Nuts To You, Jimmy!

So after years of railing against Israel, "Zionists", and Jews (both American and international), Jimmy Dhimmi Carter has decided, well, maybe he was a little too rough on those Jew bastards:

Carter Apologizes for ‘Stigmatizing Israel’

WASHINGTON Former US President Jimmy Carter on Monday asked for the Jewish community’s forgiveness for any negative stigma he may have caused Israel over the years.

Carter....enraged the American Jewish community’s in the past with various statements made in his book “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid.” In the book, Carter blamed Israel for impeding the Middle East peace process via settlement construction, further claiming such a policy will lead to apartheid. The former president also accused Israel of interfering with US efforts to broker peace in the region.

“We must recognize Israel’s achievements under difficult circumstances, even as we strive in a positive way to help Israel continue to improve its relations with its Arab populations, but we must not permit criticisms for improvement to stigmatize Israel."

A honest change of heart from an old man looking to repent before Christmas, looking not to die with a large portion of his nation having branded him as an anti-Semite?

Or an opportunist, looking out to help his grandson succeed in the world of politics? A-ha!

Jimmy Carter is asking the Jewish community for forgiveness -- and insists it’s not simply because his grandson has decided to launch a political career with a run for the Georgia state Senate.

Jason Carter, 34, an Atlanta-area lawyer, is considering a run to fill a seat covering suburban DeKalb County should the incumbent, David Adelman, win confirmation as President Obama's designated ambassador to Singapore.
The seat, which is university heavy -- Emory, among others, is situated there -- also has a substantial Jewish community.

Carter response to the accusation he is cruelly manipulating the Jewish people in order to erase any stigma of anti-semitism from his brethren? An interesting one:

Carter insisted that ethnic electoral considerations were not reason enough to reach out to the Jewish community, although he did not outright deny that it was a factor.

"Jason has a district, the number of Jewish voters in it is only 2 percent," he said, chuckling.

Coincidentally, of course - and with a "chuckle"- Carter knew exactly what the percentage of Jews is in his grandson's potential district.

Who's dumb enough to believe this is a sincere change of heart, and not connected to the political fortunes of the Carter clan? Why, Abe Foxman, director of the Anti-Defamation League !

"When a former president reaches out to the Jewish community and asks for forgiveness, it's incumbent of us to accept it," he said in a telephone interview from Jerusalem.

Well, Abe, you can sell it in the schmatta market. It is not incumbent of me to accept an apology from a man who has used his position as one of the most powerful people in the world to degenerate Israel and American Jews, and who has put both of them at risk by claiming the nation was a threat to peace, and the people were a threat to America. His words were taken by haters across the world and used as ammunition against the Jews and Israel - in universities, in the media, by hostile governments, and in the street. And now it is incumbent of me as a Jew to immediately fall prostrate before this hateful old man and gratefully accept his apology? I don't think so, Abe. You may be a sucker, and I may have been born at night, but not last night, pal.

A half-hearted apology on the eve of a grandson's House race is meaningless. Let's see some actual acts of contrition first to see if there is any heart and effort behind the words.

In the meantime, Dhimmi Jimmi - nuts to you and your apology. Sell it at the suk to the Arabs...
