You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.
And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
Wow. Guess the idea of a person holding moral values, that, you know - they may actually believe in - is so alien to the mindset of Barack Obama that he needs to invent a whole psychodrama to explain it away.
Apparently, if these folks (who have been unemployed for 25 years?) had jobs - you know, the ones that Barack Hussein Messiah Obama will create with a beneficial wave of his hand once elected - they wouldn't need all that silly "God" stuff, they'd allow the Second Amendment to be eradicated, finally throw the borders open wide, and be through with all that "bitterness"!
I don't know what's more appalling - his own underlying hostiltity to those who do not share his far-left ideology, his elitist slap at small town America, or the underlying racist tone of this comment.

Incidentally, would a man who obviously does not understand the meaning or preciousness of a moral principle ever send men to fight or die for one ? Yeah, no wonder al-Qaeda sees Obama and waits, drooling with anticipation of the fun they'll have...
How any thinking voter (except the small three-grouping I mentioned on top) could vote for this man, thinking that he may somehow represent them, is beyond me.

It's "hurricane prediction" season again, and the climatic doomsayers are coming out of their closets and spouting their visions of our wet n' wild doom:
A noted hurricane researcher predicted Wednesday that rising water temperatures in the Atlantic will bring a "well above average" storm season this year, including four major storms.
The updated forecast by William Gray's team at Colorado State University calls for 15 named storms in the Atlantic in 2008 and says there's a better than average chance that at least one major hurricane will hit the United States,

Speaking to the BBC, Professor Richard Falk said he believed that up to now Israel had been successful in avoiding the criticism that it was due.
Professor Falk is scheduled to take up his post for the UN Human Rights Council later in the year....
I don't know what to say. Really, do I need to even say anything?
I will huck a loogie at the BBC, who call Gaza "occupied" although Israel withdrew and handed it over to the peace-loving Palestinians almost five years ago. And for good measure, Biased BBC reports that the network broadcast today introducing the story of Richard Falk began by declaring the UN the "highest moral authority" .
Well then. Like pigs rolling in sh*t, indeed.
Israel will make a token gesture of defiance before the emasculated Olmert gives in:
The Israeli Foreign Ministry said Tuesday it won't allow the U.N. official appointed to investigate Israeli-Palestinian human rights to enter the country, after he stood by comments comparing Israelis to Nazis.
Richard Falk is scheduled to take up his post with the U.N. Human Rights Council in May, but Israel's Foreign Ministry said it will deny Falk a visa to enter Israel, Gaza and the West Bank, at least until a September meeting of the council.
At that meeting, Israel intends to ask the council to expand the envoy's mission to include investigating Palestinian human rights abuses against Israelis. The mandate currently allows him to monitor only human rights violations by Israel in the Palestinian territories.
Good luck with that. Can't wait to see the balanced report that Falk issues.

