Hanukkah Honey On The Eighth Night: A Tribute To The Girls of the IDF

(note: looking back at last year's tribute, I didn't want to change a word, just the pictures. So it may sound familiar, but likely will not look (too) familiar...)

They'll kill you with a smile, or they'll just...kill you. But a society where every young girl spends two years serving their country with a huge automatic weapon is a society that will never go down without a fight, no matter how much Barack Obama pleads with them to do so.

No Israeli supermodels, or actresses, or entertainers on the last night of Hanukkah.....Instead, I present your everyday Israeli female, beautifully attired in standard military fatigues, and all of them armed to the motherlovin' teeth:

(Dana is an instructer in the fine female art of long-range sniping, BTW...)

No, darling, we salute you, for the work you have done in keeping the only true democracy in the godforsaken Middle East safe, and for allowing Jews worldwide to have a place, should they ever have the need, to call home. The 8th night of Hanukkah is all about you. We honor and thank you for your service in the name of freedom, and we admire you for still looking stunningly, achingly
beautiful while doing it.

May God bless you, and keep you.

Happy Hanukkah....

New York Times Advises Democrats To Bend Over And Take it From Terrorist Republicans

Like any insane person, the New York Times editorial page can have a moment of lucidity. Alas, it is always but a moment, as the insanity tends to creep back in just when you were starting to appreciate hearing something other than the babbling of a madman...

Today's editorial, on the Obama/Republican tax-cut deal:

...the Democrats should vote for this deal, because it is the only one they are going to get. Mr. Obama made that case — strongly — on Tuesday, summoning an eloquence that is often elusive, as it was on Monday when he first announced the deal. Without this bargain, income taxes on the middle class would rise. Unemployment insurance for millions of Americans would expire. And many other important tax breaks for low- and middle-income workers — including a 2 percent payroll tax cut and college tuition credits — would not be possible.

If angry Democrats blow up the deal, they will be left vainly groping for something better in a new Congress where they will have far less influence than they have now. The middle class and the unemployed would be seriously hurt.

The president, and particularly Congressional Democrats, might not be in this bind if they had fought harder against the high-end tax cuts before the midterm elections. But that moment has passed.

President Obama was right to use the metaphor of hostage-taking to describe the Republicans’ tactics...

Well, the Times is right about one thing - for the Democrats (not the American people), this deal sucks, but they ain't gonna get a better one. And left unspoken is that if they do hold out, and the president refuses to sign a bill presented by the new Congress that is decidedly more conservative, it will be the president and his party that will be viewed as hostage-takers - as well as thief's, liars, con-men, and fools...

But back to he madness. Mr. Obama made that case — strongly — on Tuesday, summoning an eloquence that is often elusive...

Really? Jennifer Rubin, channelling her inner Comic Book Guy, called it
The Worst Press Conference Ever. Over at Instapundit, the agreement is legion. John Podhoretz labeled it as one of the most bizarre political events of my lifetime....

And The Times calls it an elusive eloquence....well, I suppose it takes a madman to understand one, but encouraging the paranoid in their delusional fantasies is not considered wise counsel. (I'm not just talking about the president here, I'm talking about his few remaining True Believers as well). Nor is it especially "enlightened" to encourage an American(?) president to call his political opponents hostage taking bomb throwers.

Unless, of course, you take it in stride when your champion is called by the same names. Which will happen, surely as pride goeth before a fall. Let's see how enamored the Times is of the rhetoric it encourages when it is directed at their side...

The 7th Night of Hanukkah Honey Brings Us...Freckles of Fire!

They don't call it the Promised Land for nothing, folks....out of Tel Aviv, the 25 year old Amit Freidman is a hot slice of Hanukkah Honey, a beautiful Israeli model with freckles of fire (and who knew there were so many website devoted to this particular, ah...taste in women?) and legs longer than a rabbi's memory.

Amit's freckles are not the only thing golden about her, as she is best known in Israel for her work with Ami's Angels,a NGO non- profit public charity organization, dedicated to improving the lives of people with severe disabilities using the power of technology.

And she knows how to have fun, too:

She also loves surfing. In fact, the first thing she does every morning is to check the weather and the surf condition online. If she finds that the waves are good, she immediately makes her way to Tel-Aviv beach which is 10 minutes away from where she is living.

Nice.

Well, before we melt all of our candle wax prematurely, let's take a look at Amit Friedman, our penultimate Hanukkah Honey:

Egypt Blames Jewish Sharks In Red Sea Attacks

No, folks, there will never, ever, be peace in the Middle East - not when every single event that reflects negatively on the Arabs is attributed to the malfeasance of Israel.

