Al Gore and Hillary Clinton: Dueling Nutjobs!

Yesterday, from Al Gore, we get the following soundbites:

Former Vice President Al Gore asserted Monday that President Bush “repeatedly and persistently” broke the law...
...“a threat to the very structure of our government” Gore charged...
Gore said that Bush’s actions represented a “direct assault” ...

And now, ladies and gentleman, we get Hillary at the Harlem Church:

"When you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run, it has been run like a plantation and you know what I'm talking about..."

This is one of the more offensive things I've heard in some time, and I will tell you why...

If there is a plantation, it is owned and operated by the Democratic Party - the party that claims to support women, blacks and minorities only does so if they toe the Democratic party ideological line - otherwise, they have no problems resorting to racist name-calling to bring an uppity inferior back into line.

Where's the praise for Condi Rice, the most powerful black/woman in the world? Where's the kudos for Alberto Gonzales, the first Hispanic Attorney General? Where's the huzzahs for George W. Bush, the man who intergrated his cabinet not with Clinton-esque color-matching, but with qualified minority candidates?

Where's the (liberal) media's adorement of Michael Steele, a black Republican running for Senate in Maryland ? Obama got oodles of adoring press, but of course, he's a black Democrat...Steele just gets racist bile with a wink and a nod from the MSM...from Michelle Malkin:

Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.
Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an "Uncle Tom" and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log.
Operatives for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also obtained a copy of his credit report -- the only Republican candidate so targeted.
But black Democrats say there is nothing wrong with "pointing out the obvious."

Yea, Hillary, there is a plantation, and you and Al and Nancy are the masters, threating blacks with ridicule and scorn if they dare think outside of your box...Can anyone speak truth to this power in the black community?
Not Hillary - she winds up her speech with one last filthy lie:

Speaking during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event, Clinton also offered an apology to a group of Hurricane Katrina survivors "on behalf of a government that left you behind, that turned its back on you." Her remarks were met with thunderous applause by a mostly black audience at the Canaan Baptist Church of Christ in Harlem.

Nice words - I'm sure MLK would have been so proud of your attempts to divide and conquer, Hillary. Go ahead, you try it in 2008...we'll see you in Gore-land!

I think any Hollywood Producer would be happy with a movie doubling it's production costs, winning awards and not even being in 1000 theaters. I think comparing R rated movies to a family film is not a fair comparison at all.

I don't disgree with the fact that this movie will gain some measure of profitability; always a plus in the volitile world of movie-making. But I don't think that "R" vs. a "PG" is an unfair comparison; many "R" flick have made well in excess of $100 million.
I'm picking on "Brokeback" because it is the highest profile movie within a trend in which Hollywood is making flicks that reflect their "hall of mirrors" morality, and not that of greater America. ("Chronicles" does; that's why I use it as a comparison.
Hollywood is alarmed because movie revenues are falling year after year - they blame high ticket prices, expensive popcorn, digital pirates, and big-screen TV's. The truth is that the product they are releasing has no resonance with the public; and they are limiting their audiences to liberal conspiracy theorists and historical revisionists.
They better get used to $30 million dollar box office takes, then...