Recession: New Jersey
So I took a long drive Sunday from central to south Jersey, covering about 50-odd miles of primarily back roads and side streets each way.
And what I saw - and didn't see - was more than a bit disturbing.
Starting in my own bucolic middle-class neighborhood, I saw the usual amount of "for-sale" signs swinging in the breeze - albiet ones that had been posted for a while. But for the first time, I saw houses that were literally priceless two years back now sitting empty, abandoned, with big realtor's locks securing the front doors. Forced out by foreclosure? Or just moved away, with no buyers for their homes? The crisis has broken through the gates, and like the plague, is picking off my neighbors one by one.
Driving south, I passed a mini-mall under contruction, that just one month ago bragged "Only one retail space left!", now sporting a sign advising there were three different sized units still available. A second mall, further west, containing perhaps ten units, had only one operating business. The remaining nine stood empty.
And what didn't I see? Any new housing under construction - this in a state that was tearing down trees and putting up homes in every available space just over a year ago. I spotted some new home sites, but the lack of earthmovers and the weeds growing around the foundations lead me to believe they had been sitting unworked for quite some time. Nor did I see any new business sites coming up, again in a state that had been clearing out farmland by the thousand-acre for office and retail space.
And not once did I spot a new vehicle in over 100 miles of travel - new in the sense of carrying that paper "license plate" in the rear window that suffices for legality for the first few weeks of ownership. Lots of older cars, though. In a middle-class state like Jersey, where most folks flip their vehicles after a three-year lease, the absence of shiny new street metal was striking.
Perhaps it was just the route I had chosen, and the dark overcast sky that never broke during my trip, that set the mood. I drove over pothole-ridden streets, long in disrepair, and twice had to swerve to avoid wandering chickens. At a lonely red light, I looked into the trees, only to see a pair of turkey vultures - large, black, and greasy - staring ominously back at me. I rode past older homes with a single light buring thru old curtains, and past residences boarded up and left to crumble within their setbacks, wild weeds overcoming their driveways. Empty service stations - littered with clunkers - abounded; $3.00+ gas and no takers....
But it is not atmosphere. Having seen a number of my old friends over the past few evenings - most self-employed within the state - I heard many variations on a similar story: clients dropping like flies, budget cutbacks, new business opportunites canceled before start. They too spoke of delaying projects and investments for a while; I thought to myself of the ripple effect that would have upon people counting on their business. One of my good friends was just laid off a job he held for over ten years; another is counting the days she has left, knowing they are numbered.
I sat down for brunch in a half-empty restaurant ; when I asked the owner how business was, he looked down and shook his head. Smaller crowd every week, the waitress whispered in my ear.
I drove home, and as I turned back into my neighborhood a cold rain began to fall, and windswept leaves gathered on the lawns of darkened houses with no occupants....
I think we have a problem here. Maybe this is the bottom; but maybe it is not, and the fall has just begun. But I think the pundits and politicians on both sides are a little bit removed - Larry Kudlow tells us that recessions are therapeutic, while the folks at Powerline try historical perspective:
...the unemployment rate in November 1996, when Clinton rode a soaring economy to victory, was 5.4%. That's right--three tenths of a percent higher than the "grim picture" of a "pink slip nation" painted by this month's unemployment report.
But how many people does the 5.1 % of today represent, as opposed to the 5.4% of a dozen years past? For that, we get no answer.
But while the right may be equivilating and insensitive, the left is worse - Hillary demands a "poverty czar" (to keep people in?), while Obama uses the recession to make political hay - now that's audacity ! Nevertheless, his recipe of tax hikes and protectionism is abominable, and will surely be the death of us all.
Perhaps it is best for the goverment to just wait it out, as one might argue that federal interference can likely hurt way more than it can help. Still, it is little solace to those chasing chickens down godforsaken routes on wooded lanes.
I realize that due to the corrupt and corrosive policies of the Democrats, New Jersey may be in a bit of a worse "state" than others. But if my little driving tour was any indication, things in my little piece of the Union are worse then I have ever seen them in my lifetime. And I have zero faith in billionaire Jon Corzine or his flunkys to do anything to improve the situation. Although perhaps their cluelessness is a hidden blessing....
I am generally an optimistic person (as befits a conservative?). But right now, I sit worried, greatly concerned that we may be heading into quite a bit of a downspin, with no local or national leadership to help guide us through.
God has always looked over America, and has provided us with the right people at the right time. Let us hope we still find favor in His eyes...

Jon Corzine: An Obama Girl ?
Governor Jon Corzine has a long and infamous history of ignoring the will of New Jersey voters; will he do the same in his capacity as a superdelegate?
New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine (D), who has already endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton, said in a CNBC interview this morning that he may cast his vote at the Democratic convention for Sen. Barack Obama if Clinton doesn't win the popular vote.
While Corzine emphasized he still thinks Clinton will win the popular vote, he did open the door to a possible switch.
Just how egrarious of a betrayal would this be to his fellow blue Jerseyians? Well, take a look at the county-by-county map below:

So is that why Corzine is willing to swing his endorsement of Hillary over to Obama - so that he may sit more comfortably in the parlors of his contemporaries, New Jersey's high-income elite?