You can hear a lifetime of propaganda, spend your days and nights listening to North Korean/Palestinian/Iranian/Russian/Venezuelan radio, and still never again here anything as insanely stupid as this:

Egyptian officials say they have not ruled out the possibility that a fatal shark attack in Sinai on Sunday could have been a plot by the Mossad.

“What is being said about the Mossad throwing the deadly shark [in the sea] to hit tourism in Egypt is not out of the question, but it needs time to confirm,” South Sinai Gov. Muhammad Abdel Fadil Shousha was quoted as saying by the Egyptian state news site egynews.net.

Israeli officials said the claims were too ludicrous to comment on. Israel has issued an advisory warning against travel to Sinai due to plots against Israelis by terrorist groups linked to al-Qaida.

The fatal shark attack in the Red Sea off the coast of the resort town of Sharm e-Sheikh killed a German tourist, just days after four Russians were mauled by sharks and Egypt declared that the waters were safe.

Experts said that despite announcements that Egypt had caught the shark, the one actually responsible for the maulings was still on the loose.

What next? "Egyptian officials blame last night's unusually heavy rainstorm on thousands of expert long-distance-spitting Jews lined up at the border. Trained by the Mossad, their foul spittle was the primary cause of the flooding in major cities yesterday, not an antiquated drainage system as dissidents - paid for by the Jews - have been charging..."

You have to laugh. Until you realize that this nonsense keeps a perilous portion of the world in a constant state of open warfare....

Did You Buy GM Stock? If So, Consider Yourself Pwn'd !

Written on November 18th as the GM IPO was first issued, with breathless excitement by the government and the media:

...have you ever seen the media cheerleading a stock that has actually been a money-maker, or indicative of a strong company/sector? Yeah, me neither. They're all johnny-come-latelys that use other people's money to buy high, and sell low.

Stay away from this POS IPO. And hold on tight to your wallet...

Today,
Mickey Kaus informs us we've been pwn'd:

Greetings, IPO Suckers! General Motors' cars are piling up on dealers' lots again, the result of an apparent production surge designed to force sales during September and October in order to make the numbers look good for GM's November IPO ... sorry, I mean in order to maximize shareholder value! ... P.S.: General Motors is actually down 0.8 in market share from last November, which was hardly a great month in itself. The company's press release boasts of a market-share gain because it only counts the brands GM hasn't discontinued or sold off. Well, all right then! ...

Here's the nuts and bolts of the scam, as perpetrated by GM - with the help of the U.S. Government - upon the American people:

It is obvious that beginning in July, GM has started an aggressive channel stuffing program whereby it offload tens of thousands of cars (over 110,000 since July) on dealer lots, hoping these will get sold somehow, at some price, all the while dealers enjoy taxpayer subsidized floorplan leases which allows them to hold nearly infinite inventory. If and when the liquidation event takes place who cares? After all the company is now public and has managed to massage it artificial sales numbers sufficiently to fool investors that there is actual end demand for its cars.

So what would have happened if in October GM had held its dealer inventory flat (not declining, just flat): well, the top line number would have been 21,000 cars less sold. Which also means that total sales would have been not 169k but 148k, and instead of a 11.4% increase, GM would have reported a drop of 2.4% in November sales YoY (year to year)....

Now if Wall Street perpetrated this fraud, the entire force of Eric Holder's office would have been called upon to frog-march out the looters and liars involved, and show trials would have been the order of the day.

But since the government is in on the scam, and taking a cut, well....then it's OK, I suppose, to screw the middle-class investor who is allegedly so near and dear to the Democrat's hearts...or perhaps it is that small reservoir of cash the middle class tends to clutch onto that makes them such an attractive mark...

What did I say about holding on tight to your wallet?
The government, under the auspices of the Left, are as shifty as the transient carnies that come into town every spring with the town fair...

Hanukkah Honeys: Is The 6th Candle Too Hot To Handle?

Well, our last few nights of "Hanukkah Honeys" have featured the Jewish girl played against type: the "bad" girl. Sure, they rock out, kiss other girls, and pilfer a few items from the local department store, but that's about as far out as a Hanukkah Honey will get, right?

Well, ah...hmmm....let me introduce you to the sixth Hanukkah Honey, Miss Kendra Jade (Rossi). Kendra has made some 45 films, all of the adult variety. She bolted "the business" in 2001, and began touring throughout the country as the featured burlesque performer in gentleman's clubs. Kenda has appeared in music videos, radio (most famously on Howard Stern), print, and television (to be cured of her "sex addiction" by Dr. Drew Pinsky).

Kendra, earlier engaged to a nice Jewish boy, went off and married Canadian rocker Luke Rossi. A loss for every Jewish guy who wanted to bring her home and present their mother with the ultimate conundrum: A son staying within the faith, but not with the kind of girl you'd necessarily want to introduce to the rabbi. Oh, what to do, what to do...

