Who Is...Riot Dog?

Has Karl Marx returned, in canine form? For while rioting may be a Greek way of life, it seems as if there is one cadre who is tougher than most, who never misses a fight, and who refuses to back down from the riot batons.

And he's a...dog. Riot Dog, they call him:

A mystery mutt has turned up at every major demonstration in Athens for the past two years and earned iconic status.

In recent photos he is seen showing solidarity with hooded rock-throwers and barking at cops in riot gear.

"What brings him to the riots? Does he believe in the overthrow of private ownership?" an admirer asked on Facebook.

Well I'll tell you, I have plenty of issue with the anarchist ass-clowns who populate the Greek Isles these days, but I gotta give props to that pup for fighting for what he believes in....whatever that may be. And he's no johnny-come-lately to the hardcore riot scene, he's been fighting the good fight against the "dogs" of capitalism for years. Some additional pictures of this mad-dog's street cred:

In the fog of tear gas and smoldering Molotov Cocktails, Riot Dog stands tall. He's so freakin' tough, he refuses to wear a gas mask!

Riot Dog, unlike many of his human counterparts, knows when it's time to get behind some cover...

With nothing to fear from "the pound" (Riot Dog knows where the hot bitches are at!), our hero faces the Euro-cops head-on. Look at them cower before the Dog of the People!

Riot Dog won't even give the police the satisfaction of running from them, as he slowly trots back towards the front lines, while enjoying a cool, cleansing shower from their capitalistic hoses...

"I wish my dog would stand up for what she believes in," a pet-loving blogger wrote....

So many speak of the fight for freedom, so few dare to risk it all. If Riot Dog was American he'd be a Marine; Semper Fidelis, always faithful to the cause (whatever the hell it is in Greece these days), and of course, First to Fight.

Can you respect the soldier without respecting the cause? If you can, I'm a fan..of Riot Dog.

His Facebook pic and profile:

DAMN, HAVE Y'ALL EVER SEEN A DOG SO DEDICATED TO THE CAUSE? BEEN SEEN IN RIOTS SINCE 2008. SHIT, THIS DOG IS LEGIT...

Political Animals At Occupy Denver Elect The Wrong Dog...

I really thought the reports weren't serious, that is was all a joke....but it appears the folks at Occupy Denver did in fact elect a dog to be their leader.  And even stranger, they did it as some kind of protest against would-be ally/closet 1%'er Michael Moore:

...it began with Michael Moore. Stung by the documentarian's refusal to follow general assembly guidelines at his recent visit to Occupy Denver, the idea of electing a symbolic (if hairy) leader struck him as an opportune statement.

"(Moore) walked in with security and made everyone listen to him in the center of the circle with a bullhorn like he was our leader, even though he said out loud it's a leaderless movement," says Nesby, a recent Westword profile subject. He and a few fellow occupiers gathered to contradict the misconception that the group needs an end-all representative....

OK, whatever that means. I just thought they elected the smartest mammal present...

But while Shelby seems to be a sweet, kind dog, I'm not sure she really has what it takes to lead a socialist rebellion.

The Occupy Denver group should have looked to the home of whiny, needy fascists, and gotten a clue. If you are going to rebel against society with a dog at the helm, he or she had better be a...Riot Dog:

...fearless, and at the front lines...

With the troops before battle...

Leading the anarchist army through the fog of tear gas...

Not afraid of mace, baton, nor firearm, Riot Dog charges the enforcers of the status quo, as they quail with fear....

A mocking strut before his vanquished foes...

This is a protest dog.  This is a leader, with guts, brains, and apparent military acumen.

And he likely smells better than anyone at the Occupy Denver camp as well...

You Call That A Protest Dog? Now THIS Is A Protest Dog!

Via Althouse, reporting from war-torn Wisconsin, we get "Union Protest Dog":

Sorry...that is a cute cuddly lab who would rather be out chasing rabbits and playing with little children that being dragged around Madison as an attention-getter for an overweight, unattractive, union slob.

Now this...this is a protest dog.

This is....Riot Dog:

You may not agree with his cause, but you must respect the soldier...read about his exploits at the link above...

The Last Days of California

As 2011 dawns, and Americans awake much further to the right side of the bed than they have in many years, the disdain felt towards our own Greece on the Pacific has turned to disgust, and loathing.

Theories abound; we'll start with Goldfish and Clowns:

I know most everyone in the other 49 states hates California.

I also know why.

It used to be envy.

Now, it is deep burning anger at how a state once rich beyond compare has slit its own throat in the name of modern liberalism. In professing to care for all, California takes care of no one, let alone itself. And no song, no matter how dreamy or romantic about what was once the Golden State, can change the hideous truth about its rotting from within.

