J-Street: Not Kosher !

You would think that even a George Soros funded, anti-Israeli, anti-Semitic group that was trying to pass itself off as the mainstream voice of American Judaism would have the smarts to offer some Kosher cuisine at their conference.

Ah....no:

When I arrived at the conference this morning, before 8 a.m., I asked a staff person if the breakfast would include kosher options. She told me it would. But when the food arrived, there was nothing kosher to be found–not even fruit. I sufficed with coffee and decided to wait for lunch, when–with an hour of free time–I could rush on the metro to a kosher restaurant.

When that time came, I got ready to hurry out of the conference room only to be told by multiple J Street staffers that there were sandwiches for purchase across the building and yes, some of them were kosher.

You can guess what happened next. I arrived at the sandwich cart and requested the kosher option. I got a blank stare in return, and when I asked the manager she told me she had no idea what I was talking about. She hadn’t heard anything about kosher sandwiches. The best they could do, they said, was a regular turkey sandwich with the cheese taken off. No good.

From the comments:

I attended the conference last year with a small group of open-minded Orthodox students from my university, no kosher food to be found. We notified one of the senior staff of J Street who apologized and told us it was an organizational slip, that they had ordered kosher food but it somehow didn’t arrive. At least this time they didn’t lie about not expecting any observant attendees.

Funny. Is J-Street knowingly so far out of whack with traditional Jewish values that they assumed any Jews who even went to the trouble of keeping Kosher would never show their face at their conference? Or was it a deliberate slap in the face to observant Jews, a way to make them uncomfortable and feeling unwelcome?

Why not just host a pig roast, and get it out in the open and over with?

Jews may be perceived as smart, but they are really simply better educated, which outside of Israel has not helped their survival skills any (would you rather be lost in the woods with Sarah Palin or Barack Obama?). Liberals too as a whole may also be better educated but have less common sense than your average bricklayer. You would think that, in order to maintain the charade that J-Street is some type of "Jewish" organization, they would at least make a feeble
attempt at keeping kosher.

Comical in its ineptness, like so much of the Left's efforts. The equivalent, I suppose, of a Russian spy trying to work his way into secret corridors without dropping his
Boris Badenov accent. One would shake their heads before showing them the door.

Which is what should happen to J-Street, of course. Which is what would happen, if so many weren't intent on seeing them succeed...

You Need Stupid? Call A New York Democrat...

Oh, they're priceless. This story in the New York Post is primarily about the budget battle, but there are two gems hidden therein. One, the impending doom of New York's "millionaires tax", which kicks in on people making...$200K. Not sure if the Democrats are just mathematically challenged, or simply trying to dupe their constituents. With that particular political party, either answer is equally valid. To be fair, however, this mathematical malaise is not limited strictly to New York - New Jersey's "millionaires tax" - vetoed by Governor Christie - kicked in on all earners hitting the $400K mark.

But that's just the warmup act. Here's the main event:

Brooklyn Democratic Sen. Kevin Parker, who has earned a reputation as a hothead, may soon earn one as an addlebrained fool, with a bizarre scheme to grow palm and other tropical trees and plants along the state Thruway.

Parker, convicted in December of assaulting a Post photographer, last week proposed a green “Thruway to Fuelway” initiative under which bio-fuel crops such as “palm oil, jatropha and mahua” would be grown along the now-snow-lined Thruway’s median strips.

Palm oil, of course, comes from the palm trees that are found in tropical landscapes and, at times, in the Bronx Botanical Gardens’ hothouses.

Jatropha is native to Mexico and Central America and is cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions of the world, while mahua is a tropical tree found in India...

What will the New York Democrats come up with next? A wilderness park for endangered dinosaurs? A landing strip for alien aircraft? Turning Broadway into farmland so we can all enjoy locally-grown produce?

Sometimes stupid is funny, but sometimes you need to turn your head away in shame, as you don't even want to be caught watching...

