"Atlas Shrugged" - From Fiction to Fact in Fifty Years !

As any reader of this blog knows, I am a huge favorite of the works of novelist/philosopher Ayn Rand. I vainly tried to spread the gospel and warned of its coming many times on the campaign trail, specifically (but not exclusively) here, here, and here.

Good to see that the Wall Street Journal is on the same page as I am; as they come to the realization that the events foretold in Rand's seminal novel, Atlas Shrugged, are coming to life:



I recommend all of Rand's work, but it is Atlas Shrugged that may be required reading for those whom want to see how the Age of Obama will unfold. It's 1200 pages of tough reading, with long monolouges, speeches, and stilted dialogue. Still - the ideas that seemed almost laughable when the novel was first published now plays out daily in the New York Times, without a word of caution from our self-proclaimed intellectual elite.

I'll leave you with this thought, which you can replay over and over in your head every time you hear Obama piously informing us that he will require "sacrifices":

"It only stands to reason that where there’s sacrifice, there’s someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there’s service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of service and sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.”