Well, we'd know what we're going to do: Watch the sixth candle burn all the way down....

(More Hanukkah Honeys: Night 1, Night 2, Night3, Night 4, Night 5.....)

Elizabeth Edwards Says Goodbye

She deserved better. CBS reports:

Elizabeth Edwards, the estranged wife of former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, is resting at home with friends and family after doctors advised that "further treatment of her cancer would be unproductive," according to a statement from the Edwards family.

A source close to the family tells CBS News, "She is dying." The source said Edwards would likely die within weeks and possibly days.

Not sure if her husband is there, or with his girlfriend Rielle Hunter and their love child out on the West Coast.

But the dying will oft forgive all, seeing the Great Beyond over the horizon and perhaps glimpsing some truths that are hidden from those of us on this plane of existence. And so it appears Elizabeth has done so, based on a message posted on her Facebook page that seems to be a farewell to this mortal coil:

You all know that I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces -- my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope. These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined. The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that. And yes, there are certainly times when we aren't able to muster as much strength and patience as we would like. It's called being human. But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful. It isn't possible to put into words the love and gratitude I feel towards everyone who has and continues to support and inspire me every day. To you I simply say: you know.

Sorry, Elizabeth.

Julian Assange: An Egomanical Madman?

Spanish daily El Pais has an interview with WikiLeaker Julian Assange conducted over the weekend from his underground fortress, or secret hideout, or evil lair - well, wherever the guy is hiding out at.

The discussion was short, as one might expect with the world's Most Wanted man (why do I think Osama bin Ladin, if contacted, would give more than five minutes to the media), but shocking in its revelation of Assange as an hard-left ego-maniac, delusional about his own power and his place in history. Some excerpts:

We have hundreds of specific death threats from US military militants. That is not unusual, and we have become practiced from past experiences at ignoring such threats from Islamic extremists, African kleptocrats and so on.

The comparison to third-world thugs, and use of the word "militants", is intentional, of course...

...If there is a battle between the US military and the preservation of History, we have insured, History will win.

Julian assumes that history will paint him as a hero. Not big with nuance, this guy....

This exchange is classic:

Q. Is this the biggest leak ever? Or the most relevant? Or was it Ellsberg?s with the Pentagon papers?

A. This is the biggest, at over 265 million words and the most relevant - it covers every serious issue in every country-. It is more significant than the Pentagon Papers.

Q. What will be the consequences of this megaleak?

A. It is too early to say yet. The ripples are just starting to flow throughout the world. But I believe geopolitics will be separated into pre and post cablegate phases.

The world will be divided into the pre-Assange and post-Assange world. Didn't they say that about Barack Obama as well? And yet, they still may be right, but not in the way they originally intended.

And finally, here's a case where Julian Assange and I agree, regarding the ordering of U.S. diplomats (by Hillary Clinton)to spy on their foreign contemporaries:

...The whole chain of command who was aware of this order, and approved it, must resign if the US is to be seen to be a credible nation that obeys the rule of law. The order is so serious it may well have been put to the president for approval.

...Obama must answer what he knew about this illegal order and when. If he refuses to answer or there is evidence he approved of these actions, he must resign

He's right, but for the wrong reason. Assange wants Obama out primarily to claim victory for himself - he is greater than an American president! - but also because he believes it would hurt the United States to be shorn of its current leader. I, of course, feel an Obama resignation would be the greatest Christmas gift WikiLeaks could ever give America. As I said this morning, many who do evil...wind up serving The Good in way they never could have expected...

(Although, on a side note, who would win a battle between Barack Obama - Lord Narcissus himself - and Assange, Destroyer of Empires? Or is battle to big a word for two men who would likely bitch-slap each other before agreeing that the United States is the root of the world's evil?)

It's all about Julian Assange, from his belief that he has created a new world history to his blackmail against nations who may yet thwart his effort to destroy America. He's Bin Ladin with a laptop as opposed to an airplane, though Bin Ladin at least showed deference before his perverted vision of God.

Assange shows none, since he is The One. Let all fall before him....

If You Wondered If WikiLeaks and Assange Are Enemies of America...

...one needs to look no further than a few stories that have broken overnight to see proof of the sheer malice of Julian Assange's organization towards the United States.

From the New York Post:

WikiLeaks yesterday published a secret State Department cable that lists hundreds of overseas factories and infrastructure sites vital to the United States -- a revelation that security experts called a gift to terrorists.

Specific pipeline, mine, undersea-cable and factory locations are spelled out in the February 2009 "critical foreign dependencies" memo signed by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

It says that if any of the sites were to be "destroyed, disrupted or exploited," there would be "an immediate and deleterious effect on the United States."

