The Seventh Night of Hanukkah: Hot in Sderot

On the seventh night of Hanukkah, under smoldering candles of many colors, we find Israeli model Miri Bohadana, born in Beer Sheva, Israel but raised primarily in Sderot.

Sderot? Sound familiar? It should:

The city has been an ongoing target of Qassam rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip. In March 2008, the mayor said the population had declined by 10%-15% as families left the city in desperation (aid organizations say the figure is closer to 25%). Many of the families that remain cannot afford to move out or are unable to sell their homes.

Sderot, less than a mile from Gaza, has been the target of Palestinian rocket attacks that have killed 13 residents, wounded hundreds, caused millions of dollars in damage, disrupted daily life and wreaked havoc on the local economy. According to MSNBC, "nearly everyone [has been] traumatized by the frequent sound of air-raid sirens and explosions of incoming projectiles". All local schools have been fortified. From mid-June 2007 to mid-February 2008, 771 rockets and 857 mortar bombs were fired at Sderot and the western Negev, an average of three or four each a day

The last rocket attack on Sderot occurred in November 2009. According to the AP, Sderot has reached a period of relative calm.

Yeah, but what the AP fails to mention, apparently, was that Israel invaded Gaza back in December....

So let's put a face on those miserable Zionists of Sderot, shall we? We'll go with...Miri's face:

No wonder the nation of Israel stood tall in her defense....

World Stunned As Terrorist Fails To Keep His Word

If you recall, the smart, compassionate, and oh-so-much-smarter-than thou liberals that run Scotland decided to release Lockerbie bomber, Abdel Baset Ali al-Megrahi, this past August and allowed him to return to Libya. On the condition, of course, that he checks in with a member of the local Scottish town council with twice-monthly phone calls. The terms of his release also called for him to remain at his home address or at the hospital where he is being treated, both in Tripoli.

Surprise, surprise:

Libyan officials could say nothing about the whereabouts of Abdul Baset Ali
al-Megrahi, and his Scottish monitors could not contact him by telephone....Richard Baker, Labour’s justice spokesman in the Scottish Parliament, said the whole affair was turning into a shambles and putting Scotland’s reputation at risk.

Maybe you should have thought about that before you allowed the scorpion to ride on your back to freedom? Apparently, this has been going on since the moment of his release, which appears to have been obtained under
false pretenses as well:

Megrahi has been less than cooperative with Scottish government officials since his release – [ Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny] McAskill suggested at the time that the terrorist had just three months to live because of the advanced stage of his cancer. As far as the rest of the world knows, however, he's still alive four months later.

Alive, and gleefully giving the finger to the West, having gotten away with mass murder by playing on the sympathies of liberal simpletons.

Speaking of which, maybe Barack Obama can take a hint here in his dealings with Iran? Oh, that's not necessary, I'm sure, because he's smart, compassionate, and oh-so-much-smarter-than us....

So a polar bear walks into a climate change conference....

...and all hell breaks loose....

To a chorus of boos, a man dressed as a polar bear entered Copenhagen's main conference center Tuesday and began paging the discredited climate scientist whose hacked e-mails sparked the Climate-Gate scandal.

Using a megaphone to pierce the rumble of hundreds gathered inside the Bella Center, which is hosting the city's global climate summit, the polar bear boomed out:

"PHIL JONES??? HAS ANYONE SEEN PHIL JONES???"

While no one in the highly partisan crowd attacked the bear, one woman advised him to "get out of here now while you still can."

Some Hanukkah Honey For The Sixth Night

Ah, the annual festival of Israeli hotness, Hanukkah...the sixth night burns bright with the flame of Israeli supermodel Sari Givati...

How crazy-hot is Sari? Hot enough to ply away Kylie Minogue's longtime paramour back in 2007....

Here's why:

Ah, sweet Zionists...

(more Hanukkah treats here, here, here, and here... OMG! Here too...)

The RHINO Taunts The Hunter....

Arnold Schwarzenegger mocking Sarah Conner - ah, sorry, Sarah Palin? He's begging for a bullet up the ass...

