I Can't Wait To See the Real Chuck Hagel !!

Jewish Democrats, and Democrats who represent Jews, are coming around to the idea of supporting the anti-Israeli, anti-Semitic Chuck Hagel for Secretary of Defense.  For it seems as if he has done what it necessary for him to earn Senate confirmation: he has rejected every past position he has ever held.  All neatly done in a letter to Barbara Boxer, as reported by Jonathan Tobin:

In it, he didn’t merely apologize for his bragging about standing up to the “Jewish lobby,” but also backtracked from previous stands on the U.S.-Israel alliance, the threat from Iran and even specified that he now considers Hamas and Hezbollah to be terrorist groups.

As expected, Hagel flipped on his anti-gay stance as well as his opposition to abortion rights for members of the armed services—issues that are important to the liberal Boxer. But by explicitly reversing his positions on Middle East issues that he had held throughout his years in the Senate and after he left Congress, Hagel has made it clear that he is willing to say anything necessary to win the approval of pro-Israel Democrats without whom he cannot win confirmation.

Jen Rubin feels there is a lot left unsaid:

Then there is his apology for his “Jewish lobby” remark, which his supporters have either denied or dubbed trivial. Hagel now says he apologizes for a “poor choice of words.” But Boxer apparently neglected to ask him about his even more noxious declaration that he is not the senator for Israel. Was that also a poor choice of words? Moreover, this is not a mere choice of words. Hagel said that the Jewish lobby “intimidates” lawmakers. Which lawmakers? Was he intimidated?

None of this hangs together. Nor does it answer the many questions surrounding Hagel, among them his comments warning against “isolating” Iran, his refusal to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization, his belief that Israel and its conflict with the Palestinians is at the root of all the Middle East’s problems or his call for direct negotiations with Hamas.

Jen is right, of course, but it doesn't matter.  Chuck Schumer has already endorsed Hagel based on the Boxer letter refuting every past position he ever held.  Luckily for Hagel, he never tied a dog carried to the roof of his car on a road trip 20-odd years ago.  Then, he would have been disqualified.

Me, I like the fact Hagel did not apologize for his belief in a "Jewish lobby", but simply regrets his phrasing.  Expect to hear a lot about the "Zionist lobby" once Hagel is given the job to take apart America's defenses...

Here's where Jonathan Tobin is dead wrong, by the way:

There’s good reason to believe that Hagel was chosen precisely because the president privately shares some of those views that the nominee is now disavowing. But this is also a president who understands that his political capital is finite and can’t be squandered on anti-Israel grudges when there are much larger and more important battles to be fought in the next four years. The campaign against Hagel may not succeed in stopping his confirmation. But by forcing him to start talking like a neoconservative on Israel, it has demonstrated that there is a limit to how far even a re-elected Obama can go when it comes to straying from the foreign policy mainstream.

On so many levels, wrong. There is no limit to how far out of the mainstream Barack Obama can go; he's been given his "flexibility" by the American people, and the media won't hold him to account. Furthermore, this is a president who believes his political capital is infinite, and can count on the media to morph every one of his hissy fits into a story about his strong leadership and benign countenance.

Just as Obama ran on "One America" and has been the most strident partisan president in American history, Hagel is saying whatever it takes to get the Secretary of Defense post, and will freely go back on his word afterwards. Again, no one will hold him to account - not the media, not the Democrats, not the Jews.

Ah, my fellow Jews. For them it is that I want Chuck Hagel to be elevated to Secretary of Defense. Because he's gonna fustigate Israel, and defenestrate the Jews.

And it is look past time for the Jews to be protected from their continual poor choices...

Obama Dispenses, Decries "Fear"....

Barack Obama, at his press conference earlier today, talks about gun control:

Asked about the surge in gun and ammunition sales, Obama blamed "a fear that's been fanned" by opponents of gun control.

“We’ve seen—for some time now—that those who oppose any common-sense gun control or gun-safety measures have a pretty effective way of ginning up fear on the part of gun owners that somehow the federal government’s about to take all your guns away," he said.

Same press conference, different topic - the upcoming debt ceiling battle:

President Barack Obama ratcheted up pressure on congressional Republicans to authorize an increase in the nation’s debt limit, warning of potentially catastrophic results for many Americans and the overall economy if the U.S. were to default on its obligations.

“The issue here is whether or not America pays its bills,” Obama said at a press conference on Monday, the last of his first term in office. “We are not a deadbeat nation.”

And the president sought to frame the risks of default in stark terms. He warned markets would go “haywire” if Congress would not act; Obama said that interest rates would rise, and checks to Social Security beneficiaries and military veterans would cease...

I don't expect outrage at this type of mean-spirited double-talk by Barack Obama - hey, he got re-elected with it, so give the people what they want, right?

But I still find it disheartening to note that not one eyebrow is raised, not one eye is rolled, not one sigh is heaved by the political cognoscenti at this affront to basic decency, as well as to the intelligence of the American people.

