Olmert Sells Out Israel, Western Civilization
Oh how could you leave us, Arik Sharon?? One does not think he would have tolerated this for long; but Olmert is too wrapped up in pleasing the Eurodogs who want his people exterminated anyway...DEBKA reports on the growing frustration within the IDF:
Yitzhak Ben-Israel, a member of the prime minister’s Kadima party, said in a state radio interview on June 22: “This is not the finest hour of Israel’s national security leadership.” Pressed to elaborate on who in particular he meant, the general mentioned prime minister Ehud Olmert and defense minister Amir Peretz. He reminded listeners that the IDF, its commanders and men, do not function in a vacuum. In Israel, after putting forward their recommendations and arguments, army chiefs must defer to the orders of elected government and bound to carry out the tasks assigned them. Therefore, since the government has instructed the IDF to confine itself to air force activity in the war against the Qassam missile – and barred all other means of warfare, the military has no option but to obey.”
The result is a simple equation, DEBKAfile’s military experts say. Heightened Palestinian missile attacks on Israeli civilian locations generate increased air force activity to stop them. The further the Qassam launchers retreat for shelter into populated areas, the greater the number of Palestinian civilians who stand to be hurt. Therefore, the effort to avoid civilian casualties on the Palestinian side is tantamount to bringing the IDF’s counter-missile war to a full stop.
While the Israeli prime minister repeatedly vows “We will never compromise in the fight against terror,” he and the defense minister are consciously tying the IDF’s hands against pursuing this fight.
The Palestinians have long percieved hesitation to act as weakness, and have exploited it for over a decade. How long will Olmert last, basking in the reflected glory of fashionable diplomatic dinners, while his country is ruthlessly attacked? A no-confidence vote won't be long in coming; and whomever might succeed Olmert is much more likely, given the current circumstances, to be bent towards harsher miltary and economic retalitation against Palestinians.
And this was before he bowed to the UN, and gave Hezbollah a victory. Nelson Archer at Europundits expresses his rage yesterday:
Whatever the current Israeli government says shouldn’t be trusted or taken seriously. Olmert & Co. now have the excuse they need: they’ll blame US pressures for not having allowed the IDF to fight till a conclusive victory. But it is clear that that’s what they have been basically imploring Bush to do. He finally obliged, giving this mediocre Israeli leadership an excuse not to do what it didn’t want to do anyway. Instead of asking the US to help them fight the enemy, they seemed only to have asked it to protect their bureaucratic a…s from having to answer to their own people. Wait to see them blaming the Bush administration and the US for their own mistakes. This is as low as a failed elite can get.
Israel has lost its first war, thanks to Olmert's desire to be held, cuddled, by the European elite and their UN lapdogs. Don't get to comfortable, Ehud - they're only fattening you up to be slaughtered later...
When Israel loses, America loses, and the winners are those whom worship death and terror, and their state sponsors, such as Iran and Syria. For these two outlaw nations to be handed a victory by a befuddled Israeli Prime Minister is inconceivable, yet it has just occured.
What a great peril we in the West are about to face....

So The Truth Comes Out !!
President Bush said the arrests are a "stark reminder" that the U.S. is "at war with Islamic fascists."
He'd dare not apologize for, or "clarify", this icely clear truth about the world in which we live...or I'll be one very ticked off member of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy...
Incidentally, CAIR complains here; they'll probably figure out a way to blame it on the Jews before the weekend....
Truth number two, more subtle but screaming out for attention:
As many as 50 people were involved in the plot, an internal Department of Homeland Security document said, and raids continued in Britain late Wednesday
If fifty were involved in the plot, probably about 100 people within their community actually had a pretty good idea of what was going on, what these folks were trying to make happen....yet nobody thought to turn these men in before they attempted a massacre.
Truth Number Two: British Muslims have more loyalty to those whom would carry out jihad in their name, than they do to the country that took them in, protected them, and financially supported them.
Is the Muslim community of Europe no more than an orphaned child, still brimming with anger at those that abandoned him, plotting to destroy his benefactors and steal their wealth, all the while having no idea what to do with it?
And whom will shout out these truths, and ask the hard questions?