His governership has never been about serving the people of New Jersey; it has been about imposing the far-left values and liberal ideals held dear by Corzine - and his rich, clueless compatriots - upon the state's hapless middle class. It's about Corzine drinking champagne in the drawing rooms of the extremely wealthy, basking in the praise of the self-appointed elites as he puts their theories into practice (results be damned).
If they say Obama, so sayeth Corzine, despite the wishes of hundreds of thousands of his state's fellow Democrats.

First "The Spitz", now Thomas Athans, the husband of Michigan's Democrat Senator (and Hillary Clinton Superdelegate) Debbie Stabenow.
Wait! Just becuase he's married to a Dirtycrat doesn't make him a liberal idoit, you say? Well, let's see what Mr. Athans was previously known for:
Tom Athans is a notable member of the Democratic Party from the state of Michigan. He is a co-founder and former CEO of the liberal-progressive Democracy Radio, an organization that produced and supported liberal talk radio shows....
On November 4, 2005, Athans stepped down as CEO of Democracy Radio, ending the organization....After stepping down from Democracy Radio, Athans became the Executive Vice-President of Air America, a much larger but similar organization.
So he ran one "progressive" radio network into the dirt, which apparently by liberal credentials makes him thus qualified to lead another one, Air America. Haven't heard much from them lately, right? Well, maybe if Athans spent more time working and less time chasing hookers...but I guess that goes against the liberal credo.
Anyway, the dirty details:
The husband of U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow told police he used the Internet to make a date with a prostitute and paid her $150 for sex at a hotel, according to a police report.
Thomas Athans, 46, co-founder of the liberal TalkUSA Radio network, was stopped by police who were investigating Internet-based prostitution at the hotel, the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News reported Wednesday in stories on their Web sites.
And who was his pay-per-view paramour?
Police arrested Alycia Martin, 20, of Westland in the hotel room on a charge of prostitution and confiscated a cell phone, laptop and $431.
A girl - not yet a woman - just out of her teens. And this is considered fair trade by the head of the nation's liberal radio network.

Alternative Reality: If Obama Was Successful....
On January 30th, 2007, presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama introduced the Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007. The plan would have stopped the planned troop increase of 21,500 in Iraq, and would also begin a phased redeployment of troops from Iraq with the goal of removing all combat forces by March 31, 2008.

...following up on Thursday's theme, I guess....
Anyway - George Will is a "conservative" columnist - one who would have lost his job eons ago if worthiness was predicated on prediction accuracy - who writes better and smarter on baseball than on politics. In honor of Opening Day, he devotes today's column to the grand old game, complete with an obscure trvia quiz. Good stuff.
My favorite takes are these:
Bill Veeck, who did more for America in one night than most of us do in a lifetime (the night in September 1937 he planted the ivy along Wrigley Field's outfield walls), said that the great thing about baseball - aside from the fact that you do not need to be 7 feet wide or 7 feet tall in order to play it - is: Three strikes and you're out, and the best lawyer can't help you.....
And:
Baseball, which provides satisfying finality and then does it again the next day, is a severe meritocracy that illustrates the axiom that there is very little difference between men but that difference makes a big difference.