Hey, I realize most of them are liberals, and most of them voted for Obama.  But an "ends justifies the means" type of shrug to this callus, indifferent behavior towards the truth only emboldens those in power further   And that, as history has proven again and again, never turns out well for anyone...

UPDATE: R.S. McCain's take on the Obama presser:

What the press corps loves about President Obama is the astonishing audacity of his lies. He doesn’t bother with tiny fibs or slight misrepresentations. No, by God, he tells massive whoppers that everyone understands to be false, but which he knows he can get away with because — like the favorite child of an over-indulgent mother — he has the smug sense of entitlement necessary to erupt in indignation if he is ever called on his lies: “How dare you notice my self-serving deceptions!”

Lady Gaga: Gun Nut? Or Dumb Slut?

Maybe this is her subtle way of telling bullied kids (her cause de jour) that the Second Amendment protects their rights to fight back?

Lady Gaga brazenly gave a whole new meaning to the term “gun rack” this weekend when the provocative pop star wore an “assault rifle” bra during a show in Canada — despite the sensitive debate over such weapons gripping the US in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting.

While I am quite the strong supporter of gun rights, I think that wearing automatic weaponry as frivolous sexual accessory is a bit tasteless, especially at this date and time.

I would understand if Lady Gaga was trying to play an anti-hero here, or throwing around some punk rock-style rebellion in an attempt to piss people off, or shake up the system.  But is seems as if  Gaga apparently signed a petition a few weeks ago demanding greater gun control.  It reads in part:

“The time has come for courage. The Courage to make our schools and workplaces, our shopping malls and movie theaters -- all the places we share every day -- safe from gun violence. The courage to stand up to the NRA -- to put human life ahead of extreme ideology. The courage to ban weapons of mass murder that at anytime, anywhere, can turn America into a killing field."

Seems like Gaga is sending mixed messages.  Or perhaps has revealed herself as a standard vacuous celebrity, paying lip service to popular causes but refuses to sacrifice anything of value to support them.  Even if that something of value is a Tommy-gun brassiere.

If the time is here for "courage", well...Lady Gaga just proved she has none.

No taste, either.

"No justice at all, except poetic justice..."

Oh - and that "poetic justice" is about to be served upon the citizens of the United States of America.  Over at the Belmont Club, we get a preview of the chaos that is coming to a 'burg near you...

...people who voted for Obama, from Alan Dershowitz to the unions on down, are feeling betrayed. They thought they were going to get the special treatment. But the system has run out of “other people’s money” already. So now it is going after their money. With the Constitution disabled — and which the supporters helped disable in the first place in the mistaken belief the raids would always be on other people — there is nothing left to protect them.

No justice at all except poetic justice.

What the future holds may be foreshadowed by events in Venezuela. Roger Noriega, writing for Foreign Policy notes that in Venezuela, the hyenas and the buzzards are now fighting over the country’s bones. “With cancer-stricken Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez clinging to life in a Havana hospital, an intense struggle for power is under way in Caracas, pitting Cuban-backed ideologues against narcogenerals.” This is where socialism, taken to its limit goes. Gangsterism.

What’s to stop them? The Venezuelan constitution is now about as unenforceable as Oliver Cromwell’s enactment of 1657 making it illegal to eat mince pies anywhere in England on Christmas Day.

Socialism is a fairy tale they tell chumps but the insiders know that money rules the roost....

And when the money runs out, there is nothing left to do but fight over what remains.  Perhaps Barack Obama is being shrewd in his constant attempts to enforce redistribution upon the American people - he knows where his policies will take us.

The president believes, however, that he & his will be safe when the streets are left to the jackals.  But Karma tends to be cruel, is immune to social status and conventional wisdom, and offers no guarantees to anyone...

Once, Dissent Was Patriotic. Now, You're A "Total Jerkface"...

Read the note, check out the headline, and skim the inane paragraph that accompanies it:

The MSN commentoriat are largely supportive, with most echoing the refrain that if you can't afford the tip, skip the trip.

But liberals are, by and large  economic illiterates.  If everyone who decided they weren't going to leave a tip, or could only afford a meager one, stayed home, a lot of these restaurants would be closing up shop.  If they are specifically asking conservatives not to eat out, then you are by and large telling 50% of the public to keep out of their establishments.  50% at least, as I am not sure the better establishments take food stamps (yet.  Perhaps, for self-esteem purposes, we can get the "poor" a monthly surf & turf allowance?)

Which would put a lot of these waiters and waitresses out of work entirely, leaving them totally unemployed instead of being stiffed out of one or two tips a shift (more likely by the "chew & screw" bunch than you average law-abiding Tea Partier).

Where this done in support of a liberal position - say, a note left in a church collection plate in lieu of cash, condemning their refusal to perform perverted nuptials - the media would be squealing in delight, instead of squealing like pigs.

But they squeal, like most animals do, out of fear.  Fear that the message sent will be received   So they label it the work of "jerkfaces", in the hope of condemning the messenger (while not actually acknowledging the message).

That's a big fail, media.  You'd don't like what I have to say, so you're gonna call me names, in the hope of shaming me into silence?

