New Jersey Democrats: State Residents Overtaxed? Not Yet...

Has to be read to be believed:

Corzine’s treasurer, David “Let Them Drink Beer” Rousseau, Monday declared before a Senate committee the war on property taxes had been won — by the Corzine administration. Incredibly, Rousseau talked stupid again Tuesday before the Assembly Budget Committee. When asked if New Jerseyans were overtaxed, Rousseau said, “No.” Ranking Democrats on the committee, led by Lou “The Empty Suit” Greenwald, agreed.

The audio clip is here - the arrogance in Rousseaus's voice is breathtaking. So is his ignorance:

The nonpartisan national Tax Foundation says New Jersey has the highest state and local tax burden. The state’s 21 counties rank among the top 50 in the nation for the percentage of income paid toward property taxes.

With that kind of disconnect from reality, this should come as no suprise:

Corzine trails Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie by 9 percentage points (42-33) in a new Farleigh Dickinson-PublicMind Poll. Nearly half of registered voters (49 percent) disapprove of Corzine’s job performance. Worse news for the governor, independents disapprove of him by more than two to one (58-25). You can’t win the governor’s office without independents.

Fingers crossed...
