Hollywood Elites, Internet Geeks Unite !

...to create an organization that they believe - infused with the power of celebrity and geekiness - will save the world.

Or not:

A website launched Friday with the backing of technology industry and Hollywood elite urges people worldwide to help craft a framework for harmony between all religions.

The Charter for Compassion project springs from a "wish" granted this year to religious scholar Karen Armstrong at a premier Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED) conference in California.
"Tedizens" include Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin along with other Internet icons as well as celebrities such as Forest Whittaker and Cameron Diaz.
Wishes granted at TED envision ways to better the world and come with a promise that Tedizens will lend their clout and capabilities to making them come true.

Armstrong's wish is to combine universal principles of respect and compassion into a charter based on a "golden rule" she believes is at the core of every major religion...
"The chief task of our time is to build a global society where people of all persuasions can live together in peace and harmony," Armstrong said.
"If we do not achieve this, it seems unlikely that we will have a viable world to hand on to the next generation."

Charter for Compassion invites people from "all faiths, nationalities, languages and backgrounds" to help draft statements of principles and actions that should be taken.

Where to I begin with this project of vanity and conceit? OK, how about with this statement:

The only religion in the world that does not live in peace and harmony with their neighbors is Islam.

I don't see Catholics blowing up Jews in Europe - or anywhere else - unless perhaps I am missing something? And who is it that is waging a constant terror war against the peaceful peoples of India? The Zen Buddhists? No, it's the Muslims, of course. The same Muslims that have turned the Middle East, the birthplace of civilization, into a 12th-century hate zone where people of all religions are persecuted and executed - unless, of course, you bow to Islam. The sad truth is , wherever there is a border with a Muslim country, there is chaos, and strife.

So what is the purpose of this celebrity/Google-funded project? To make Islam a more peaceful religion, one able to coexist with its neighbors and be more accepting of differing values? Or to force all the other faiths to compromise their freedoms and beliefs in order to lessen the offense to their Muslim masters?

The conceit, and mental simplicity, on display here is unbelievable. The site actually contains a Council of Sages that is described as a multi-faith, multi-national group of religious thinkers and leaders.

As a Jew, I can only speak to my own people, so let me see whom Forest Whittaker and Larry Page have chosen as my leaders:

Baroness Julia Neuberger DBE became a rabbi in 1977, and served the South London Liberal Synagogue for twelve years....Until recently she chaired the Commission on the Future of Volunteering, is President of Liberal Judaism, and last year was appointed the Prime Minister's Champion for Volunteering.

Rabbi Awraham Soetendorp is currently rabbi of the Reform Jewish Community of The Hague, and rabbi of the Union of Dutch Reform Jewish Communities.

Note both Rabbis are Reform/Liberal - the most left-wing segments of the Jewish faith - and yet they have been appointed by our elite to represent all Jews in this coming together/bowing down ritual. Well, they do not represent me; and I would daresay that the other "sages" annointed by GoogleWood are similarly more representative of extreme segments of their faith, as opposed to the mainstream.

And what the f**k is this "Baroness" sh*t, anyway?

There is a certain Obama-istic feel to all this as well - assuming one big kumbaya with non-elected representatives can solve all the world's problems...

Too bad real life is more complicated than reading lines in a movie script, or internet code-writing. Otherwise these guys would be the masters of the universe that they crave to be, rather than just well-known within their own domains...

Barack Obama: More Owellian than Orwell !

I kid you not:

US president-elect Barack Obama is to make the first YouTube address to the nation on Saturday, recording a talk not just on radio but also on video, a spokesman said Friday.

“No president-elect or president has ever turned the radio address into a multi-media opportunity before,” Shapiro added

"Multi-media"? Will his face be appearing, unasked, on my cellphone when he desires to be heard? Will the visage of The One eminate from the sidewalks and bus shelters when he wants to address his subjects? Will all televisions sets (once again) be filled with his otherworldly glow as he imparts to us the importance of seperating the fools from their monies?

More:

“This is just one of many ways that president-elect Obama will communicate directly with the American people and make the White House and the political process more transparent,” [Shapiro] said...

Dear Leader's face is everywhere in North Korea; does that make their brutal style of communism a "transparent" government? Not to say that Obama and Kim don't have some policies in common, of course....

