Hezbollah, Qana, and an Insane World...
These two are well worthy:
Josh Trevino writes: "In a sane world, we would give thanks for Hezbollah's failure to murder, regret what has happened in Qana, and reaffirm the justice of the Israeli war. But this is not a sane world: in place of right and wrong, too many appear to operate in a universe of strong and weak (or, one suspects, Jew and non-Jew) -- and their sympathy goes to the weak, even if the weak is a shell of a polity married to a genocide-minded Muslim murder-front."
....More here: "The strangest aspect of all this, of course, is that no one doubts that Israel killed the civilians in Qana accidentally while targeting terrorists, whereas, on the other hand, Hezbollah has launched hundreds of rockets into Israel for the sole and express purpose of killing civilians. Yet where is the outrage against Hezbollah? Why is it that Kofi Annan swings into action only to denounce Israel and to promote the course that Hezbollah wants, namely a time-out so that it can rebuild its terrorist infrastructure?"
Yeah, it's almost like he's on Hezbollah's side, or something.
And on another note...seem like the Qana "attack on innocent civilians" propoganda is falling apart like so many little Jenins:
An IDF investigation has found that the building in Qana struck by the Air Force fell around eight hours after being hit by the IDF. ..
....Eshel and the head of the IDF’s Operational Branch, Major General Gadi Eisnkot said the structure was not being attacked when it collapsed, at around 8:00 in the morning. The IDF believes that Hizbullah explosives in the building were behind the explosion that caused the collapse....
Wonder if Hezbollah warned their precious civilians that the building was liable to collapse? Or that it was housing a cache of weaponry? Perhaps Hezbollah knew what was going to happen, and let it happen. If so, a cunning sacrifice of women and children that achieved what no amount of diplomacy could do - obtained Hezbollah a 48 hour ceasefire in order to restock and rebuild.
Hope the international community is proud....
Chirac's Racism
Israeli warplanes seeking to destroy Hezbollah rocket launchers blasted a group of houses in a southern Lebanese village Sunday, killing more than 50 people, most of them women and children, according to Lebanese officials and on-scene interviews by Lebanese television reporters. [ Soccer Dad reports on the Washington Post's insanely anti-Israel coverage, and their defense of, here -ed.]
Ah, the Arab media, always reliable sources when it comes to injury counts (see Jenin, alleged massacre)....but here's Israel's response:
A spokeswoman for Israel's military said Sunday the target was a site used to launch rockets into Israel and blamed the deaths on Hezbollah.
"These areas south of Tyre are areas from where scores of rockets were launched toward northern Israel, especially Nahariya and the Western Galilee," she said. "All villagers from these places were warned, days in advance, to vacate area, through leaflets, media alerts and in some cases telephone calls. The sole responsibility for fighting in these populated places rests with Hezbollah, which chooses to fight from these areas."
And here's Chirac's response:
French President Jacques Chirac's office said "France condemns this unjustifiable action, which shows more than ever the need to move toward an immediate cease-fire, without which other such dramas can only be repeated."
There is a big difference between Israel accidentally killing civilians in an attempt to get to a cowardly enemy that has provoked a war, and the enemy that intentionally targets civilians as their primary military strategy. Where is Chirac's condemnations of the following unjustifiable actions; Israeli children INTENTIONALLY TARGETED by the very terrorists organizations he is trying to protect? (and this is only a few years worth, with pictures of the innocent if you click the link):

Because Jewish children's lives are worth less than the lives of the familes of Hezbollah fighters, right, Chirac? It is important, after all, for an immediate ceasefire to take place so that Hezbollah stays intact, and can continue the time-honored Muslim tradition of slaughtering the weakest, then hiding behind their own women and children...
No peace for these animals until they are defeated. Any other course is one only aimed at ensuring the future deaths of countless more Israeli innocents, which of course brings no tears to the eyes of Chirac or Europe. Having failed in successfully pulling off a Holocaust, they have now gleefully outsourced it to the Muslims...
Still trying to blame those pesky Jews? After all, there would be world peace if they would just roll over and die peacefully, right? Er...watch the video....

"You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you."
...But this particular crazy person, a Pakistani, was simply mimicking the actions of his co-religionists, which are seen elsewhere as almost routine political acts. Why not in Seattle?
I have to admit I am beginning to view the whole world as a battlefield, a far cry from my outlook during my more traditionally liberal "give peace a chance" days. So I wince when I see various rightthinking folk putting the squeeze on Israel for a cease fire, because I have no reason to believe that spells anything but disaster. Hezbollah, a collection of vastly better armed and better trained religious psychopaths with the exact same values and attitudes as the Seattle Pakistani, will simply take the opportunity to resupply and attack again. Why wouldn't they? It's what they are sworn to do and what they believe. God told them it's so.
And yet Israel is expected to stand down. After all, they are the superior "developed" nation. The grown-ups. Actually the whole thing is inherently racist on two levels at once. Jews are treated anti-Semitically (differently from other nations) and the Arabs are treated as irresponsible "Wogs", children essentially. These two are incapable of solving their own problems. Only a multi-national force will save the day.
Oh, really? We know the record of such forces....