"The Gondor Strategy"
OK, so I read the "Rings Trilogy" like nine times, went to all the movies opening week, and own the overbearing and rather unecessary 16-disc set.
But I am still not a "Lord of the Rings" nerd...are we clear on that?
Nevertheless - when a proposition to save the world comes in the blessed form of a strategy derived from Tolkien's "Men of the West"; one must pay it some heed.
Via Gates of Vienna, we read the thoughts of one Dr. Furnish, and what he calls it the “Gondor Strategy”,which would entail setting a ‘Watchful Peace’ upon the bloody borders of Islam, as in Tolkien saga the most powerful human kingdom did against Sauron’s land of Mordor.
...the purpose of the majority-Christian parts of the planet uniting against the Muslim world would NOT be to impose democracy or in any way to change that civilization—much less to wage a new “Crusade” : “not conquest, not occupation, not ‘liberation’” but rather “feasible strategies of containment, even quarantine.”
A cordon sanitaire would be created around the Islamic sandbox until Muslims learn to play nice and stop inflicting both their near and far neighbors with anti-democratic, anti-women, anti-tolerance, and anti-modernist ideology—not to mention IEDs, assassinations and plane-bombs. And until that violent minority of Muslims obsessed with creating a global caliphate is eliminated, or at least convinced of the fruitlessness of their quest...
This strategy would be implemented by a Global Christian Alliance...
I love it, although it is hard to imagine it coming to pass. We would be damned by our own media as "Crusaders"; and few nations today have the backbone to stand tall against a charge of such political incorrectness. Better, to lay still and die quietly, so the press can write oodles of columns about "What killed the West?" or Who killed Christianity?", while never mentioning the true culprit or taking any responsibilty. Assuming, of course, their new masters allow them to write at all.
Still, I leave you with the ominous words of Boromir, eldest son of Denethor, the Steward of Gondor.:
“...it is by the blood of our people that your lands are kept safe...."
There are many that need reminding.

Barack Obama: Hatin' on Israel
So we said yesterday, we said:
Regardless, anyone who thinks this man will be any type of a friend to the Jews, let alone Israel, should be smacked Gilligan-style upside the head with a sailor's hat....
Well, over at The Electronic Intifada (gee, guess whose side they're on!), we get a report on Obama's previous campaign positions towards Israel, and get to hear an offhand comment that says much:
... In 2000, when Obama unsuccessfully ran for Congress I heard him speak at a campaign fundraiser hosted by a University of Chicago professor. On that occasion and others Obama was forthright in his criticism of US policy and his call for an even-handed approach to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict....
The last time I spoke to Obama was in the winter of 2004 at a gathering in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. He was in the midst of a primary campaign to secure the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate seat he now occupies. But at that time polls showed him trailing.
As he came in from the cold and took off his coat, I went up to greet him. He responded warmly, and volunteered, “Hey, I’m sorry I haven’t said more about Palestine right now, but we are in a tough primary race. I’m hoping when things calm down I can be more up front.” He referred to my activism, including columns I was contributing to the The Chicago Tribune critical of Israeli and US policy, “Keep up the good work!”
Israel-bashing as "good work".

So That's Where He Gets It From!
...it being Barack Obama's subtle anti-semitism, of course - which, incidentally, we pointed out some time ago here, before the media had heard of Samantha "Monster" Powers or Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
Ouch - almost dislocated my shoulder patting myself on the back there...
Anyway - from Little Green Footballs, an interview with The Great Uniter's spiritual godfather, dated about a year back, where Wright recognizes that Barack might have to create some distance from him at some point. And we know whose fault that would be:
....I would understand. For instance ... he can’t afford the Jewish support to wane or start questioning his allegiance to the state of Israel because I’m saying the position we’ve taken in terms of Palestinians is wrong, and I think we need to revisit that. Just that kind of statement would cause negative repercussions in some quarters in terms of some supporters, in terms of some people he needs to support his election campaign...
So Obama's mentor refers to Jews as "those people"? Nice. Bit of a revelation, no?
Would someone else had referred to, say, black folks that way, there would be a fury of pseudo-rage unleashed from across the nation. No double-standard here, of course....