More Tales of the Surge...

....following up on my original post from earlier today...

How secure is our victory in Iraq? Michael Yon reports to Glenn Reynolds:

"There's nothing going on. I'm with the 10th Mountain Division, and about half of the guys I'm with haven't fired their weapons on this tour and they've been here eight months. And the place we're at, South Baghdad, used to be one of the worst places in Iraq. And now there's nothing going on. I've been walking my feet off and haven't seen anything.

That's called victory in battle. Someone inform the Democrats, especially our new "leadership":

No thanks to the Democrats, including Barack Obama and Joe Biden, who tried to keep it from happening. I see that they still can't bring themselves to utter the word "win" with respect to the war. They continue to talk about "ending" it. Well, it looks like George Bush did that for them, and he won it as well. But winning wars is bad, you see, because it just encourages the warmongers.

And saying we won the war might just hurt the feelings of the thugs, terrorists, and fascists we defeated, not to mention the nations that supported them! So let us follow the lead of Baracky and Joe, and feel shame, great shame in our victory....

Iraq: The Scorecard

Retired Army General and decorated Vietnam War veteran Barry McCaffrey (now teaching at West Point) has just returned from Iraq with the following observations:

McCaffrey—who in March 2007 characterized the US mission there as being in "strategic peril"—says in an "after action report" (.pdf) to his colleagues at West Point that the US military is "now clearly in the end game in Iraq to successfully achieve what should be our principle objectives." Among these, he includes withdrawing US troops within 36 months and leaving behind an Iraq that has a functioning civil state and security force that is not engaged in war, either with itself or any of the country's six neighboring states.

"The bottom line," McCaffrey writes, "is a dramatic and growing momentum for economic and security stability which is unlikely to be reversible. I would not characterize the situation as fragile. It is just beyond the tipping point."

He goes on to list a number of recent successes, click the link to read it all....

But let's take a look at who was right about the surge, and the possibilty of success in Iraq:
George W. Bush
General David Petraeus
John McCain
Robert Gates
The majority of the Republican Congressional delegation

And they were all villified as "ignorant warmongers" for it by the media and by the Democrats.

So who was wrong about the surge? A short list, as we can't be here all day:
Barack Obama
Joe Biden
Hillary Clinton (possibly the worst of the lot)
Harry Reid
Nancy Pelosi
The majority of the Democratic Congressional delegation
The entirety of the news media

And guess who is about to be in charge of our nation, and its miltary, and its foreign policy apparatus? That's right, the same folks who were 100% wrong about the biggest military decision that had to be made since WWII. And most of them either refuse to refute their earlier position - despite the reality of the Iraqi success story - or refuse to apologize for the ugly remarks they made about the strategy (or the persons involved in its planning/implementation) that took America from the jaws of defeat to an almost-certain victory in Iraq.

Don't you feel better now about your new leadership, and the change they will bring?

And while you are mulling that lovely thought over, go read Pejman, as he takes on of those aforementioned media fools here.

The Democrats Reach Across The Partisan Divide...

....with handcuffs!

Now in complete control, some members of Congress wish to kowtow to the demands of the far left and start prosecuting George Bush and various administration officials for crimes against...the far left?

Topics of open investigations include the harsh interrogation of detainees, the prosecution of former Gov. Don Siegelman of Alabama, secret legal memorandums from the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel and the role of the former White House aides Karl Rove and Harriet E. Miers in the firing of federal prosecutors.

The Bush administration overstepped in its exertion of executive privilege, and may very well try to continue to shield information from the American people after it leaves office,” said Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, who sits on two committees, Judiciary and Intelligence, that are examining aspects of Mr. Bush’s policies.

“I intend to ensure that our outstanding subpoenas and document requests relating to the U.S. attorneys matter are enforced,” said Representative John Conyers Jr., Democrat of Michigan and chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. “I am hopeful that progress can be made with the coming of the new administration.”

Also, two advocacy groups, the American Civil Liberties Union and Human Rights First, have prepared detailed reports for the new administration calling for criminal investigations into accusations of abuse of detainees.

