Expect to hear that line resonating from MSNBC tonight, after Mubarak says something politely that we all no intuitively: Barack Obama is one clueless motherf*cker. Talking comfortably to the MSM's #1 Muslim mouthpiece, Christiane Amanpour, the beleaguered strongman spoke carefully, and honestly:
While he described President Obama as a very good man, he wavered when I asked him if he felt the U.S. had betrayed him. When I asked him how he responded to the United States' veiled calls for him to step aside sooner rather than later, he said he told President Obama, "You don't understand the Egyptian culture and what would happen if I step down now."
"He wavered" means to me that Mubarak bit his tongue and gave the most diplomatic answer he could. We who understand can read between the lines, and weep....
But how will the media respond to a Muslim leader calling out Obama on his naivete? Looking forward to a virulent two-minute hate on the Egyptian leader, now that he has called out The One...
Update: Played for a sucka:
The president and the military, have, in sum, outsmarted the opposition and, for that matter, the Obama administration. They skillfully retained the acceptability and even popularity of the Army, while instilling widespread fear and anxiety in the population and an accompanying longing for a return to normalcy....the regime cleverly elicited the population’s desire for security. While some of that desire was filled by vigilante action, it remained clear that the military was looked to as the real protector of personal security and the nation as a whole. Army units in the streets were under clear orders to show their sympathy with the people.

It is clear that Mr. Mubarak has a point. I am listening to the radio and its very clear that the message againt intervening in the affairs of Egypt and the further Mid-East is affirming an isolationist sentiment that paleoconservatives should be ready to be vocal about. I do not get the impression that this weblog is drastically not a neoconservative weblog; but i bid you and your readers enlightenment.
Wow! Jared? Is that you?
