Stupak is selling his principles for an executive order (tentative draft here) that would forbid federal dollars paying for abortions except in cases where a life is threatened.
How solid is it? Well, an executive order does not have the force of law. And it can be overturned, 15 minutes later, by another executive order.
And the fact that the 40-odd pro-abortion activists who were screaming their heads off last night are suddenly silent ought to tell you everything you need to know about the force of this final deal.
You can bet we'll have socialized medicine by midnight. And you can be assured that taxpayer monies will be paying for elective abortions as well.
May God have mercy on us all...