Just look at these jokers:
- Conyers is the guy who, as gas was spiking towards $4- a gallon last spring, wanted to tack an additional $0.50/gallon gasoline tax on motorists
-And they said Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, was not qualified enough to be Vice-President? How does this Sheldon Whitehouse, representing a tiny distict in a state that could fit in the palm of my freakin' hand, become qualified to sit in judgement of the man who was twice elected President of the United States?
-The ACLU? Human Rights First? Are these two left-wing interest groups going to dominate policy and procedure under Barack Obama and a Democratic Congress?

Here's what we are in for with this vengeful, twisted, radical Congress of Fools:

...Congressional Democrats say that they are determined to pursue their investigations — and that they expect career officials to disclose other issues after the Bush administration leaves. “We could spend the entire next four years investigating the Bush years,” Mr. Whitehouse said.

One can only hope! Methinks though, it would not get past year two, if you get my drift.

OK, so maybe "Slouching Beast"....

....wasn't the best way to describe the incoming Obama Administration. The term I was subconsciously referencing was "Drooling Beast", and of course it is an Ayn Rand original...

In The Fountainhead (Rand, 1943), the antagonist is an Obama-like figure named Ellsworth Toohey, a charismatic orator who pushes - in code words, always in code words - a socialistic future for America. Not taken seriously by the rich, or fey intelligentsia, due to his smooth speaking style, he is showered with cash and support and rises to power and prominance.

Sound familiar? Rand was soooo prescient...anyway -

Tortured sculptor Steven Mallory see through Toohey, and recognizes what type of ideal he represents, and what type of rule he would impose upon the nation. Mallory uses analogy to describe who Toohey/Obama really are:

"Listen, what's the most horrible experience you can imagine? To me—it's being left, unarmed, in a sealed cell with a drooling beast of prey or a maniac who's had some disease that's eaten his brain out. You'd have nothing then but your voice—your voice and your thought. You'd scream to that creature why it should not touch you, you'd have the most eloquent words, the unanswerable words, you'd become the vessel of the absolute truth.

And you'd see living eyes watching you and you'd know that the thing can't hear you, that it can't be reached, not reached, not in any way, yet it's breathing and moving there before you with a purpose of its own. That's horror.

Well, that's what's hanging over the world, prowling somewhere through mankind, that same thing, something closed, mindless, utterly wanton, but something with an aim and a cunning of its own."

Remember in one of the earlier presidential debates, when Barack Obama was informed by the moderator that his plan to raise capital gains taxes was proven to be a treasury-drainer as opposed to a revenue-gainer? Obama confessed he knew that to be true, yet declared his intention to move forward with it anyway...

Barack Obama and his liberal cadres are that drooling beast, you know...

วันพุธ, พฤศจิกายน 12, 2551

A Slouching Beast Cometh, And It Shall Be Known As....

"....the incoming Barack Obama Administration".

There is nothing - NOTHING - that they will not look to tax as a way to raise revenue from you to fund their pet projects.

The first American liberty to be raped - oh sorry, taxed - into nonexistance will be our freedom of movement around the country:

The Manchester Evening News reports that President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team has contacted Jack Opiola, a transportation principal for the firm Booz, Allen and Hamilton. Opiola the brains behind a program to tax drivers $8 when entering the city of Manchester during peak hours. “I was ‘noticed’ by key people in the Obama campaign and I have been providing input to his strategy team in Chicago, including information about Greater Manchester’s bid,” Opiola said.

Previously, Senator Obama’s most specific transportation proposal was a proposal to create a $60b toll road bank. In March, Obama endorsed New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s scheme to charge a $9 toll on cars and a $22 toll for trucks that enter downtown Manhattan during working hours.

And what about Obama's allegdly beloved middle-class Americans who need to drive into the city to do business, or small delivery businesses who rely on the city for survival, or the small businesses within the city who will now have to eat these rate hikes (not to mention Obama's coming tax hikes on business)? Don't worry, there will be tax credits for all of you! Well, some of you. Well, likely, none of you. Just taxes. Or perhaps fees. Or maybe surcharges.

Anyway - more interest groups are getting into the act and hobnobbing with Obama's transition team, and gosh it all sounds so good:

....the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) last month submitted a detailed $544 billion transportation re-authorization proposal designed to encourage the new administration to shore-up the domestic economy with heavy spending on infrastructure projects.