Ted Kennedy: Commie-Loving Whoremonger

Wonder if the media, currently busting the chops of Charlie Sheen, will get around to reporting what Teddy Kennedy was up to when he took a little tour of Latin America back in July of 1961, while still the Assistant DA of Suffolk County...via the FBI:

•“While Kennedy was in Santiago he made arrangements to ‘rent’ a brothel for an entire night. Kennedy allegedly invited one of the Embassy chauffeurs to participate in the night’s activities.”

•“[I]n each country Kennedy insisted on interviewing ‘the angry young men’ of the country. He wanted to meet with communists and others who had left-wing views. …Ambassador Freeman, Bogota, said the first person whom Kennedy wanted to meet was Lauchlin Currie.” (The document subsequently identifies Currie as a person who “had been mentioned in Washington investigations of Soviet spy rings.”)

•“[I]n Mexico Kennedy asked Ambassador Mann that certain left-wingers be invited to the Embassy residence where interviews could be held. Mann took the strong position that he would not invite such people and stated that if any such interviews were to be conducted, all arrangements should be made by Kennedy himself.”

Hey, at least Elliot Spitzer patronized American whores...couldn't Teddy wait until he got home so as to spend his money on American girls?

The files themselves make for great reading....on page 15, we see a State Department official in Lima, Peru as a "pompous and spoiled brat". Sounds about right...

There's more, check out page 16, where the FBI questions Kennedy's efforts to obtain a visa for a Brazilian women they describe as "unsavory", and that's the FBI being polite. Seems like the subject of Kennedy's efforts had been engaged to the head of Hungarian intelligence during WWII (a Nazi post), and then was a "close friend", ahem, of the head of Hungarian intelligence after WWII (a Soviet post). Not to mention a past filled with enemy collaboration and prostitution. Regardless, after a protracted battle, Kennedy got her into America. Maybe he was interested in her "lesbian tendencies"? I guess we'll never know...

But what we do know is that a mere 90-odd days after Teddy's trip to Latin America, he decided to enter the world of politics. From one bed of whores and leftists to another, I suppose...

Don't expect to see any of these revelations mentioned in our mainstream media. They protect the legacy of their heroes, while printing whatever half-truths they can to destroy ours. Amazing how they will betray the calling of the profession they have chosen to devote themselves to - that of exposing the truth and informing the people - in order to uphold a precarious political doctrine. The equivalent of a doctor refusing to see sick patients due to an antagonism towards their belief system...

Actually, today's journalists seem to have a lot in common with Teddy Kennedy....

In Defense of Charlie Sheen

And I'm not talking about his personal life. Hey, even the best of us, were we making $1M/week, might occasionally find ourselves in a roomful of hookers rolling around in pile of cocaine. The libertarian in me just doesn't give a shite, quite honestly.

But it's the accusations of anti-Semitism that make me nuts. Look, Charlie is doing more than enough to put himself in a less-than-stellar light, the media needs not pile on with stretches like this:

Sheen denied accusations that he is an anti-Semite after he referred to Lorre by his Hebrew name during a Thursday call-in to radio's "Alex Jones Show."

"It's nothing this side of deplorable that a certain Chaim Levine, yeah that's Chuck's [Lorre] last name, mistook this rock star for his own selfish exit strategy bro," Sheen said.

"I was referring to Chuck by his real name, because I wanted to address the man, not the [expletive] TV persona," Sheen told the celebrity website TMZ. .

"So you're telling me, anytime someone calls me Carlos Estevez, I can claim they are anti-Latino?" Sheen told 'GMA,' referring to his birth name.

Ah, the mindfuck that is liberalism. Blacks can say "nigger", but whites can't. Giving your child unique and heritage-based names is the essence of multiculturalism, but using Barack Obama's middle name - "Hussein" - is some sort of hate crime. And calling a man by his given ethnic name, rather than his self-invented stage name, is apparently racist or anti-Semitic or whatever the Left decides it needs to be at the current moment. So we get Charlie Sheen as a raging anti-Semite, and The Muslim Brotherhood portrayed as the embodiment of tolerant understanding...