Obama Blames Whitey
Some racial healer. But just about what you would expect from a man who has spent 20 years raptuously listening to sermons by the Prime Minister of Hate, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
Anyway: Obama -
- said black anger persists over injustice in America, and whites shouldn't be surprised that it bursts out in sermons.
"The fact that so many people are surprised to hear that anger in some of Reverend Wright's sermons simply reminds us of the old truism that the most segregated hour in American life occurs on Sunday morning," he said.
"In the white community, the path to a more perfect union means acknowledging that what ails the African-American community does not just exist in the minds of black people; that the legacy of discrimination — and current incidents of discrimination, while less overt than in the past — are real and must be addressed," Obama said.
Gee, Mr. Barack Jeremiah Hussein Wright Obama, won't you send this po' white man on the paths to rightousness?
Of course he will. My orders are to do penance:
"… Not just with words, but with deeds — by investing in our schools and our communities; by enforcing our civil rights laws and ensuring fairness in our criminal justice system; by providing this generation with ladders of opportunity that were unavailable for previous generations."
Seems like Obama is terrified of breaking with his spirtual mentor, and instead rationalizes "The Rev"'s hate speech by creating moral relevance between Wright's rants and the perceived sins of the white man (now an original sin held by all Caucasians, I reckon).
Sounds like the same way Wright rationalized the attacks on America of 9/11; and the same way a President Obama will find equivalence when terror strikes Israel, or here in the United States...

The more I think about this speech, the more I think Obama said: Damn straight, Rev. Wright is angry. That's how I wound up at his church. That's why I stay there. I'm mad too, I just control it better. Now let's get electing me president so we can all feel good.

And not just any bacon, either- we use sustainable, organic, cured bacon- we kinda felt that it went well with the organic Vermont maple syrup we were using as a base....
If you feel like you're hallucinating, maybe it's because you've sucked on one of their Absinthe Lollipops first. Legit and authentic, claims the site, containing "an amount of thujone that is within the legal limits set by the US regulatory authorities and of the European Union."
Only in San Francisco? Maybe, but for sure, only in America....

"There is no Barack Obama"
A long and powerful analysis of the phenomenon that is Barack Obama; and why - like all shooting stars - he is shining brightly before his inevitable firery crash to earth. I am excerpting a few paragraphs from the middle here, but I urge all to go visit the Instapunk and read it all. Haunting, horrifying, and sobering - well, it would be, if liberals had the capacity for self-reflection:
For a variety of reasons, we all know very little about Barack Obama. His life has been much like his campaign persona, featuring some point of contact for all people. If you're poor and black, he at least is black. If you're white and highly educated, he at least is highly educated. I f you're a struggling single mother, he at least was raised by a single mother. If you're a Catholic or a Methodist or a Presbyterian or a Baptist, he at least belongs to a nominally Christian church. If you're anybody who believes in the American Dream, he is at least, regardless of policy differences, a living embodiment of the American Dream. He has a finger in every pie. His speeches have been analogous. He wants things to be better. He wants less rancorous partisanship. He wants less conflict between America and the rest of the world. And he asserts his confidence, ever so believably, that all these utopian goals can be achieved because he is a ll of us, in one way or another.
But we don't know very much about him because the part of him to which any of us can relate is only a sliver. Hardly any of us had a white American college professor for a mother and a Kenyan muslim for a father. Hardly any of us spent large chunks of our youth living in non-European foreign countries. Hardly any of us went to the Harvard Law School. Hardly anyone in American history has been propelled to the summit of national politics with such frighteningly scant experience. He is the promising stranger who seems too good to be true. But he is a stranger, even to the 91 percent of genuine African-Americans who support him knowing that he shares none of their ancestry of slavery. And he is too good to be true. The truth is, he is none of us. Which is absolutely fine for any individual citizen of the United States. But not for someone who aspires to be president of the United States. Ultimately, we all require some connection that goes beyond lofty phrases in speeches read off a teleprompter. The damage that will simmer and ultimately explode out of the Jeremiah Wright association is that Obama is a phony, no matter how he chooses to respond. Whether he defends his racist, anti-American pastor of 20 years or repudiates him with extreme prejudice. In his heart of hearts Obama understands nothing and no one, because he has never belonged anywhere or truly participated in anything. Which is why he has consistently gone overboard in trying to belong everywhere he's ever been. In the process, he has initiated a chain reaction that will do in his party, his rivals, the people he claims to want to serve, and himself.
Who is Barack Obama? There is only one thread of consistency in all these contradictions -- his distance from everyone in his life, save possibly the mother he chose to ignore in an autobiography focused on his distant, abandoning father. Barack Obama is whoever he happens to be around, whoever the emotionally strong people in his life choose to surround him with, whoever it serves him to be at the moment.

