The Minority Leader tells CNN:
"We still would have lost the election because we had 9.5% unemployment. Let's take it where that came from. The policies of George W. Bush and the Republican support for his initiatives, tax cuts are for the wealth, recklessness by some...."
Wow. Seems like old lady Pelosi's loss of power has led her off the cliffs of insanity. How else can we describe this statement, besides silly, senseless, irrational, wild, cracked, stupid, outrageous, outlandish, ridiculous, bizarre, peculiar, weird, eccentric, odd, zany, and daft?
Can we now get ObamaCare overturned by "reason of insanity"? The Democrats would save face, the American people would heave a sigh of relief, and we could move on to more pressing business.
But back to this "blaming Bush" business...reminds me of the scene in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, where the travellers are stuck in an unexpected snowstorm while navigating round the mountain Caradhras:
"'I wonder if this is a contrivance of the Enemy,' said Boromir. 'They say in my land that he can govern the storms in the Mountains of Shadow that stand upon the borders of Mordor. He has strange powers and many allies'
"His arm has grown long indeed,' said Gimli, 'if he can draw snow down from the North to trouble us here three hundred leagues away.'
"'His arm has grown long,' said Gandalf."
Is George W. Bush manipulating the demise of the Democratic party while in virtual seclusion on his ranch in Crawford, Texas?
His arm has grown long, indeed...
