In case you didn't hear yourself get insulted by Barack Obama yesterday (video at the link):
"I mean, there are a lot of things we can do," Obama said. "The way I think about it is, you know, this is a great, great country that had gotten a little soft and, you know, we didn't have that same competitive edge that we needed over the last couple of decades. We need to get back on track."
VodkaPundit slaps him down the way one would an insolent child:
In 2008, we elected a man who promised us “a net spending cut,” a guy who would go “line by line” through the budget with steely eyes under his green eyeshade and trim Washington down to the bone. We elected — we thought we elected — a tough man to do a tough job. Who is soft, Mr. President, the electorate who went crazy for the tough guy, or the president who broke his promises while refusing to make a single tough decision about spending
There is, of course, another American. That’s the America of public sector unions and the professionally aggrieved and Wall Street and tottering big businesses. They’re the ones crying for bailouts or wailing that they might have to pay a little more than just a couple percent of their own health benefits. They’re the ones hurling insults, and generally behaving like small children who have been spared nothing but the rod — and for a very long time.
That’s your America, Mr. President. Those are your supporters. They’re the people your political future depends on. And they’re the reason — you are the reason — the rest of us have had to become as hard as nails.
But maybe Barack Obama is lucky we are not "harder" than we already are. If we were, he and his avaricious, rapacious wife would be locked away in a tower somewhere, awaiting a show trial, while authorities chased down his former cronies (on the run with the taxpayer's money) and a new regime set things to right...
UPDATE: Jonah Goldberg is pissed, but the point I get is that we had it coming:
Seriously, in 2008 we elected a community organizer, state senator, college instructor first term senator over a guy who spent five years in a Vietnamese prison. And now he’s lecturing us about how America’s gone “soft”? Really?

So This Is What A Parasite Looks Like...
Ironically, she is somewhat well-spoken, well-informed, and presentable. But she has used what wits she has to game the system and live entirely off the efforts of others.
Someone you might certainly hire for the right type of job. But our video starlet knows better:
“I mean, who would wanna work in America? This is what the taxpayers are paying for..."
Watch it, and weep:

Somebody Tell Michelle Obama That Target Doesn't Sell $42K Bracelets...
Awww...Michelle Obama, so wrongly painted as a modern-day Marie Antoinette, is really just one of us middle-class proles after all! Look, here she is shopping at Target ! It was only coincidentally that there happened to be an AP photographer present to snap her folksy photo...
I'm surprised, actually. I didn't realized Target had moved so upscale, and now sold bracelets valued at more than an average working man's salary - these are priced at approximately $42K:
I didn't know they sold Loree Rodkin earring either. Because her jewelry usually runs anywhere from $5K to $300K. That's some serious income redistribution....
And I'm not sure about the bottom of her two diamond bracelet cuffs in this photo, but the top one alone has been valued at over $17,000:
But hey - she's one of us! That is, if you picture Americans as under-worked, overweight looters who rape the taxpayers so as to jet around the world covered in ill-gotten bling....
Which is probably exactly the way Michelle Obama sees us...

A Rosh Hashanah Lesson For Liberals...
But first....Walter Russell Mead notices something that's missing in the aftermath of the highly unusual East Coast earthquake - centered just south of our nation's capital - last August:
A month has passed since the Virginia earthquake and it looks like the Washington Monument is going to be closed indefinitely until a team of engineers can check every stone....
The other Washington landmark significantly damaged in the earthquake was the National Cathedral, the magnificent stone church where many important national commemorations and funerals are held. The highest of its stone towers were toppled, and there, too architects are checking for structural damage.
In ancient times, the damage to two unique symbols of national identity by something as rare as an East Coast earthquake which did little or no damage to more pedestrian and less symbolic structures would have been highly noteworthy. We would be rending our garments, consulting the Sibylline books and repenting in sackcloth and ashes after so a clear a demonstration of divine wrath.
These days we do nothing at all. No doubt this is much more progressive and intelligent. After all, there is absolutely nothing going on in Washington or the country at large that could cause anyone or anything to warn us to mend our ways....
Related - something that was read during this morning's Rosh Hashanah service out in Jersey:
Many have said to the works of our hands: You are our gods! Strange, then, to see the emptiness in those who cast You out. Strange to see the agonies of our time grow more numerous and more intense, the more our worship centers on ourselves. Strange that men and women grow smaller without You, smaller without the faith that You are with them....
The left, with their incessant self-involved navel gazing, has declared themselves to be the new gods, with the government as their virtual temple, and we as humble sackcloth-wearing petitioners, awaiting direction. But the people grow weary of the high priests, as their nation writhes with greater pain with each passing day, despite the blithe assurances of the Temple-keepers.
And some folks are beginning to realize that a higher power - one much greater than their newly-proclaimed deities - has awoken, and is trying to warn them of the wickedness of their ways, before utter ruin descends upon them.
But their leaders - with wisdom deeply steeped in the unshakable knowledge procured by daily deep readings of the New York Times - keep repeating, like a prayer, that the signs are meaningless, and only repetition of the same rituals (taxing and spending and taxing and spending) can truly set us free. All who dare think otherwise are knaves, fools, idiots, rednecks, and racists...
I wonder if this is how it felt in Sodom, and Gomorrah, the day before the fire and brimstone fell from the sky...