Wartime Propoganda: Are the Scales Falling?
I was in Beirut, and they took me on this sort of guided tour of the Hezbollah- controlled territories in southern Lebanon that were heavily bombed. They are much cruder, obviously. They don't have the experience in this kind of thing. But they clearly want the story of civilian casualties out. That is their — what they're heavily pushing, to the point where on this tour I was on, they were just making stuff up.
They had six ambulances lined up in a row and said, OK, you know, they brought reporters there, they said you can talk to the ambulance drivers. And then one by one, they told the ambulances to turn on their sirens and to zoom off, and people taking that picture would be reporting, I guess, the idea that these ambulances were zooming off to treat civilian casualties, when in fact, these ambulances were literally going back and forth down the street just for people to take pictures of them.
We need more folks to qualify their reporting like Cooper has, instead of shamelessly foisting terrorist propoganda on a trusting American audience!
Nice little 18 minute "Making of..." documentary here, breaking down how the Palestinians create their propoganda videos for a willing world media
No Parasan! has some shots framed to make a Western heart ache; but nobody's fooled...
And of course, Michelle Malkin is all over it...
Lebanon Demands Israel's Surrender !
The U.S.-French draft circulated Saturday calls for "a full cessation of hostilities," with Hezbollah immediately stopping all attacks and Israel ending offensive military operations. But Israel would still be allowed to take defensive action and there is no call for the withdrawal of its 10,000 troops from southern Lebanon.
Lebanon opposed the draft, saying it favored Israel. The Lebanese government demanded that the cessation of hostilities must be complete and said all Israeli troops must leave, warning that their presence would be viewed as a new occupation and citing Hezbollah's threat to shoot at any Israeli soldiers in the country.
Lebanon also wants the resolution to include a commitment to release Lebanese and Israeli prisoners, an agreement to put the disputed Chebaa Farms area on the Lebanon-Syria-Israel border under U.N. jurisdiction, an extension of Lebanese government authority throughout the country, a beefed-up U.N. force in southern Lebanon and international help to rebuild the country.
So Lebanon wants to regain the land used to launch attacks on Israel (presumably so that it can launch future attacks?), wants to take additional terroritory from Israel (Sheeba Farms) that even the UN doesn't recognize as Lebanese territory, demands the release of all captured terrorists (so that they can continue their war on Israel), and requests the same toothless UN force (that allowed Hezbollah to become such a threat in the first place) be allowed to return to "police" the area.
Hey, why not? Every time the Arabs lose a war of aggression, the UN awards them victim status, allowing them to pursue future wars knowing their actions will go not only unpunished, but actually rewarded, even if they are militarily crushed. So isn't this UN policy of allowing the Arabs to win every war they lose actually causing future conflicts and guarenteeing additional civilian casualities?
From a reader of the Washington Post, a salient analogy is made:
Bill Cosby tells a story many parents can identify with. "Your older child is holding a toy. The younger child is grabbing at it and screaming. What do most parents do? Yell at the older child, of course. 'Just give it to him! Can't you see he's crying!' Because parents," explains Cosby, "are not interested in justice. They want quiet."
And what kind of child will you wind up with in time? Uh huh....
UPDATE: Morality from France:
Referring to American "reservations" about the proposal, Chirac said that he feared such concerns could torpedo the plan and lead to "the most immoral solution, that we accept the current situation and that we renounce an immediate ceasefire."
No, Chirac, immorality is to allow aggressors to gain victory through the EU and UN when they have failed to get it by slaughtering innocents. An immediate ceasefire will only lead to an exponential increase in civilian casualities down the road. That is immoral, Jacques....and that is why we don't see eye-to-eye with you quisling appeasement-dogs anymore...

Why the high civilian casualty count?

A Palestinian militant fires toward Israeli troops during an arrest raid in the West Bank village of Qabatiyeh near Jenin, Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006
Cvilians and children, worth more as dead propoganda tools than as live countrymen to the terrorists that claim to speak for them.
Where's Kofi Annan now? Looking at Reuters photos and decrying the Lebanese civilian casualties allegedly caused by Israel? Someone ought to show him this photo...