And the authorities (as well as the media) bury their heads, cowering in fear:
This is militant Islam in action, but we don’t want to think or talk about Islam, so we’ll pretend that the fact he’s a Muslim is irrelevant (“terrorists come in all shapes and sizes” is the official PC postion of government), and if we can’t attach a known group to the shooter we’ll close our eyes to the fact that he might have reason the understand that his religion impelled him to act.
And speaking of cowering in fear, here's a top-level EU functionary describing succinctly what drives his policy decsions - no, it's not right or wrong, or even the best interests of Europe, but:
"The backlash in the Middle East and the backlash in our own countries is worrying," said Pierre Moscovici, a vice president of the European Parliament. "We've got to be very careful with that."
And where is that backlash coming from? Uh huh....keep quivering, Pierre...good dhimmi!!

But...It's A Religion of Peace !!!!
At least five people [all women - ed.] were shot - one fatally - this afternoon at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle by a man a witness said was upset about “what was going on in Israel.”
Police spokesman Rich Pruitt said there was one shooter, who was apprehended without incident outside the Jewish Federation Building located on the corner of Third Avenue and Virginia Street. Pruitt said there were at least two victims on the third floor of the building.
Police got reports of shots fired shortly before 4 p.m. Early reports were that the victims were shot in the stomach.
The alleged shooter was taken away in a patrol car after being handcuffed on the sidewalk outside the building. Pruitt could not immediately say what motive the alleged gunman had.
One witness, who declined to give her name, said a man walked into the Jewish Federation building with a gun, said he was upset about what was going on in Israel, then opened fire. After the shootings, the man said to call 911, the witness said. The witness said the man identified himself as an American Muslim.
"We have five victims, all female, ranging from their early 20s to 40s, who have been brought to Harbor View (Medical Center)," hospital spokeswoman Pamela Steele said.
"They have sustained wounds to the knee, groin, abdomen and arm. Three of the five have been taken to the operating room," she said.
The shooting took place at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, which had helped organize a large rally last weekend to demonstrate support for Israel in its fight against Hizbollah.
American's freedom of speech and right of assembly being threatened by a hate-filled Muslim...let us hope America's Jews are not intimidated; for surely this is the aim of this animal.
I'm curious to see who condemns this action; and who shows "understanding"....

Ignatius Demands Israel's Surrender!
Hezbollah would agree to withdraw its armed fighters from south Lebanon and accept an international force there that would accompany the Lebanese army. Israel, for its part, would agree to halt its attacks and lift its air and sea blockade. The United States would call for negotiations over the return of a disputed territory known as Shebaa Farms, claimed by Lebanon even though the United Nations ruled in 2000 that it was Syrian.
Who would ensure Hezbollah's withdrawal? The UN or Lebanon, both whom promised it in UN Resolution 425 when Israel agreed to withdraw from Southern Lebanon? And is Ignatius talking about the same "international forces" that allows Hezbollah to use their positions for cover?
And finally, Ignatius clings onto the "disputed Sheeba farms" propoganda; the only ones who claim Sheeba as Lebanese territory is Hezbollah...but hey, Ignatius needs to make some excuses for these poor misunderstood murderers, right? What a soft-hearted liberal sweetheart!
Within 24 hours after a cease-fire, there would be an exchange of prisoners as part of this package: Hezbollah would give up the two Israeli soldiers it captured in the July 12 border raid that started the crisis; Israel would release Lebanese prisoners it holds. The package also includes some minor provisions, including an Israeli agreement to provide maps of land mines placed just north of the Lebanon-Israel border.
So Israel rewards Hezbollah by returning captured terrorists in a likely 500-2 swap; and Israel hands over its defensive maps to Hezbollah. Hey Ignatius! Why not just give them the keys to Jerusalem -after all, they can be trusted to withdraw and disarm on your say-so, right?
What's in it for Israel to accept such a deal, which would allow Hezbollah to survive? The answer is that an attempt to go all the way and destroy the Shiite militia would require a full-scale invasion of Lebanon, and might well misfire in the same way as Israel's 1982 invasion. Better to go for a solid half a loaf -- pushing armed Hezbollah fighters north of the Litani River and bringing in an international force to help the Lebanese army police a buffer zone -- than to risk further setbacks.
So that's it, Israel...you may get hurt - so give in to the terrorists and hope for the best...
Ignatius is a coward and a fool - would he protect his own children from a predator, or defend his wife from physical violence? Based on the advice he gives Israel, Ignatius would do neither - after all, he might get hurt protecting the ones he loves. Better to give in meekly, hand over his wife and children, and hope the animals behave thenselves...
The U.N. Covers for Hezbollah
Retired Canadian Major General Lewis Mackenzie was interviewed on CBC radio, and had some very interesting news about the UN observer post hit by Israeli shells; the Canadian peacekeeper killed there had previously emailed Mackenzie telling him that Hizballah was using their post as cover.
"We received emails from him a few days ago, and he was describing the fact that he was taking fire within, in one case, three meters of his position for tactical necessity, not being targeted. Now that’s veiled speech in the military. What he was telling us was Hezbollah soldiers were all over his position and the IDF were targeting them. And that’s a favorite trick by people who don’t have representation in the UN. They use the UN as shields knowing that they can’t be punished for it."