Sarah Palin's Rosh Hashanah Message
Via her Facebook page:
L'shanah tovah! Happy New Year!
~by Sarah Palin on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 6:37pm.
We wish our friends in the Jewish community a shanah tovah u'metukah – a happy and sweet new year!
Rosh Hashanah is the time for new beginnings and, for me personally, I’ve always considered the new season as providing an opportunity for clear thinking about priorities.
God bless our Jewish friends, and may Israel be blessed with peace and strength as she continues to innovate and prosper and befriend our own great nation.
May this new year be filled with manifestations of our respect for our ally Israel and our nation’s Judeo-Christian foundations.
- Sarah Palin
Thanks, Sarah. Didn't see a similar message on Obama's page...only hoary requests to buy cheap goods plastered with his re-election insignia...
You know...some say that Sarah Palin loves the Jews more than the Jews love themselves...

No, Governor Bev Perdue Was Not Joking....
..when she called for the suspension of national elections due to the economy. After all, we know too well that underneath every so-called "Democrat" is a fascist, dying to get out from under their disguise so as to be able to finally impose their will on those who simply don't know what is right for them.
Sometimes they do slip out:
“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover,” Perdue said at a rotary club event in Cary, N.C., according to the Raleigh News & Observer. “I really hope that someone can agree with me on that.”
The media covered for her, claiming she had spoken tongue in cheek, while Perdue’s press team began claiming it was a joke.
Here's the video, the call for fascism begins near the 30 second mark. Note she is not laughing before or after her comments, nor does she pause for a crowd response, normal for a public speaker telling a joke.
Either way, Democrats calling for the cessation of democracy for a "limited time" need to be called out, not covered up by a disgraced media. So they can be tarred and feathered, as in the more righteous days of old...

One Poll Tells You Why Christie Can Win It All...
...and it is a local one, released Tuesday:
A new Fairleigh Dickinson U. survey released today found 54 percent of Jersey voters approving of the pugnacious governor’s performance. Only 36 percent disapproved.
His job performance jumped ten points since May.
Christie’s approval increased after he signed a controversial new law to rein in pension and health benefit costs for government workers -- over the objections of powerful public employee unions.
Christie also scored points for his hands-on management of the state’s response to Hurricane Irene last month.
Funny coincidence - the percentage of New Jersey voters who are registered Democrats is...36%. Meaning his "base" (what little there is in New Jersey) is in line, along with the majority of the independents. How significant is that? Ask Ann Coulter:
“[Y]ou have to judge governors from very blue states, from union control, corrupt left-wing dark blue states on a curve and you want to look at much more what they do and not what they say and Gov. Christie is the most right-wing and socially right-wing governor New Jersey has ever seen,” she said. “And an awful lot of this stuff just gets lied about.”
Coulter also noted Christie’s attacks on former New Jersey Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine for supporting in-state tuition for the children of illegal immigrants, an issue that is currently plaguing the presidential campaign of Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
More conservative than Rick Perry, yet loved by independents? So what is the amount of registered Democrats nationwide, somewhere around 33% - 34%? So if Chris Christie takes two-thirds of the popular vote - as he currently seems to own in a state once called "Blue Jersey" - how many electoral votes will that equal?
And imagine how Chris Christie would govern when he actually has a legislature that hails from the same party as he does...

Barack Obama: The Eternal Emotional & Intellectual Sophomore
Richard Epstein does an stunningly effective line-by-line takedown of Barack Obama's "American Jobs Act", also known as "Porkulus II", "Stimulus Jr.", and "The Obama Re-election Bill". But it's his point about Obama's thought pattern - becoming more and more obvious - that hit home:
This bill, he [Obama] said, will "put more people back to work and put more money in the pockets of working Americans. And it will do so without adding a dime to the deficit." How? Why, by closing "corporate tax loopholes" and insisting that the wealthiest American’s pay their "fair share" of taxes.
What is so striking about Obama’s shopworn rhetoric is its juvenile intellectual quality. His explanation for how the AJA will create jobs is a non-starter because he does not explain how we get from here to there. As in so many other cases, the president thinks that waving a wand over a problem will make his most ardent wishes come true, even when similar earlier efforts have proved to be dismal failures.
That's pitch-perfect. Obama is a juvenile intellectual, whose thought process never got past the tired cliches of the college-aged wanna-be socialist rage. No wonder liberal journalists nod sagely at the president's words, no wonder the netroots swoon when he descends into class-warfare anger and dime store revolutionary sloganeering - he is talking to them at their level of comprehension.
The Fountainhead gave us the character of Ellsworth Toohey - one of Rand's most prescient creations, a smooth-talking socialist, perhaps most comparable to Barack Obama (Having no true genius, Toohey's mission is to destroy excellence and promote altruism as the ultimate social ideal....He falsely styles himself as representative of the will of the masses...) - who says, while sneering at the common man, "The sound perception of an ant does not include thunder."
One can certainly say the same about the perception of Barack Obama, as well as his followers.
Quite honestly, if the president wants to feel at home, amongst his emotional and intellectual equals, he should be here in New York City, "occupying" Wall Street with his own kind. The ones the New York Post describes as over-educated, undermotivated yuppie larvae... urchins....anarchist wannabes...