Straight Talk from John Bolton
Reporter: I have two questions. Mr. Ambassador, would you ask Israel to withdraw from Shebaa Farms first? And second, would you invite here Hassan Nasrallah to go to come and discuss directly with him the issues of prisoners?
Ambassador Bolton: I have zero desire to discuss any issues with leaders of a terrorist group. And in terms of what we do on Shebaa Farms, that's one of the reasons we asked the Secretary General for proposals. The Security Council, all five permanent members, concluded that Israel had fully withdrawn from Lebanese territory some years back and that's a clear decision by the Council. If there's going to be a change in the condition of Shebaa Farms, that's for Syria and Lebanon to decide.
Remember when Europe decided to give part of Czechoslovokia to Hitler's Germany, because, well, he said it was his and he wanted it? Didn't seem to slow him down a bit; probably put a bit of wind in his sails, actually.
Bolton has learned from history; has the rest of the world?

Sheehan Moves to Texas!
Cindy Sheehan, who gained international attention a year ago for protesting the Iraq war, returned to the town near President George W. Bush's ranch on Sunday to resume her protest.
Talking to reporters, Sheehan defended the purchase of a 5-acre (2 hectare) plot of land for use as a protest location. The land was purchased by her supporters through a third party to keep secret her connection to it.
"I just had a third party do it because I know that they wouldn't have sold property to me," Sheehan said.
The previous owner of the property, Celia Ramsey, told ABC News, "We were duped, we were deceived, we had no idea" that Sheehan was behind the purchase.
You mean Sheehan and her leftist lackeys have resorted to deception and lies in order to further their cause? Shocked, I am!
But here's the kicker:
Reporters and camera crews outnumbered protesters at the camp set up on the land, although organizers were hoping that more Sheehan supporters would arrive later.
There are no protesters at Cindy's Camp of Lies because Sheehan has no support among the American people; her opportunism seems to repulse even many of the true believers within the anti-war camp.
The huge media presence at Camp Cindy is more interesting, of course, and easily explainable - she is their hero; they have no problem with lying and deceit to further an agenda, and of course they approve of her agenda. Doesn't seem as if the media quite understands why the rest of America refuses to follow her (or them), but they'll keep shilling for Cindy and her demented dance on her son's grave as long as possible...
UPDATE: The depravity of Sheehan's "agent" matches her own:
Gerry Fonseca, a Vietnam veteran who attended the protests in August and April, returned to Crawford in June to help the group look for property.
Fonseca said he doubts that any Crawford landowner would have sold to Sheehan or other protesters, so he didn't reveal his connection. Fonseca, who lost his Slidell, La., home in Hurricane Katrina, told sellers about that part of his life and that he wanted to build.
He bought the $52,500 lot in mid-July, using insurance money that Sheehan received after her oldest son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004.
This is somehow even worse - Sheehan used her son's life insurance money to befoul his memory; with the help of Fonseca, who concocted a story using Hurricane Katrina in order to pull the heartstrings of the innocent folk of Crawford, Texas.
Absolutely disgusting - and they wonder why no one will follow?
"The Last Honest Man"
...Lieberman's sin is of a different order. Lieberman stands condemned today because he didn't recant. He didn't say he was wrong. He didn't turn on his former allies and condemn them. He didn't claim to be the victim of a hoax. He didn't try to pretend that he never supported the war in the first place. He didn't claim to be led into support for the war by a group of writers and intellectuals whom he can now denounce. He didn't go through a public show of agonizing and phony soul-baring and apologizing in the hopes of resuscitating his reputation, as have some noted "public intellectuals."
....If Joe Lieberman loses, it will not be because he supported the war or even because he still supports it. It will be because he refused to choose one of the many dishonorable paths open to him to salvage his political career.
He is the last honest man, and he may pay the price for it.
While many columnists root around to try to put together disparate pieces as evidence of "The End of the Right?", they blithely ignore the takeover of the Democratic party by its most leftist element, a viciously anti-war, anti-military, head-in-the sand element, and one that stridently smacks down any that are not in 100% agreement with their credo. Lieberman, possibly one of the most truly respected elected officials by all sides of the political spectrum (more so than the media-created McCain legend), is being tossed out of his party, you see, because he only voted against President Bush 90% of the time. Impure! Impure!
Reminds me of 1968 - hippiedom was at its height, universities and big cities were torn asunder by riots, and the unpopular Vietnam War continued to drag on with thousands dying on an annual basis. The Democrats, fully in thrall to that decade's anti-war left, nominated Hubert H. Humphry as their Presidential candidate. The election would go to the Democrats; it was a shoe-in, right?
America instead turned to one Richard M. Nixon instead, much to the amazement of the intellectual elite (and media) of the time. And he got us out of 'Nam, went to China, stood up to the Russians, and actually brokered the peace that followed the Yom Kipper war in 1973 (after, of course, his re-election in '72). In a crisis, America knew that strength, not appeasment and navel-gazing, was what was needed to successful move the nation forward.
Will the Democrats repeat the mistakes made 40 years ago? I here it coming down the tracks, a train that cannot be stopped, propelled by its own momentum, shrieking off of a cliff, taking good men like Mr. Lieberman down with them...