Seems as if the UN knew this was going on, and allowed its people to be used as human shields in the advancement of Hezbollah's cause:
U.N. officials said Hezbollah militants had been operating in the area of the post near the eastern end of the border with Israel, a routine tactic to prevent Israel from attacking them.
"We did repeatedly in recent days say (to Israel) that this was an exposed position, that Hezbollah militants were 500 meters (yards) away shielding themselves near U.N. workers and civilians," U.N. humanitarian chief Jan Egeland said. " That's why it is so inexplicable that what happened happened."
So in other words, Hezbollah had UN protection to fire from areas surrounding their outposts, since the UN forbids Israel from returning fire on these positions. Can someone ask the UN "humanitarian chief" what is so progressive about allowing Jewish civilians to be slaughtered by terrorists operating around United Nations facilities? And why is the life of a UN "peacekeeper" acting as a human shield for Hezbollah more valuable than the Jewish innocents that were being targeted from the UN's own locations?
If Kofi and the krew weren't actively using their troops as shields for Hezbollah, why didn't he order them to evacuate a free-fire zone???
And in case you had any remaining misconceptions about the UN being an "honest broker", or about the ture leanings of Kofi Annan and his racist sidekick Egeland, notice their complete silence about this little episode:
Another UN position of the Ghanaian battalion in the area of Marwahin in the western sector was also directly hit by one mortar round from the Hezbollah side last night. The round did not explode, and there were no casualties or material damage. Another 5 incidents of firing close to UN positions from the Israeli side were reported yesterday. It was also reported that Hezbollah fired from the vicinity of four UN positions at Alma ash Shab, Tibnin, Brashit, and At Tiri.
Hezbollah shooting at, and shooting from, UN positions: Fine and dandy by Annan and Egeland. Israel firing back to defend itself: A humanitarian crime.
The UN, hand in hand with Hamas and Hezbollah, finishing Hitler's work. Don't believe it? Wait, Annan and his boy-toy Egeland are moments away from slipping, and telling the world how they really feel about Israel and those pesky Jews....

Is Israel targeting the U.N.?
Israeli air and artillery attack hit a United Nations observation post near the Israel-Lebanon border Tuesday, killing four members of a U.N. peacekeeping force, U.N. officials announced.
The bomb struck a post in Khiyam, near the eastern end of the border with Israel, manned by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, known as UNIFIL, U.N. spokesperson Marie Okabe said.
United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan called on Israel to investigate the "apparently deliberate targeting" of the UNIFIL post by Israeli defense forces.
"I call on the government of Israel to conduct a full investigation into this very disturbing incident and demand that any further attack on U.N. positions and personnel must stop," Annan said in Rome...
"Apparently deliberate", Kofi? Annan also assailed the Jews for the "apparent massacre" at Jenin - of course, no such massacre ever occurred, but that didn't stop 'ol Kofi from pronouncing judgement against the Jews back then, or in the here and now...you owuld think he would have learned his lesson, but that blame-Israel instinct dies real hard...
Two thoughts:
-it has been rumered for some time that Hezbollah terrorists were firing their missles directly adjacent from these UN outposts in order to avoid counterstrikes by employing the UN peacekeepers as human shields. Quite a job those UN folks in Lebanon are doing "keeping the peace"...
-Is there actual collaberation between the UN and Hezbollah? Certainly it has happened in the past; if Hezbollah is setting up next to UN outposts, shouldn't these peacekeepers vacate? Or are they complicit in these attacks? Certainly they are trying to open the resupply routes for Hezbollah - via Little Green Footballs, we find out:
Yesterday, a UNIFIL engineering contingent from China managed to do some repairs on a key road artery between Tyre and Naqoura, and the road is now usable for traffic.
I'm sure the terrorists are relieved....
And of course, who can forget this picture of a smiling Kofi Annan with the man who is launching hundreds of missles a day into the Israeli civilian population:
So I guess what I am saying is if the UN is rebuilding Hezbollah resupply routes, and allowing themselves to be used as human shields to protect the people who are slaughtering Jews while their leader glad-hands a terrorist kingpin, why is it so shocking they they might be involved in some instances of collateral damage?
There is more to this story here; let's hope someone reports it....
War over Diplomacy?
Hezbollah has started to run low on munitions and morale, according to the IDF. Without secure lines of communication to Syria, the terrorists have been unable to resupply, and this has led jihadis in northern Lebanon to avoid joining the fight against Israel...
...Hezbollah got surprised by Israel's military response and by the lack of support they received in the Arab world as a result. IDF operations have forced Hezbollah to fire many more rockets into Israel, trying desperately to hold Israeli cities hostage in order to put an end to the IDF invasion of southern Lebanon and the bombing of the infrastructure. They have fired thousands of missiles and rockets into Israel in less than two weeks, a number that might have taken them five years to reach in the normal asymmetrical mode.
And this shows why Israel has reacted with overwhelming force, and why cries about Lebanon's infrastructure make no sense. ..
