Congressional Democrats turned out to be as gullible as the 53% of Americans who bought into "Hope and Change" back in November 2008. Did these clowns really believe Pelosi when she said "once people saw what was in the bill, they would like it?" Did they really believe Obama when he said passing this horrific bill would help their re-election chances?
Suckers. Let's look at Obama's numbers - the man who jammed this ill-fated reform down America's throat. Shocker: they blow:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 28% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-four percent (44%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16 (see trends).
The President enjoyed a modest bounce in the polls following the passage of health care legislation last week. However, his Approval Index rating is now back to where it was last Sunday, just before the House voted in favor of his health care plan. All the bouncing of the past week has come among Democrats. There has been virtually no change in the opinions of Republicans and unaffiliated voters.
It's the unaffiliated who will make the difference in 2012, just like they did in 2008. And guess what? They're just as pissed about health care reform as the average Republican voter is. Great job, Baracky - you aligned two huge voting blocks against your party for the foreseeable future. Think your Congress is still going to be stumping on reform?
Oh - and by the way - keep on mocking those Tea Partiers. It seems to be working - -NOT!
While many if official Washington consider the Tea Party movement to be a fringe element of society, voters across the nation feel closer to the Tea Party than to Congress.
Maybe you should start hitting those swing states, Baracky, to try to convince these rubes that your poison pill is actually good medicine, that deficits are better than surpluses, and that those Tea Partiers are a bunch of gun-totin', bible-clutching....well, you know.
On the other hand - maybe that's not such a good idea:
Florida voters dislike the new healthcare law so much that President Barack Obama and the state's top Democrat, U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, are paying a hefty political price, according to a new survey and analysis by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research.
Only 34 percent of Florida voters support the new law while 54 percent are against it, according to the poll. Opposition is significantly strong among two crucial blocs: those older than 65 and voters with no party affiliation. Seniors disfavor the bill by a 65-25 percent margin, while independents oppose the law 62-34.
The poll, conducted last week, is the first to be taken in Florida since Obama signed the healthcare reform bill into law.
Yeah, didn't Florida help you over the top in 2008? Are they now idiots, racists, or just FOXZombies?
And yet, the fact that the nation is turning against Obaam and his subordinates in a near fury seems not to trouble him at all. Is it because he ventures out only for pre-scripted rallies, and reads only the most sycophantic MSM reports? Does he believe simply what he is told, that the tea parties are meaningless, and juts made up of racists and other assorted fringe haters?
Or is he aware, and does he just not care? Does he reckon himself a revolutionary - a Castro, a Chavez - one that must complete the vision of the radical vanguard and defend it against the bourgeois middle class, sadly still clamoring for their SUVs, three-bedroom homes, and those laughable things called "rights"?
Hard to say. But whatever world Obama does fancy himself a member of, it is not a representative democracy...