Victor Davis Hanson has spent much ink lately chronicling California's descent into third-worldism, and he speaks a softer truth to liberalism - the way one speaks to a wayward child:

What strikes me is not that leftism does not work, but that when it is indulged and doesn’t work, its beneficiaries scream at the unfairness of it all—in the fashion that a theorist who claimed 2 plus 2 equals 5 blames the construct of mathematics because his equation is not true.

...In short, there is no “them” who wrecked Greece, ruined California, subverted the climate change movement, sidetracked a half century of liberalism to come, or discredited mega-deficit spending.

“Them” you see is simply a shorthand for “I got what I wanted, and I am mad at someone or something for not allowing the world to become what I think it should have been..."

Ed Morrissey lays it out as a Zimbabwe, Mugabe-like disaster:

Nine of the top 10 metro jobless rates in the nation are California, and seven are in California’s Central Valley....

Why has California become the epicenter of unemployment? ....California’s Central Valley woes are entirely a government creation. As I wrote yesterday, the decision by a federal judge to cut off water supplies to an area that literally fed the world turned the Central Valley from an agricultural export powerhouse to a center of starvation within two years. Congress has refused to act to reverse this decision, and as a result, almost a quarter of the families in the area now need government assistance to feed themselves while living on some of the most productive land in the world.

Even the late
Notorious B.I.G. knew the limits of Cali:

Going back to Cali, strictly for the weather
Women, and the weed -- sticky green
...If I got to choose a coast I got to choose the East

So what's next for the once-Golden State? Do they revolt against reality, Greek-style? Will it burn to the ground, Roman-style? Will it become a giant federal penitentiary, a la Escape From New York? Or, given the extensive freeway system, does it just go all Mad Max/Road Warrior?

Well...let's just say if riot dog shows up, we know we're in for a helluva ride...

Free Speech in South Park

Will it take two drug-crazed Hollywood cartoonists to finally teach America to fight our coming dhimmitude? From this past week's episode:

In the South Park episode, Fox's animated sitcom The Family Guy is planning to air an episode where the Prophet Mohammed makes a cameo appearance. Family Guy is an animated sitcom, meaning a Prophet appearance would be -gasp! You guessed it- a Mohammed cartoon. The townsfolk of South Park barricade themselves into the village community center, fearing an American repeat of the violent Muslim response to the Danish cartoons. Only after a news report airs the following morning that Fox made a last minute decision to censor Mohammed do they emerge from their makeshift fortifications....

Here is the "Family Guy" scene, via Newsbusters:

Lois: But, Peter, I don't want to cook dinner for you ex-girlfriend.
Peter: Well, maybe we can just have tea.
Brian the Dog: You mean like the time you had tea with Mohammad, the prophet of the Muslim faith?
Peter (to censored Mohammad): Come on, Mohammad, let's get some tea.

And the money quote, from a citizen of South Park:

Freedom of speech is at stake here, don't you all see? If anything, we should all make cartoons of Mohammed and show the terrorists and the extremists that we are all united in the belief that every person has a right to say what they want. Look people, it's been really easy for us to stand up for free speech lately. For the past few decades, we haven't had to risk anything to defend it. One of those times is right now. And if we aren't willing to risk what we have now, then we just believe in free speech, but won't defend it.

It is a two-parter - will Comedy Central allow the second part, or will they censor it in fear of Muslim retribution?

Note that South Park has had a number of episodes with "religious themes" - the one where Jesus (who has his own cable access show in South Park) gets the crap kicked out of him by Satan in a boxing ring comes to mind; as well as all the constant anti-Semitism hurled at Stan, or Cartman's donning of a brownshirt and a brush mustache after seeing "Passion of the Christ" (and getting its "real meaning"). Not to mention "Team America", which is populated by Islamist terrorists (OK, Islamic puppet terrorists, but still...) muttering 'Muhammed, Muhammed, jihad, durka dukra jihad Muhammed" under their breaths for a full ninety minutes.

The Catholics and Jews didn't riot over these earlier South Park episodes; and no Muslims protested over 'Team America", although maybe that's because they didn't know yet that they were supposed to be offended...

Will our freedom of speech suffer in order to please the radical Islamists? Stay tuned; you'll know on Wednesday, April 12th, when part II is "scheduled" to air..

Update: Lots on this tonight -
Captain Ed claims its a gag, and there is no "part two"
The Political Pit Bull has a clip
And of course, Miss Malkin has a roundup...

Update II:
For some dark laughs, look at the comment thread at Ummah Forum entitled "South Park Jews attack the Prophet "
...and remember, " Matt Stone one of the creators of SP is a JEW"!
Sigh...keep telling yourself it is a Religion of Peace...

UPDATE III April 14th