Charlie gets it. Hopefully, this is a wake-up call for him - no, not to end the non-stop orgy, but to realize that he's been affiliated with the wrong political party, one that will judge him and find him guilty of crimes he never even imagined existed, when they no longer had any use for him...

Hey don't feel too bad for him. He still has Brooke Mueller, and you don't...

(Disclaimer, of sorts: I met Charlie Sheen once, almost 20 years ago, to complete a quasi-legal business deal. Whereas he was already a Hollywood celebrity and I was a mere errand boy, I expected the quick blowoff, but he was charming and polite and we chatted for a good 5-10 minutes. Left quite the impression. Just thought I'd mention it, as I always demand "full disclosure" from the mainstream media..."
There were no hookers, drugs, or X-rated movies involved, Just saying...)

UPDATE: Now THIS is celebrity anti-Semitism, but I doubt it will get much play, as the fashion world is one of the few sectors (along with angry liberal .orgs) that still spills their cash on full-page ads in the dead-tree media:

British fashion designer John Galliano allegedly grabbed a respected art historian’s hair and called her an ‘ugly, disgusting whore’ with a ‘dirty Jew face’ and no dress sense during an unprovoked attack in a Paris cafe.

....She has claimed Galliano concluded his tirade with: ‘I am the designer John Galliano!’ while striking the trademark ‘rock star’ pose with which he often ends his couture shows.

Dior chief executive Sidney Toledano said: ‘...Pending the results of the inquiry, Christian Dior has suspended John Galliano from his responsibilities.’

A Paris police spokesman confirmed all details of the allegations against Mr Galliano, and said he was facing criminal charges...

Can Article Four Save Wisconsin?

Well, yeah, if we had a president who actually took his oath to uphold the Constitution seriously. Article Four speaks to the federal government's duties to the states:

Article Four, Clause 1:

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, . . .

Article Four, Clause 2:

[...] and [The United States] shall protect each of them [the States] against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

Well, certainly Wisconsin had a "republic" form of government; they held open, free, and fair elections in November of 2010 and elected a Republican governor and legislature.

What followed was a band of renegade legislators going into hiding to prevent the state government from functioning, while the rioters whom they supported occupied government chambers in order to disrupt legislative business.

Since these events unfolded, the legislature of the state of Wisconsin has been unable to perform its duties to the people whom elected them. Has there ever been a clearer example of the U.S. federal government needing to fulfill its constitutional obligations to one of the Union's member states than this? (Wikipedia references the
1967 Detroit riots as an example where it was apparently discussed but not invoked).

So Barack Obama could end the madness in Wisconsin (and in Indiana)by simply remembering he is president of the entire United States of America, not just the ever-shrinking segments that support him, and by preforming the duties he swore an oath to.

That oath again?

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Allowing the Constitution to be flaunted as it is by the unions and the Democrats in the Midwest is in no way defending it; refusing to use the powers it offers to fulfill the role it demands is neither preserving it or protecting it.

But we gave sacred trust of the Constitution to a man-child, a radical activist, a community organizer who will use it only to serve his ends when necessary, and shred it when what it demands runs counter to what he wants, oaths be damned.

A lesson for future generations, I suppose, on the safe entrustment of liberties...

Polls: ObamaCare Sucks, Barack A Weak-Kneed Pussy

Hey, I just write the headlines, OK? And if the AP can write inflammatory headlines slanting the sentiment in a certain direction, so can I.

However, that doesn't always work. Especially in polling, when sometimes an idea is so abhorrent that no matter how hard you work to skew the sample towards the Left, the public answers in a way that is...Right:

Obamacare Isn't Even Popular Among Grossly Over-Sampled Democrats

The newly released Kaiser Health Tracking Poll shows that, by a margin of 27 percentage points (59 to 32 percent), seniors have an “unfavorable,” rather than a “favorable,” opinion of Obamacare. The same poll also shows that, by a margin of 5 points (48 to 43 percent), Americans as a whole have an “unfavorable,” rather than a “favorable,” opinion of the overhaul. That’s not so striking in itself, but it is when you consider this fact: Only 24 percent of the poll’s respondents were Republicans.