Schwarzenegger, in Copenhagen for the U.N. climate change summit, questioned the motivation behind Palin's recent op-eds blasting the Obama administration's cap and trade policy, equating her position to a publicity stunt.

"You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish?"
Schwarzenegger told the Financial Times in an interview. "Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the (Republican presidential) nomination? You have to take all these things with a grain of salt."

Knocking Sarah, and supporting Obama...that's what
big dumb RHINOs do, I suppose....

Schwarzenegger also took what appeared to be a veiled shot at Palin on ABC's "Good Morning America" Tuesday, dismissing her calls for Obama to boycott the talks in Copenhagen.

"I think there are people that just don't believe in fixing and working on the environment," he said. "They don't believe there is such a thing as global warming, they're still living in the Stone Age, which is OK, we need people like that, too," he said.

Sarah in the Stone Age?? Don't mock the hunter with the sharpest spear....

Schwarzenegger told ABC that world policymakers do not have to choose between a clean environment and economic growth.

"We've proved that over and over again in California," he said.

What? Dude - California is a failed state, overrun by illegal immigrants and welfare recipients whose ability to get services for free is hampered by a fleeing population and a smothering regulatory system -primarily, but not entirely, environmental - that is choking the ability of new businesses to open, operate and contribute to the economy.

If you've proven anything, Arnold, it's that your type of clean environment is a job killer, a state killer, and potentially a nation-killer.

Well, Sarah knocks this steakhead down to size:

Why is Governor Schwarzenegger pushing for the same sorts of policies in Copenhagen that have helped drive his state into record deficits and unemployment? Perhaps he will recall that I live in our nation’s only Arctic state and that I was among the first governors to create a sub-cabinet to deal specifically with climate change. While I and all Alaskans witness the impacts of changes in weather patterns firsthand, I have repeatedly said that we can’t primarily blame man’s activities for those changes. And while I did look for practical responses to those changes, what I didn’t do was hamstring Alaska’s job creators with burdensome regulations so that I could act “greener than thou” when talking to reporters.

Didn't this economic terminator learn anything about messing with women named Sarah?

...time to go RHINO-hunting....

Liberals Kill 1,200 Jobs, Pat Themselves On Back

One would think a proposed shopping mall offering over 1200 full-time jobs plus another 1000 construction jobs in an area with a 13.4% unemployment rate (welcome to the Bronx, baby!) would be welcomed with open arms, with politicians falling over themselves to help out and take credit for the revival of a horrific neighborhood.

But we are talking about liberals here. So expect none of the rules of sanity to apply. The project was killed while politicians crowed about their part in slaughtering the project.

How did the Democrats (with some help from the unions) help keep the residents of the Bronx enslaved by poverty? With selfishness,
stupidity, and adherence to unworkable liberal ideology:

Don't tell the City Council and their union puppet-masters that a job is the best social program. They prefer welfare, thank you very much.

That's the only conclusion to be drawn from the job-killing decision by the council to reject a development plan for a vacant Bronx armory. After failing to negotiate a mandate that all retail jobs on the Kingsbridge site pay at least $10 an hour plus benefits, pols pulled the plug on the $300 million project, most of it to be privately financed.

Gone are 1,000 construction jobs and 1,200 permanent ones. In a borough where the official unemployment rate is 13.4 percent, that's a scandal.

It's also a stuck-in-poverty mindset. As Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. proudly crowed: "The notion that any job is better than no job no longer applies."

Maybe not in The Bronx, but in the real world, any job is definitely better than no job. Especially when the only legal alternative is welfare.

Nobody gets rich on the minimum wage of $7.25, but most of the jobs would have paid more, some far more. But it's a losing bet to believe retailers would agree to a mandate that they must pay more than nearby competitors.

Indeed, studies show that requiring any wage leads to fewer jobs being created.

Yet common sense was the first casualty. The talks got so loopy that one idea was to have the city subsidize wages to bring them up to the $10 level.

That the idea was seriously discussed reflects how deeply the entitlement culture is embedded in New York. Nothing moves without a government handout.