 Fuck you.

In fact, it's attacks like these that refuel my urge to continue blogging in the first place.  So the more you try to shut me up, the louder I'm gonna scream.

Bring it, bitches.  Bring it.

Media Desperately Works The Gun Control Narrative, To No Avail...

Screenshots taken this morning:

The first, from Google News, uses exclusively hard-left "news" sources in order to create the impression of a consensus.  The second piece, from The Wrap (carried by Yahoo News), takes offense to Ted Nugent comparing the 2nd Amendment struggle to the civil rights battle of African Americans, and declares he has "shot" (eliminationist rhetoric alert!) off his mouth" in his in the process.  Useful to remember, the next time the "fight" for gay marriage or the "battle" against global warming is compared to the civil rights struggles of the 60's.  Which usually occurs every 15 minutes...

But the bottom line is that for all of Biden's bluster, and Obama's tough-talk, very little controlling of guns is actually going to happen.  Even the New York Times believes the administration is rapidly trying to downsize expectations for what changes they will be able to accomplish here.  At this point, the idiotic talk of "gun confiscation"  has been scaled back to "tougher background checks" - and with a newly bolstered and activated NRA membership; Joe and O will be lucky to get even that much.

Commentary mocks the media for assuming that they were, in fact, representative of "public opinion".:

The assumption was that a re-elected President Obama would get any sort of gun control legislation passed that he wanted and that the National Rifle Association would be powerless to stop him. But even before next Tuesday’s announcement of the recommendations made to the president by Vice President Biden, it appears as if everyone in the capital knows that it is highly unlikely that the administration will be able to pass any sort of major gun control bill....

This has to leave a lot of liberals, who have been watching the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC spend the last month telling them that the Republicans would reinforce their status as the “stupid party” if they tried to obstruct Obama’s gun plans, wondering what happened. It turns out that...the massive shift in public opinion and among politicians that we were told had happened since Newtown is a figment of the liberal imagination.

But the main point to take away from this turnaround is the fashion in which media elites are disconnected from political reality.

The aftermath of Newtown did give gun control advocates an opening to refloat all of their old proposals with more traction than they have had in many years...

But none of that changes the fact that there is still a reliable majority in Congress that is opposed to infringement on the right to possess guns and little proof that any such legislation would stop tragedies like Newtown from happening.

That so many talking heads blithely assumed that all this would change after Newtown was merely wishful thinking on their part. That’s something to remember the next time liberals make similar assumptions about the conventional wisdom that they are trying to foist on the country
.

This time, the will of the people prevailed over the Will of The One, and his state-ensnared media operation. Don't count on it working again.  After all, when all is said and done...we are still stuck with ObamaCare, right?

UPDATE:   Some people still don't get it...former Pennsylvania governor and liberal Democrat Ed Rendell says, "The good thing about Newton is..."

Andrew Cuomo: Riding To 2016 Nomination On New York's Corpse?

Well, liberalism leaves behind a bloody trail of them, that's for sure.  See Detroit.  Chicago.  California...

After a year or so of governing as a centrist, almost (Bill) Clinton-esque governor, Andrew's taken a hard left turn.  Obvious to any who saw his shrieking, hysterical, podium-pounding rant about gun control at the end of his "Ste of the State" speech this week.  But why the sudden, radical change?  Michael Benjamin in the New York Post:

His chances to succeed President Obama improved markedly with Hillary Clinton’s second brush with blood clots, for the underlying condition can be greatly aggravated by frequent air-pressure changes — which makes the frequent flights of a presidential campaign a potential mortal hazard...

But that means guarding his left flank — already under attack by progressives nationally for his embrace of the IDC/GOP coalition in the Senate. So he’s pivoting to show what a Democratic governor in a one-party state can accomplish.

To that end, Cuomo on Wednesday unveiled a wish list of progressive touchstones, from women’s equality to gun control to full-day pre-K and a longer school year.

The recent radio interview where he mentioned outlawing and confiscating semi-automatic military-style rifles was no accident. He wasn’t talking to gun owners, but to the large anti-gun wing in the Democratic Party.

Instead of fixing our broken and underfunded mental health safety net, Cuomo criminalizes ownership of the weapons abused by mentally ill killers.

This new unCuomo is letting Matt Damon, Mark Ruffalo, Josh Fox and environmentalist know-nothings dictate the state’s development policies. State scientists have determined that the gas-drilling technique known as hydrofracking can be done safely in the Southern Tier (after all, it’s done safely all across the country) — but unCuomo still delays a decision on ending New York’s ban.

He proposed Charge NY, a statewide network of charging stations for electric vehicles — ignoring the lack of progress on his previously announced plans to bring Canadian hydroelectric power downstate...

In a sense, Andrew Cuomo is Barack Obama right now.  Look what our Mario Jr. is offering:  a vast new array of spending programs with no way to pay for them, job-killing environmental policies (and wasteful green initiatives that have proven to be failures elsewhere), and the revocation of the Second Amendment.

No daylight between our two clown princes, it seems, as Cuomo positions himself as the true heir apparent to Obama's velvety throne.