....Meanwhile, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has threatened that if his activities are curtailed, he has another dirty trick up his sleeve.

He said he would release passwords necessary to access already circulated but encrypted files that contain a slew of unredacted and uncensored documents embarrassing to governments and corporations, The Sunday Times of London said.

Assange described the documents -- which include, among other things, information on the Guantanamo Bay prison and BP Oil -- as his "insurance" against arrest or cyber shutdown.

Releasing vital strategic points in America's infrastructure, while threatening to reveal more if anyone gets in his way, is extortion. When the national security of an entire nation is the object of said extortion, the crime is called terrorism. Just an FYI...

And like al-Qaeda, WikiLeaks taunts the United States with evidence of their so-called "failures":

Not content with just harming American diplomatic efforts through its massive leak of diplomatic cables, WikiLeaks is now actively taunting the United States.

“Sarah Palin says Julian [Assange] should be hunted down like Osama bin Laden–so he should be safe for at least a decade,” tweeted WikiLeaks on Sunday night, rubbing in the fact that over 9 years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks the United States has been unable to capture or kill al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

And here's the "third strike" against WikiLeaks, if you needed any additional evidence of their hostility towards America - they are actively colluding with "major news organizations" in the timing and subject matter of their document dumps:

"According to the AP (through Google News), WikiLeaks isn't just sitting on the recent material so they can release it bit by bit to the press, as many people implied. On the contrary, it's quite the other way around: 'only after considering advice from five news organizations with which it chose to share all of the material' are they releasing it themselves. These newspapers 'have been advising WikiLeaks on which documents to release publicly and what redactions to make to those documents.'

AP questions whether WikiLeaks will follow these redactions, but nevertheless seems quite impressed by this 'extraordinary collaboration between some of the world's most respected media outlets and the WikiLeaks organization.'

Extraordinary, indeed. There used to be a time when the media reminded us that "Loose lips sink ships". Now they actively cooperate with our nation's enemies, and fall over each other in a race to provide this damaging information to those who would use it with ill intent.

And while I am slowly coming around to the argument (that I first resisted) that there should be a Predator missile with Assange's name on it, I am not yet wholly convinced. While the WikiLeaks information dumps have no doubt done damage to our national security, they have also exposed to America, and the world, the folly of Obama, the lies of liberalism, the malice of our adversaries, and the incompetence of the current political class, all beyond any repudiation.

Perhaps Julian Assange - like many who do evil - wind up serving The Good in way they never could have expected...

Hanukkah Honey #5: Oh, Winona...

Achingly beautiful, in a way that makes you want to hold her tight and tell her it's OK..., Winona Ryder was born Winona Laura Horowitz. Need I say more?

She's had her (minor) troubles with the law, and she tends to fall for bad-boy rockers (a list including Soul Asylum’s Dave Pirner, Beck, Pete Yorn, Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes, Jack White of the White Stripes, Baltimore native Adam Duritz of Counting Crows and the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl), but as is the case with Gina Gershon, our Hanukkah Honeys can break the stereotype of the "nice Jewish girl" while still breaking our hearts. All while knowing how to do a break-up, Heathers-style:

Veronica Sawyer: You know what I want?
[shoots J.D]
Veronica Sawyer
: Cool guys like you out of my life...

Tell it to Johnny Depp and the boys above, while we light the fifth candle in your honor, Miss Winona Horowitz:

(The first four Honeys of Hanukkah can still be seen burning here, here, and here...and here)

"...and then we play Dreidel, by the candelight...."

From The Maccabeats, an a capella group out of Yeshiva University, comes the best telling of the story of Hanukkah, and our celebration of it - sung to the beat of Taio Cruz's "Dynamite", of course...but retitled "Candlelight":

From the comments on YouTube:

"They tried to kill us. We won. Let's eat."

That's what every Jewish festival comes down to, in essence. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Chag sameach, chaverim....

Hanukkah Hottie: The 4th Night Is All About This Gal (Gadot)

How about going to Israel for the 4th night of Hanukkah, and spending it with this gal, Gal Gadot, Israeli supermodel and actress?

A former Miss Israel (2004, and by the way, when you consider how hot Israeli women are, winning that tiara is quite the feat) and co-star in Fast & Furious IV and V (to be released shortly), Gadot is also known for taking part in a racy photo spread in Maxim magazine dedicated to the women of the IDF.

Yummy. Like a latke....so take a bite of this Gal:

(well worth clickimg on this one, IMHO)

(The first three candles of Hanukkah can still be seen burning here, here, and here)

Bob Menendez (D-La Raza) Shames New Jersey, Again...