Reason #794 Why We Love Israel !!

Is she winking at me, or just going for a kill shot?
Much more here...yeah, its cheesecake, but I'll bet very few of these women have a self-confidence problem...
Our Friends the Finns!
A conscript to Finland's military tells me that in a training lecture at boot camp the instructor told the recruits that President Bush is "the worst terrorist since Adolf Hitler." Bin Laden and Bush were referred to as the "two idiots."
During the presentation, the conscript tells me, the instructor "had pictures of Bin Laden, Bush and Saddam up next to each other."
They were also told "along the lines of 'we have Israel and the US to thank for all the crises and wars in this world.'"...
Finland holds the rotating presidency of the European Union.
What a deep moral carvern Europe has fallen into...one doubts if they can been saved.
Remember this, when the left points to Europe as our potential societal model...
And remember this - from the Brussels Journal:
The Council of the European Union...is now discussing at what age the finger-prints of children can be compulsory taken for EU passports.
The issue will not be decided by parliaments - national or European - but by a "comitology" committee meeting in secret: this "Article 6" committee is composed of representatives of the 25 governments and is chaired by the European Commission.....
....the EU Council Presidency proposes that:
Scanning of fingerprints up to 12 years of age [...] is permissible if provided for by national legislation.
From 12 years of age: compulsory.
As Europe's values spin out of control with the influx of hate-filled Islamists, the EU has decided bravely to crack down on the freedoms of...Europeans.
Prediction: The more the Islamists throw the world into chaos, the more the EU will crack down hard on the few people they still have under their power. Not unlike the UN, who knows it cannot effect the actions of Hezbollah, so it ignores their genocidal transgressions and puts all of its weight to bear against Israel for the crime of defending itself against those out of the sphere of UN influences...
Two twisted moralities, vainly weilding power to hide from their enemies and punish those who come out and fight, desperately hoping to buy a few more minutes in a position of power, or to retain power under the coming caliphate...
Bush Bad, Economy Bad...
USA Today wants you to start worrying about the real federal deficit -- you know, the deficit that we would see if only the federal government didn't keep two sets of books and were honest about what it really owes.
Well, yes, the picture looks bleak if we add in upcoming Social Security and Medicare obligations -- but if you're going to start fooling with the calculation methodology, shouldn't you add in thus-far-ignored offsetting assets to counterbalance the new liabilities you're now considering? For example -- what's the royalty value of all the Alaska oil reserves now sheltered from development? What total royalties will be collected from offshore oil reserves we're only now considering developing?
And by the way -- what's the market value of approximately one-quarter of the USA landmass never privatized in the ninteenth century and therefore still owned by the federal government?
If USA Today, and all the other media economic experts, looked at potential revenue as well as potential outlays, the future may not look as bleak as they are desperately trying to paint it. When a middle-class citizen looks at their net worth, and upcoming economic liabilities, they factor in possible capital gains realizations, potential sale price of their home, value of their 401(k) if liquidated, etc. I'm sure the reporters at USA Today do the same. Why won't they apply the same simple math that any financial advisor uses to the economics of the federal government?
Might not make the picture so bleak...and we can't have that !

