Sicko Judge Smirks Behind Legal Mumbo-Jumbo

We posted yesterday on Justice Richard Sanders of the Washington State Supreme Court, the man accused of tormenting Attorney General Michael Mukasey right before he collapsed at an after-dinner speech a few days back.

Although Chicken Sanders has done a pretty good job dodging the media since being outed as the unruly heckler, Amir Efrati of the WSJ.com Law Blog was able to elict some information from him. Sadly, it sheds light on what a sick, disturbed, and appaling human being Judge Sanders truly is:

The Law Blog on Monday caught up with the 63-year-old Sanders. . . . Sanders didn't confirm that he was the one who shouted at Mukasey, but didn't deny it, either. He said he had "no comment except to say that having reviewed the video of the speech" on the Federalist Society's web site, "it doesn't appear that whatever was said was heard by [Attorney] General Mukasey. I left the dinner before the General unfortunately collapsed." He added that "in my mind a heckler is someone who is making repeated comments audible to the speaker [and] you'll see that that just didn't happen."

The Law Blog watched the video and 17 minutes, 30 seconds into it, the heckler's voice is clearly heard and Mukasey glances in his direction before resuming the speech.

Whether or not Sanders has comported himself in a manner befitting a sitting judge, there's no question he is acting like a lawyer.

Yeah, a lawyer who has a client that he knows is guilty! Bad behavior enough from any person, to heckle a well-respected (by both sides of the aisle) Attorney General into a physical collapse. But for a State Supreme Court Justice - the very title connotates seriousness, gravity, and intelligence - to commit this type of offense, then to dance around it while not denying it (or apologizing), is nothing short of disgraceful, and yet another blot on yet another American institution.

Will the state of Washington move to impeach this judge for not being able to "comport" himself in a manner befitting his robe?

Wait - we did say Washington, right? Sh*t, they'll probably give him a medal for "bravery" and appoint him to a lifetime term...