"Occupy Wall Street" Protesters Feel God's Wrath
...at least, according to the New York Post:
God created pepper spray to remind overeducated, undermotivated yuppie larvae that when a cop says “move on,” it’s usually best to move on.
About 80 urchins from the ongoing Wall Street whine-in failed to get the message over the weekend, and presently found themselves in custody on disorderly-conduct charges.
Along the way, some protestors were pepper-sprayed. This put The Times, which just hates it when cops do their jobs, into a swivet -- but normal New Yorkers seemed scarcely to notice.
Organizers had promised to bring 20,000 energized anti-capitalists to Lower Manhattan when the protests began at mid-month, but only a couple of hundred showed, and they’ve taken to squatting in a nearby park on Broadway.
The stated intent was to bring an Arab Spring-like moment to Wall Street, but the scene more closely resembles a sleep-over camp for anarchist wannabes -- complete with snacks, pillows and arts and crafts.
It all adds up to not much of anything, except for the pepper-spray moment.
Still, the protests are a drain on the NYPD’s resources, so it’ll be all to the good when the Downtown drifters finally depart.
They can take their pretensions with them.
Ouch....

Rick Perry: An Honest Supporter of Israel, and The Jews....
...unlike a certain Johnny-come-lately who really felt he didn't need to speak about Israel and the Jews, at least not kindly. That it, until they showed him that they knew how to pull a voting lever with an "R" next to it...then, he got all lovey-dovey. In a stupid kind of way.
But Rick Perry has been there for the Jews for some time. I wrote earlier about a mezuzah store in Texas that created a special, extra-large version named in honor of the governor for his work in passing a law preventing condo boards from banning the traditional doorway ornament. Of course, there is also the support he gets from his former gubernatorial rival and notableTexas Jew, Mr. Kinky Friedman. But I found this video to be instructional as well:
Rick Perry is authentic. Authentically uncomfortable, to be sure, dancing with the rabbis at the 5:00 minute mark. But he is honoring the Jewish tradition from within the Governor's office, a nice touch in a state so often tied closely with Christian conservatism.
Why did he go to such lengths, prior to his national election campaign? Certainly, one cannot call it pandering, as Perry in no way needs the "Jewish vote" to win in Texas. But - if I were to allow myself a guess - I would believe Perry is doing it because he understands that this country was built on Judeo-Christian values, and to dishonor one is to shame the other. It is a vision of how Perry would govern - trying to reach out, trying to understand, and thinking more of the whole than in dividing the parts and turning them against each other. In other words - he'll fulfill Obama's broken promise. Crazy, right?
Two final thoughts - Jen Rubin reports from an AJC survey:
The GOP contender who would do best against Obama with Jewish voters is Mitt Romney, who gets 32 percent of the vote in the survey and drags Obama down to 50 percent (from his 78 percent in 2008). Texas Gov. Rick Perry got 25 percent, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) got 19 percent and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie got 26 percent.
25% isn't a terrible starting place; I believe that number has serious upside. Especially if American Jews ask themselves the important questions:
It comes down to this: do you prefer a president who doesn't believe in evolution, or do you prefer a president that doesn't believe in Israel?
Need a Jewish celebrity endorsement? We can provide that as well:

KISS bassist Gene Simmons declared on Twitter that he's team Rick Perry.
Last year the metal man said he regretted voting for Obama and called him “unqualified.” Now, he’s ready to rock our for the Texas gov. “I voted for Pres Bush. I voted for Pres Clinton. I voted for Pres Obama. The next president will be Gov Rick Perry,” he tweeted on Tuesday. He followed it up with “Gov Perry worked for Al Gore and then switched to Republican. He will be our next President. I've never been wrong.”
Barack Obama Has Got Jews On His Mind....
Two interesting comments made by the president during his speech to the Congressional Black Caucus (the now-infamous "STFU and get in line behind me" speech)...
The first is a story he told invoking the faith of biblical Jews in their God as a type of analogy for the faith he expects the black community to have in him:
Obama opened the speech by mentioning the Biblical story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, three captive Jews who were thrown into a fiery furnace because they would not worship a golden idol. Obama quoted a pastor who referred to the three men as "good crazy" for having that faith. He added that the pastor had attributed the same "good crazy" to him when he decided to run for president.
Obama continued that analogy, equating the Jews' "faith in the things not seen" to the more mundane "belief that if you persevere a better day lies ahead."
Hmmm.... a true god should not have to beg for worshipers, they usually come to receive the bounty promised for their fealty and perhaps due to the fear of his might wrath as well. And since Obama's promised cornucopia of goodies has failed to materialize (except for a few well-connect high priests), and his threats have proven empty, the whole thundering "I am the Lord Thy God!" thing is a bit ineffective here.
But back to the Jews. A bit of a slip here, as reported by the Daily Caller (video at the link), during the class warfare section of his speech:
“When you start saying, at a time when the top one-tenth of one percent have seen their incomes go up four or five times over the last twenty years, and folks at the bottom have seen their incomes decline, and your response is that you want poor folks to pay more — give me a break.
“If asking a billionaire to pay the same tax rate as a Jew — as a janitor — makes me a warrior for the working class, I wear that as a badge of honor.”
I can't even define this as any kind of insidious, antisemitic slip, so I won't. The most likely explanation is that the teleprompter blinked and burped for a moment, or that he simply had - based on his opening sermon about biblical prophets - Jews on his mind.
I'll go with the latter. Innocent, really. But telling. Obama might talk about Israel very now and again, but he doesn't often talk about Jews. Seems like he has been talking a lot about both lately. And all it took was for this once-solid electoral group to show him that their votes cannot be taken for granted.
For the CBC, and for blacks nationwide, there is a lesson there. If you really want something done, go to your next local Tea Party rally. That will make the president sit up and take notice. And perhaps - just perhaps - you might see some of the appeal of an alternate ideology to the one you have given your vote to so many times, with so little in return.