...man, this guy is just the worst, and his act has worn thin in New Jersey. And with the emergence of a statewide independent/Republican voting coalition - the one that helped put Chris Christie into office - Menendez's star, never a bright one to begin with, is crashing not with a flame, but with an insipid whimper.

I strongly doubt that comparing those who oppose his agenda to al-Qaeda is going to help his standing in what we can fairly call Purple Jersey, but Menendez does it anyway:

Following several hours of floor speeches hammering the GOP, a handful of Democrats including Sens. Bob Menendez (N.J.), Charles Schumer (N.Y.), Debbie Stabenow (Mich.), Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Jack Reed (R.I.) and Jeff Merkley (Ore.) attacked Republicans in a press conference, repeatedly using the word “hostage” to characterize the status of middle-class tax cuts.

“Do you allow yourself to be held hostage and get something done for the sake of getting something done, when in fact it might be perverse in its ultimate results? It’s almost like the question of do you negotiate with terrorists,” Menendez said when asked whether he and other Democrats would accept a compromise with Republicans.

“The majority has a responsibility to get something done, but [also] to get something done that is good for the country,” he added.

..which apparently means it has to be done without compromising with the Republicans, because that would be the equivalent of bargaining with terrorists. Which is horrible, of course, unless a Republican is president, in which case it is an honorable alternative to war.

Bob Menendez may be the Senate equal to soon-to-be ex-Congressman
Alan Grayson at this point. He's dreadfully unpopular in New Jersey; an attempt to recall him as Senator made its way to the State Supreme Court before being blocked by a 4-2 vote (shocking for a liberal court), and recent polling showed him more than a bit underwater:

Voters are evenly divided on New Jersey's two U.S. Senators, giving Sen. Frank Lautenberg a split 43 - 44 percent approval rating and giving Sen. Robert Menendez a slightly negative 38 - 41 percent score.

"Sen. Robert Menendez is said to be getting into gear for his 2012 campaign. He'd better. Not only did Democrats lose Bergen County, right next door to Menendez' Hudson County home, on Election Day; he gets a slightly negative job approval measure..."

A 38% approval rating for a Democrat in New Jersey? He's deep in the swamp, lost in the Pine Barrens, broken down on the Turnpike. In other words, he's finished. With little hope for 2012, what's left for Dirty Bob, besides rhetorical bomb-throwing, racism, and hateful slurs against your political opponents, and in effect, your own constituents?

Expect it to work as well for Menendez as it did for Grayson. Bye-bye, Bob. But remember - there's always a place for you at the Council of La Raza...

Gina Gershon: This Hanukkah Hottie Is Smokin'!

I - like many other red-blooded American men - have been in love with Gina Gershon since her roll as Corky in "Bound", although she's been on the big screen as far back as "Pretty in Pink", and made good use of her Jewishness in "Curb Your Enthusiasm", season 4, episode 9, when Larry meets a Hasidic dry cleaner played by Gina Gershon.

But one of the best things about Gina is that she defies Jewish stereotypes with her tattoos, her desire to play hard rock in bars as opposed to Chopin at Carnegie, and her overall devil-may-care persona. We're not all bookworms, lawyers, and nebbishes. Some of us are just plain nuts.

Like Gina. So we'll light the third candle of Hanukkah in your honor - may your rebellious Jewish flame burn as bright as a holiday menorah...

(First two Hanukkah Hotties are here, and here....)

Sarah Palin: Honorary "Hanukkah Hottie"? You Betcha!

Readers may have noticed we are running a sequel to last year's "Hanukkah Hotties" series, re-titled for 2010 as "Hanukkah Honeys". Dedicated to beautiful Jewish women the world over, we can't help but wonder if there isn't a place for a "honorary Jew"...like Sarah Palin.

Sarah gets it...better than most of the Jersey Jews whom I will be sharing a synagogue with tonight. Her Hanukkah message:

As Jewish families all over the country and the world come together to celebrate the festival of lights – the miracle of one day’s worth of oil lasting for eight – we are reminded that this holiday is also about the miracle of taking a stand against impossible odds, surviving existential threats, and staying true to one’s values and beliefs through it all.

More than two thousand years after the Maccabees rebelled against their oppressors and reconsecrated their Holy Temple, the Jewish people continue to face threats to their existence, and they continue to persevere and overcome great odds. Today we should all recommit ourselves to ensuring that the miracle of a Jewish state endures forever. The dreidel is one of the most familiar symbols of Hanukkah, with Hebrew letters on it representing the phrase Nes Gadol Haya Sham – “a great miracle happened there.” Indeed a great miracle is still happening there. Todd and I wish the Jewish community a very Happy Hanukkah.

