The U.N. Covers for Hezbollah

In yesterday's post, I was adament that there was more to the story of the bombed UN outpost; and mentioned the rumors of Hezbollah setting up their missle launchers directly adjacent to these buildings. Turns out I was right - Little Green Footballs reports (with audio):

Retired Canadian Major General Lewis Mackenzie was interviewed on CBC radio, and had some very interesting news about the UN observer post hit by Israeli shells; the Canadian peacekeeper killed there had previously emailed Mackenzie telling him that Hizballah was using their post as cover.

"We received emails from him a few days ago, and he was describing the fact that he was taking fire within, in one case, three meters of his position for tactical necessity, not being targeted. Now that’s veiled speech in the military. What he was telling us was Hezbollah soldiers were all over his position and the IDF were targeting them. And that’s a favorite trick by people who don’t have representation in the UN. They use the UN as shields knowing that they can’t be punished for it."

Seems as if the UN knew this was going on, and allowed its people to be used as human shields in the advancement of Hezbollah's cause:

U.N. officials said Hezbollah militants had been operating in the area of the post near the eastern end of the border with Israel, a routine tactic to prevent Israel from attacking them.
"We did repeatedly in recent days say (to Israel) that this was an exposed position, that Hezbollah militants were 500 meters (yards) away shielding themselves near U.N. workers and civilians," U.N. humanitarian chief Jan Egeland said. " That's why it is so inexplicable that what happened happened."

So in other words, Hezbollah had UN protection to fire from areas surrounding their outposts, since the UN forbids Israel from returning fire on these positions. Can someone ask the UN "humanitarian chief" what is so progressive about allowing Jewish civilians to be slaughtered by terrorists operating around United Nations facilities? And why is the life of a UN "peacekeeper" acting as a human shield for Hezbollah more valuable than the Jewish innocents that were being targeted from the UN's own locations?

If Kofi and the krew weren't actively using their troops as shields for Hezbollah, why didn't he order them to evacuate a free-fire zone???

And in case you had any remaining misconceptions about the UN being an "honest broker", or about the ture leanings of Kofi Annan and his racist sidekick Egeland, notice their complete silence about this little episode:

Another UN position of the Ghanaian battalion in the area of Marwahin in the western sector was also directly hit by one mortar round from the Hezbollah side last night. The round did not explode, and there were no casualties or material damage. Another 5 incidents of firing close to UN positions from the Israeli side were reported yesterday. It was also reported that Hezbollah fired from the vicinity of four UN positions at Alma ash Shab, Tibnin, Brashit, and At Tiri.

Hezbollah shooting at, and shooting from, UN positions: Fine and dandy by Annan and Egeland. Israel firing back to defend itself: A humanitarian crime.

The UN, hand in hand with Hamas and Hezbollah, finishing Hitler's work. Don't believe it? Wait, Annan and his boy-toy Egeland are moments away from slipping, and telling the world how they really feel about Israel and those pesky Jews....