Ignatius confuses Arabs, Klingons - calls for Death with Honor!
...the importance of the 1973 war is that it opened the door to peace. The Arabs, humiliated by earlier wars with Israel, could now claim a measure of dignity because of Anwar Sadat's bold attack across the canal. The Israelis learned that their Arab adversaries wouldn't run from battle as they had in the 1967 war. That gave them a stake in making peace, too.
Ignatius projects some very pecuilar emotions to the actors involved here. If I recall history, the Arabs launched an invasion during Israel's holiest holiday, catching them unawares, and made some early territorial gains. Said gains were quickly eliminated once Israel started to fight, and the Egyptian armies were once again forced to retreat fairly quickly, giving up their gains and losing chunks of their own land to an advancing Israeli army.
This is a "measure of dignity"? Launching a sneak attack on a smaller nation while they are at prayer, then subsequently getting your butt kicked? If I sucker-punch a girl, then am forced to run home with her heel firmly up my ass, have I maintained a "measure of dignity"? Similarly, because it took two weeks as opposed to six days to defeat an Arab army, Ignatius seems to feel the IDF was intimidated and forced to sue for peace. Errrr....again, not the way the history books seem to recall it....
A sneak attack followed by a military defeat, and this guy uses it bestow honor upon the Arab armies? Methinks Ignatius is too wrapped up in this whole "honor "thing; perhaps he's been watching too much Trek and is confusing Arabs with Klingons? Ah, but what would any worthy Klingon do to a sap like Ignatius were he to make suggestions about finding glory in suprise attacks?
Having been alive, although rather young, in 1973, I can still recall that this war was in no way viewed at the time as any kind of a victory for the Arabs. Only Ignatius, applying his salve of liberal low-expectations racism on the Arabs, could perceive it as such. Or is this just another example of Ignatius spouting terrorist propoganda? He closes the article by praising Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah, and urges that the West cave in to terror:
The evidence grows that you can't achieve real security without negotiating with your adversaries, and you can't succeed in such negotiations without offering reasonable concessions.
Actually, all the evidence points otherwise - after all, Israel conceded South Lebanon years ago and Gaza more recently; their "adversaries" responded by moving their weaponry to the border...hey, it's easier to target Jewish civilians that way! I guess allowing your enemies to advance to your doorstep is "real security" to Ignatius...
Pardon the rest of us if we choose to believe otherwise...

Morality
[UN Secretary General Kofi] Annan knows better than to suggest a moral equivalence. He is fully aware of the tactic employed by terrorists of launching their rockets from, and hiding behind, civilian shields, so as to make democracies have to kill some civilians to get at the terrorists... [E]ven worse than the one-sided condemnations that ignore Hezbollah and Hamas are the numerous statements that perversely suggest moral equivalence.
The UN peacekeepers on the Lebanese border have turned out to be collaborators with Hezbollah, videotaping the Hezbollah kidnapping of three Israeli soldiers in 2000 and then refusing to release the video—which could have helped in the rescue—on the grounds that it might compromise their 'neutrality.'
This is a real test for the UN. If it cannot—or will not—distinguish between terrorists who target civilians and a democracy that seeks to stop the terrorism while minimizing civilian casualties, it has become part of the problem, rather than part of the solution."

Hezbollah, Qana, and an Insane World...
These two are well worthy:
Josh Trevino writes: "In a sane world, we would give thanks for Hezbollah's failure to murder, regret what has happened in Qana, and reaffirm the justice of the Israeli war. But this is not a sane world: in place of right and wrong, too many appear to operate in a universe of strong and weak (or, one suspects, Jew and non-Jew) -- and their sympathy goes to the weak, even if the weak is a shell of a polity married to a genocide-minded Muslim murder-front."
....More here: "The strangest aspect of all this, of course, is that no one doubts that Israel killed the civilians in Qana accidentally while targeting terrorists, whereas, on the other hand, Hezbollah has launched hundreds of rockets into Israel for the sole and express purpose of killing civilians. Yet where is the outrage against Hezbollah? Why is it that Kofi Annan swings into action only to denounce Israel and to promote the course that Hezbollah wants, namely a time-out so that it can rebuild its terrorist infrastructure?"
Yeah, it's almost like he's on Hezbollah's side, or something.
And on another note...seem like the Qana "attack on innocent civilians" propoganda is falling apart like so many little Jenins:
An IDF investigation has found that the building in Qana struck by the Air Force fell around eight hours after being hit by the IDF. ..
....Eshel and the head of the IDF’s Operational Branch, Major General Gadi Eisnkot said the structure was not being attacked when it collapsed, at around 8:00 in the morning. The IDF believes that Hizbullah explosives in the building were behind the explosion that caused the collapse....
Wonder if Hezbollah warned their precious civilians that the building was liable to collapse? Or that it was housing a cache of weaponry? Perhaps Hezbollah knew what was going to happen, and let it happen. If so, a cunning sacrifice of women and children that achieved what no amount of diplomacy could do - obtained Hezbollah a 48 hour ceasefire in order to restock and rebuild.
Hope the international community is proud....
Chirac's Racism
Israeli warplanes seeking to destroy Hezbollah rocket launchers blasted a group of houses in a southern Lebanese village Sunday, killing more than 50 people, most of them women and children, according to Lebanese officials and on-scene interviews by Lebanese television reporters. [ Soccer Dad reports on the Washington Post's insanely anti-Israel coverage, and their defense of, here -ed.]
Ah, the Arab media, always reliable sources when it comes to injury counts (see Jenin, alleged massacre)....but here's Israel's response:
A spokeswoman for Israel's military said Sunday the target was a site used to launch rockets into Israel and blamed the deaths on Hezbollah.
"These areas south of Tyre are areas from where scores of rockets were launched toward northern Israel, especially Nahariya and the Western Galilee," she said. "All villagers from these places were warned, days in advance, to vacate area, through leaflets, media alerts and in some cases telephone calls. The sole responsibility for fighting in these populated places rests with Hezbollah, which chooses to fight from these areas."
And here's Chirac's response:
French President Jacques Chirac's office said "France condemns this unjustifiable action, which shows more than ever the need to move toward an immediate cease-fire, without which other such dramas can only be repeated."
There is a big difference between Israel accidentally killing civilians in an attempt to get to a cowardly enemy that has provoked a war, and the enemy that intentionally targets civilians as their primary military strategy. Where is Chirac's condemnations of the following unjustifiable actions; Israeli children INTENTIONALLY TARGETED by the very terrorists organizations he is trying to protect? (and this is only a few years worth, with pictures of the innocent if you click the link):