So Sarah, for the purpose of this blog, you are now an honorary Jew. We'll perhaps make you the Shamus, the "helper candle", and give you a special place in between nights 2 & 3 of our Hanukkah Hotties series.

Just like the special place in you have in our hearts:

Charlie Rangal: An Honest Man...

...at least for a moment in time anyway. After being censured by the House, a reporter asked the crooked Congressman to respond to the one aspect of his case that seems to irritate folks the most:

A reporter asks Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) if an average American citizen "went through similar circumstances as yourself that they may be punished in a worse way?"

Rangel lashed out at the reporter: "Please, I'm not a psychiatrist. I don't deal in average American citizens."

"I'll come back to you when you can think of a good question," he added.

Well, Charlie was finally honest - honest enough to display the loathing he has for the American people. In Charlie's vision, we're stupid, we're provincial, we're uninformed, we're racists, and we're just so batshit crazy that anything that comes out of our mouths must be filtered by a mental health professional.

And the Democrats still can't figure out why they have lost their grasp on power. There's no doubt a psychiatrist is sorely needed here, the only question remaining is - who exactly are the folks who need treatment?

Hanukkah Honeys, Night #2: A Jewish Mafia Princess...

...well, on-screen, anyway...

For the second night of Hanukkah, our Jewish honey is none other than Jamie-Lynn Sigler, known best for her HBO role as precocious daughter to psychotic and misunderstood mob boss Tony Soprano. She slid effortlessly and convincingly into the part, perhaps because it was so natural for her - nice Jewish girl that she is - to play a role that involved attending NYU and preparing for a life as a lawyer....

Jamie-Lynn recently rediscovered her Jewishness:

During January 2008, Sigler visited Israel through the Birthright Israel program and subsequently was moved by the trip, calling Israel "one of the most beautiful, inspiring places I've ever been to." She further noted that the trip gave her a greater understanding to preserve her Jewish identity and, after talks with Israeli soldiers who were also participants on the trip, she expressed solidarity towards the efforts of the young soldiers...

Good for you, Jamie Lynn. And good for us as well:

(the first candle - still hot - is here)

WikiLeaks: Germans Pushed Obama To Adopt "Hard Line" With Israel

The American president, taking orders from the Germans on how to deal with the Jews. Well, that's change, all right:

A senior adviser to German chancellor Angela Merkel urged the U.S. to water down its opposition to the U.N.’s anti-Israel “Goldstone Report” in order to force Israel to freeze settlement construction, according to a cable from the U.S. embassy in Berlin published by WikiLeaks.

The dispatch from Merkel’s point man on the Middle East, Christoph Heusgen, ought to raise giant question marks over Merkel’s oft-repeated declarations to the U.S. Congress and the Israeli Knesset that the Jewish state’s security is “non-negotiable” for Germany.

The embassy said in the November 2009 cable: “[National Security Adviser Christoph] Heusgen said that Germany ‘perceives this differently’ and thought Netanyahu needed ‘to do more’ in order to bring the Palestinians to the negotiating table. With Palestinians in East Jerusalem getting notices from Israeli authorities that their houses will be destroyed, it would be ‘suicide’ for President Abbas to move under the current circumstances.

“Heusgen said he could not fathom why Netanyahu did not understand this. He suggested pressuring Netanyahu by linking favorable UNSC [Security Council] treatment of the Goldstone Report to Israel committing to a complete stop in settlement activity.”

So Merkel is full of shit when she talks about Israel's security being "non-negotiable", in fact, it appears as if she is trying to blackmail them to do her bidding, which appears to be for the Jewish state to commit suicide.

And we have already seen that Barack Obama was out-and-out lying when he claimed Israeli refusal to stop settlement building was harming his attempts to draw Arab nations into an anti-Iran coalition; the WikiLeaks cables in fact show the opposite, that the Arabs are even more freaked out by the Mad Mullahs than the Jews are.

And it certainly appears as if these two anti-Semites are in cahoots in trying to force Israel to take steps that are dangerous to her national security. Not that either of them has ever expressed any, ahem, "solidarity" with the Jews, except to slander them, or in the case of Merkel's Germany, to slaughter them.

Both of these assclowns are making war more likely in the Middle East with their sophomoric, anti-Semitic foreign policy. Which means, of course, when war finally does break out, Merkel and Obama will join together and blame...the Jews.

Steve King (R-IA) Delivers An Inconvienent Truth To Congress

Representative King stood up to all the race-hustlers and grievance-whores on the Democratic side of the aisle, as he assailed the passage of legislation appropriating $1.15 billion to fund the controversial, and fraud-plagued, "Pigford settlement program", which pays reparations to black farmers for some unspecified slight against them by the government. Problem is, of course, while the bill's writers claim there are 18,000 legitimate recipients, almost 100,000 have lined up for a handout. No matter, the Democrats seem to claim, we can raise taxes until every last hustler is paid in full.