It has been clear from the start of the IDF operation that Israel targeted these assets because they consider themselves at war, not as some police force on steroids, and that the first assets one attacks in war are command, control, and communications of the enemy.
The roads and bridges, as well as the airports, would have allowed Syria to resupply Hezbollah.
Now, it appears that Syria cannot effectively rearm their proxy in southern Lebanon. I srael has even attacked convoys coming out of Syria attempting to do just that, destroying the munitions and sending a message to Syria of air supremacy, a lesson Syria has learned over and over again against the Israelis. Starved of missiles and rockets, the Hezbollah terrorists will lose their one weapon of deterrence against Israel and start to collapse.
According to the IDF, that process has already begun...
So the destruction of Lebanese infrastructure (and must I remind you that Hezbollah has two dozen elected representatives in Lebanon's Parliment?) has actually increased the chances that this war might end quicker and with less casualties than it might have otherwise.
Based on this DEBKA report of Condoleezza Rice's visit to Beirut, it seems as if Israel will have all the time they need to finish off Hezbollah; see here: Rice learns in Beirut that neither the Lebanese government nor its parliamentary majority wants a ceasefire
Seems like Hezbollah is reading too much of its own propoganda, not unlike another local despot who sits in a jail cell waiting to be judged...

The Scales Fall from Egeland's Eyes!
...a day after criticizing Israel for "disproportionate" strikes against civilians, U.N. humanitarian chief Jan Egeland accused Hezbollah of "cowardly blending" among Lebanese civilians.
"Consistently, from the Hezbollah heartland, my message was that Hezbollah must stop this cowardly blending ... among women and children," Egeland said. "I heard they were proud because they lost very few fighters and that it was the civilians bearing the brunt of this. I don't think anyone should be proud of having many more children and women dead than armed men."
Look, if you can, at how Hezbollah operates: They fire viciously destructive weapons into the civilian population centers in Israel, then scurry back into the civilian population of Lebenon, allowing Lebanese innocents to gets killed so that they may live to kill more innocents in Israel.
When is the last time the world has seen a political-military movement this depraved? Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too....
Do you remember how many millions of lives in Europe, and in Asia, they managed to snuff out last time?
And how's that Iranian nuclear program working out these days anyway?
Hezbollah's War Crimes
Look what this type of ordanance can do if exploded next to an automobile:
What do you think it does to any people who happen to be nearby?
Hezbollah knows exactly what it does...
How about Egeland? Is he ignorant, or does he feel the lives of Jews are worth less than those of terrorists?

How's That Axis of Evil Doing ?
The BBC Slips!
The British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) has admitted that many of the victims of Israeli retaliation in Lebanon are terrorists and not innocent civilians. A BBC reporter said he saw Hizbullah terrorists using a private home and added, "It is difficult to quantify who is a terrorist and who is a civilian." Media reports have emphasized that Israeli air strikes have killed more than 350 Lebanese civilians, prompting accusations that the IDF is carrying out "collective punishment" on the country.
Seems that facts won't get into the way of the BBC's inflammatory rhetoric; "UN Appalled by Beriut Devastation" is the banner headline on their home page, but it seems like they are not appalled by the hundreds of rockets that have come crashing into the Israeli suburbs even prior to the "war". Apparently, they never got over the Jenin Syndrome; and of course they breathlessly report the deranged Jan Egeland's observations as fact.
Now if the above story was the banner headline, I might have thought the BBC had learned something; but again, I guess I am raising the bar too high for these semi-enslaved dhimmis...
Re-Aligning The Goalposts for Israel, and Hezbollah
BEIRUT (AFP) - UN humanitarian coordinator Jan Egeland has condemned Israel for “a violation of humanitarian law” as he toured ruins in Beirut left by devastating Israeli air raids on residential areas.
“This is destruction of block after block of mainly residential areas. I would say it seems to be an excessive use of force in an area with so many citizens,” he told reporters Sunday.
Asked if this Israeli raid that destroyed the buildings was a war crime he replied: “It makes it a violation of humanitarian law.”
Uh-huh. Well, if Hezbollah is aiming directly at Israeli civilian sites, then hiding out within the (admittedly Hezbollah-friendly) Lebanese civilian population, thus directly causing even more casualties, aren't they in violation of your "humanitarian law", as well as several statutes of the Geneva Conventions? And geez, I believe Israel's must be the first army in human history to drop leaflets advertising to their enemies about where their next operation will be, in order to spare a few enemy-friendly civilian lives - while again Hezbollah and Hamas directly target Israeli homes and schools...what say you now, Egeland?
And speaking of which:
Palestinian militants in Gaza fired three rockets at Israel early Sunday, despite reports that they had agreed to halt such attacks.
And such:
Hezbollah rockets fired into northern Israel on Sunday badly damaged a house and slammed into a car on a main road in the city of Haifa, killing at least two people, Israeli police said.
Throughout the morning, rockets pounded northern Israel, with many hitting Haifa and its densely populated suburbs.
Directly targeting suburbs, with no military value or installations?? That's a violation of all the laws on the books, Egeland, and if you weren't such a Jew-hating dhimmi bitch you might somehow find the cojones to open your mealy mouth and say it.