The new programs would be paid for with massive new tax hikes, including a per-mile driving tax that would begin with “proof of concept” trials as early as 2010. The tax would initially be one cent per mile to generate an estimated $32.4b a year. An extra one cent per gallon in the federal gasoline tax would generate another $1.8b, and a national sales tax on cars of one percent would generate $7.6b.

A per-mile tax to drive. Along with a raise in the federal gasoline tax. And a new "national" sales tax on cars (likely new and used - man, how much fun to be able to tax the same thing over and over!). Plus a "toll fund" of $60 billion, also culled from the pockets of anyone needing to, you know, move about.

How will this help the economy? It won't, unless you are asking "how will it help destroy the economy?" (see how one word can change everything?).

So who benefits? The Slouching Beast, who rifles through our pockets at gunpoint (pay up or go to jail is still the law, right?) and takes what it needs to fulfill its own greedy, self-serving needs, while leaving the rest of us destitute, with the soothing balm of knowing that "it is all for our own good".

This is Barack Obama's change. The Slouching Beast cometh, and we ignore it at our own peril.

Obamanomics !

Social and economic progress via Cabinet-level positions inside of a Democratic-run government? And how many times has that been proven successful, exactly?

Uh huh. About as many times as a nation has taxed istelf into prosperity. Let the lunacy begin! Cue the calliope music please, and send in the dancing leprechuans, as Obama sayeth:

I’ve laid out an ambitious urban poverty plan that will help . . . create public-private business incubators to open up economic opportunity.

Confirmed on NPR:

Obama-Biden Transition Team co-chair Valerie Jarrett said on NPR that Barack Obama will move ahead with his plan to create an “Office of Urban Policy.”

Abe Greenwald responds:

Public-private business incubators? No thanks. We already know what that hatches. The coming Obama years sound more and more like a mad socioeconomic experiment with each passing day. Spread the wealth, bail everyone out, and incubate a state-citizen hybrid. The funny thing about “Yes we can” is that Obama doesn’t seem to think Americans can do much of anything - at least not without his help.

That's right! We are all worthless and weak, unable to do anything for ourselves. We need the government to do it for us, just like they do in the bustling, dynamic continent of Europe! If only the government did a better job of handling our own individual responsibilites, why, Obama's illegal Auntie would never have been found living in a filthy Boston slum!

Incidentally, has anyone noticed that Obama and his cadres preach the exact opposite of what was once considered the American ideal - that of freedom from government intrusion (freedoms which Obama refers to as "negative liberties") individualism, enterprenurialism, and the right to find one's own personal "pursuit of happiness?"

What will Obama turn us - the most successful nation in the history of the world -into?

Change of fools....

So 78% of the Jews vote for Obama....

....and boy, did they get exactly what they paid for - an administration that is staunchly anti-Israel:

Last December, when the Obama campaign put out a press release listing Robert Malley as a campaign advisor, there was a small uproar. Though Malley had worked on Middle East issues for the Clinton campaign, he was viewed with a great deal of suspicion by the Jewish community — Malley's father, journalist Simon Malley, was a friend of Arafat's and generally seen as a PLO sympathizer.

Well, after he left the Clinton administration he wrote a series of essays for the New York Review of Books that were widely viewed as anti-Israel. Marty Peretz called Malley "deceitful" and said he is "a rabid hater of Israel. No question about it."

After it became known Malley was working on the campaign and the ensuing backlash, the Obama campaign immediately issued a statement saying Malley was only giving the campaign "informal advice."

Then in May, the London Times reported that Malley — who wasn't supposed to be working on the campaign — had been sacked from a post on the campaign's Middle East advisory council because he had recently held meetings with Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

...now sources are reporting "Aides said Obama had sent senior foreign policy adviser Robert Malley to Egypt and Syria over the last few weeks to outline the Democratic candidate's policy on the Middle East."

So:

-Obama has kept an well-known anti-Israeli advisor on staff for the better part of a year now, and has lied about it throughout.
-Obama, now as president-elect, has made this "hater" a "senior foreign policy advisor" and has sent him off to Egypt and Syria. Not yet Israel, as far as I can see.
-Obama consistantly told Jewish groups he would be a staunch supporter of Israel, yet has been selling them out to Arab interests from day one of his campaign.

