Yeah, OK, I've been saying that since November of 2008. But it seems as if the American people are getting on board with the Jerseynut...Public Policy Polling (the only one who called the NJ governor's election right, incidentally) has this somewhat surprising report:
Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama's declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they'd rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that's somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country's difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore....
Spot-on commentary from Jen Rubin at...Commentary:
It’s only when presented with an “un-Bush” — the elite, Ivy Leagued cool guy who made media pundits swoon like schoolgirls — that the public, it seems, has come to appreciate George W. Bush: the decider, the man who teared up in the wake of 9/11, the president who frankly couldn’t stand the Israel and America bashers at the UN, and the conservative who may have frustrated conservatives with insufficient frugality but who understood and appreciated the limits of the federal government. Bush’s stalwart position on the war on terror (pro–enhanced interrogations, anti–Guantanamo closing) is shared by a majority of voters.
This, on top of yesterday's news that Sarah Palin, polling at 47%, is essentially tied in popularity with Barack Obama,who may soon see a 47% approval rating as a good day. (Incidentally, the URL on the LA Times story is http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/11/not-that-it-matters-politically-because-shes-a-republican-idiot-and-hes-a-democrat-geniusbut-sarah-palins-poll-numbers-are-c.html? Not quite sure how to read that....)
So the media's top 2 Public Enemies, top 2 Idiots, top 2 targets of Irrational Hate, are now virtually just as popular among the American people as their Holiest of Holies, Barack Hussein Obama. And one wonders why the media has been tuned out like some crazy homeless person ranting from a milk crate in a subway...
Seems like Mr. Obama is on the wrong side of the American public on virtually every policy issue:
Voters disapprove 52 - 38 percent of the health care reform proposal under consideration in Congress, and they disapprove 56 - 38 percent of President Obama's handling of health care, down from 53 - 41 percent in a November 19 survey.
And:
....roughly a third of the people who believe in global warming think it is due to natural causes, rather than manmade causes such as industrial emissions. As a result, the number who say that global warming is caused by humans has dropped from 54 percent last summer to 45 percent now.
Well, I am sure that once the government seizes the medical profession, and after Barack Obama gives aways billions in taxpayer dollars at Copenhagen, and after Congress, via the EPA, creates a command and control economy, the president's approval ratings will skyrocket.
Well, that's what the media is telling him, anyway. But if you take the advice of a deranged homeless person, screaming to the emptiness about the unfairness of the universe, well...don't be too surprised at the results...

Back in May I lamented;
By 2012, the Reagan Democrats, and the Angry at Bush Conservatives will be sick of hope-and-change-anomics. But it could be too late.
I think all indications are that this may prove to be true. DO NOT, however, become complacent. If immigration reform (a.k.a open borders for intergalactic health care) or internet voting comes to pass, than it could be too late.