....So now nobody gets anything.

Well, not quite. The city, which spent $30 million on the armory's roof and other improvements and planned to sell it to Related, gets to keep an empty building and annual maintenance costs of $1 million.

Some people dare call that a victory.

And they're called Democrats. And this mentality is now firmly ensconced in Washington, DC.

And New York taxpayers will now foot the bill for an empty armory, and will foot the bill for continued unemployment insurance and welfare benefits for the mall's would-be employees, while the city will lose out on millions of dollars in tax revenue that would have been generated from the mall, via sales taxes, payroll taxes, and and the increased purchasing power of an extra 1200+ people. All this, while New York will likely raise taxes on the few remaining working folks in the city to cover this and similar messes.

And the liberals declare victory, just as they are about to on health care reform and cap & trade.

God help us all....

"Is That Candle Wax Dripping Or Are You Just Happy To See Me?"

We are always happy to see tonight's Hanukkah Hottie - the "Fifth Candle" in our celebration of amazingly hot Israeli women - Miss יעל בר זוהר‎ , also known as Miss Yael Bar Zohar.

The Israeli actress, model, and singer ( a triple threat!) out of Tel Aviv threatens to melt my menorah into molten metal...

The one above -with the cognac and black lingerie and the limo - for me acts as the final proof that there is, in fact, a God who loves us....

(more Hanukkah treats here, here, here, and here...)

Is Hate-Based Science Better than Faith-Based Science?

You don't need to ask the New York Times, as one can see the spittle sprayed across the pages of this article by John Allen Paulos, a professor of mathematics ("gasp! a professor! let us bow to the High Priest!") at Temple University.

His venom is directed at the female gender, who are apparently not smart enough - or maybe just too emotional - to understand the deeper nuances of the recent announcement by the government task force that mammograms are now "unnecessary" until age 50 or so (depending on prevailing economic conditions, I suppose).

Let's sample some of the professor's statement, just to get a feel for the oozing contempt he has for the female of our species:

Applying it to the contention that more screening is always better leads us to note that if screening catches the breast cancers of some asymptomatic women in their 40s, then it would also catch those of some asymptomatic women in their 30s. But why stop there? Why not monthly mammograms beginning at age 15?

Did anyone suggest that? Ever? So why is our esteemed professor putting words into the mouths of the female gender?

More ugliness:

The arithmetic may be trivial, but the answer is decidedly counterintuitive and hence easy to reject or ignore. Most people don’t naturally think probabilistically, nor do they respond appropriately to very large or very small numbers. For many, the only probability values they know are “50-50” and “one in a million.”

Get that? Your small mind can only conceive of two numbers; you need to rely on folks like him, or the government, to explain what everything else means. Don't worry, we'll use small words, in the meantime just go back to your reality-TV and middle class squalor...

Hey - just relax, says our esteemed mathematician - the truth is you're going to die anyway; all early screening does is give you the perception that you're going to live longer:

Since we calculate the length of survival from the time of diagnosis, ever more sensitive screening starts the clock ticking sooner. As a result, survival times can appear to be longer even if the earlier diagnosis has no real effect on survival.

He gives no evidence that the earlier diagnosis has no effect on survival; but one can guarantee that at least some of those diagnosed early have their lives saved. To those folks, the survival rate is 100%. In other words, regardless of methodology, early mammograms do create a longer and higher survival rate. Perceptually speaking, the "death rate" from breast cancer will increase, and the survival time will shorten, under socialized medicine. Is this the type of story the Times wants to tell about health care reform?

This nasty article also shows what happens when you take the interpersonal relationship of the doctor and patient and insert a bureaucrat - or an ivory-tower math professor - into the middle. Your life becomes "statistically insignificant". Tell that to the kids who will have to grow up without a mother, so that the Democrats, liberals, and the media can feel better about themselves by "reforming" health care.

One wonders - if we were talking about testicular cancer, if the good professor would be so sanguine....

Hanukkah Hottie #4: The Best, "Bar" None?

From the Israeli town of Hod HaSharon to Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover girl, may we present the fourth curvaceous candle of Hanukkah, Miss Bar Refaeli (or בר רפאלי, if you please).