Geez...what the f**k do you expect from a guy who spent 20 years in the pews of an anti-Semitic church? From a guy who can't wait to talk with terrorists, with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?

This is what happens, incidentally, when a group is taken (rightfully) for granted by a political party. Said partywill pay them some lip service, and propmtly screw them the first time it is expedient, knowing the suckers will always come back for more.

Trust me, my fellow Yids...this is going to get way, way worse before it gets better...

UPDATE: More on Malley here - video, in fact ...watch Obama's Man in the Middle East at the June 2007 American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee Conference in Washington DC, sharing the stage with radical anti-Israel academic Sarah Roy and Palestinian diplomat Alif Safieh:

“I think most of us in this room know what a solution would look like if there is going to be a viable and fair solution, we could get into the details, but I don’t think that’s a mystery anymore ...”

Barbra Streisand: She's Ugly, But She's Crazy...

Someone has a hard time discerning between reality and play-acting:

Bleeding-heart liberal Barbra Streisand is such a rabid hater of President Bush that she freaked out when stepson Josh Brolin told her he’d accepted Oliver Stone’s offer to star in “W.” as the commander in chief. “She said: ‘How much are you getting paid?’ I told her it was a very low fee. She said, ‘Then why are you doing it?’ ” Brolin tells The Times of London. “She was furious and would not talk to me...

A disturbed woman, indeed. Does she also shun anyone who played Nazis in "Shindler's List"?

A Diet of "Hope"...

....will not fill the bellies of the hungry, spiritually or materially.

Christopher Hitchens (who I don't appreciate much) makes more than a few valid points in Slate:

Those who think that they have just voted to legalize Utopia (and I hardly exaggerate when I say this; have you been reading the moist and trusting comments of our commentariat?) are preparing for a disillusionment that I very much doubt they will blame on themselves. The national Treasury is an echoing, empty vault; our Russian and Iranian enemies are acting even more wolfishly even as they sense a repudiation of Bush-Cheney; the lines of jobless and evicted are going to lengthen, and I don't think a diet of hope is going to cover it. Nor even a diet of audacity.....

More worrying still, there are vicious enemies and rogue states in increasing positions of influence throughout the world...yet many Obama voters appear to believe that the mere charm and aspect of their new president will act as an emollient influence on these unwelcome facts and these hostile forces.

And what happens to the leader who - after gaining office by promising that by mere rhetoric he can achieve what others, by tireless labor, have been unable to - fails to deliver the goods to his starving populace?

Violent overthrow, in some nations, loss of elected office with due prejudice in American politics. Obama, beware of your promises, for you have convinced 52% of the American people that they have a hole in their hearts - and stomachs, and wallets - that only you can fill. Should the desires -and new entitlements, and hitero-unknown needs - that you created remain unfulfilled, I don't think even your fawning media circle will be able to save you or your party...

Steve Lipski - Dude, Urine Trouble!

(original post here)

Man, the headlines for this story just seem to write themselves:

Jersey Pol Pisses Off DC

Jersey City Councilman Steve Lipski likes to pee from high places
( Steven Lipski apparently likes a drink, but its what he did while drunk Friday that has exposed him to a wider audience...)

After Peeing on Hippies, Jersey City Pol Goes on Wagon
(...he still insists it wasn't a golden shower of unlimited devotion but simply an accidentally spilled beer. Employees at the D.C. club disagree and maintain they spotted Lipski in the act of micturition...)

I'll quit booze, sez pol in wee bit of trouble

Will sobering up be the best thing for him? I mean, really, I've always thought that New Jersey politicians had to be half in the bag to believe the things they said, or to do the things they do. Lipski's newfound sobriety may make his gig as Jersey City Councilman just a bit too much to stomach. Unless, of course, he simply turns to drugs. He didn't say anything about quitting drugs, right?

He's still got a chance, then....

The New Jersey Turnout Suprise...

The Asbury Park Press seemed unsure how to report this odd bit of news:

Early totals show nearly 3.7 million people cast ballots in last Tuesday's election, prompting officials to herald the record-breaking number and Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells to call turnout "extraordinary."