Hardly any of us had a white American college professor for a mother and a Kenyan muslim for a father. Hardly any of us spent large chunks of our youth living in non-European foreign countries. Hardly any of us went to the Harvard Law School. Hardly anyone in American history has been propelled to the summit of national politics with such frighteningly scant experience. He is the promising stranger who seems too good to be true. But he is a stranger, even to the 91 percent of genuine African-Americans who support him knowing that he shares none of their ancestry of slavery. And he is too good to be true. The truth is, he is none of us. Which is absolutely fine for any individual citizen of the United States. But not for someone who aspires to be president of the United States. Ultimately, we all require some connection that goes beyond lofty phrases in speeches read off a teleprompter. The damage that will simmer and ultimately explode out of the Jeremiah Wright association is that Obama is a phony, no matter how he chooses to respond. Whether he defends his racist, anti-American pastor of 20 years or repudiates him with extreme prejudice. In his heart of hearts Obama understands nothing and no one, because he has never belonged anywhere or truly participated in anything. Which is why he has consistently gone overboard in trying to belong everywhere he's ever been. In the process, he has initiated a chain reaction that will do in his party, his rivals, the people he claims to want to serve, and himself.
Who is Barack Obama? There is only one thread of consistency in all these contradictions -- his distance from everyone in his life, save possibly the mother he chose to ignore in an autobiography focused on his distant, abandoning father. Barack Obama is whoever he happens to be around, whoever the emotionally strong people in his life choose to surround him with, whoever it serves him to be at the moment.
There is no Barack Obama....

Taxes !
As the Democrats push through a budget that would "torpedo" (to use the AP's expression) George Bush's tax cuts of the last eight years, and as Obama and Hillary offer comepting versions of tax reforms that fit their warped ideologies, it is important to remember exactly how taxes work. To wit:
Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, itwould go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with thearrangement until one day the owner threw them a curved ball.
"Because you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20." Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.
The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so thefirst four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.
So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill (more-or-less proportional to what they were paying before), and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.
And so:
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

Meanwhile, the question is, can today's 400+ point gain in the stock market be attributed to Spitzerfreuden ? If so, he's finally given soemthing back to the people from wh he has taken so, so much:

"I said I'd buy Dick some champagne," said Mr. Sabin, owner of precious-metals firm Sabin Commodities. "I'm sure he's happy. I'm sure everybody on Wall Street is happy."
Mr. Sabin described Mr. Spitzer's alleged conduct as "the most hypocritical thing in the world."
Score one for rich conservatives, in their never-ending death match with rich liberals.

"No one will stand with him" - The Spitzer roundup
That's from a Peter King (R-NY) comment on the mess that New York Governor Elliot Spitzer has soiled himself with. The whole quote as follows:
"I never try to take advantage or gloat over a personal tragedy. However, this is different. This is a guy who is so self-righteous, and so unforgiving. ... He has to step down. No one will stand with him." — Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y.
Geez, was this guys disliked, or what? At The Corner:
That a man so versed in the blackmail style of prosecution would so readily open himself up to that dark art is, at the very least, extraordinary....That he lacked such wisdom—or ignored it—shows a reckless disregard for the responsibilities of the high office to which the people of New York elected him.
Of course, the lefties that support him, rather than face reality, have turned their sights on the boogeyman - rather, George W. Bush:
I have a very discerning internal alarm. and that alarm tells me that this story only hit the news because the NSA, or the FBI…was snooping on this guy because he is so on the record as a trust buster and corporate cop.
Mark my words…this has the Bush Administration’s fingerprints all over it…and if the MSM digs a little deeper, they will find what Congress is afraid to look for…evidence that Bush’s wiretap program has less to do with terrorists than it has to do with political foes.

Hillary Clinton moves fast, perhaps to avoid uncomfortable comparisons:
...Hillary Clinton has already delivered the first of many "You're dead to me, Eliot"-moments, sponging her campaign website clean of all mentions of Spitzer's endorsement last May.

