Media Overboard!

Gateway Pundit calls his post "The Left Concocts a Poisonous Day of News". He refers to three patently untrue news stories meant to bash Bush, demoralize the troops, and poison America's will to fight...

The first is the gleeful report that American confidence in their Commander in Chief has supposedly plummeted: Bush Job Approval at 34% . Too bad that they skewed the results beforehand:

"Total Republicans" contacted: 272 unweighted and 289 weighted.
"Total Democrats" contacted: 409 unweighted and 381 weighted.
"Total Independents" contacted: 337 unweighted and 348 weighted.

Since there are more registered Republicans than Democrats or Independents, I wonder why CBS under-represented this particular group by almost 25%? Maybe to get the results they wanted?

Speaking of polls, Zogby puts out a doozy; claiming 72% of American troops want out of Iraq by year's end. Gateway's got a load of links to bloggers debunking this poll (one points out that Zogby refuses to even list the questions that the soldiers were asked in the poll - afraid of showing how leading they were, Mr. Zogby?); but I like this link to Atlas Shrugged; who exposes Zogby with his own words:

Zogby has accused Israel of abusing human rights and acting like a colonizer, similar to the "genocidal treatment of the Native Americans and enslavement of African-Americans."'
He is a known Anti-Semite and hater of Israel.
Zogby has a history of supporting extreme terror organizations. Zogby's anti-Semitism is well documented here:

NEW YORK- Pro-Arab lobbyist James Zogby, head of the Arab-American Institute, has publicly urged the Arab nations to refrain from normalizing relations with Israel--thus further shattering the myth that Zogby is "moderate" or "seeks peace with Israel". The web site ArabicNews.Com reports that Zogby told the Moroccan daily Al-Alam that "a drive towards normalization of relations with Israel" would be "dangerous." {
here }

...more Zogby quotes:
James Zogby, the president of the Arab American Institute, said that because of the "disproportionate number of Jews," t he State Department should hire more Arab Americans....

Zogby said that Israel's "invasion of occupied territories is seared into the Arab psyche the way the Holocaust defines 20th century history for Jews".

And the media cannot wait to print this guy's results, without even giving their readership the slightest inkling about who this man really is. Hey, I bet Hitler had some pretty good pollsters, too!

And finally, The Washington Post, in reporting on recent terrorist attacks in Iraq, deliberately inflate the casualities by fivefold, in order to foster the impression that Iraq is going to hell, we've lost the war, and we must cut and run now. Too much even for Iraqi officials to take:

Iraq's Cabinet, meanwhile, disputes a Washington Post tally of 13-hundred Iraqi dead in the past week, calling that number "inaccurate and exaggerated."
The Post cited figures from the Baghdad central morgue in its report on deaths in the violence since a Shiite shrine was destroyed. But a morgue official says as of Sunday night it had only received 249 bodies tied to the violence.

And I wonder which terrorist the WaPost will hand the op-ed pages over to this Sunday?

Of all the unpredictable twists and turns the war on terror have taken, one of the most surprising is the media capitualtion to, and shilling for, the terrorist entities. And every time that I think they could sink no lower, and I could be shocked no futher, we have a day like today...

your previous post says it all - the media is strictly trying to perserve its self-image, and the only way to do it is by keeping up their storyline, even if it is no longer true