Obama Tells Blacks To STFU
Or, perhaps better, "Things a White Politician Can't Say":
Obama's speech to the annual awards dinner of the Congressional Black Caucus was his answer to increasingly vocal griping from black leaders that he's been giving away too much in talks with Republicans -- and not doing enough to fight black unemployment, which is nearly double the national average at 16.7 percent.
"It gets folks discouraged. I know. I listen to some of y'all," Obama told an audience of some 3,000 in the Washington convention center.
"Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes," Obama said, his voice rising as applause and cheers mounted. "Shake it off. Stop complainin'. Stop grumblin'. Stop cryin'. We are going to press on. We have work to do."
Can you imagine if a white president said this to a black audience? The lynch mob would be out in force, wit every grievance-monger, liberal analyst, and scared RHINO calling for the white man's head. But because Obama told the blacks to STFU, and get in line, it is OK. What next? Kudos to Barack for calling the CBC "My n*ggers"?
And a word to my fellow (black) Americans: When Barack Obama says "We have work to do", he means you have work to do. Because he doesn't do that work thing. From Ron Suskind's new inside-the-White-House book "Confidence Men", we read a tale of a meeting between the president and his advisers, where Barack floats some sort of insane nationalization of the banking industry:
Obama wants to restructure sagging banks for $700 billion, to “begin to change the reckless behavior of Wall Street.”
“Look,” Obama said with evident frustration. “I’m going to get a haircut and have dinner with my family. You’ve heard me. When I come back I want this issue resolved.”
And with that, he walked out...
Seems like he doesn't even do any thinking for himself, either. Better think twice before marching a mile with this guy; at the quarter-post, he's gonna stop and demand you carry him. Share and spread the burden, and all that...
UPDATE 9/26: Maxine Waters seems to find Obama's language towards blacks a bit "curious", as well...

Awesome: NYPD Delivers A Good Old-Fashioned Hippie Ass Whompin'...
"We're seeing an absolute erosion of our civil rights," said 23-year-old student Patrick Bruner of the Occupy Wall Street movement.
"....We had no weapons, just our voice.
"....This is my first protest to fight against the ruthless corporations."
Oh, jeez, this shit again? At least the hippies of the '60's were railing for handouts during a relatively prosperous period. These douches are demanding "redistribution" during a never-ending recession, one exacerbated by a president who shares their ideology.
And while these videos below were posted as proof of the "atrocities" of the NYPD, looks to me as if the officers on the scene were simply intent on nipping a protest-turned-violent in the bud. And if some 21st-century hippies have to get face-planted in the concrete to make that intention clear, well...that's not a bug, that's a feature.
Like this punk. "Arrested for talking to a cop!" is the title, but you can see "Sam Quinn" at the 5-6 second mark pushing against the cop, and confronting him again seconds later. This ain't Great Britain, pallie:
Now here, the, ahem, "peaceful" ladies doth protested too much. And were clearly pushing back against the police. Scream all you want, girls, but you had that face-full of Mace coming...
Oh, Eric Cartman, where are you when we need you?
(Stone and Parker's commentary here is priceless, by the way...)
And if the title of this post sounds familiar, well, yeah..it's a quote from another law officer who knows how to use his baton, Chief Clancy Wiggum of Springfield:
...Chief Wiggum notices Lou spinning in a chair, laughing and holding a bottle of juice.
Wiggum: "Lou. Lou! Are you all right?"
Lou: "The electric yellow has got me by the brain banana."
Wiggum: "I ... see."
[Wiggum grabs the bottle from Lou, dips a fingertip into the juice, and has a taste.]
Wiggum: "My God, it's nothing but carrots and peyote!"
Eddie: "Damn longhairs never learn, Chief."
Wiggum: "It's time for a good old-fashioned hippie ass-whomping!"
Sorry, I'm having too much fun with this one...Wiggum has a long history of animosity towards hippies...
“That’s right. She’s got the ‘munchies’ for a California cheeseburger.” – Chief Clancy Wiggum