Because Jewish children's lives are worth less than the lives of the familes of Hezbollah fighters, right, Chirac? It is important, after all, for an immediate ceasefire to take place so that Hezbollah stays intact, and can continue the time-honored Muslim tradition of slaughtering the weakest, then hiding behind their own women and children...
No peace for these animals until they are defeated. Any other course is one only aimed at ensuring the future deaths of countless more Israeli innocents, which of course brings no tears to the eyes of Chirac or Europe. Having failed in successfully pulling off a Holocaust, they have now gleefully outsourced it to the Muslims...
Still trying to blame those pesky Jews? After all, there would be world peace if they would just roll over and die peacefully, right? Er...watch the video....

"You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you."
...But this particular crazy person, a Pakistani, was simply mimicking the actions of his co-religionists, which are seen elsewhere as almost routine political acts. Why not in Seattle?
I have to admit I am beginning to view the whole world as a battlefield, a far cry from my outlook during my more traditionally liberal "give peace a chance" days. So I wince when I see various rightthinking folk putting the squeeze on Israel for a cease fire, because I have no reason to believe that spells anything but disaster. Hezbollah, a collection of vastly better armed and better trained religious psychopaths with the exact same values and attitudes as the Seattle Pakistani, will simply take the opportunity to resupply and attack again. Why wouldn't they? It's what they are sworn to do and what they believe. God told them it's so.
And yet Israel is expected to stand down. After all, they are the superior "developed" nation. The grown-ups. Actually the whole thing is inherently racist on two levels at once. Jews are treated anti-Semitically (differently from other nations) and the Arabs are treated as irresponsible "Wogs", children essentially. These two are incapable of solving their own problems. Only a multi-national force will save the day.
Oh, really? We know the record of such forces....
And the authorities (as well as the media) bury their heads, cowering in fear:
This is militant Islam in action, but we don’t want to think or talk about Islam, so we’ll pretend that the fact he’s a Muslim is irrelevant (“terrorists come in all shapes and sizes” is the official PC postion of government), and if we can’t attach a known group to the shooter we’ll close our eyes to the fact that he might have reason the understand that his religion impelled him to act.
And speaking of cowering in fear, here's a top-level EU functionary describing succinctly what drives his policy decsions - no, it's not right or wrong, or even the best interests of Europe, but:
"The backlash in the Middle East and the backlash in our own countries is worrying," said Pierre Moscovici, a vice president of the European Parliament. "We've got to be very careful with that."
And where is that backlash coming from? Uh huh....keep quivering, Pierre...good dhimmi!!