Andrew does have one problem that Obama doesn't:  New York State can't print money, so short of raising taxes dramatically, he's got no way of paying for his delusions of liberal grandeur.  Furthermore, the new taxes pushed by Obama and voted for by New York's two Democratic senators will have a crippling effect on the state's economy, as the federal government will now be confiscating citizen dollars that may have been spent on businesses and services within the region.

Add to that additional taxes, both enacted and proposed, on Wall Street and major banking concerns - both of whom do the yeoman's work of filling the state's coffers - and the state of New York is heading for a fiscal cliff all of its own.  And that's before we start spending what precious little taxpayer money is left on "charging stations".

Andrew Cuomo is betting that national Democrats will ignore the destruction of the Empire State, as long as he has a proven track record of enacting the destructive policies they love the most.  And he may be right - as witnessed by the last five years, the party's logo may as well be a wrecking ball colliding into a shining city.

But a lot can change between now and 2016, as all of Barack Obama's polices begin to bear their evil fruit.  In a nation that is broke, sick, and weak, gun control and free day-care may no longer be the people's top concerns...

Obama Pisses Off Britain At Just The Right Time...

Do you remember, back in 2004, a British newspaper urged its citizens to write letters to Americans living in Clark County, Ohio, begging them not to vote for George Bush?

Talk about backfire. On Election Day 2012, Clark was the only one of Ohio's 88 counties to go from blue to red in a state Bush narrowly won.

Folks just don't like foreigners butting into their affairs, especially when it come to the political process.  No doubt Barack Obama doesn't believe this ironclad law of human nature applies to him - after all, he is The One.

Alas for Narcissus, his inflated ego and unforgivable ignorance rule his day, and oft lead him astray.  As it did again yesterday in Great Britain, where he virtually demanded that the Brits sit tight within the EU and relinquish their democracy with that stiff upper lip they are so famous for.

The New York Times:

The United States entered Britain’s debate over its relationship with the European Union on Wednesday, when a senior diplomat implicitly warned the British government not to do anything that might endanger its membership in the 27-nation union.

The timing of the rare public intervention is also significant, coming shortly before a long-awaited speech by Prime Minister David Cameron in which he intends to lay out plans for a redefinition of Britain’s relationship with the European Union...

In London, Mr. Gordon indicated that any British withdrawal from the union would be unwelcome and said that referendums held by other nations on European Union agreements “have sometimes turned countries inward.”

At Commentary, much mockery of the president and his intelligence:

There is a fair amount of chutzpah in the administration’s request....

Having insulted Britain’s government repeatedly, he is low on credibility; incompetence has its consequences....The speech Cameron is expected to give likely will include a proposal for a “looser” arrangement between the EU and Britain. Cameron may even promise to hold a public referendum on the changes. This–the practice known as “democracy”–seems to be what the State Department official Gordon feared most,

This is an implicit acknowledgement that the people don’t much like the EU.  The Obama administration is thus worried that the people will have a say in the affairs of their country, and that the people of Britain will express an opinion at odds with what Barack Obama thinks they should think (imagine that). Is the United States now in the business of explicitly warning Western Europe not to practice democracy? Has the Obama administration given much thought to the great many ways this could backfire?

Short answer: No.

But to me, the timing of Obama idiocy is heaven-sent. The EU is a corrupt organization that is disenfranchising the voters of Europe, after two bloody wars fought to preserve it.  Whereas the British were not positively predisposed to the entire project to begin with, is is likely that they would have gone along with  the mere cosmetic changes Cameron will no doubt offer.

But now?  It is not as if Obama is popular with the Brits.  How hard will this backfire upon him, Cameron, and the EU in general?

Oh, we are gonna find out.  Pour a drink for this one, it's gonna be special.

And where is Niles Farage, the fearless leader of UKIP -  Britain's devotedly anti-EU party?  I can't imagine he'll stay silent for long....

The ObamaCare "Death Spiral" Has Begun!

It was so obvious, even a child could see it.

But not a liberal.

Even the New York Times was forced to admit last week, in shocked - shocked! - terms, that the cost of health insurance was beginning to spiral sharply  upwards, despite all their assurances to the contrary.  And while they can see the obvious symptoms, they are still too stupid to see where it is going to end.

In death.  For Americans.  And the insurance industry   And what was once the most vibrant medical community in the world.

Phillip Klein, at the Washington Examiner:

...as the Obama administration argued before the Supreme Court, those who choose not to purchase insurance would still be in compliance with the law so long as they paid the tax penalty for not purchasing insurance. Should premiums continue to rise, more and more uninsured Americans are going to choose to pay the penalty rather than purchase expensive insurance. And those who go without insurance are more likely to be the ones who can afford to do so — young and healthy Americans with limited medical expenses. Should this occur, insurers would have to raise premiums even more to subsidize the expenses of the sicker beneficiaries they must cover under the law. This, in turn, would cause additional people to forgo insurance and pay the fine. And so on. This is known in the health care policy community as the “death spiral” and it’s one of the biggest threats to the structure of Obamacare.