Dirty details emerge from the conversations of the Kristen, Eliot's femme noir. She said he wanted an "unsafe" sex act....
....Spitzer will be replaced by a blind liberal, isn't that redundant? David Paterson is his name. His record? Liberal with a capital L.
Kinda makes you want to look hard at the presidential nominee's VP's candidate, huh? Especially if one of them is named "Clinton"...
And finally, unasked-for advice from the guy least qualified to give it, another man who believes the law does not apply to him:
These are serious and disturbing accusations that are completely at odds with the man I know. They come as a complete shock. ... He will have to regain credibility not only with his family but with the public." — Democratic New Jersey Gov. Jon S.(as in "seat belt") Corzine.
Spitzer would be better served listening to Jim McGreevy. At least was smart enough to quit, and go off to a convent, or wherever it is gay nuns go.

Paradox

A Palestinian opens fire on mostly teenage students studying in a library. The Hamas government in Gaza applauds the shooting and Palestinians take to the street to celebrate. Meanwhile, human rights groups say that Israel must continue to supply water, electricity and healthcare to the same Palestinians rejoicing in the street. To do otherwise is "collective punishment."
Propping up an enemy committed to your total destruction just strikes me as total folly...

Bitter Fruits of Appeasement
The President of Iran denies the Holocaust ever happened, then gives us a wink and says boy-oh-boy you wanna see a real holocaust? Give me just a few more years...
The Palestinians can't wait that long to commit genocide; this particluar brand of Islamic thug are just going with a low-tech effort in liu of nuclear weapons (remember how the Nazis started out gassing small groups of Jews in box trucks?), for the time being anyway:
A Palestinian gunman killed eight people in a Jewish religious college in Jerusalem on Thursday, most of them students, and wounded about 10 others
Police said the gunman walked freely into the yard of the school, a modern 5-storey complex, shot dead a guard and then sprayed bullets from an AK-47 rifle and a pistol at young men marking a festive period with study in a ground-floor library.
Most of the dead were in their 20s, police said.
Emergency worker Yerach Tucker said he arrived quickly to see bloodied students run out of the seminary. "I went into the library and there were youngsters lying there, dead with Bibles, with holy books, in their hands," Tucker told reporters.
And how does the religion of peace react to the slaughter of young scholars? Need you ask?

I'm feeling a lot of good old- fashioned hatred today towards the murderous breed of humanity whom call themselves Palestinians. And I feel not a whit ashamed, because the hatred of evil is what makes (and keeps) a civilization civilized; accomodation with evil goes hand-in-hand with the breakdown of said civilization. The Palis, having embraced evil with all their black hearts (polls show 80% of Palestinian children seek death as "shahids"), are perhaps the most broken society existing on Earth today. And Israel, for its refusal to deal harshly with the Satanic force that taunts them from outside their Garden, is beginning to break down as well. Over at The Belmont Club, we hear how in Ashkelon, Israel, resident Moshe Nissimpor decided:
....that the best way to halt rocket fire from Gaza - in light of what he terms the government's failure to do so - is some vigilante justice. Nissimpor developed a homemade 200-millimeter ballistic missile which he planned to launch from Ashkelon into the Gaza Strip.
"From this day onwards, we will push back to the stone age every place which dares shoot missiles into Israel's sovereign territory," he said Wednesday. "It is time the world understood Israelis' lives are not expendable."
That's one of the saddest things I've read in a while. And again, it is down the road for all us if we do not continue to fight evil in hand-to-hand combat.
And remember, while Barack Obama claims to have no interest in meeting Hamas, in desiring to treat with Syria's Assad and with the madman of Persia, he sits with the spiritual fathers of the darkness that openly craves to devour us all.
And if Isreal is beginning to crack, what hope is there for any of us?

