Semper Fake...

This is like Dukakis in the tank:

Does Mr. Obama believe this will give him stronger national security credentials?

Dude, give it up.....

Oy, what's next? A photo op of Hillary coming to bat for the Metsies against John Smoltz? I could see it now: "I've been a Mets fan all my life!"

Obama looks like a dorkwad there. At least Dubya sported an impressive package when he was photographed in a flight suit on the aircraft carrier.

Just sayin'.

Totally disagree about this being equal to Dukakis. He looked like a moron with his head sticking out of that tank. I can't believe I'm sticking up for the guy... if he was throwing up air balls and double dribbling like an 8 year old who'd rather be playing video games, then maybe it would put him in a bad light... but Obama can actually shoot some hoops.

I don't think the photo op was trying to prove anything, especially concerning national security.

It's not his hoop-shooting ability, but the fact that he put on a USMC shirt to play.

C'mon - has there been anyone less supportive of the Marines than Barack Obama? Well, Murtha I guess, but that's pretty bad company. But then again, that's the company that Obama seems to keep.

I'd be more impressed if he put on a Kos T-shirt or a Code Pink T-Shirt. At least he would be dressing honestly.

If there is anything more "politics as usual" than a pacifist candidate wearing a USMC shirt to a photo-op, I can't think of it.

I'll semi-buy that USMC shirt angle. And damnit, I can't believe I'm defending him again but... he hasn't said he wants to disband the military or anything; he only wants to surrender to al Qaeda in Iraq because he doesn't care about citizens other than Americans. Yes, he'd probably rather redistribute the money that we work hard to earn rather than give enough funding to fight a war outside of our borders... but until he actually says he wants the Marines to not exist anymore, he can wear their shirt. It seems like a bit of a stretch to mock him for it.
