For all of those who worship at the feet of The One, who declare his every word to be full of meaning and worth a lifetime of study and reflecting - well, parse this: Obama's comments after the free nation of Iraq held an uneventful, run-of-the-mill Democratic election, hithero unheard of in the 12th-Century backwater that is most of the Middle East:
US President Barack Obama has praised Iraq's provincial elections as an "important step forward" for the future of the country.
"This important step forward should continue the process of Iraqis taking responsibility for their future," Mr Obama said in a statement after millions of Iraqis went to the polls to elect councils in 14 or Iraq's 18 provinces. Security for the country's first ballot since 2005 was extremely tight, with Iraqi police and military deployed in force, and Mr Obama praised the technical assistance by the United Nations and other organisations to Iraq's electoral commission, which he said "performed professionally under difficult circumstances."
And who did our Great Wordsmith not give credit to, or even mention, in his statement? Why, the over 130,000 American troops currently serving in Iraq, who have created democracy in this once-pariah nation with their blood and toil, and whose presence was they key in helping these election go smoothly.
So why no shout-out? Is Barack Obama still a hate-filled radical lefty at heart, unable to admit American troops are capable of anything except evil? Or is he still stung that his stance against the surge, that made this day possible, was so positively, absolutely wrong, and is unable to face up to this error in judgement?
Either way, dangerous and ugly characteristics to be present in the Commander-in-Chief of the American military...

Did I miss the part where he acknowledged President Bush?
Apparently, to The One, history did not start until noon on January 20, 2009.
What have we wrought?
