Well, Obama confidant Van Jones is gone, resigned to resigning when even a compliant media offering a news blackout couldn't keep the heat off of him and his ugly past/present. The Washington Post, having written zero about the controversy, finds someone to blame:
Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck all but declared war on Jones after a group the adviser founded in 2005, ColorofChange.org, led an advertising boycott against Beck's show to protest his claim that Obama is a racist.
But reporters peppered the White House with questions about Jones after the blogger Gateway Pundit reported Thursday that in 2004 Jones had signed a petition circulated by the group 911Truth.org about the 9/11 attacks.
Big congratulations to Jim Hoft ( God forbid the WaPost should actually name a conservative blogger), who's living the dream right now.
Behold the power of the conservo-sphere, which, in light of a media which hasn't enforced such a code of silence since John Edward's baby mama came forth, was still able to root out and force the resignation of a dangerous radical given a key position in the administration. After having to hear so much about the influence, intelligence, and alleged dominance of the media's favored lefty bloggers, it is about time we see some recognition (albeit begrudgingly) of what the Right can accomplish with the same tools.
Not to mention, of course, the obligatory blame of FOX News. Well, I guess here we learn that one shouldn't f*ck with Glenn Beck; seems like the WaPo and varies liberals are shocked that someone would dare fight back against a racially inspired boycott. And perhaps the Post should get back in the business of exposing the malfeasance of government - instead of working to cover up its flaws in order to maintain a position of influence. Then it might get kudos for eradicating public officials with radical backgrounds. Of course, if the Post agrees with those positions...well, nothing spells death for a media publication more than being out of tune with its customers...
On that note, here's something enlightening from the AP:
Conservatives have harshly criticized him [Jones] for having left-wing political views.
Well, if being a 9/11 "truther" is considered by the AP (and apparently the rest of the media) as nothing more than a "left-wing political view", then I think Jim Holt, as well as the rest of us, have a lot more digging to do on the backgrounds of Obama's remaining key advisers.
NBC too, sees no fault with Jones in this headline: Obama Aide Van Jones Resigns After GOP Attacks .
The New York Times sees this as a "Republican victory" - yes, America suffers when a cop-hating, Jew-baiting, racist communist gets booted for public office. They also let slip that Obama's czars to not go through a "normal vetting process". Hmmm....
We've got work to do, folks, especially now that the media has turned its back on the responsibilities it has held since the American Revolution.
One czar down, another 31 to go...
Oh yes, he was perfect in every way, it was just that GOP attack machine viciously going after him for no reason. (LIE, just like everything that comes out of Obama's mouth)
