Re-Aligning The Goalposts for Israel, and Hezbollah

Having trouble bashing Israel today? Concerned because the "disproportionate response" meme seems to be losing steam? Never fear, the UN is here, to create new ex-post-facto "laws" that Israel has violated! Via LGF:

BEIRUT (AFP) - UN humanitarian coordinator Jan Egeland has condemned Israel for “a violation of humanitarian law” as he toured ruins in Beirut left by devastating Israeli air raids on residential areas.

“This is destruction of block after block of mainly residential areas. I would say it seems to be an excessive use of force in an area with so many citizens,” he told reporters Sunday.
Asked if this Israeli raid that destroyed the buildings was a war crime he replied: “It makes it a violation of humanitarian law.”

Uh-huh. Well, if Hezbollah is aiming directly at Israeli civilian sites, then hiding out within the (admittedly Hezbollah-friendly) Lebanese civilian population, thus directly causing even more casualties, aren't they in violation of your "humanitarian law", as well as several statutes of the Geneva Conventions? And geez, I believe Israel's must be the first army in human history to drop leaflets advertising to their enemies about where their next operation will be, in order to spare a few enemy-friendly civilian lives - while again Hezbollah and Hamas directly target Israeli homes and schools...what say you now, Egeland?

And speaking of which:

Palestinian militants in Gaza fired three rockets at Israel early Sunday, despite reports that they had agreed to halt such attacks.

And such:

Hezbollah rockets fired into northern Israel on Sunday badly damaged a house and slammed into a car on a main road in the city of Haifa, killing at least two people, Israeli police said.
Throughout the morning, rockets pounded northern Israel, with many hitting Haifa and its densely populated suburbs.

Directly targeting suburbs, with no military value or installations?? That's a violation of all the laws on the books, Egeland, and if you weren't such a Jew-hating dhimmi bitch you might somehow find the cojones to open your mealy mouth and say it.

But that is raising the bar a bit too high; after all, you do work for the United Nations....