Mr. King disagrees, and explains why the debts of the Civil War have long since been paid in full - via R.S. McCain:

“We’ve got to stand up at some point and say, ‘We are not going to pay slavery reparations in the United States Congress.’ That war’s been fought. That was over a century ago. That debt was paid for in blood, and it was paid for in the blood of a lot of Yankees, especially. And there’s no reparations for the blood that paid for the sin of slavery. No one’s filing that claim.”

Back in 2008, the state of New Jersey "apologized" for slavery. Me - I feel that perhaps rather than apologize, perhaps someone should be thanking us instead.

Why? Here's why:

2,578 New Jersey soldiers were killed in combat during the Civil War.
2,415 New Jersey soldiers died of disease while serving during the Civil War.
419 New Jersey Soldiers died in prisoner of war camps during the Civil War.

In addition, the hard service of combat and the mind-wrenching horrors of battle also saw 67,500 New Jereyans....

As Rep. King said, any debt has already been paid in blood. The Pigford settlement is just extortion of the descendants of the liberators of the slaves by the professional race-baiters in the Democratic party, and is unworthy of America's blacks, who have more pride than that.

King spoke well. Expect him to get flogged for it...

Hanukkah Honeys - The First Night

Sure, we Jews are known more for our brains than our brawn, and more for marrying sensible wives than possessing sensual girlfriends.

BUT - the truth is that a bevy of beautiful Jewish women will be lighting the menorah for the next eight nights, and opening presents while the dreidel spins, the flames flicker, and the wax slowly drips down the...

Anyway - as my present to the readers of this blog, I'm going to give you a different Hanukkah honey every night for the next eight evenings, each a stunning Jewish Princess, who you may or may not have realized is celebrating the festival of lights rather than the birth of Christ.

So our first honey is....Miss Mila Kunis, star of the much-anticipated Black Swan. She talks about being Jewish:

My whole family was in the holocaust. My grandparents passed and not many survived. After the holocaust in Russia you were not allowed to be religious. So my parents raised me to know I was Jewish. You know who you are inside. You don't need to tell the whole world. You believe what you believe and that's what's important. And that's how I was raised. My family was like 'you are Jewish in your blood'. We can celebrate Yom Kippur and Hannukah but not by the book. We do it to our own extent. Because being in Russia...Bar Mitzvahs weren't held. When I was in school you would still see anti-Semitic signs. One of my friends who grew up in Russia, she was in second grade. And she came home one day crying. Her mother asked why she was crying and she said on the back of her seat there was a swastika. Now this is a country that obviously does not want you. So my parents raised me Jewish as much as they could and came to America. I love my religion. I think it's a beautiful religion...

And you too are beautiful, Mila. Few can hold a candle to you:

The Gulf Oil Spill Conspiracy: Ending in Disaster - For America

So the book is just about closed on the BP Horizon Deepwater rig explosion/fire/leak. And yes, this blog cried "Obama-directed conspiracy!" from Day 1. And so....

While there's been no "smoking well" found, a lot of the most dire predictions on how this manufactured "crisis" would pan out seem to be....panning out.

On March 31st, 2010, environmentalists
howled as Obama made a surprise "compromise" on offshore oil drilling:

The Obama administration will approve significant oil and gas exploration off America’s coasts, including a possible sale two years from now of leases off Virginia’s coast, administration officials said Wednesday.

And t-minus three weeks later, a rig blows up in the Gulf of Mexico, causing the "worst environmental crisis ever". Coincidence?
May 1st, 2010:

President Obama announces a change in national policy on offshore drilling, and 20 days later a platform explodes, creating an environmental disaster that, we’re told, may be worse than the Exxon Valdez. That’s timing so perfect it’s usually associated with Abbott and Costello. There are a lot of folks who passionately opposed the possibility of expanded offshore drilling and who would have the motive to help “enable” an accident that discredited the policy.

And today, December 1st, 2010, a mere five months later to the day, the big BP payoff for Obama & the gang as
their goals are realized:

The Obama administration plans to reverse the offshore-drilling policy it had announced in March, pre-BP spill. Offshore drilling will instead continue to be severely constrained. From the Washington Post:

Obama administration officials will announce Wednesday afternoon they will not allow offshore oil drilling in the eastern Gulf of Mexico or off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts as part of the next five-year drilling plan, according to sources briefed on the plan, reversing two key policy changes President Obama announced in late March.

During that announcement — less than a month before the BP oil spill — Obama and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said they would open up the eastern Gulf and parts of the Atlantic, including off the coast of Virginia, to offshore oil and gas exploration.

