The "Cairo Speech", And Obama's Iran Policy...

That horrible piece of oratory is making the news again, and being re-examined in the new light of the events of the past week.  But it's this bit where there president has been amazingly consistent:

I understand those who protest that some countries have weapons that others do not. No single nation should pick and choose which nation holds nuclear weapons. And that's why I strongly reaffirmed America's commitment to seek a world in which no nations hold nuclear weapons. (Applause.) And any nation -- including Iran -- should have the right to access peaceful nuclear power if it complies with its responsibilities under the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. That commitment is at the core of the treaty, and it must be kept for all who fully abide by it. And I'm hopeful that all countries in the region can share in this goal.

He hasn't kept to a promise so studiously since he told us that under his energy plan, "electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket"..

Maybe my fellow Jews should digest this, along with their Rosh Hashanah meals this evening, and use their vaunted intellects to decipher exactly what the president is saying here.  And while you are in synagogue, pray the words of Ayn Rand don't come back to haunt you:

“You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.”

To all, a happy New Year. Let's hope it's a good one. Without any fear....