Mary Frances Berry: Baseless Accusations Are OK - Against The Tea Party
Mary Frances Berry is a Professor of American Social Thought and Professor of History at the University of Pennsylvania. But more to the point, she was, for 13 years, the Chairperson of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. She has been awarded the NAACP's Roy Wilkins Award, the Rosa Parks Award of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and the Ebony Magazine Black Achievement Award. She is one of 75 women featured in "I Dream A World: Portraits of Black Women Who Changed America." You get the idea...
One would think a person of this "stature" would decry racism in all of its forms. Well...you would be mistaken. MFB does have a use for fascism, and she proudly admits it: As an accusatory tool against one's political enemies, even if said accusation is without merit or truth. When asked if branding the Tea Party as racist will work, she answered thusly:
Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.
Granted, she answered the question as asked. But there is no rancor in her tone, no questioning of the usage of what she admits is a false accusation, and no thoughts about whether the charge of racism should be wiedled as a political weapon.
Odd that these thoughts don't even occur to her, a women who has written two books with the word "Justice" in the title. It appears as if Mary Frances Berry has quite a different interpretation of the word than you or I do. Seemingly, she believes that if it takes lies, smears, and witch hunts to achieve her political ends, then those tactics can be defined as "just".
One wonders what she would call the same maneuvers were they used by a political adversary.
But that is liberalism, I suppose. Ends justifying the means. Just ask Barack Obama, who seems to live by MFB's definitions. Alas for them they are poisoning the well for the next generation, for whom the cry of racism will be just another cry of "Wolf!", regardless of its veracity.
I feel pity for Mary Frances, more than anything else. And sadness for the young who will come of age into the mess she and other liberal academics - again, including the president - have made of our nation...

Reese Witherspoon: Defender of The South!
Has Hollywood finally gone too far in their portrayal of Southern Americans as a bunch of ignorant, backwater racists? With the release of Straw Dogs - a remake of a movie originally set in in England, but recast and reset in Mississippi - they may have finally crossed the line.
Rape, murder, violence, and general mayhem - it's ironic that most of that takes places in urban America (think Los Angeles) and yet filmakers seem to want to set it anywhere but (perhaps so as not to destroy the illusion of blue-state perfection), and often choose places where they wish to believe racism and hatred is still hale and heary, despite lack of any supporting evidence. Usually, and in tune with Hollywood's overall intellectual laziness, they go the easy route, and set their vilest films in the Deep South, assuming that most Americans believe - as they do - that "Red States" are hotbeds of all that is dark and disturbing within our souls.
Well, for one, James Earl Jones is done with this crap - via the San Diego Reader:
...director Rod Lurie's remake of Straw Dogs is under fire from no less a personage than Darth Vader himself, James Earl Jones. Jones, who hails from Arkabutla, Mississippi, tweeted "@Straw Dogs' portrayal of MS as pervert hick backwater - bigoted much? #BoycottStrawDogs."
In a prepared statement, Jones argued that "Like many states in the South - indeed, like many states throughout America - Mississippi is not without its problematic elements. But the constant, unremitting media portrayal of Southerners and the South in general as a kind of moral and intellectual landfill is simply unconscionable. My good friend Morgan Freeman has a restaurant in Clarksdale, and it doesn't matter how many times he shows up on the Food Network or in the pages of Bon Appetit, he still can't get friends from Hollywood to stop by. They're too spooked by their own pernicious portrayal of our home state. Enough is enough."
And look who jumped on the bandwagon:
Sweet Home Alabama star Reese Witherspoon has weighed in: "@JamesEarlJones: the South will rise again! #BoycottStrawDogs."
Reese is from New Orleans, so maybe she knows the sting of the stereotype better than most. But it is interesting to see a young Hollywood starlet use a boycott "hash tag" in reference to another movie. Could get her in trouble out West. Guess she doesn't give a spit. Maybe she's a big fan of James Earl Jones. Or Morgan (gack!) Freeman.
Or maybe she is just sick to death of ignorant Hollywood folks - insulated whiners who lead incredibly segregated lifestyles - slagging the South for crimes not committed.
Either way, Reese is our Babe of the Day, as well as a living tribute to RS McCain's famous blogging theory known as Rule 5:

Don't Be Fooled: Obama Still Hating On Israel
No matter how hard he tries, Barack Obama keeps allowing the mask to slip. Yesterday, he spoke on a conference call to some 900+ rabbis, mostly of the Reform variety (preachin' to the choir, again). While boasting of his commitment to Israel, he made his faux pas:
Asked about the instability in Egypt and what the U.S. can do to ensure Israel's safety, Obama indicated that a re-ignition of the peace process could cool down the region.
"The most important thing we can do to stabilize the strategic situation for Israel is if we can actually resolve the Palestinian-Israeli crisis because that's what feeds so much of the tumult in Egypt," Obama said. "That's what I think has created the deep tension between Turkey and Israel and Turkey has historically been a friend and ally of Israel's. That's why we think direct negotiations are so critical."
And there we go again. Anything that goes wrong in the Middle East is Israel's responsibility. Not the fault of an Egyptian nation that has actually gone backwards since the pharoahs, not the fault of a new Turkish PM who has decide it will be he, not Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whom will lead the coming Islamic worldwide Caliphate. Not the fault of a Syrian dictator who slaughters his own people, nor the fault of an Iranian madman who is rapidly builing nuclear warheads, or even the gang of out-and-out thugs who control Gaza. No - according to Obama, all the Middle East's problems lay at the feet of the region's only democracy and smallest nation, the Jewish state.
Is there any surprise that most Jews see Obama's sudden conversion to staunch supporter of Israel - conveniently taken right after they handed him his head in NY-9 - as a cynical ploy, a head-fake, an attempt by a con man to hawk his dubious wares? Forget walking the walk, he can't even talk the talk without falling flat on his face...
And Bill Clinton is no better. He won't blame Israel as a nation, but like Obama has a deep seated hatred of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he now accuses of "killing" the peace process. If his harridan of a wife does decide to mount a primary challenge to Barack Obama, or take up the scepter of the throne should he abdicate, she'll have to answer for her husbands misguided hatereds, as well as her own...
The Democrats are the party of antisemitism. So deeply ingrained it is, especially within their educated elites, that their leadership cannot disown it without simultaneously falling back on it.
Amazing, absolutely amazing...

Elizabeth Warren: A Poison To The Body Politic
She's an Obama fave, a liberal darling, and she's running against Senator Scott Brown in Massachusetts, the man who might be Public Enemy #1 in the liberal nation: The Republican who usurped the "Kennedy seat".
This video is making the rounds today, as well it should, because it speaks volumes to who Warren is, and what liberalism is:
“I hear all this, you know, ‘Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever. No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own — nobody.
“You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police-forces and fire-forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory — and hire someone to protect against this — because of the work the rest of us did.
“Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea. God bless — keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is, you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.”
What riles me here? I can parse it line-by-line, but let's just do the Top Four most offensive things spoken by Elizabeth Warren in this two-minute clip:
"You built a factory out there? Good for you." Note how she sneers at the achievement she can never equal.. The Harvard elitism oozes from her open pores, as she showers disdain upon the people who create the jobs that she can only theorize about. Without the factory owner, where would his employees work? Warren can't say. That's reality, not theory. Not in her realm.
"You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for." Well, actually, didn't the factory owner pay for them as well? And based upon the current taxation rates, didn't he likely pay more than most of the folks- including Warren - that use those roads? But I want to be clear, Ms. Warren - if road usage is based on who pays the most for them, you'd better grow a pair of fucking wings.
"You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory — and hire someone to protect against this — because of the work the rest of us did." Well - maybe you can ask the folks at Gibson Guitars about that. Turns out that these days, more often than not the "marauding mobs" are government agents, swooping in and emptying factories based on arbitrarily and perhaps inaccurate enforcement. Of course, there are other taxpayers who also don't get protection from mobs - say, Republican lawmakers, particularly those in Wisconsin, who are threatened by union leftists as the taxpayer-supported police departments turn a blind eye. Seems like the more the government raises in taxes, the more dangerous they become.
"God bless — keep a big hunk of it". How much of our own money do you really think Elizabeth Warren will allow you to keep? Do you think, when she's done divvying up your cash to every basket case and lobbyist and "green entrepreneur" who has his hand out, that there will be a "hunk" left for you? Or will Miss Warren return to you a morsel, and declare it to be a feast, and you to be an ungrateful bastard?
The Weekly Standard notes that there is no way they can possibly overstate how excited liberal 'netroots'
are about Warren's speech. And that should be no surprise. Behind their alleged love of their fellow Americans is their hatred of their fellow Americans. And Elizabeth Warren is giving them a moral basis for a declaration of war on anyone who does not agree with their socio-economic worldview. Now, under the Warren Rule, if the hidebound producing class is still resistant to paying higher taxes, we have the right to extort it from them, for their own good as well as the good of the nation. Anyone opposed is a traitor. And you know what happens to traitors...
No wonder they love her.
The Nazi party had Alfred Baeumler , Alfred Rosenberg and Martin Heidegger. The American Left has Elizabeth Warren.
The only question is what the people of Massachusetts will do with her.
2012 is going to be brutal....