Actually, it's one of the biggest threats to the people of the United States, who are about to see their way of life torn asunder, as affordable health insurance becomes a thing of the past for those who had it, and unattainable for those who don't.

Which will lead to a government attempt to take over the entire industry.  Which some feel has been the real plan all along.

We lost this argument in November 2012, primarily because we picked a candidate who was unable to speak about ObamaCare, lest his own experiment in socialized medicine draw further scrutiny.

Nothing to do now but pour a drink, and chronicle the decline.

And pray, like our ancestors did, for good health.  For  - like them - prayer may be the only thing the government leaves us with.

For now.

Let's Take Bets: What Will Prevent Hillary From Testifying On Benghazi On January 22nd?

Hot Air:

Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) announced that Hillary Clinton would finally testify about the deadly terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi, with the retiring Secretary of State “anxious” to talk to Congress about what she knows.

“I had some very good conversations with her chief of staff,” Corker told Mitchell. “My sense is, her hearing probably will take place the morning of the 22nd.”

And my sense is she will not, unless she feels that enough smoke is being popped on other issues (gun control, fiscal cliffs) that she can snake through the hearings on her belly, unscathed.

Most likely, the media will paint her "comeback" from her mysterious illnesses as a heart-warming story, thus making any Republican attacks on her heinous record appear to be cruel, thoughtless, and anti-women (of course).

But should attention refocus on her actual  testimony,  I predict she will come down with any one of the following Congress-cancelling diseases, maladies, and oddities:

Whooping cough
Mumps (most believable - see right)
Itchy Vagina Syndrome
Kuru (aka Laughing Sickness)
Incurable Hiccups
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Restless Leg Syndrome
Yeast infection
Tourettes
"Brain Tumor Part II:  The Sequel"

My money is on the last one.  Or  - just to make sure no one dares to talk about it - I wouldn't rule out a case of  IVS...

Why Was Hagel Picked? Follow The Money...And The Jews

David Brooks, the house "conservative" at the Washington Post (even my scare quotes do not do justice for the disdain I have for him), sort-of defends the Chuck Hagel pick for Secretary of Defense, but makes an illustrative point in doing so:

Chuck Hagel has been nominated to supervise the beginning of this generation-long process of defense cutbacks. If a Democratic president is going to slash defense, he probably wants a Republican at the Pentagon to give him political cover, and he probably wants a decorated war hero to boot.

All the charges about Hagel’s views on Israel or Iran are secondary. The real question is, how will he begin this long cutting process....?

How, in short, will Hagel supervise the beginning of America’s military decline? If members of Congress don’t want America to decline militarily, well, they have no one to blame but the voters and themselves.

We can't be both a military superpower and a welfare state.  It's long been obvious which status was favored by Barack Obama.  It took the election of 2012 for the American people to give him the flexibility he needed to undertake the structural work of the transformational change the president promised.  And so we have sealed our own fate.

And while I don't believe that Hagel’s views on Israel or Iran are secondary...they may in fact be to Obama. The fact that they align with the president's worldview is just added value, as they say.

In fact, Barack Obama and Chuck Hagel  are kindred spirits - two intellectual lightweights with swelled heads and delusions of grandeur. The New York Sun takes  Hagel down with one power punch:

By what deep principles is Senator Hagel guided in his long years of hanging back from anything that could be construed as helpful to the Jewish state or unhelpful to her enemies? He’s made no life’s work of sound money. He’s made no life’s work of constitutional fundamentals. We can’t think of a single over-riding principle in his career, save for an abiding sneer at Israel, in which he seems to take a certain mischievous glee. Maybe we’re missing something that will emerge during the confirmation process, but based on the record so far, we’d be surprised....

Who else does that sound like, by the way?

Finally, we get to those pesky Jews - the Wall Street Journal:

But give Mr. Hagel this: When it comes to expressing himself about Israel, its enemies, and the influence of the so-called Jewish lobby, he has been nothing if not consistent and outspoken.

Chuck Hagel talks about the "Jewish lobby" - not the "Israel lobby", mind you. One almost expects him to start to sputter Hitler-style, and begin screaming about "lebensraum" and "der Juden"...

Maybe that's political courage. Or maybe it's a mental twitch, the kind you can't quite help. The confirmation process should be illuminating...

Nah.

It won't tell us anything we don't already know.

And he will pass through the Senate, because each individual (Democratic) Senator cares more about his political fortunes than the fortunes of the nation, or the wishes of their constituents.

And I will have a drink, and ponder how instant karma got the Jews right between the eyes...

Google Says "Don't Be Evil", Proceeds To Kiss Satan's Ass...

Eric Schmidt, the executive chairman of Google, will be taking a trip to the heart of darkness, despite strong disapproval from the State Department.

No, he's not going to the White House. He's going to North Korea, along with former U.N. ambassador Bill Richardson. At Commentary, Bethany Mandel rips the billionaire hypocrite a new one:

“Richardson has said that Schmidt is ‘interested in some of the economic issues there, the social media aspect.’” The visit will no doubt be used by the North Koreans as a propaganda tool to legitimize the regime’s hold on power...