But that is raising the bar a bit too high; after all, you do work for the United Nations....

Hope For New Jersey?
The son of former Governor Tom Kean (R) now has a seven percentage point advantage in New Jersey's U.S. Senate campaign. The latest Rasmussen Reports election poll in the Garden State shows Republican Tom Kean, Jr. leading Senator Robert Menendez (D) 43% to 36%.
Seven percent (7%) of voters say that they will vote for some other candidate and 14% remain undecided in this Democratic leaning state.
A month ago, Kean held a two-point advantage, 41% to 39%.
Kean has solidified support among Republicans since our last poll while Menendez has lost ground among Democrats. From an ideological perspective, Kean has improved his standing with conservative voters in the state.
Sixty-six percent (66%) of New Jersey voters believe that the U.S. should gain control of its borders and enforce existing laws before considering other immigration reform. Just 29% disagree.
Considering that folks like former Senator Bill Bradley would hold 20+ point leads this early out, only to win election by single digit margins, these numbers do not bode well for Menendez.
Nor do they bode well for the final analysis on Corzine's judgement skills...his controversial appointee for State Attorney General finds herself back in the news again (no, not for 13 speeding tickets, three license suspensions and a bench warrant for failing to pay a fine, nor for her appearance with illegal immigrants supporting their rights to New Jersey taxpayer dollars) for interfering with a police stop involving her live-in boyfriend. The Asbury Park Press does the story some justice:
There's something to be said for judging people by the company they keep. In state Attorney General Zulima Farber's case, it speaks volumes.
Farber, 62, lives with her 65-year-old boyfriend, Hamlet Goore. He is an attorney who has twice been disciplined by the state Supreme Court and whose driver's license has been suspended at least 11 times, Gannett New Jersey reported this week. Two companies Goore founded were shut down by the state treasurer for failure to pay corporate taxes.
Goore is one of the few people in the state whose driving record makes Farber's look good. Farber has racked up 14 traffic violations, three license suspensions and four bench warrants for failure to appear in court — a record that didn't seem to faze Gov. Corzine, who nominated her for the state's top law enforcement job.
If her lack of fitness for the job were ever in doubt, she proved it over the Memorial Day weekend, when she intervened on her boyfriend's behalf after he was stopped by police for failure to wear a seatbelt in Fairfield in Essex County. Apparently, Farber forgot to tell Goore about the state's Click-It or Ticket campaign — one highlighted on the home page of the Attorney General's Web site. Goore was subsequently ticketed for driving with a suspended license — again — and driving an uninsured vehicle — again. Farber's actions in rushing to the scene in a State Police car — even if one were to believe her version of the events — were indefensible.
Farber's "version of events" are here:
Farber said it didn't occur to her that the presence of the state's top law-enforcement officer could have prompted the police issuing the tickets to act differently. She said she attends all events in her unmarked SUV with a security detail.
And this is the Democrat's choice for Attorney General of the State of New Jersey???
If Kean just keeps tying Senator Menendez to folk like Farber and their mutual benefactor, Governor Corzine, we may see a rout of incumbant Jersey Democrats all the way down the ticket come November...
Defining Victory Down...
Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah acknowledges that Israeli troops can sweep across south Lebanon. But if he and his militants can survive and keep fighting, he will cement his image as the unlikely new hero of Arab nationalism.
....A defeat on the battlefield is unlikely to change that so long as Hezbollah is seen to have put up a good fight. In fact, it could give the 46-year-old, mid-ranking cleric hero status.
Only in the warped world of Arabia (and the AP) can a defeated terrorist who brought death, destruction, and despair to his host nation become a hero.
But did I mention the name of the AP's stringer here? Our breathless journalist is one Hamza Hendawi...wonder how many Lebanese, looking at their ravished nation, would agree with his definition of "hero"?
Spain's Zapatero: Jew-Hater Deluxe
The first signal came on Monday, 5 December, when during a dinner with the Benarroch family, Zapatero and wife began claiming what Vidal Quadras, member of the European Parliament, described on the radio as "a tirade of anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism".
By the moment the Benarroch couple had left the table to express their regrets, Zapatero was explaining his lack of surprise about the Holocaust: according to the people present, Zapatero claimed to understand the Nazis....
.....The recent clashes with Hizbullah, however, have promoted the longest and hardest diatribes against Israel, forcing Zapatero to loose a cover for what it was long known in Spanish politics: His hate towards Israel, Jews and Zionism.
....Although according to Zapatero, Hizbullah and Israel are the same thing, he offers no words of condemnation for the Party of Allah, spending 100 percent of the time explaining, in a rather twisted way, that Israel should let Hizbullah kill Israelis.
Via E-nough!, who also shares with us a video of a pro-Israel demonstrator being hauled away by the police as gleeful Spaniards spit vicious epitaths in his direction...
Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, Prime Minister of Spain and Secretary General of the Socialist Party - simply doing Allah's work, while finishing Hitler's...
A natural wearing the Palestinian kaffiyah -the uniform of the terrorists - wouldn't you say?