But...It's A Religion of Peace !!!!
At least five people [all women - ed.] were shot - one fatally - this afternoon at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle by a man a witness said was upset about “what was going on in Israel.”
Police spokesman Rich Pruitt said there was one shooter, who was apprehended without incident outside the Jewish Federation Building located on the corner of Third Avenue and Virginia Street. Pruitt said there were at least two victims on the third floor of the building.
Police got reports of shots fired shortly before 4 p.m. Early reports were that the victims were shot in the stomach.
The alleged shooter was taken away in a patrol car after being handcuffed on the sidewalk outside the building. Pruitt could not immediately say what motive the alleged gunman had.
One witness, who declined to give her name, said a man walked into the Jewish Federation building with a gun, said he was upset about what was going on in Israel, then opened fire. After the shootings, the man said to call 911, the witness said. The witness said the man identified himself as an American Muslim.
"We have five victims, all female, ranging from their early 20s to 40s, who have been brought to Harbor View (Medical Center)," hospital spokeswoman Pamela Steele said.
"They have sustained wounds to the knee, groin, abdomen and arm. Three of the five have been taken to the operating room," she said.
The shooting took place at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, which had helped organize a large rally last weekend to demonstrate support for Israel in its fight against Hizbollah.
American's freedom of speech and right of assembly being threatened by a hate-filled Muslim...let us hope America's Jews are not intimidated; for surely this is the aim of this animal.
I'm curious to see who condemns this action; and who shows "understanding"....

Ignatius Demands Israel's Surrender!
Hezbollah would agree to withdraw its armed fighters from south Lebanon and accept an international force there that would accompany the Lebanese army. Israel, for its part, would agree to halt its attacks and lift its air and sea blockade. The United States would call for negotiations over the return of a disputed territory known as Shebaa Farms, claimed by Lebanon even though the United Nations ruled in 2000 that it was Syrian.
Who would ensure Hezbollah's withdrawal? The UN or Lebanon, both whom promised it in UN Resolution 425 when Israel agreed to withdraw from Southern Lebanon? And is Ignatius talking about the same "international forces" that allows Hezbollah to use their positions for cover?
And finally, Ignatius clings onto the "disputed Sheeba farms" propoganda; the only ones who claim Sheeba as Lebanese territory is Hezbollah...but hey, Ignatius needs to make some excuses for these poor misunderstood murderers, right? What a soft-hearted liberal sweetheart!
Within 24 hours after a cease-fire, there would be an exchange of prisoners as part of this package: Hezbollah would give up the two Israeli soldiers it captured in the July 12 border raid that started the crisis; Israel would release Lebanese prisoners it holds. The package also includes some minor provisions, including an Israeli agreement to provide maps of land mines placed just north of the Lebanon-Israel border.
So Israel rewards Hezbollah by returning captured terrorists in a likely 500-2 swap; and Israel hands over its defensive maps to Hezbollah. Hey Ignatius! Why not just give them the keys to Jerusalem -after all, they can be trusted to withdraw and disarm on your say-so, right?
What's in it for Israel to accept such a deal, which would allow Hezbollah to survive? The answer is that an attempt to go all the way and destroy the Shiite militia would require a full-scale invasion of Lebanon, and might well misfire in the same way as Israel's 1982 invasion. Better to go for a solid half a loaf -- pushing armed Hezbollah fighters north of the Litani River and bringing in an international force to help the Lebanese army police a buffer zone -- than to risk further setbacks.
So that's it, Israel...you may get hurt - so give in to the terrorists and hope for the best...
Ignatius is a coward and a fool - would he protect his own children from a predator, or defend his wife from physical violence? Based on the advice he gives Israel, Ignatius would do neither - after all, he might get hurt protecting the ones he loves. Better to give in meekly, hand over his wife and children, and hope the animals behave thenselves...
The U.N. Covers for Hezbollah
Retired Canadian Major General Lewis Mackenzie was interviewed on CBC radio, and had some very interesting news about the UN observer post hit by Israeli shells; the Canadian peacekeeper killed there had previously emailed Mackenzie telling him that Hizballah was using their post as cover.
"We received emails from him a few days ago, and he was describing the fact that he was taking fire within, in one case, three meters of his position for tactical necessity, not being targeted. Now that’s veiled speech in the military. What he was telling us was Hezbollah soldiers were all over his position and the IDF were targeting them. And that’s a favorite trick by people who don’t have representation in the UN. They use the UN as shields knowing that they can’t be punished for it."
Seems as if the UN knew this was going on, and allowed its people to be used as human shields in the advancement of Hezbollah's cause:
U.N. officials said Hezbollah militants had been operating in the area of the post near the eastern end of the border with Israel, a routine tactic to prevent Israel from attacking them.
"We did repeatedly in recent days say (to Israel) that this was an exposed position, that Hezbollah militants were 500 meters (yards) away shielding themselves near U.N. workers and civilians," U.N. humanitarian chief Jan Egeland said. " That's why it is so inexplicable that what happened happened."
So in other words, Hezbollah had UN protection to fire from areas surrounding their outposts, since the UN forbids Israel from returning fire on these positions. Can someone ask the UN "humanitarian chief" what is so progressive about allowing Jewish civilians to be slaughtered by terrorists operating around United Nations facilities? And why is the life of a UN "peacekeeper" acting as a human shield for Hezbollah more valuable than the Jewish innocents that were being targeted from the UN's own locations?
If Kofi and the krew weren't actively using their troops as shields for Hezbollah, why didn't he order them to evacuate a free-fire zone???
And in case you had any remaining misconceptions about the UN being an "honest broker", or about the ture leanings of Kofi Annan and his racist sidekick Egeland, notice their complete silence about this little episode:
Another UN position of the Ghanaian battalion in the area of Marwahin in the western sector was also directly hit by one mortar round from the Hezbollah side last night. The round did not explode, and there were no casualties or material damage. Another 5 incidents of firing close to UN positions from the Israeli side were reported yesterday. It was also reported that Hezbollah fired from the vicinity of four UN positions at Alma ash Shab, Tibnin, Brashit, and At Tiri.
Hezbollah shooting at, and shooting from, UN positions: Fine and dandy by Annan and Egeland. Israel firing back to defend itself: A humanitarian crime.
The UN, hand in hand with Hamas and Hezbollah, finishing Hitler's work. Don't believe it? Wait, Annan and his boy-toy Egeland are moments away from slipping, and telling the world how they really feel about Israel and those pesky Jews....