Recently split from Leonardo Di Caprio, she's currently on the market, but one would assume you would need quite the sackful of shekels to court the fair Jewish maiden. Nevertheless, we give her to all of you as a little present on the fourth night of Hanukkah:

Somewhere between the girl next door and crazy hot swimsuit model lies Bar Refaeli ...you wouldn't think such a girl exists, but the evidence is right before you.

And only from The Promised Land....
(Check out The First Candle, The Second Candle, and the Third...which is still a bit hot to the touch...)

Obama's Self-Awarded B+: How Steep Was the Curve?

...because that's a high grade to give to someone who, as chief executive of the United States, has overseen the following:

-Another 3 to 4 million jobs lost, and the unemployment rate rising from 7.6 percent to 10 percent.
-In ten months, the national debt has risen from $10.6 trillion to $12 trillion.
-We're not sure the housing market has hit bottom;
loan-modification programs aren't working.
-Trade disputes with
China, Canada, South Korea, Mexico, Panama and Colombia . .
-Iran ignoring our efforts to reach out, and bloodily smashing a pro-democracy movement.
-Israel furious, and the Palestinians as stubborn and unyielding as ever.
-Khalid Sheikh Mohammed coming back to the Big Apple.

-Average retail price of gasoline rising from $1.86/gallon to $2.61/gallon. (and this one drives me crazy, incidentally. When Bush was president, every time the price of gas moved up a nickel there was a hue and cry from the media on how painful it was for the average working schlub. This increase here costs the same schlub approximately $800/year over 2008. And this is before cap and trade...)
-A stellar cabinet of Tom Daschle, Bill Richardson, Nancy Killifer, Van Jones, Kevin Jennings..

Can I add deteriorating race relations and frozen job markets (due to concern about what wacky scheme Obama will pull on us next) to the list?

The nation is still standing; for that I guess he gets a passing grade. But it stands as a nation that is much poorer, not just today but for the next 20 years, and a nation that is about to become much less free, should Obama's prized health care reform and "cap & trade" environmentalism pass into law. It is a nation who is having is envied economic engine pulled out from underneath it by a dispassionate president, a president who would rather quit than fight, who would rather give away his people's wealth than defend its very existence, as well as the morality that made it possible.

A B+? Well, only if he looks at the above, and still feels he hasn't quite finished the job he has so clearly set out to do....

Barack Obama, Pigeon at the County Fair

Isn't that the word used by the Carny's for their "mark" - the easy patron who will fall for the scam hook, line, and sinker, and be parted from his money and sent on his way before he knows what hit him?

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Barack Obama, the pigeon at Copenhagen, The One they have been Waiting For, the mark who will quickly have his (our) pockets emptied and sent on his befuddled way, while the enviorn-mental-ists laugh all the way to the bank:

COPENHAGEN -- In climate negotiations here, America is the Big Con.

If the rest of the world can just get us to fall for this swindle, they'll win everything.

America will pay billions more to smaller countries around the globe and agree to stifling restrictions that will hobble the very industries and personal freedoms that make the nation the envied success it is today.

Why did the Carnys of the Left hate George W. Bush so? Because the Texas cowboy was no sucker at the County Fair; he knew which games were rigged, and not only steered clear of them, he called them out. No con man likes to be exposed to the public; and only by eviscerating Bush's intelligence could leftists, and environmentalists, still maintain any kind of sense that their game was still clean.

But now it appears the only ones left who think they can really get the ring around the bottle are liberals; as they are running through all of their money (and ours) buying bucket after bucket of plastic circles, sure that the next toss will win them the big-screen TV dangling oh-so-close...

And the biggest liberal of all, Barack Obama, is coming to the fair with pocketfuls of other people's cash, while cooing, clucking, and flapping his wings. The Carneys of the Left rub their hands and smack their lips in anticipation, as the biggest mark in the world -a "hammer-sqash" - comes strutting cluelessly into the fair, about to be butchered at the flat...