Nothing "disproportionate" about it
....Lebanon is entirely responsible for the whole thing. It is so obvious that I don't understand why it should be politically incorrect to say so. If you have seen the missiles that Hezbollah is expending wholesale upon Israel, missiles that they have obtained in the high thousands, and which by the way are stationed all over Lebanon, you will have noticed immediately that they are enormous (besides being very many). In some cases they can only be transported by flatbed truck, one or two at a time. They are entirely obvious. How can they be bussed along Lebanon's roads without the Lebanese government's sufferance? And without the people's knowledge? And both the government and the people knowing all along exactly what they were intended for, to attack a neighbor who is not their enemy, with whom they are not in a belligerent state. Moreover, the missiles were driven over the border from Syria and also were flown in through the Beirut airport. Obviously the border and customs authorities actively collaborated in supplying the Hezbollah with an awesome and exotic arsenal.
God bless Aunt Sarah, writing from Jerusalem...She's right, this is obvious, but in order to make Israel seem like the bad guy, the MSM has to ignore these basic truths. Thanks to Dawn for spreading her aunt's simple wisdom...
Bush Saves The Enviornment, Salvages the Economy!
The Bush administration's new program to cut harmful pollutants from utilities through a cap-and-trade system will do nearly as much to clean the nation's air as the Clinton administration's effort to make aging power plants install pollution controls when they modernize or expand, a report by an independent scientific panel has concluded.
...and the economy:
I know this runs against the grain of the fear-mongering we have been hearing from Wall Street and the whiners and complainers in Washington, but several things happened last week that suggest this country is definitely moving in the right direction.
The government reports that tax revenues are significantly higher than anticipated, cutting the budget deficit much more deeply than was forecast. Unemployment has fallen to a low 4.6 percent after 34 consecutive months of continued job growth. The economy was growing at a blistering 5.6 percent rate in the first quarter, and the U.S. Treasury reports that total worker compensation (including wages and benefits) grew by 7.4 after inflation during the current expansion.
Yeah, I know, Bush is a terrorist, a traitor who panders to the rich...so move to Europe, and you can celebrate news like this:
LONDON (AFP) - The economy has grown by 0.8 percent during the second quarter of 2006 compared with the previous three months, official data showed.
The reading marked the fastest quarterly rate of growth since the second quarter of 2004.
And London is the best the EU has to offer...and if I recall, none of these nations met their obligations under the Kyoto treaty .
Europeans posture and sign treaties that they have no intention of fulfilling, while smirking with smug self-satisfaction over another do-nothing solution that allows them to posture as moral superiors.
Americans actually act to solve problems, no matter how difficult, and seem to get it done.
Any questions?
The "Peacekeepers" Ploy
Nine months after the kidnapping, July 6, 2001, the UN admitted that is had the videotape. Annan ordered an internal UN Report, which was led by UN undersecretary-General Joseph Connor. (Connor was later implicated in the Oil-for-Food scam.) The report revealed that the UN had two additional videotapes—one of which contained still photographs from the kidnapping itself. The UN investigation declared that there was no evidence that the UNIFIL forces had been bribed, or that the UN had deliberately misled anyone.
Even after admitting the existence of the first videotape, Annan refused to allow Israel to view it. He claimed that letting Israel see evidence about the kidnapping would undermine the UN’s neutrality. Thus, Annan insisted on neutrality between innocent victims and terrorists who had used fake UN insignia and who had taken vehicles from UN staff a gunpoint.
The United States House of Representatives, on July 30, 2001, passed by a vote of 411-4 a resolution urging the UN to allow Israel to see the videotape. Annan relented, but only under the condition that the tape be edited so as to hide the faces of the Hezbollah perpetrators...
And the world, led by Europe, wants Israel to leave Hezbollah alone and let the UN send back these type of "peacekeepers"? Ralph Peters makes two good points:
* The "world community" wants a cease-fire - which would only benefit the terrorists. Hezbollah would claim (accurately) that it had withstood Israel's assault. Couldn't get a better terrorist recruiting advertisement.
* A cease-fire would be under U.N. auspices. Gee, thanks. No U.N. force would protect Israel's interests, but plenty of U.N. contingents would cooperate with or turn a blind eye to the terrorists. Think Russia's an honest broker? Ask its Jews who fled to Israel. Would French troops protect Israeli interests? Ask the Jews Vichy bureaucrats packed off to the death camps. (The French are more anti-Semitic than the Germans - just less efficient.)
Summation: Those whom call for a cease-fire are those that want Hezbollah to stay in existence to continue its fight against Israel. Hezbollah has none of the far-fetched claims on Israeli territory that even the Palestinians cling to (save for the Sheeba Farms fallacy); their only goal is the destruction of Israel. Those who call loudest for a cease-fire are those who hold Hezbollah's dream closest to their heart....

Who Said It?
Give up?

Has the World Turned Upside Down ?
...I opposed Bolton's nomination because I truly believed he was not the right person to represent America in the United Nations. And it's in the nomination process that we have the opportunity to find someone who is not just adequate but right for the job.
....My observations are that while Bolton is not perfect, he has demonstrated his ability, especially in recent months, to work with others and follow the president's lead by working multilaterally.