About half of the poll’s remaining respondents, 36 percent of the overall tally, were Democrats. This 3-to-2 ratio of Democrats to Republicans isn’t even remotely representative of current party allegiance. Exit polling from the past election showed an even split: 35 percent Republicans, 35 percent Democrats. When you factor in “leaners,” the Kaiser poll included 37 percent Republicans and 50 percent Democrats.

Fail, Epic. Jeez, if you are going to befoul your operation so with warped metrics, why not just poll the newsroom of the New York Times and get the result you want?

And speaking of results certain people didn't want....

40 Percent of Americans Rate President Obama a “Poor” Leader

...the number of Americans who think the president is a “poor” leader now doubles the number who think he is an “excellent” one, according to a newly released Rasmussen poll of likely voters.

In response to a rather straightforward question — “How would you rate Barack Obama as a leader?” — 40 percent of Americans replied that Obama is a “poor” leader, while just 20 percent replied that he is an “excellent” one. Among independents, the ratio was more than three to one against: 43 percent think Obama is a “poor” leader, while just 14 percent think he is an “excellent” one.

A majority of the remaining respondents, both overall and among independents, rate Obama as a “fair” leader, rather than as a “good” one.

Somewhere - on a peanut farm, perhaps, or in a bomb factory in Gaza - Jimmy Carter is flashing his famous smile...

Should The AP Even Be Writing About The Wisconsin Unions?

I guess my real question is, if writers for the AP are members of a union (and I believe the News Media Guild represents about 1,000 AP journalists; do even more of them belong to the CWA?), should they not recuse themselves from writing stories about topics such as the Wisconsin Union Riots of 2011? Or if not, should there at least be a disclaimer that states "the following story is written by a union member", so people understand why they see stories with wording such as that used below? Loaded words are highlighted:

Wis. Assembly passes bill taking away union rights

Republicans in the Wisconsin Assembly took the first significant action on their plan to strip collective bargaining rights from most public workers, abruptly passing the measure early Friday morning before sleep-deprived Democrats realized what was happening.

The vote ended three straight days of punishing debate in the Assembly. But the political standoff over the bill — and the monumental protests at the state Capitol against it — appear far from over.

Interesting note, made some 90-odd paragraphs later on the Dems "realizing what was happening":

Debate had gone on for 60 hours and 15 Democrats were still waiting to speak when the vote started around 1 a.m. Friday...Majority Leader Scott Suder, R-Abbotsford, warned Democrats that they had been given 59 hours to be heard and Republicans were ready to vote.

So they were given all the time they were informed they would, and then an hour more. Abrupt? Hardly. Wear a watch, losers...

And were not the Republicans equally sleep-deprived? In order to win the vote, they too had to be present in the chamber at 1AM, no?

A more value-neutral version of this article could have been written thusly:

Wis. Assembly passes bill limiting bargaining power of public workers

Republicans in the Wisconsin Assembly took the first significant action on their plan to eliminate the ability of public unions to collectively bargain , passing the measure early Friday morning after over 60 hours of debate.

The vote ended three straight days of debate in the Assembly. But the political standoff over the bill, and the union protests at the state Capitol against it — which have shut schools, limited public service, and have been noticable for their violent rhetoric directed at both the Governor and the republican party- appear far from over
.

But the AP has no intent to be value-free; they are exploiting their position as a ubiquitous media filler to use language and storylines that put the Republicans in the worst possible light, and simultaneously hider the truth about the nature of the crisis, the protests, and the protesters.

Just providing a public service here. But don't be surprised if you click the link and some of the verbiage has changed - I've noticed quite often that the AP articles I read at 6AM are often quite different when I re-read them at 8AM.

Some of the late-night union stringers for the AP trying to pull a fast propaganda ploy while the editors are asleep? Possibly. Maybe the AP ought to keep an eye on what goes on in the store at night, before the rats befoul the entire inventory...

New Jersey Toll Takers Union Hears Bell Tolling For Thee...