As I will be heading out shortly to continue my 72 hour, non-stop Hanukkah Weekend Holiday Party Marathon, I thought I would introduce tonight's "Hanukkah Hottie" a bit early...

May I introduce Miss Adi Himelbloy, Israeli model and actress? We'll go with three pixs, in honor of the third night....and let me tell you something, boys and girls: This body is most definitely Kosher for Hanukkah:

"Green Light for Genocide"

From today's New York Post, a review of Giles MacDonogh's 1938: Hitler's Gamble - which relates the numerous opportunities the Germans, and the world, had to stop the madness before it began - includes the following bit of historical trivia which bears some consideration:

Another missed opportunity occurred in July 1938, when 32 nations met at Evian, France, to discuss the Germans’ inhumane treatment of its Jewish citizens. Yet not one resolution condemning Germany for creating thousands of Jewish refugees emerged — a fact the Nazi Party pounced on for its own propaganda. Historians later called that meeting “Hitler’s green light for genocide.”

One wonders if we are not doing the same today. The British call Israel a "
pariah state" and plans to brand certain Israeli products (with a yellow star?). Barack Obama de-legitimizes Israeli leadership by refusing to meet with them. The UN approves the Goldstone Report, charging Israel with war crimes for having the temerity to fight back after thousands of rockets are fired into their backyard. Jew-haters such as Stephen Walt are given free reign in major newspapers (better than Sarah Palin, no?) Even the radical liberal Jews who make up the heinous J-Street - more interested in currying favor with the current administration than saving their own sorry skins - opposes sanctions against Iran.

And what of Iran? While the nation
boils with unrest, and a possible military coup is in the making, Barack Obama - he of the Nobel Peace Prize - and the remainder of the West, remain silent.

Just as the West remained silent in 1938.

And Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - he of the "There was no such thing as the Holocaust, but boy-oh-boy give us another sixteen months and we'll show you a Holocaust!" is a man who certainly knows a green light when he sees one...

Hanukkah Hotties - Night #2

Night two of our Hanukkah festival of Israeli Hotness brings us award-winning actress Meital Dohan, best known for her recurring role in season 2 of Showtime's Weeds. Since it's the second night, we'll give Miss Dohan two pixs for which to shine her beauty upon us:

What a gift to find under the menorah....

Night one is here...

Cameron's Avatar Is Out For Himself

Director James Cameron speaks on his upcoming blockbuster Avatar, and the lesson he's trying to impart to the proletariat:

“I see it as a broader metaphor, not so intensely politicised as some would make it, but rather that’s how we treat the natural world as well,” the Canadian-born filmmaker said.

“There’s a sense of entitlement — ‘We’re here, we’re big, we’ve got the guns, we’ve got the technology, we’ve got the brains, we therefore are entitled to every damn thing on this planet’,” he said.

“That’s not how it works and we’re going to find out the hard way if we don’t wise up and start seeking a life that’s in balance with the natural cycles of life on earth.”

Who's "we", James? Certainly not "you". Regardless, Simon Scowl over at
Deceiver rips Cameron a Titanic-sized new one:

Is there an industry with a bigger carbon footprint than moviemaking? That flick cost something like $300 million to make. How many “natural cycles of life on earth” did it disrupt in the process? How much evil, evil carbon dioxide was produced? How many continents’ worth of mango trees would you need to plant to make up for it? Why is it okay for James Cameron to devote whole rooms full of energy-sucking computers — and the Red Bull-sucking nerds in front of them — to creating photorealistic cat people, but I get a lecture when I leave my cell phone charger plugged in?

It’s not enough to be rich and famous if you’re not somehow “relevant.” Whether it’s Prince Charles or Al Gore or Leonardo DiCaprio or any of these other guys, they all have the same message: “Hey, I deserve to live like this. Now shut up and shiver in the dark, you peasants.”

Yup, that's about right. And you can be assured if either cap & trade passes, or the EPA takes "command and control" of the economy, folks like
Lisa Jackson will still be flying first-class while we try to saddle up our mules for a trip to town...