Eric Schmitdt’s participation in the trip is particularly perplexing. In May 2008, Google hosted the only known North Korean gulag escapee, Dong-hyuk Shin and Adrian Hong, the then-executive director of Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) for a visit to Google’s Tech Talks, an ongoing program for those in the technology community to share information. During the hour-long visit, Shin used Google Earth to pinpoint not only where the gulag he was raised was located, but was also able to zoom in close enough to show the buildings he worked and slept in.

If anyone in the world could and should know about the evil of North Korea without needing to visit, it is Schmidt. The Standard‘s Epstein quite rightly asks, “Why would the chairman of a company whose motto is ‘Don’t Be Evil,’ hobnob with a regime that embodies evil itself?”

Because Schmidt may be able to make money there. Or perhaps hide more of his earning under the failing North Korean rice paddy crop, so that our #1 Obama supporter doesn't have to pay the very taxes he advocates for.

And that's me being charitable. Is it possible that Schmidt might be so full of himself that he believes that he can somehow broker understanding between the psychotic Korean regime and the West, a goal that even the treasonous, treacherous Jimmy Carter has failed at?

Do not underestimate the hubris of the liberal mindset.  Or the stupidity.

Or the evil.

The Final Word On Hillary's Head...

NSFW:

A reporter, crossing paths with Bill Clinton outside of a DC restaurant, takes the opportunity to call out a quick question:

"Mr. President!  Mr. President! How's Hillary's head?  "

       'Ol Bill shouted back,

"She's getting better!  Still not as good as Monica, though..."

Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week...

Well, this could never happen here...

...it's not as if the president plans to appoint any anti-Semites to high office, or has had cabinet members calling for violent revolution, or supportive of authoritarian dogma.  And it's not like Barack Obama has openly taken up with any brown-shirts himself...

Oh, wait:

In the first image, Shabazz stands at the podium, surrounded by uniformed Panthers, including Muhammed. In the second photograph, Obama commands the same podium.

The Wages Of Obama Come Due!

A scant two months after his re-election, Americans are being forced to pay the piper.  Said pipe currently being played by Barack Obama, who is leading all of America off a cliff, much like his fables forerunner in Hamelin.

But hey - I'm not angry about it anymore.  It's kind of funny, to watch every warning conservatives offered come to pass, and see Obama voters scratch their heads and utter animal-like grunts of bewilderment.

First, we had the inaugural paychecks of 2013, which virtually every working citizen found to be...a bit light, despite assurances to the contrary.  As I mentioned last Friday, my medical deduction went up as well....and apparently, I wasn't the only one.

The New York Times is befuddled:

Health insurance companies across the country are seeking and winning double-digit increases in premiums for some customers, even though one of the biggest objectives of the Obama administration’s health care law was to stem the rapid rise in insurance costs for consumers.

Particularly vulnerable to the high rates are small businesses and people who do not have employer-provided insurance and must buy it on their own.

Perhaps it is because they take the words of the Kremlin - sorry, the White House - at face value:

As a result of the review process, federal officials say, rates were reduced, on average, by nearly three percentage points, according to a report issued last September..

You see?  It is funny!

But if you like jokes, the biggest one was played on the Jews, who somehow still believed, after all the evidence of their eyes, that Barack Obama was a friend of Israel.  With the looming nomination of Chuck Hagel as Defense Secretary, well...the Jews will get the anti-Semite they deserve:

The flavor of the accounts is given in a headline in one Jewish website: “Nebraska Jews Recall Senator Chuck Hagel as ‘Unfriendly’ and ‘Unmovable’ on Israel, ‘Didn’t Give a Damn About the Jewish Community.’” The former editor of the Omaha Jewish Press recalled that “Hagel was the only one we have had in Nebraska, who basically showed the Jewish community that he didn’t give a damn about the Jewish community or any of our concerns.” Another community leader commented that “During his last year in office, we knew he was not going to run again, he never returned any of our calls.

And there's this now-infamous remark:

A meeting with officials of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), which sought to keep USO Haifa open, was described by Marsha Halteman of JINSA to the Washington Free Beacon.

He said to me, ‘Let the Jews pay for it....I told him at the time that I found his comments to be anti-Semitic.

A pro-Iran, anti-Israeli anti-Semite?  He's Obama dream Sec of Def.  Don't complain, my fellow Jews - you are the ones who gave Obama the "flexibility" he so craved...

And for any law-abiding American with a gun who voted for Obama, well...prepare to fork it over.  Any dumbass who believed him when he said this -

“I believe in the Second Amendment. I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I won’t take your handgun away… But I am not going to take your guns away. So if you want to find an excuse not to vote for me, don’t use that one because it just ain’t true. It ain’t true.

- is probably too stupid to own a gun anyway.  Either way, the Second Amendment that Barack Obama claimed to so fervently believed in is now about to be circumvented by...Barack Obama:

If new gun control measures don’t pass the Senate and House, the game is far from over. The Obama administration is investigating the possibility of executive orders reclassifying semi-automatic firearms as class 2 weapons, thus doing by fiat what the legislative branch rejected.

