in a new form - with cheerleaders; remember the left's enthusiasm for Stalin? - and a weary world cannot summom the strength - or the courage - to fight it until the bootprints are upon us...

Nice roundup at Right Truth...

"When Pigs Fly" Alert !

I actually agree with something Hillary Clinton said; and in The Times, natch:

“Elite opinion is always on the side of doing things that really disadvantages the vast majority of Americans.”

She's referring to the braying over her support for the repeal of the gas tax; with the loudest Donkey in opposition being one Barack Obama.

She's one the right side of this one but for the wrong reasons (political opportunism as opposed to sound tax-cutting fiscal policy).

Doesn't matter, really. Interesting thought, though - does the Hillster realize how often she is the very voice of that "elite opinion" that she so thoroughly derides?

I am sure some will soon remind her...

Filth From Across The Pond

To think that we as a nation were spawned from this decaying, decrepit husk:

Last Thursday Johann Hari, the leading political columnist for the British daily The Independent, received the (previously) highly prestigious Orwell Prize for political writing. The 29-year-old Hari “celebrated” by writing a vicious attack on Israel.

In his column in The Independent this week, he writes: “Whenever I try to mouth these words [of reassurance for Israel], a remembered smell fills my nostrils. It is the smell of shit.”

(In 2007, Hari was also named “Newspaper Journalist of the Year” by Amnesty International. He has also written for The New York Times and Le Monde.)

More on this prestigous prizewinner at Honest Reporting UK, which thoroughly catalogs Hari's knowing use of vicious, hateful lies in order to pursue his dream of a destroyed Israel.

But it seems as if Hari is an equal opportunity hate monger:

...there are so many good reasons to hate Joseph Ratzinger...

But back to our estwhile parental units, the Brits. Should they tolerate this type of speech?
Absolutely.

Should it get printed in its major newspapers?
Well, this little spat speaks to what the British really want to read, doesn't it? Or at the very least, what their elites feel is important for them to read. Hence the "decay" I refer to up top...

Should the author of such a barely disguised anti-Semetic rampage get a top literary award from an alleged panel of judges?

Ah, there we are. This type of speech is not just tolerated, not just printed in the top dailies, but rewarded. And what does that say about the soul of our European forefathers?

Decayed. Decrepit. Empty.

And they are following the path of so many similar societies - societies that either no longer exist (Nazi Germany) or are helplessly retrograde (the Muslim Middle East). The path of "blame the Jews" - first, last, and always.

Good luck with that. It's worked so well in the past.

Can we disown you now?

Not convinced? From The Orwell Prize website - besides our loving friend Mr. Hari, who else has one an Orwell this year? No suprise to find out is is another "blame the Jews first" tome:

Palestinian Walks: Notes on a Vanishing Landscape (Profile books), describes - through a series of six walks over 26 years - the destruction of the Palestinian landscape, and how it mirrors the destruction of Palestinian identity and culture.

Finally - who where these esteemed judges, whom through must what have been an exhaustive search, found these highly qualified honorees? Well, here's an interesting coincidence:

Albert Scardino – Annual Judge: Albert Scardino is a former executive editor for the home and foreign departments of The Guardian, and a former adviser to the Democratic Party in the United States.

No suprise, that. Sounds like one of Obama's guys, actually.

Where does this all lead? Here.