"Hope for an Alternative"
..that's the title of a "letter to the editor" at the Journal-Times of Racine, Wisconsin by one Angie Smucker. Miss Smucker is either a master of snark or a political genius; 'cause with a mere hundred-odd words she rips the clothes off the man whom would be Emperor, and exposes his intellectual nudity:
I agree with Kim Morrison that Barack Obama would be a great president. I have hope that he can provide free health insurance for everyone.
I have hope that he can bring our soldiers home and make the world a safer place. I have hope that he can protect Americans from poverty by printing more money at the mints.
And, I have hope that he can make me a taller, more attractive, wealthier person, immune to all illnesses. The best part is that all of these will be accomplished at absolutely no cost to me.
Some skeptics would say that he can’t do these things because he hasn’t had enough leadership experience, foreign policy experience, or government experience. Some would say that Obama can’t provide for all our needs without doubling taxes. And, some would say that he hasn’t provided one piece of a specific plan to reach these goals.
Well, to those people I ask, “Where is your hope?”
All these years I’ve been creating accomplishments and gatherine experience to list on my resume. From now on, I’ll just list my hopes and plans. All that work was so unnecessary.

Switch out "Mr. Obama" and replace it with "David Dinkins", and you have the editorial above as written on October 29th, 1989, as they endorsed his election as the mayor of New York City.

Ouch. But all true; it was New York's lowest ebb; and it took a hardcase (Republican) mayor eight years to whip the city back into shape. Kinda like Jimmy Carter followed by two terms of Reagan, I guess. But do we want to go thru that dark night again?
..... Dinkins' race did not make him a conciliator. It requires a similar lapse of logic to say the same things about Obama's supposed ability to calm terrorism in the boiling neighborhoods of the world. And such things are said, through a megaphone, with a straight face. The punditry is telling us to vote for Obama because he is black.
Finish the article at the link if you care to; it uncovers a variety of endorsements by allegedly serious writers/publication who offer up Obama's race as the best reason to vote for him; as if the color of his skin will make the rest of the world (finally) genulfect before us. Amazing that the media - which spends so much time angrily defending its postion as "opinion leader" as being beyond reproach - can see no further than skin deep on what may be the most significant election in a generation.
Someone ought to show them the Times editorial on Dinkins that fateful day in OCtober of '95; and ask them to reflect on that....

"Liberalism .... is totalitarian in nature"
So sayeth Rush Limbaugh, who makes some excellent points about the nature of this philosophy of cruelty which masks itself in the guise of rightousness:
...It is an effort to control everybody, or as many people as possible. It's based on the assumption that most people are blithering idiots and haven't the ability to lead responsible lives on their own.
This is fostered by willing accomplices in the news media who are constantly beating the drum of doom and gloom and fatalism and pessimism, and they have a lot of power in creating these negative moods that people have, not so much about their own lives, but about everybody else's.
The overall effort here is to dispirit and to depress people and to make people give up in attempting to achieve.
Listen to Michelle Obama in Zanesville, Ohio. She's basically telling people to give up. She's telling people who are poor to stay poor because there's just too much trouble in attempt to go acquire wealth. You might have to go borrow money, go to college, student loan. She's telling people to stay poor.
She wants people to stay poor. Why? I don't know if she has an inherent dislike for the country, she's got some bitterness, but she's also a liberal. She wants to be in charge of these people and their welfare.
This is how liberals get their votes. It really boils down to nothing more complicated than that, except it's hideous what liberalism does to the human spirit, it attempts to destroy it, even to the point of making enemies out of people who have achieved something, out of people who have become successful.
That about tags it. A liberal is one who feels that they know better than you how to run your life -confiscating your earnings becuase they know best how to spend your money, controlling your medical insurance because they know better than you what kind of health care you need, and limiting your speech becuase only they know what forms of it are dangerous or not.
A vote for them is an admission of your own inability to control your life, or even worse, a desire to abdicate responsibilty for your life. Both are symptoms of a society in trouble, and one that will face further decline.
Need proof? Look what liberalism has done to Europe - once the cradle of Western thought and ingenuity, now a listless continent that is literally dying off; its emptying husk filled by...radical Islamics.