Governor Chris Christie has long been in favor of privatizing the collection of tolls among New Jersey's key highways (the Garden State, the Turnpike), and as it looks as if this goal is about to come to fruition, as hearings are being held and bids fare being taken. It would save the state anywhere from $35-42 million dollars per year.

The union (the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers Local No. 194 represents the toll-takers) has gone from
defiance:

"From the movie 'Wall Street,' it was said, greed ... is good — and in our business, greed is another word for privatization," said Ray Stever, president of the New Jersey State Industrial Union Council

...to acceptance of their unfortunate fate:

Franceline Ehret said many toll takers have applied for jobs with the potential bidders in case toll collections are privatized, and she had officially introduced herself to the companies.

What's the difference? Well, the Star-Ledger refuses to divulge how much union toll-takers are paid, only
saying Turnpike and Parkway toll collectors are better paid than their counterparts on the George Washington Bridge ($61,000 a year) and Pennsylvania Turnpike ($55,000). Oh - and they add that new hires start at $65K a year.

New Jersey has asked all bidders for the toll-collection contract set a wage of $12 per hour, about half of the $30+ per hour "experienced" toll collectors earn.

Alas, there is little sympathy for the toll-takers - remember, at one point
550 letters were made public detailing complaints about behavior both rude, crude, and perverted by the tollbooth turkeys. Now it looks like many of them will lose jobs, and the ones who retain it will take a 50% cut in pay. Welcome to the world of private employment, I suppose, where most of America lives. There will be little sympathy for a bunch of overpaid, insolent state employees who mistreated residents while forcing tax hikes upon them to maintain their exorbitant salaries.

Is there a lesson in there for the Wisconsin teachers union, and their allies in Madison. Ask Bob Ingle:

There is a lesson in there somewhere about respect and the people you meet on the way down...

A lesson unions nationwide are about to learn the hard way, like a certain state's once-untouchable toll collectors...

Susan Rice: Libya? Sorry, I've Got A Real Crisis On My Hands...

At great personal risk to himself and his family, Libya’s deputy ambassador to the United Nations, Ibrahim Dabbashi, pushed the UN Security Council to take up the violence in his home country. Dabbashi said he could no longer support the regime of his boss Moammar Gadhafi and stepped out to condemn what he called “a genocide”. The dramatic event prompted the first UN meeting of the 15 member Security Council on the uprisings sweeping across the region since the beginning of Tunisia’s revolution, Egypt’s violence and the developing protests in Bahrain, Yemen, Palestine and Iran.

...at which point our Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, stepped up and showed the world what American values were made of by offering strong words of support for Dabbashi's bravery, and extending to him, and maybe even the Libyan people, the protection of the United States, in order to perhaps forge a new beginning in the Middle East.

Nah. Just kidding. Never happened. Susan Rice had more important things to do than deal with a real-time crisis that could remake the world:

The Obama administration’s appointed ambassador, Susan Rice, skipped the Libya meeting and instead flew to South Africa to attend a UN panel discussion on global sustainability.

A panel on what?

On 9 August 2010, the Secretary-General launched the High-level Panel on Global Sustainability (GSP) that brings together renowned world figures to formulate a new blueprint for a sustainable future on a planet under increasing stress resulting from human activities.

...the Panel seeks to explore approaches for building a low-carbon, green and resilient economy that can eradicate poverty and ensure a dignified life for all.

It seems as if the Obama administration will not let reality intrude on their fantasy world. Egypt falls, blame Israeli settlements. Libya implodes, send key diplomats off to discuss green initiatives. Gas prices skyrocket, maintain an illegal moratorium on offshore drilling.

Well, Susan Rice is an idiot, so perhaps it is best she is as far away as possible when there is trouble brewing (still - couldn't they do this via teleconference, as opposed to spilling millions of tons of jet fuel?). But what will this nation - and the world - look like in two years, when Obama is gone and the dream-cloud is lifted?

I'm afraid to even think that far ahead, actually...

Holder's Justice Department Forcing Televised Confessions?

