Yeah, Fat Chance

Victor Davis Hanson imagines an impossible scenario:

...please don’t tell me that the 93% of us that played by our grandfathers’ rules are obligated to come to the rescue of the 7%, who did the exact opposite. At one of your town meetings, just one, instead of pandering to those who defaulted, ask one of us to stand up for paying our debts and then say to the crowd, “Give a hand to Mrs. Battered American. S he pays her mortgage, so the rest of us don’t have to!” Try that just once.”

Sorry, VDH. The "victims" (of their own stupidity) now hold the moral high ground over those who simply work hard and play by the rules. And if you dare speak up in opposition to The New Morality, a thin-skinned, victimized White House will be there to smack you down.

Ayn Rand tried to warn us of the coming of The New Morality, and we didn't notice it (or perhaps we did, and simply turned our heads away) because it was wrapped up in fancy rhetoric and a new skin color and it had the media's seal of approval:

"It only stands to reason that where there’s sacrifice, there’s someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there’s service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of service and sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.”

So on your knees, America. To the hopeless, to the worthless, to the victims, to the idiots, to the Democrats, to Barack Obama. They are your moral betters now...

Our president is helping us. You forget that it is the governments job to help its citizens. If the cannot pay my credit card bills then the government should help. How else can I keep spending money to help our country. The government should also pay parents if they attend PTA meetings and pay children if they do homework. Otherwise who will? I can't believe that you don't understand this.

Gimme. Gimme. Gimme. You are exactly right. People in this country want to be paid for things they should already be doing. Love the sarcasm.