So How's That "Smart Power" Working Out For You?
Why...it's working out just fine!
If you are a third-world, third-rate despot who hates America.
A little update on the international scene as we awake this morning via The Weekly Standard's weekly update:
The Middle East is on the verge of conflagration, with an ongoing Iranian nuclear weapons program, a belligerent and assertive Turkey, a desperate Syria, civil war in Libya, a state collapse in Yemen, deteriorating conditions in Egypt, and anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism on the rise. Meanwhile, the keystone cops at the White House are scrambling to avert a unilateral declaration of Palestinian statehood at the U.N., and Obama is pulling out troops prematurely from Iraq and Afghanistan.
I'm not finished. The eurozone may be coming undone. America looks like she's giving up on East Asia by denying Taiwan weapons, criticizing the Taiwanese opposition, and cutting defense. And then there are all the other nasties: Kim, Putin, Chavez, Castro. Can't forget about them.
Obama's answer? A tax increase of more than a trillion dollars and doubling down on Obamacare.
Funny that some "centrist" Democrats are fetishizing about a Hillary Clinton primary run against the president. She's secretary of state, and coined the phrase "smart power":
Hillary Clinton vowed to restore American leadership through a "smart power" mix of diplomacy and defence today as she appeared at a Senate hearing for confirmation as the next US Secretary of State.
Signalling a shift away from the militarisation of US foreign policy under President Bush, Mrs Clinton said: “We must use what has been called smart power – the full range of tools at our disposal. With smart power, diplomacy will be the vanguard of foreign policy.”
And more recently:
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton defended the U.S. response to crises in Libya and Syria on Tuesday, saying the Obama administration is projecting "smart power" by refusing to act alone or with brute force to stop autocratic repression in the two countries.
Hmmm...I am not so sure if the "Clinton gambit" is as smart as some on the Left think it is. Then again, these were the same folks that sold us "smart power", "smart energy", smart diplomacy", and Barack Obama...
It would be right if brawn could outright might. But usually it takes a combination of both. That's a reality Barack, Hillary, and the Left close their eyes to, while repeating over and over like a voodoo chant, "smart power smart power smart power smart power..."

Quid Pro Quo, Mr. Buffett ?
Barack Obama presents Warren Buffett with the Medal of Freedom - the highest civilian award in the United States - back in February, 2010.
And in a completely unrelated story:
Billionaire U.S. investor Warren Buffett will help raise money for President Barack Obama's re-election effort at a $35,800-a-ticket fundraiser next month in Chicago, an Obama campaign official said on Wednesday.
Buffett will attend the Oct. 27 event at a private home on Chicago's North Shore that is expected to include major donors to Obama's 2008 presidential run. The Democratic president, who is not expected to attend, is running for re-election in 2012.
Can't be seen with billionaires, you know. But you can take their money. How much is a Medal of Honor worth? Warren Buffett has already sold his immortal soul to the president to possess it, but our eternal existence is a mere intangible to men like Barack and The Billionaire. It's time for Warren to show Barry O the money, and it seems as if he is dutifully carrying out his Master's orders.
Not sure which is more disturbing: Obaama's use of the Medal of Freedom as a leash around the neck of what was once one of the world's most powerful men, or to see Buffett take to it so willingly, without even the look of agony in his eyes so common to the man forced to act under duress.
They debase each other, and in a way, debase us all.
(wait - weren't we always at war with billionaires?)

Wait...I thought the UN was established to prevent this type of thing....
Via Israelly Cool:
Iranian ambassador to Egypt Mojtaba Amani, when asked, "What is the position of Iran on the palestinian demand of the United Nations that Palestine become an internationally recognized state?"
“We see the need for the return of any inch of Palestine to his companions, but we support it and consider it something positive and necessary, and if requested by the Palestinian government officially recognized, this right of their rights must be respected, especially that this request is a step to wipe out Israel.”
Well, he's honest, at least. But we need to list the nations/states/leaders who do vote for Palestinian statehood, and remember they are doing so with full awareness that they are willingly taking part in, shall we say, a new "Final Solution" of the Israeli/Jewish problem....

Late Night Comics Ripping On Obama...
...and if you've lost Jay Leno, you really have lost Middle America:
President Obama introduced his $447 billion jobs plan. A lot of economists say it could work — if we had $447 billion.
–Jay Leno
After saying the jobs bill is paid for, President Obama now says that it will be paid for by raising taxes over 10 years. I can’t figure out if he’s the kind of guy who makes infomercials, or the kind of guy who falls for infomercials.
–Jay Leno
The Democrats lost a seat they’ve held in New York since the 1920s. The White House said, “At least President Obama created one new job.”
–Jay Leno
And it ain't just the Crimson Chin who's busting the ball of The One Who Was Untouchable:
A man wearing an Obama mask robbed a bank. Either that or Obama has an exciting new plan to reduce the deficit.
–Conan
President Obama described himself as an eternal optimist. He then explained that he’s the kind of person that sees the country as “half employed.”
–Conan
Republicans actually decided not to give a rebuttal to President Obama’s jobs speech tonight. I guess they figured there’s already a rebuttal to his jobs speech: No jobs.
–Jimmy Fallon
Nothing negative on Obama from Letterman lately, though. A bitter, misogynistic, Democratic front-man to the end...