Is Israel targeting the U.N.?
Israeli air and artillery attack hit a United Nations observation post near the Israel-Lebanon border Tuesday, killing four members of a U.N. peacekeeping force, U.N. officials announced.
The bomb struck a post in Khiyam, near the eastern end of the border with Israel, manned by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, known as UNIFIL, U.N. spokesperson Marie Okabe said.
United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan called on Israel to investigate the "apparently deliberate targeting" of the UNIFIL post by Israeli defense forces.
"I call on the government of Israel to conduct a full investigation into this very disturbing incident and demand that any further attack on U.N. positions and personnel must stop," Annan said in Rome...
"Apparently deliberate", Kofi? Annan also assailed the Jews for the "apparent massacre" at Jenin - of course, no such massacre ever occurred, but that didn't stop 'ol Kofi from pronouncing judgement against the Jews back then, or in the here and now...you owuld think he would have learned his lesson, but that blame-Israel instinct dies real hard...
Two thoughts:
-it has been rumered for some time that Hezbollah terrorists were firing their missles directly adjacent from these UN outposts in order to avoid counterstrikes by employing the UN peacekeepers as human shields. Quite a job those UN folks in Lebanon are doing "keeping the peace"...
-Is there actual collaberation between the UN and Hezbollah? Certainly it has happened in the past; if Hezbollah is setting up next to UN outposts, shouldn't these peacekeepers vacate? Or are they complicit in these attacks? Certainly they are trying to open the resupply routes for Hezbollah - via Little Green Footballs, we find out:
Yesterday, a UNIFIL engineering contingent from China managed to do some repairs on a key road artery between Tyre and Naqoura, and the road is now usable for traffic.
I'm sure the terrorists are relieved....
And of course, who can forget this picture of a smiling Kofi Annan with the man who is launching hundreds of missles a day into the Israeli civilian population:
So I guess what I am saying is if the UN is rebuilding Hezbollah resupply routes, and allowing themselves to be used as human shields to protect the people who are slaughtering Jews while their leader glad-hands a terrorist kingpin, why is it so shocking they they might be involved in some instances of collateral damage?
There is more to this story here; let's hope someone reports it....