However, there were also a record 5.4 million people registered to vote. So although the sheer number of people voting was the most ever, turnout accounted for slightly less than 68 percent of registered voters, according to initial estimates — lower than any presidential election in New Jersey since 1920, and possibly the lowest ever.

While 5.4 million people may have RSVP'd, not nearly as many as in past years showed up for the party....

Hmmm..how many of these "registered voters", I wonder, came courtesy of ACORN and thier ilk working their registration magic in New Jersey? A clue comes here, from this otherwise hysterically inaccurate report (based on the APP's reporting) from WCBS-TV:

Lines of voters have replaced the usual apathy seen at New Jersey polls in off-year elections as voters elect a president...
Voter records are already being broken in the Garden State. The secretary of state says there are 631,512 newly registered voters. That sets a record of more than 5.4 million who can vote.

The secretary of state says voter turnout could exceed 80 percent..

OK, so let's assume we have close to 600,ooo fraudulant registrations here (that would be giving ACORN the benefit of the doubt, actually), giving us 4.8 million registered voters. That changes the turnout rate to around 74%, which while still below current levels is not as embarrassing ("3 out of 4 ain't bad", to paraphrase Meat Loaf).

What else might have dampened turnout? For yet another clue, let's turn to a Rutgers think-tank (?) director, who enlightens us with her ignorance:

Ingrid Reed, director of the Eagleton Institute for New Jersey Politics at Rutgers University, said voters thinking President-elect Barack Obama would win the state in a landslide could have led to low turnout, as well as limited interest in the U.S. Senate race and expectations of long lines at the polls.

"When the vote isn't that close, there's no buzz or excitement," Reed said. "... You never get a chance to feel like you're a part of an election. It's like it was rigged against them to participate."

Rigged against whom - potential Demcoratic voters who didn't want to participate in what the media was calling the life-changing, life-affirming event of a millenium?

Or Republican voters who, despite casting 45% of the state's votes to the right in most statewide/national elections, get virtually 0% representation of their viewpoints in Washington? Knowing this state will be called Blue about five seconds after the polls close can certainly make these citizens feel, as Reed says, " ...like it was rigged against them to participate."

But of course, I don't think that is really what Reed was trying to say...

Anyway, low turnout explained.
But the voters willing to continually turn this state over to same people that are destroying it? Ah, still an unsolved mystery, that...

Class, Jersey-Style!

We often talk in analogies about politicians "spitting on", or "pissing on", the electorate, but it takes a Jersey Pol to have the smarts to put it into actual practice:

A drunken Jersey City councilman was arrested for urinating on a crowd of concertgoers from the balcony of a Washington nightclub, police and club sources said Saturday.

Councilman Steven Lipski was caught relieving himself onto several revelers at the 9:30 Club during a concert by a Grateful Dead tribute band Friday night, club sources said.
"He was very drunk," the source said, noting that it wasn't the first time Lipski had caused a ruckus at the popular concert venue.

We've dealt with this man before," the source added. "He's never peed on anybody, but he gets really belligerent and drunk."

The story doesn't list Lipski's party affiliation, which usually means that the offender is a Democrat. Lipski is a challenging case; I could find little mention of his party affiliation anywhere, except for his mention here as an opportunistic Democratic switchee, and the obvious fact that he is an elected official in a overwhelmingly Democratic city in a blue state.

This might shine some light as well; Mr. Lipski appeared at a certain dinner party in Washington to see a certain Democrat and watch a certain band just after the November 2006 elections:

Nancy Pelosi’s dinner party at the National Building Museum in Washington D.C....The facts are that the “House Band” consisted of Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, Bruce Hornsby, Mickey Hart, Mike Gordon and Warren Haynes.

Several city council people from various cities were there. Jersey City Councilman Steve Lipski told the Washington Post "I am here to witness history in the making, the first woman speaker of the House, and to see members of the Grateful Dead perform.”

Can you find Steven Lipski in this photograph? He was there....

When you find a Republican that goes to Nancy Pelosi's parties, and apparently travels nationwide to watch Dead cover bands and psuedo-Dead reunions, while urinating on the commoners, let me know. In the meanwhile, we'll safely assume that Mr. Lipski is a proud Democrat, as well as an embarrassment to the state of New Jersey.

