The economy added 146,000 jobs, better than expected if still a status quo result, and the jobless rate declined to 7.7%... However, the work force declined again and drifted back to generational-low numbers. The number of unemployed persons, at 12.0 million, changed little...the seasonally-adjusted labor force dropped by 350,000, and the civilian labor force participation rate also dropped two-tenths of a point to 63.6%, almost at the 31-year low hit in August. The employment-population ratio dropped by one-tenth of a percent to 58.7%.
In other words, America isn't going back to work. Americans are still dropping out of the work force.
And why shouldn't they? In Barack Obama's America, it literally pays better not to work. Once the taxed-to-death suckers realize who they're carrying, they'll drop out of the work force too, and contracting businesses - losing customers left and right - will not rehire. Eventually we'll be down to a few jobs available, with a few people employed. Walla! 100% employment, just like Stalin always promised.
Of course, at that point, there won't be any money left to support a nation of layabouts, lollygaggers and louts. Oh, well...the collapse will be fun to watch...
Economic cues incentivizes behavior, all right. Funny how liberals tout that when wanting to hike fees on cigarettes, gas, and soda, but conveniently forget it completely when creating a state based on financial reward for the unproductive.
Reality will return shortly, to remind us all that economic laws - like laws of physics - can occasionally be mutated or broken, but only to horrific effect.
