New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine (D), who has already endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton, said in a CNBC interview this morning that he may cast his vote at the Democratic convention for Sen. Barack Obama if Clinton doesn't win the popular vote.
While Corzine emphasized he still thinks Clinton will win the popular vote, he did open the door to a possible switch.
Just how egrarious of a betrayal would this be to his fellow blue Jerseyians? Well, take a look at the county-by-county map below:
Yup, that's "Clinton red" (I guess next to Obama, she is a neo-con) in 17 out of 21 New Jersey counties, with a 53% to 43% popular vote advantage, winning the state with a margin of well over 100,00 ballots. Obama's vote, interestingly, comes from counties that are either heavily black, or heavily wealthy. (An amazing dissertation on the wealth/class/Obama correllation issue can be found here)
So is that why Corzine is willing to swing his endorsement of Hillary over to Obama - so that he may sit more comfortably in the parlors of his contemporaries, New Jersey's high-income elite?
Ah, now we are getting somewhere. His governership has never been about serving the people of New Jersey; it has been about imposing the far-left values and liberal ideals held dear by Corzine - and his rich, clueless compatriots - upon the state's hapless middle class. It's about Corzine drinking champagne in the drawing rooms of the extremely wealthy, basking in the praise of the self-appointed elites as he puts their theories into practice (results be damned).
If they say Obama, so sayeth Corzine, despite the wishes of hundreds of thousands of his state's fellow Democrats.
But hey - you guys elected this lying, cheating, duplicitous clown. And you never thought he would turn on you? Don't act suprised, just bow your heads, bend over, and take it like the unwashed masses that your leaders have ordained you as...

Ironic that they are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Republican in Jersey. Royally screwed.
Yup.
Remember the parable about the frog and the scorpian? Like the frog, Jersey Dems never believed they would get stung.
Whatever decision Corzine makes, it won't be one of conscience, only expediancy.
"Corzine" and "conscience" in the same sentence? Funny!
