Ayn Rand was right!

The age of the skyscraper is gone. This is the age of the housing project. Which is always a prelude to the age of the cave.

-Gail Wynand to Howard Roark, in Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead

Now, we go to once-great Britain, where Rand's backward progression continues apace:

As I contemplate the drive back to London, wondering whether it will take three hours, five hours, or if I should have set off yesterday, I can see why flying is becoming so popular. It's an alternative to the horse and cart view of the future.

Whether this is the way that [Mr Darling] thinks transport in this country should develop, heaven alone knows...

Ah, Ayn was so prescient....
