You would think that the Democrats - and the president's top advisers, no less - would be smarter than to throw their last ounce of credibility behind a protest movement that is somewhere in between a urban rave and a post-adolescent temper tantrum, but...no.
This is the vanguard of the liberal revolution:
Meet Dave the druggie, on the lam from the police:
Wanted for burglary, the drug-addled fugitive said some of his hard-partying pals clued him in that the protest was a good place to be fed, get wasted and crash.
I’ve been smoking and drinking in here for eight days now,” said Dave, booze on his breath and his eyes bloodshot as he lay sprawled on a tattered sheet of cardboard. “I need to get some methadone. Every day, I wake up, and I’m f–ked up.”
Drugs can be easy to score — a Post reporter was offered pot for $15 and heroin for $10.
They’ve already fueled at least one violent incident, when a wasted nut job socked a medical volunteer in the face before others hauled the attacker away.
But what's drugs without the sex? And without the free condoms...
What's the matter, ladies? Aren't getting enough attention at home, or maybe everyone on campus knows you too well to get too close?
And we finish with losers:
On Saturday morning a 23-year-old man named Zachary was rushed to hospital after drinking a combination of liquor and cough syrup.
He stopped breathing and was rushed in a serious condition to Downtown Hospital.
...and secret police:
The leaders of the protest are furious at the manner in which it has been hijacked and have set up a make-shift internal police to stop the debauched behaviour.
'We want to make sure everyone is here for the right reason,' Ricky Torres, 23, who is part of the security unit, told the New York Post.
Do the Democrats really believe these people will help them usher in victory in 2012? Or maybe it's all about bringing about something else entirely...