...Ambassador Bolton's appointment expires this fall when the Senate officially recesses. Should the president choose to renominate him, I cannot imagine a worse message to send to the terrorists -- and to other nations deciding whether to engage in this effort -- than to drag out a possible renomination process or even replace the person our president has entrusted to lead our nation at the United Nations at a time when we are working on these historic objectives.
Part II: Dipspit Dhimmicrat Bill Maher does some long-overdue Bush-worshipping:
....I really wanted to say that, for all those who accuse the likes of myself and the birthday girl of being unpatriotic, or hating America first, the feeling I've had watching Israel defend herself and a US president defend Israel (a country that is held to a standard for "restraint" that no other country ever is asked to meet, but that's another story) just reminds me how wrong that is. I LOVE being on the side of my president, and mouthing "You go, boy" when he gets it right.
Part III: Are the Arab people about to enter the 21st Century?
Yes, world, there is a silent Arab majority that believes that seventh-century Islam is not fit for 21st-century challenges. That women do not have to look like walking black tents. T hat men do not have to wear beards and robes, act like lunatics, and run around blowing themselves up in order to enjoy 72 virgins in paradise. And that secular laws, not Islamic Shariah, should rule our day-to-day lives.
....Rarely have I seen such an uprising, indeed an intifada, against those little turbaned, bearded men across the Muslim landscape as the one that took place last week. The leader of Hezbollah, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, received a resounding "no" to pulling 350 million Arabs into a war with Israel on his clerical coattails.
The collective "nyet" was spoken by presidents, emirs, and kings at the highest level of government in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, Morocco, and at the Arab League's meeting of 22 foreign ministers in Cairo on Saturday. But it was even louder from pundits and ordinary people.
Alas, all it took was one look at the BBC's insanely anti-Israeli Middle East page to realize how much more needs to be done...or maybe it will just be that the media will be the last to "get it"...

Vernon Robinson for Congress?
Israel's Grief, Israel's Vengence
In Tirat Hacarmel, at the funeral for Rafi Hazan, murdered on Sunday after a rocket attack in Haifa.
In the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Byalik, at the funeral of David Feldman, one of eight Israelis murdered on Sunday after a rocket attack against Haifa.
If there is to be any consolation for these souls, perhaps this photo of what happens when you lie down with dogs...
In Lebanon, the devastated southern Beirut suburbs of Dahyieh Junibiya, run by Hizb'allah.
...destruction delivered courtesy of these young girls, once targeted in a Hezbollah missle salvo:
In Kiryat Shmona, northern Israel, Israeli gunners prepare shells after they become missives from Israeli young women who were previously targeted by 1500 missiles from Syria and Iran, delivered by Lebanon and Hizb'allah.
Israel mourns its dead, then picks itself up and continues to fight evil with every ounce of strength in its collective soul. A model of courage for the West, and a reason for the jihadis and Islamists to tremble in fear.
UPDATE: MSNBC at least takes a stab at reporting from Israel:
...a third rocket. Terror on the homefront. We run another half mile. A quick response can save lives. But for all three bombs, we got there before the ambulances.
One man we saw had no chance. A direct hit.
...At the shelter, one lady is desperate. "Where are you? Where are you?" she cries.
A man says, "She's lost her husband."
The woman calls him.
Everybody hears a phone ring.
It's by the dead body...

France calls for War Againt Israel !
Ladies and Gentlemen I give you Jacques Myard, a full blown member of the French Parliament, elected by the people (from the Paris suburb of les Yvelines) to his very own seat at the Assemblée Nationale, publishing on his website a communiqué where he calls for France to undertake military action against Israel.
Under " Guerre au Liban – Israël a-t-il perdu la raison ? " ('War in Lebanon – Has Israel lost her mind ?'), the link "Lire la suite" opens a popup with the following full text communiqué:
War in Lebanon – Has Israel lost her mind ? July 18th, 2006
Multiple direct testimonials from Lebanon are coming from French people residing in South Lebanon, and particularly Tyr, according to which the Israeli army is shooting at first sight on everything that moves, and notably on civilians.
According to the same testimonials, the Israeli army would be using fragmentation bombs, and "vacuum packed" bombs that result in destruction by implosion. The bodies then look like totally dislocated puppets, like rag dolls.
That we shall let Israel act in such way is inadmissible. The French government must take every measure, including militarily, in accordance with international laws that allow it, to protect her nationals and put an end on these outrageous attacks against civilians.
The Frogman continues:
Mr. Myard is not some loony craving for attention from any of the far fringe of the French political spectrum, in the nascent run-up to the next presidential elections. He is a French member of the Parliament ("Député" at the "Assemblée Nationale") on the UMP list – France's and Chirac's (and his younger clone-in-chief Sarkozy) allegedly right-wing party. Myard is as mainstream as it gets, and as a MP, he additionally writes, proposes and votes French laws.
So the true heart of the Frenchman is opened wide - tears to wash the feet of a dying Arafat, and military force against the Jews for the unseely act of daring to stay alive.
And yet, whom can claim to be surprised?