And in other unintentionally hilarious "climate change"
news:

Riding his bicycle to Copenhagen, Australian warmy Kim Nguyen was hospitalised three times, ran out of food and spent all his money:

The aim of his journey was to promote sustainable travel.

Maybe he ought to have taken his magic carpet - you know, the one Barack Obama is going to provide to every American once he fulfills his promise to raise the price of gas to unaffordable levels...

And that's why
this is no surprise:

52 percent of adults think global warming isn’t happening or is happening mostly because of natural patterns while only 43 percent think it is due to human activity.

Nothing - NOTHING - is more enraging to the elites than the realization that their intellectual inferiors have been right all along...no wonder they are going off the collective deep end...

The Nazis Finally Defeat Great Britain

...and as Barack Obama knows, the only way to defeat a once-great democracy is to destroy it from the inside...

The yellow star that the Jews were forced to wear under Nazi occupation is
coming to Great Britain:

The British government has issued an official recommendation urging business owners to mark Israeli products produced in West Bank settlements so that consumers who want to boycott such items will find it easy to identify them.

The recommendation is not binding, but this step marks an escalation in the country's attitude toward Israel's settlements.

According to the new guidelines, the British government recommends indicating whether the product was made by Palestinians or Israeli settlers on the label of every product originating from the West Bank.

The government recommendation goes further to say that labeling a product from a settlement as having been manufactured in Israel would be considered a criminal offense as it is misleading to the consumer public.

The British press, with glee,
credits Obama and warns Israel:

Most importantly for Israel political leadership is the realisation that Brown’s government is acting as the messenger boy for the Obama administration, which has replaced the unconditional indulgence of the Bush years with a discomforting tough-love approach.

Brown, Obama and the EU are now actively working that groove to apply pressure to Israel’s political mainstream to cut loose the settlers, rethink the Jerusalem situation, ease the Gaza blockade, and eventually revisit the two-state solution – or face the future as a pariah state.

"A pariah state". No, we're not talking about Iran, which promises a second Holocaust, or Pakistan, the new home of terror, or the murderers of Sudan. We are talking about a tiny democratic state surrounded by multiple dictatorships , both secular and hardline Islamic.

The Nazis have returned; some wearing a headdress, others smiling blandly and wearing the starched blue-and grey suits of the government official. But their spirit is back, and still lusts for the blood of the Jews. And apparently, there are plenty that are willing to honor that spirit by spilling it on the streets.

Remember, too, that Barack Obama looks upon this, and sees no wrong...

"That is not a baby!"

...or so Planned Parenthood tries to tell you. Hey, there's a consensus on that, and after all, there's $350 million/year in government money to be made in the abortion game!

You decide...the video below was made undercover by Live Action, a UCLA student group.

Lila Rose, the 21-year-old UCLA student and Live Action president, says medical lies and manipulative counseling are routine at Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion chain."

They will do or say anything in order to sell more abortions to more women, whether it is covering up sexual abuse or lying to women about medical facts," says Rose. "Our team has visited dozens of Planned Parenthood clinics undercover. Planned Parenthood, while claiming to support patient self-determination, operates with an 'abortion-first mentality.'"

The video is the first in Live Action's "Rosa Acuna Project," a multi-state undercover audit documenting Planned Parenthood's abortion counseling.

Take a look:

In the undercover video, when the two women ask a Planned Parenthood counselor if the pregnant woman's 10-week-old unborn child has a heartbeat, the counselor emphasizes "heart tones," and answers, "Heart beat is when the fetus is active in the uterus--can survive--which is about seventeen or eighteen weeks." On the contrary, embryologists agree that the heartbeat begins around 3 weeks. Wisconsin informed consent law requires that women receive medically accurate information before undergoing an abortion.

The counselor then says, "A fetus is what's in the uterus right now. That is not a baby." Dr. Prohaska, the abortion doctor, insists, "It's not a baby at this stage or anything like that." Prohaska also states that having an abortion will be "much safer than having a baby," warning, "You know, women die having babies."

