Nah, I'm just kidding. The president is hiding out today, doing nothing to celebrate the signature legislation of his tenure as president. Maybe that's because there are no adoring throngs lined up to chant, "thank you Barack!". This president doesn't do so well unless he is propped up by teleprompters and true believers; and being that Americans are now demanding the repeal of Obamacare by a lopsided 56%-39% margin, one would understand why he is laying low today.
You'll learn to like it.
That's the message from White House advisers and Democratic lawmakers to Americans opposed to the health insurance overhaul signed into law last week.
What is Obama feeling today? Unappreciated? Confused, perhaps, that Americans still do not understand all he has done for us? Enraged, perhaps, at our ingratitude?
I'd bet on the third. Which worries me, as this is man who does not love his nation or its people.
Well, they are celebrating in the People's Republic of California. Although even our favorite sunshine socialists are seeing some storm clouds on the horizon.
Road bumps to reform have included bureaucratic tangles as Medi-Cal patients are moved into managed care plans to hold down costs as the program’s coverage expands. And questions are cropping up over whether there are enough doctors, nurses and technicians to provide care to millions more who will gain coverage under the law.
And Sen. Ed Hernandez, D-West Covina, said he’s held hearings over the issue of having a workforce adequate to care for 6 million people who are likely to be newly insured in 2014.
“We are going to have a huge access problem,” he said, especially in rural and inner-city areas. “We need to make sure that there is going to be a workforce that is going to see these patients.”
Too bad that workforce doesn't exist, and will be hard to coax into existence, as medical work will soon become government work.
Sound familiar? It's because Obama counted on imaginary alternative fuels to power America, and being that they didn't actually, you know, exist, gas has risen to over $4-/gallon, with no ceiling in sight. What do you think is going to happen to health care?
And you wonder why his whereabouts are unknown today?