So what did we achieve with Barack Obama's re-election?  Higher taxes, higher health insurance premiums, anti-Semites in high office, and restrictive gun control.

And "Inauguration Day:  The Sequel" is still weeks away.

Pay the piper, America.  You voted for him, and he's giving you exactly what we said he would.

At least I'm gonna die laughing...

Homeless Bag Lady, Or Democratic Congresswoman?

Clink thru to Parkway Rest Stop for the answer...

Best comment from PRS...

She looks like Iggy Pop on a bad day...

Sorry.  Yeah, I wish I could "un-see" this too...

Barack Obama: Incredibly Dumb, Or Incredibly Cruel?

Hurricane Sandy victim Donna Vanzant - made quasi-famous for hugging Barack Obama amongst the wreckage, and giving him the photo-op he needed to seal Election 2012 - was talking about the president the other day. Giving us a little picture of how caring Mr,Obama really is, especially after the cameras are turned off and he doesn't actually need you anymore:

From an interview with Donna V.:

President Obama comforted you and offered you “immediate” assistance. Since your encounter with him months ago, what has been your interaction with the White House?

After his visit, I sent an email to President Obama. Many days later, I got a response back. It was disturbing.

How so?

It had nothing to do with what I was asking him. It was a form letter. It thanked me for supporting the troops...It’s heartbreaking, really.

What were you hoping for?

When you get a hug from the President of the United States, you feel like there’s something there. A promise was made. I have two grown kids. One is a U.S. Navy diver. The other one lives at the marina with his wife and new baby, and they lost everything. But I raised my kids to know that your word is your word. You promise something, you keep it, and that was a broken promise. I’ve never been a person to expect free handouts, but the President gave me hope. But now, I just don’t know...

Makes me wonder if the press kind of misses George W. Bush, even if just a little bit.  If he sent an incorrect form letter to an old lady who lost everything she had, well....front page stories and late-night laugh-lines for weeks.

But they can't, because Barack is their boy.  Which means we'll never get an answer to the question  posed in the post header above...

My First Paycheck Of 2013...

...is down about $100, give or take (actually, it's more "take"), from my last paycheck of 2012.  That's due to the 2% increase in the payroll tax, and an increase in the cost of my medical plan (which our HR department told us bluntly was due to "costs associated with the implementation of ObamaCare").

But I'm not surprised; I was paying attention.  Liberals, on the other hand, are dumb enough to believe everything that Barack Obama tells them.  Seen at the Democratic Underground:

So sorry that you're not comfortable, NCTraveler.  Lie down with whores, though, and don't act shocked when you wake up with empty pockets.

Thus has Obama squandered his post-election goodwill.  He got his tax hike on the slight wealthy, as well as one on the middle class and poor.  Maybe if he had told the whole truth all along....Ah, but who are we kidding?

The masses are going to be pissed of today.  Which makes January 4th Day 1 in the push-back against Obama's fiscal insanity.  I wrote yesterday about how the "fiscal cliff defeat" Republicans suffered was actually quite the victory - and that the president's day of reckoning will soon be upon him:

And what did the president wind up with, at the zenith of his power? Takes hikes on folks making $400-$450K, and a total tax package of just $600B over ten years. About 37% of what he originally asked for. And while he preens about saving the middle class from a tax hike, the reality is that in 2013, every single middle-class American will see....tax hikes. Starting today, as the payroll tax jumps by 2%, taking a $150-$200 per month bite out of every working person's paycheck.

And while Obama assumes (correctly) the media will blame the Republicans for everything, Americans are not going to blame Republicans for tax hikes. The media has already worked too hard to paint the party as "obstructionists" for refusing to raise taxes even further; it would take Orwellian gymnastics to switch the story line by this Friday.

Michael Graham writes in the Boston Herald:

Well, the wealthy have met the tax-ecutioner.  So, who wants to explain to the masses that the $60 billion they’re now paying is being spent on more government programs, and will do nothing to fix the deficit or create jobs?

What happens when the 60 percent of Americans who wanted higher taxes on the wealthy figure out that this new money is going down the same old D.C. sinkhole? When they find out the “fiscal cliff” deal carved out special-interest deals for Obama supporters like General Electric, Goldman Sachs and the blowhards in the “wind energy” biz?

Even the media recognizes the failings of the cliff deal...but of course, rather than show wind turbines, happy bank execs, or smirking movie stars, they give you...NASCAR, as the enemy of the people...

So after pushing through his class-warfare tax hikes, what will Obama have to show for it, say, in November 2014?

He's gonna have an even more Republican House, and a Republican Senate.

IF - and this is a big IF - the Republicans play this to their advantage.  No mealy-mouthed bullshit today; it's time to get up and say "I told you so".  It's time to throw back in the people's face the concept they bought into last November - that they could have something for nothing.  Time to ask them how that new paycheck is working out for them.  Time to start launching some rhetorical  rockets, and softening up the battlefield for the war over the debt ceiling - a fiscal Gettysburg that will determine America's moral future.