More Islamist Propoganda from the Washington Post
The greatest mistake Israel could make at the moment is to forget that Israel itself is a mistake. It is an honest mistake, a well-intentioned mistake, a mistake for which no one is culpable, but the idea of creating a nation of European Jews in an area of Arab Muslims (and some Christians) has produced a century of warfare and terrorism of the sort we are seeing now.
Yes, the nerve of those few surviving pesky Jews to want to simply live in their ancesteral homeland, where they have lived previously for thousands upon thousands of years before the state of Israel was even "created"...
There is no point in condemning Hezbollah. Zealots are not amenable to reason. And there's not much point, either, in condemning Hamas...
So condemn Israel, of course! For existing! What a "mistake"!
There is, though, a point in cautioning Israel to exercise restraint -- not for the sake of its enemies but for itself. Whatever happens, Israel must not use its military might to win back what it has already chosen to lose: the buffer zone in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip itself.
So don't fight back...
....the longest war of the 20th century will persist deep into the 21st. It is best for Israel to hunker down....
..and die.
Cohen is sick, and bordering on racist. What other ethnic group is so viciously derided for defending their right to stay alive? Would Cohen think of saying the same thing about a predominately black nation that was constantly assaulted and abused by neighboring white militants? Unlikely; but liberal theology seems to have plenty of room for anti-Semitism these days...
Sigh...just another terror-lovin' day at the Washington Post...more of the same from this rag here and here.
Update: Best rebuttal to Cohen is from Israel Matzav:
Arabs only came to the Land of Israel in large numbers after the Jews returned in the 20th century and started to rebuild the nation, thereby creating economic and employment opportunities for Arab immigrants.
Prior to 1870, when Jews started to return to the Holy Land in large numbers, there were fewer than 100,000 Arabs living in what is today the State of Israel - including Yesha (the Hebrew acronym for Judea, Samaria and the Gaza District).
Israel is anything but a mistake, and history shows the justice of Israel's cause. With the exception of the period between the two Jewish Temples between roughly 586 and 516 BCE, Jews ruled this land continuously from approximately 1300 BCE until 68 CE. Since that time, no other government has been based in Israel, no other country has called Jerusalem its capitol, and no other people has called this land its home. It is not history that is Israel's enemy but the false narrative of history presented to the World by the Arab Muslims. It is not history that is Israel's enemy, but Arab attempts to wipe out the vestiges of that history, as if destroying all of the Temple artifacts on the Temple Mount will confirm that it was 'always' Haram al-Sharif, that two Jewish Temples never stood there and that Jesus never argued with money changers there.
What say ye, Cohen ?

Bush/Blair Transcript
It tells us a lot about the relationship between the two men, about the US-UK special relationship and the two men's views on the Middle East....and I just love Bush's opening line:
Bush: Yo Blair - How are you doing?
Blair: I'm just...
Bush: You're leaving?
Blair: No, no, no not yet. On this trade thingy...[inaudible]
Bush: yeah I told that to the man
Blair: Are you planning to say that here or not?
Bush: If you want me to
Blair: Well, it's just that if the discussion arises...
Bush: I just want some movement.
Blair: Yeah
Bush: Yesterday we didn't see much movement
Blair: No, no, it may be that it's not, it maybe that it's impossible
Bush: I am prepared to say it
Blair: But it's just I think what we need to be an opposition
Bush: Who is introducing the trade
Blair: Angela
Bush: Tell her to call 'em
Blair: Yes
Bush: Tell her to put him on them on the spot. Thanks for [inaudbible] it's awfully thoughtful of you
Blair: It's a pleasure
Bush: I know you picked it out yourself
Blair: Oh, absoultley, in fact [inaudble]
Bush: What about Kofi [inaudible] his attitude to ceasefire and everything else ... happens
Blair: Yeah, no I think the [inaudible] is really difficult. We can't stop this unless you get this international business agreed.
Bush: Yeah
Blair: I don't know what you guys have talked about but as I say I am perfectly happy to try and see what the lie of the land is but you need that done quickly because otherwise it will spiral...
Bush: I think Condi is going to go pretty soon
Blair: But that's that's that's all that matters. But if you, you see it will take some time to get that together
Bush: Yeah, yeah
Blair: But at least it gives people...
Bush: It's a process, I agree. I told her your offer to...
Blair: Well...it's only if I mean... you know. If she's got a..., or if she needs the ground prepared as it were... Because obviously if she goes out, she's got to succeed, if it were, whereas I can go out and just talk
Bush: You see, the ... thing is what they need to do is to get Syria, to get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit and it's over
Blair: [inaudible]
Bush: [inadubile]
Blair: Syria
Bush: Why?
Blair: Because I think this is all part of the same thing
Bush: Yeah.
Blair: What does he think? He thinks if Lebanon turns out fine, if we get a solution in Israel and Palestine, Iraq goes in the right way...
Bush: Yeah, yeah, he is sweet
Blair: He is honey. And that's what the whole thing is about. It's the same with Iraq
Bush: I felt like telling Kofi to call, to get on the phone to Bashad [Bashir Assad] and make something happen
Blair: Yeah
Bush: [inaudible]
Blair: [inaudible]
Bush: We are not blaming the Lebanese government-
Blair: Is this...?
(at this point Blair taps the microphone in front of him and the sound is cut.)