Just as we predicted. Obama realized he angered his base - and blew up an oil rig to cover his own backtracking.

Another goal of the BP oil rig conspiracy: Creating "energy scarcity" in order to provide a rationale for cap & trade legislation and further energy taxation.
July 11th, 2010:

Wanting—or creating—scarcity has always been a part of the leftist agenda, on the theory that scarcities create the need for government allocation and control. One of the greatest threats of the current situation is that environmental extremists will use it as a justification to further their misguided agenda.

What has happened since then? Well, Obama and Ken Salazar's "temporary" moratorium on drilling in the Gulf immediately after the disaster (you know - the one they obtained by lying about scientific testimony when it didn't fit the facts) caused a number of offshore companies to leave the Gulf - permanently. And in so leaving, a huge resource now goes untapped. Add that to the revocation announced today of the minimal concessions Obama made to offshore drilling, and one might wonder where we will get our energy from in the very short-term future.

Natural gas, perhaps? There's a shit-ton of it underneath the rocks of New York State! A great way to produce domestic energy and add jobs to an impoverished economy, right?

Well, if you're a Democrat, it's...wrong. Coincidentally, in a special session of the New York State Assembly, before it gains even more Republican seats, we get this, just yesterday, in a "fluke" of timing:

The New York State Assembly on Monday gave final approval to a six-month moratorium on a controversial method of natural gas extraction while state and federal agencies review its possible health impacts.

The moratorium -- which calls for no drilling permits to be issued until at least May 15, 2011 -- was approved by the state Senate in August.

The legislation now heads to Governor David Paterson, who leaves office in January and has until the end of this year to sign the measure into law.

Part of New York state sits atop the Marcellus Shale, a massive rock formation that also extends across parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. It has been among the most active U.S. drilling sites and by some estimates could hold enough gas to meet U.S. needs for a decade or more.

The natural gas industry has vigorously opposed the moratorium, saying it would halt most oil and gas drilling currently allowed, in addition to high-volume fracking.

The Independent Oil and Gas Association of New York, an industry group, called the moratorium a "job killer" in a statement issued ahead of the Assembly's vote.

You could not work any harder to create energy scarcity than this - destroying the Gulf oil-drilling industry, rolling back any plans to expand oil drilling, and forbid it entirely in areas where it is there for the taking.

Almost as if someone planed the entire thing, from the BP rig going down, to the New York Democrats going down. One might call it...a conspiracy.

Unravelling just as we predicted. See you in the gas lines, where we'll be skipping meals to pay for fuel at $8- a gallon while billions are spent to tilt at windmills...literally...

Bi-Partisanship, Jersey-Style: Both Sides Attack Unions

The battles we are seeing in Jersey presage the greater war that will be waged nationwide, if we are ever to hope of bringing our finances under control. Yesterday Democrat Cory Booker, mayor of Newark, was forced to fire 167 police officers due to union intransigence:

Mayor Cory Booker criticized the Fraternal Order of Police for an "unwillingness to make one penny's worth of concessions in order to save jobs," and noted that all other city employee unions had made concessions in recent months.

He also slammed the union's executive board for rejecting the city's demands without putting them to a vote by the full membership.

And why did the union refuse? Fear of setting a precedent:

FOP President Derrick Hatcher defended the union's actions..."To put it out for a vote would basically be renegotiating our contract," he said

God forbid. Instead of having the force take a few dollars in pay/benefit reductions, 167 good officers lost their jobs (Newark is a tough gig), and the city will be less safe than it was yesterday. But hey - at least no one took a pay cut!

On the other side of the aisle, Chris Christie, while at the "Jeb Bush Excel in Education" annual summit in Washington, D.C.,
went off on his favorite target, the teacher's union, known as the NJEA:

When talking about the financial wealth of the NJEA, Christie said, “But what strikes you when you go down State Street as a new governor is that there are all these small buildings, except for two. The State House, and right across the street, the palace built by the NJEA.”

“...And I mean a palace,” Christie went on, “built with $130 million in dues they collect a year. $130 million in dues a year. So you say to yourself, ‘Well, with $130 million dues a year, they must contribute to their members’ salaries.’”

“No,” said Christie.

“‘They must be contributing to their members’ pensions,’” Christie said, before indicating that wasn’t the case.

“‘$130 million a year – all right – they’re kicking it for their member’s health benefits,’” he continued.

Again, Christie said “No.”

And the NJEA continues to allow teachers to get fired because - like the Newark FOP - it's more about their power than about their members, or the public they claim to serve.

But there is hope here. If both sides recognize the problem (and granted, both politicians involved here are mavericks), then perhaps both sides will work together to solve it, and provide their citizens with streamlined, effective government services at a fair market value.

They'd better. Or we will find someone else who will....