But hey - he only acted out in reality what New Jersey Democrats do to us every day, legislatively...maybe he deserves some type of "Honesty in Government" award...?

UPDATE: His Democrat-ness has been confirmed, thanks to the comment section:
Yes, I am a Democrat, but I have always put people before politics...

Insert your own urination joke here...

CNN Slides Into The Abyss...

Yeah, I know, they have already fallen in, but even the deepest, darkest crevice has its points where one can still drop even further...

CNN sells Obama victory t-shirts on it's main web site, with the CNN logo on the shirt..... The bias is so deep and so ingrained that they can't even imagine that selling political t-shirts celebrating the victory of a specific candidate might not be perceived as... how should I put this? FAIR AND BALANCED.

But I'm sure, with the election of the McCain/Palin ticket, CNN would have put out the very same "historic victory" t-shirt with their logo, right? After all, first female Vice-President and all that....?

Right? Or am I missing something here?

Why Didn't The Media Dig Into Obama?

A question asked by most conservatives, and by a majority of independents as well...Doug Ross puts together all the pieces, and makes it pretty easy to understand:

...there appears to be only a turnstile between a Democratic administration and a cushy media job. Perhaps that explains the disconnect. After all, career and spousal advancement come before integrity.

He has a great list of who's married to what media person/which political party. A few examples:

Chris Matthews hosts MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews and served as a speechwriter for Jimmy Carter.

David Gergen is a political analyst for CNN and served as a special adviser to President Clinton.

NBC's David Gregory is married to Beth Wilkinson, a partner at Latham & Watkins in Washington and a former official in the Justice Department during the Clinton administration.

But what about journalistic integrity?

Hey, they've got two BMWs to pay for! And private school tuition, b***hes!

And that's why we get a serving of bullsh*t along with the evening news...

"The Obama Effect"

What's the problem? We've finally done what the world has asked of us, and elected an ultra-liberal pacifist to the highest office in the land. I would have thought the rest of the planet would have lifted us on their shoulders and carried us 'round the globe to accolades and huzzahs....

Yet - the already tenuous financial situation got worse, with the Dows hitting all-time post-election lows.

And - for some reason - they seem to be sweating a bit out in Europe, too. What gives? Oh, this:

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev announced Wednesday that Moscow would deploy missiles in its western outpost of Kaliningrad in response to U.S. plans to station an anti-missile defence shield in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Ruh-oh. In response, Europe fires off the strongest weapon in their arsenal - a strongly worded statement!

"The presidency of the European Union council expresses its strong concern after the announcement by President Medvedev ... of the deployment of a complex of Iskander missiles in Kaliningrad," the presidency said in a statement.

"This announcement does not contribute to the establishment of a climate of trust and to the improvement of security in Europe, at a time when we wish for a dialogue with Russia on questions of security in the whole of the continent," it said.

Poland has no fear, of course (hey, these are the guys that charged horses into Panzer tanks in 1939), but then again they are the rebels of the EU anyway:

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said Medvedev's move vindicated Warsaw's plan to station U.S. Patriot missiles on its soil, a deployment it persuaded Washington to make in return for its agreement to host part of the shield system.

Medvedev's plan "just shows that our decision to protect our air space with U.S. help is a correct one," Sikorski told the Polish parliament.

Now Europe turns its lonely eyes to America and finds...Baracky and the Dems, looking to smooth over such little kerfluffles by appeasing tyrannical autocrats so they can get back to cutting defense spending to pay for their nanny-state social programs (hey, just like Europe!).

Europe needed us more then they ever wanted to admit. Now that they have the American government that they have always claimed that they wanted, Europe may be forced to confess that they always loved us just the way we were - capitalistic, aggressive, unilateral - and all that complaining was just good-natured grumpiness.

Well, too late, I'd reckon. You allowed the Left to sell the story that we were unloved overseas in the hope of getting a more pliable American government. Well, it worked, but a pliable leadership can be swayed by more than one influence....

Well, Europe got what they wished for. Again I will say - why do I believe there will be a great longing for George W. Bush within all of , say...six months?