The video comes one month after the widely reported resignation of Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson. Johnson left her leadership position at Planned Parenthood in Bryan, TX after watching a 13-week old fetus being aborted in her clinic on ultrasound. She said during a recent interview, "Planned Parenthood really tries to instill in their employees and the women that are coming in for abortions that this is not a baby." In another interview, she noted, "They don't want to talk about when your baby has a heartbeat," because "they don't want to give the woman information that could give her a connection with her baby."

Bravo to Miss Rose for her valiant effort here. And thank God for the younger generation, more cynical and tech-savvy then their teachers and parents, who seem driven to shine a light on the hypocrisy and abuses of the system.

May they thrive. And may Planned Parenthood be cut off from federal funding for this horrific deception...

Barack Obama: "I'm Dr. King, Dammit!"

The narcissist-in-chief has gone to Oslo, insulted the natives, and gazed in the reflecting pool, and has seen...more of his own greatness:

Referring to the photographs of previous winners on the wall behind him, the president said, "when you look at the wall -- Michelle and I were commenting on the fact that when Dr. King won his price it had a galvanizing effect around the world, but also lifted his stature in the United States in a way that allowed him to be more effective..."

A modern-day Martin Luther King, our president is. His heart searing to do economic justice by destroying his own nation's wealth, to engender world peace by disarming his citizens, and to combat mother nature by sending the world back to a medieval economy.

Perhaps he believes the Nobel Peace Prize will give him added heft back home. Hmmm....when 80% of the population feels you did not deserve the damn thing, how do you figure that waving it in America's face will raise your stature?

Perhaps a quote by Dr. King is appropriate here:

Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity

America Cries Out: Where Have You Gone, George W. Bush?

Yeah, OK, I've been saying that since November of 2008. But it seems as if the American people are getting on board with the Jerseynut...Public Policy Polling (the only one who called the NJ governor's election right, incidentally) has this somewhat surprising report:

Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama's declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they'd rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that's somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country's difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore....

Spot-on commentary from Jen Rubin at...Commentary:

It’s only when presented with an “un-Bush” — the elite, Ivy Leagued cool guy who made media pundits swoon like schoolgirls — that the public, it seems, has come to appreciate George W. Bush: the decider, the man who teared up in the wake of 9/11, the president who frankly couldn’t stand the Israel and America bashers at the UN, and the conservative who may have frustrated conservatives with insufficient frugality but who understood and appreciated the limits of the federal government. Bush’s stalwart position on the war on terror (pro–enhanced interrogations, anti–Guantanamo closing) is shared by a majority of voters.

This, on top of yesterday's news that Sarah Palin, polling at 47%, is essentially tied in popularity with Barack Obama, who may soon see a 47% approval rating as a good day. (Incidentally, the URL on the LA Times story is http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/11/not-that-it-matters-politically-because-shes-a-republican-idiot-and-hes-a-democrat-geniusbut-sarah-palins-poll-numbers-are-c.html? Not quite sure how to read that....)

So the media's top 2 Public Enemies, top 2 Idiots, top 2 targets of Irrational Hate, are now virtually just as popular among the American people as their Holiest of Holies, Barack Hussein Obama. And one wonders why the media has been tuned out like some crazy homeless person ranting from a milk crate in a subway...

Seems like Mr. Obama is on the wrong side of the American public on virtually every policy issue:

Voters disapprove 52 - 38 percent of the health care reform proposal under consideration in Congress, and they disapprove 56 - 38 percent of President Obama's handling of health care, down from 53 - 41 percent in a November 19 survey.

And:

....roughly a third of the people who believe in global warming think it is due to natural causes, rather than manmade causes such as industrial emissions. As a result, the number who say that global warming is caused by humans has dropped from 54 percent last summer to 45 percent now.

Well, I am sure that once the government seizes the medical profession, and after Barack Obama gives aways billions in taxpayer dollars at Copenhagen, and after Congress, via the EPA, creates a command and control economy, the president's approval ratings will skyrocket.

Well, that's what the media is telling him, anyway. But if you take the advice of a deranged homeless person, screaming to the emptiness about the unfairness of the universe, well...don't be too surprised at the results...
