If Romney Had McCain's Support...He Would Have Won

Yeah, I know.  If my grandmother had balls, she'd be my grandfather.  But I touched on this the other day, so let's revisit it:

2008 General Election Popular Vote:

Barack Obama: 69.5 million
John McCain: 60 million

2012 General Election Popular Vote (as of posting time):

Barack Obama: 59.5 million
Mitt Romney: 57 million

That extra 3 million would likely had turned Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Colorado and Iowa red - the margins were that close.

Which makes this prophetic:

Yeah, and how about that Gary Johnson?  Drawing almost 44,000 votes in a state Obama will win by about...45,000.  Hope you enjoyed the vanity project, asshole.

But let's face it....this loss is on the Republican establishment, who offered up Mitt Romney as their best candidate, while the Rubios and Christies sat on the bench, unable to be convinced of the fierce urgency of now. Instead, for the biggest game of our lifetime, the gave us...a 5-18 pitcher.

A better candidate, with more guts and game, might have gotten us over the finish line.

Maybe next time.

Maybe.

Next time? There isn't going to be a next time!
The Republican Party is TOAST on the national level.
NO REPUBLICAN WILL EVER WIN THE WHITE HOUSE. Those days are done.