You Stay Classy, Baracky...

Way to show good grace, by making fun of a 90 year old ex-First Lady in your first news conference:

WASHINGTON -- In his preparation to become president, Barack Obama said Friday that he has had discussions with all former presidents - or almost all of them.

"I've spoken to all of them that are living," the president-elect said in a lighter moment during his first press conference since his victory.

"I didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about, you know, doing any seances," he joked.

Maybe he meant to bash Hillary Clinton?

It actually wasn't Nancy Reagan who was linked to conversations with the dead; it was Obama's top Democratic challenger for the presidency, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y.

Nancy Reagan consulted an astrologer to help set her husband's schedule, wrote former White House chief of staff Donald T. Regan. The revelation created a furor and President Reagan even broke with his policy of not commenting on books by former White House staffers. "No policy or decision in my mind has ever been influenced by astrology," Reagan said.

In his book "The Choice," Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward described how Clinton consulted with a spiritual adviser who led her through imaginary conversations with her personal hero, Eleanor Roosevelt. Newsweek magazine, which was promoting the book, characterized the visits as "seances" ....

What is it with Obama and woman? Is "The One" a closeted misogynist, perhaps? Or is it something he just picked up at Reverand Wright's weekly hatred-filled revival services?

May your wife, the American-lovin' Michelle Obama, recieve the same treatment that you seem to enjoy inflicting upon women...

From 52 to 48...

...with love?

Yeah, the sentiment is nice, but there's something underlying that's kind of ugly.

For eight years, these same "sweet" people were absolutely horrid to President Bush and the Republicans. Every hateful slur, every twisted lie, every extreme comparison that could be thown out against the right - and our soldiers, and American as a whole - was done so, with glee.

And they defended themselves by telling us that their dissent was actually the highest form of patriotism.

And now that the Left has complete control of all three branches of govenrment, all of a sudden they seem to be realizing that they don't want to be treated the same way they treated the Republicans when the right held sway.

Like spoiled children who, after finally gettting their way after an eight-year temper tantrum, smile and want to play nice...

And it's starting to seems as if they were quite aware of all thier ugliness and lies all this time, and now that it has served them, are willing to admit the truth:

Would America have elected Barack Obama if white Americans had not gotten accustomed to seeing (in succession) two African-American Secretaries of State? I don't think so. Before Bush, African-Americans were appointed to some good posts but not to our #1 foreign policy job. Two African Americans (one with a pretty odd first name) served as America's face to the world. That eased Obama's way. It is not Tiger Woods in whose footsteps Obama is walking -- it's Rice and Powell.

Fact is, "W" never gave any evidence of holding racist attitudes.
I'm talking about old fashioned racism -- or even just the slur the occasionally slips out of the mouth of even our most liberal leaders...

Same with Arabs and Muslims....Bush, after 9/11, never resorted to anti-Arab or Muslim stereotypes....He was the first President to celebrate Muslim holy days, both at the White House and in a Mosque...

So I guess it is OK to lie, cheat, and behave miserably in order to achieve your desired end? And now that your have reached said end, you now realize that the same tactics may be used against you, correct? So perhaps, if you just make that 52-48 site, you can avert the blowback?

Ironic. Now I understand what is meant when it is said that criminals tend to keep the most locks on their doors....

Hey, conservatives in general tend to play a lot more gentlemanly than the Left - that should be obvious. But if you guys think you are gonna get anything resembling a free ride, well...that Obama dust you're snorting doesn't work on conservatives...

Revenge, Thy Name is Bush !

Sure, conservatives complain all the time about the liberal media, while whining away that they are powerless to do anything about it.

As usual, George W. Bush is the only man that can get things done in this here country:

It seems President George W. Bush's dog Barney wasn't much in the mood for friendly attention during his walk outside the White House on Thursday.

So when Reuters reporter Jon Decker reached down to pet the Scottish terrier, the seemingly docile dog snapped at him and bit Decker's right index finger.

Reuters, no less! C'mon, the dog knew exactly what he was doing - he's like Maggie Simpson, "accidentally" blasting Old Man Burns full of lead...

Man, I think in about, say , six-odd months from now - we are really going to start to miss W....