Anita Dunn Lies, The "Women's Movement" Hides, Abuse Continues Unabated...
Ron Suskind's new book Confidence Men: Wall Street, Washington and the Education of a President, is causing waves for many reason, one of which is the many first-hand accounts of the poor treatment afforded to female members of the Obama team. (I've written so often about the misogyny of the liberals and the Democratic party I've gotten bored with the topic, but you can read some posts here and here and here and here and here....).
Fearless Anita Dunn - she of the Mao Fan Club - provides the most damning accusation:
One of the most striking quotes in the book came from former White House communications director Anita Dunn , who was quoted as saying that, “this place would be in court for a hostile workplace. . . . Because it actually fit all of the classic legal requirements for a genuinely hostile workplace to women.”
But hold on! When questioned about the quote, Dunn denied ever saying it!
Dunn says she was quoted out of context and told The Post on Friday that she told Suskind “point blank” that the White House was not a hostile work environment.
Oh, really? Turns out Suskind recorded the coversation, which he shared with the Washington Post:
On Monday, Suskind allowed a Post reporter to review a recorded excerpt of the original interview, which took place over the telephone in April. In that conversation, Dunn is heard telling Suskind about a conversation she had with Jarrett.
“I remember once I told Valerie that, I said if it weren’t for the president, this place would be in court for a hostile workplace,” Dunn is heard telling Suskind. “Because it actually fit all of the classic legal requirements for a genuinely hostile workplace to women.”
Liar.
Bill Clinton used women as the equivalent of blow-up sex toys, Barack Obama uses women as props, stagecraft, to be seen and not heard. And those women's groups, so prickly and quick to jump upon any perceived slights to the gender?
Nothin' but crickets. Remember that the next time they shriek in rage at some trumped up charge against an innocent Republican...
But still - women consistently vote for Democrats over Republicans, despite the fact that the Dems treat them no better than a sleazy one-night bar stand, whispering sweet nothings into their ears as they take everything they have, and leave chuckling, never fulfilling that promise to call, and studiously ignoring them should they randomly meet again.
Is it true that women just like men who treat them poorly? Or are women just the electoral equal to the Jews, constantly voting out of guilt for a party that treats them like shit? When you take into account that women like Dunn lie to cover up their mistreatment at the hands of the Left, one wonders if they aren't suffering from the same "battered wife syndrome" the Jews are...

Hidden Messages Of The One Dollar Bill Finally Revealed!
No wonder liberals like to burn money - literally, at their anti-capitalist "Days of Rage", and metaphorically, once in government. Because it turns out the dollar bill has been telling us something all along that has finally - recently - filtered in from our subconscious:
Yeah, that's right. Read it and weep, Lefties....

Barack Obama is not coming for the millionaires....
...he's coming for you. He's a socialist wolf, whom the media is trying to dress in sheep's clothing.
This report is from CBS.com:
"This is not class warfare -- it's math," Mr. Obama said from the White House Rose Garden, addressing GOP critiques of his plan head on.
"The money has to come from some place," he continued. "If we're not willing to ask those who've done extraordinarily well to help America close the deficit... the math says everybody else has to do a whole lot more, we've got to put the entire burden on the middle class and the poor."
The core of Mr. Obama's deficit reduction plan is $1.5 trillion in new taxes. About $800 billion comes from repealing the Bush-era tax rates for couples making more than $250,000. The plan also closes certain corporate tax loopholes and limits certain tax deductions.
Seems like Obama is frustrated that money doesn't grow on trees, as he spits out "The money has to come from some place" with some venom. I guess a life lived spending other people's money - as a community organizer, as a state legislator, as a Senator - doesn't prepare you much for the responsibility of creating the money in the first place. Hence Obama's utter cluelessness, and his repeated, bewildered trips back to the stimulus (spending) well...
But look who he is actually going to raise taxes on. While Obama only talks about millionaires and billionaires, his actual plan is to start redistributing the wealth of families making $250,000 or better. That is where is he will start confiscating the private wealth of the citizenry in order to spend it as he sees fit. These are the people who Barack Obama says - nay, accuses - of having done "extraordinarily well". Not millionaires and billionaires, but the upper middle class. And let me tell you - in a state like New Jersey, with exorbitant local tax rates and "fees" up the wazoo - $250,000 is barely getting by in some places.
Hey - "It's math"!
So he's not just soaking the rich. He is starting with the upper middle class and moving up. And who will bear the brunt of these tax increases? A harried middle class, with no time or money to spend on complicated tax forms, or the the rich, who will shuffle their money into various hiding places and wind up paying less than before?
The wolf is on the loose, folks. And he is hunting us...

Media Claims Barack Obama Is "The First Jewish President" !
Oh, come on now! Really! Someone ought to tell the media that propaganda is only useful when it has a basis in reality, or in at least in the base beliefs in the target audience. Because a fail on this level only leads to a backlash, and permanently puts the publication in question onto the "fiction" rack, at least in the minds of the reading public...
I give you: New York Magazine, around the bend and off the Cliffs of Insanity::
Via Gateway Pundit:
In New York magazine this week, John Heilemann contends that President Obama is the “best thing Israel has going for it right now” and despite some setbacks he remains a president “every bit as pro-Israel as the country’s own prime minister — and, if you look from the proper angle, maybe even more so.”
No question on what the proper angle necessary is to view Barack Hussein Obama as a pro-Israel president - it's an viewing angle from the far, far, left. Like these folks here:

Or these 27 Democrats, who voted to continue to supply American taxpayer money to groups who deny Israel's right to exist:
Or perhaps from the angle of a certain other left-wing president, whose supporters also claimed was "pro-Israel":
Man...someone ought to tell the media that desperation smells awful, and the stench...well, it tends to stick to you for a while...
UPDATE: Alana Goodman reports that 67% of Americans do not believe that Barack Obama is pro-Israel. Meaning that either 33% of Americans do believe he is pro-Israel, or approve of his policies.
33%. Same as the amount of registered Democrats, no? Nobody left but the true believers...