The time to fight is today.  If the Republicans wait until the media sets the narrative, we'll lose - again...

Will Shawty Lo Deliver The Fatal Blow In The Culture War?

Shawty Lo (real name: Carlos Walker) is a rapper out of Atlanta's Bowen Homes housing project. A self-confessed drug runner and thief who spent much of 2004-'05 behind bars, Shawty founded D4L Records (with the drug money), and found some success both as a member of the eponymous rap foursome and as a solo artist.

Oh - and along the way he fathered eleven children - nine daughters, two sons - by ten different women

And for that, the Oxygen Network - partially founded by Oprah Winfrey, and whose original mission statement was to "empower women"(!) - is giving him his own reality show.

African American journalist and author Nick Chiles is apoplectic:

Surely there has to be a line out there somewhere—a level of degradation, of downright sewer-level grossness, that is so low even a television network will not sink below it to make a couple of bucks.

I would have thought that rapper Shawty Lo’s new show, “All My Babies’ Mamas,” was solidly below the sewer line, a revolting theater of ghetto indecency so embarrassing that even a desperate cable station would deem it beneath them to put it on their airwaves.

But apparently this skin-crawling mess is about to be available on your local dial, thanks to the fine folks at the Oxygen network.

The show will feature the real-life dramas of the rapper and his 10 baby mamas and their 11 children, all thrown together in a festering stew of ratchetness. Each baby mama is even given a descriptive name—such as E’Creia, 29, “First Lady Baby Mama,” who handles Shawty Lo’s finances and who was actually engaged to him at one point after he already had three children; Angela, 32, the “Fighter Baby Mama”; Amanda, 34, the “Jealous Baby Mama; Serena the “Shady Baby Mama; and Liana aka Pebbles “Baby mama from hell.”

The lovely E'Creia...

Oxygen Media Senior Vice President of Development, Cori Abraham, defends the project:

Oxygen will give fans an intimate look at unconventional families with larger than life personalities and real emotional stakes,” says Abraham. “’All My Babies’ Mamas’ will be filled with outrageous and authentic over-the-top moments that our young, diverse female audience can tweet and gossip about.”

In other words...he's putting on a minstrel show for the affluent white folks. Chiles calls it "black pathology as entertainment",  but at least he doesn't deny the pathology:

As a community, we let Shawty Lo happen.

Where were the older men to pull Mr. Lo aside and counsel him about the irresponsibility of his actions, maybe after baby number three? To make him understand the difficulties he was setting up for all those children—and himself—by his wanton sperm?

Where were the older women to counsel all those baby mamas? To start warning them after he had impregnated maybe three or four that there wasn’t much of a future with a modestly talented rapper whose career hadn’t ever really popped? That any children of theirs deserved more?

But clearly the community never stepped up. Nobody told Shawty about the existence of condoms. None of those words ever made their way to the right ears.

Did anyone tell Ashlin she's next?

We all failed those children.

So has your political party of choice, by the way. We punish hard-working married couples with additional tax burdens, in order to pay for the lifestyles of these whores and their pimp.

But it will be their children who will suffer most, with no real dad, no real opportunities...and the scars of media exploitation at a young age.

While the groups that claim to represent "black America" turn their heads...

Normally, I'd go into a rant here about needing to change the way black people vote, but I've been there and done that, to no avail. I'm not going to watch “All My Babies’ Mamas”...but I will sit back and watch the decline.

While watering down my scotch with a tear...

In Defeat, Victory On The Cliff....

Sorry - I can't get too worked up about the "fiscal cliff" deal.  Obama campaigned  - and won re-election- entirely on a platform of raising taxes on individuals earning over $200K  and couples making over $250K.  He opened the "cliff:" negotiations with a demand for $1.6 trillion in new taxes; John Boehner seemed ready to meet him halfway at $800B.

And the American people will not need Polifact to tell them that the president is full of shit (as if Polifact would ever!); their paychecks will remind them of that fact every two weeks.

Conservatives were anticipating a brutal assault post-election, and we got it.  Obama, the Democrats  and the Left-wing media establishment just threw the kitchen sink at us, and yet got very little of what they wanted. We gave some ground in the battle, and technically may have lost, but we did not surrender the city, or the people.

Look around. Tax rates are still near historical lows, and our enemies are exhausted from the fight.  And, by gum, we're still alive.

Almost...unanticipated.

Now we re-group.  Now we re-arm.  Now we fight back.  The debt-ceiling clash is less than two months away, and the time to start prepping the battlefield is today.  Now.  Lay down our markers, advance our narrative, get around the state-run media and explain what we will be doing, and why it is vital to the survival of the nation.

Let's have a plan, and let's execute it.  And win.

And will somebody please tell Chris Christie to shut the f*ck up?  The more he bashes House Republicans for not passing a bill wasting tens of billions in taxpayer money, the more I feel he is not the man to lead the cavalry's victorious charge down the hill...