In China, when a dissident has been taken by authorities, he is often forced to confess his sins and renounce his actions, while his family receives a bill for the bullet that is shot into his head.

We don't do that to individual malcontents in Eric Holder's America. We only do that to corporations:

The Justice Department wants the largest cigarette manufacturers to admit that they lied to the public about the dangers of smoking, forcing the industry to set up and pay for an advertising campaign of self-criticism for past behavior.

As part of a 12-year-old lawsuit against the tobacco industry, the government on Wednesday released 14 "corrective statements" that it says the companies should be required to make.

One "corrective" statement says: "A federal court is requiring tobacco companies to tell the truth about cigarette smoking. Here's the truth: ... Smoking kills 1,200 Americans. Every day."

Another of the government's proposed statements begins: "We falsely marketed low tar and light cigarettes as less harmful than regular cigarettes to keep people smoking and sustain our profits."

Philip Morris USA, maker of Marlboro, the nation's top-selling cigarette brand, and its parent company, Altria Group Inc., said Wednesday they were prepared to fight if the Justice Department won't dial back its hard-hitting proposals.

Philip Morris said the Justice Department plan would compel an admission of wrongdoing under threat of contempt of court by a judge.

"Such a proposal is unprecedented in our legal system and would violate basic constitutional and statutory standards," the company statement said.

Oh please. This is Barack Obama and Eric Holder's America now. "Basic constitutional and statutory standards" ceased to exist on January 20th, 2009, despite a president who swore an oath to uphold them.

Glenn Reynolds like to preface a lot of his links to horrible economic news with "This is why they'd rather talk about Sarah Palin". I never really bought that premise, although I am starting to rethink it.

Cigarette manufactures are to American politicians what Jews have been to despots for centuries: Someone whom everyone already distrusts, who can easily be used as a scapegoat for the societal problems usually caused by said despots and politicians. And while you'll never entirely wipe them out - you never know when you'll need to blame them for some future misstep - you'll use the fear of such to extort money or property from them.

Just like Eric Holder is doing now. With the Middle East erupting, rioting breaking out in various American state capitals, Democratic lawmakers disrupting the democratic process, and a president who simply decides to ignore laws he doesn't like, Justice decides to make an example of...cigarette companies. In the style of the worst authoritarian regimes imaginable.

Would be laughable, if it weren't so terrifying. And of course, once a precedent has been set...who will be forced on TV next to "confess" their crimes?

Obama: Stuck In the '60's ?

In ready his mealy-mouthed statement on the uprising in Libya - complete with the requisite "So let me be clear" - one line jumped out at me:

This is not simply a concern of the United States. The entire world is watching....

What is this, 1968?

"The whole world is watching" was an iconic chant by antiwar demonstrators outside the Chicago Hilton Hotel during the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Is Obama stuck in the '60's, or stuck in Chicago?

Seems like he's trying to use the Libyan unrest as a "kumbaya" moment, where the most important action the United States can take in regards to a regional upheaval is to make sure everyone knows we are not doing anything that everyone around us does not agree with, as Obama repeats ad nauseum in his statement today:

In a volatile situation like this one, it is imperative that the nations and peoples of the world speak with one voice, and that has been our focus. Yesterday a unanimous U.N. Security Council sent a clear message that it condemns the violence in Libya...

This same message, by the way, has been delivered by the European Union, the Arab League, the African Union, the Organization of the Islamic Conference, and many individual nations. North and south, east and west, voices are being raised together...

So sing along with Barack:

Someone's crying, Lord, kumbaya
Oh Lord, kumbaya ...

It's a sweet song, but hardly a substitute for solid foreign policy. But this is just about the best that the Left has got...

The Libyan Revolution: A Case For Missile Defense In Europe

Yeah, the Middle East is a long way from New Jersey. But not as far from the shores of sunny Italy, where some folks are quietly freaking out as the star & crescent are rising ominously, the way a different logo once dominated Europe.

Via the
PJ Tatler:

Italy’s Foreign minister is scared as hell. He knows that Ghadaffi is a cruel madman, and he knows as well that that it can be more cruel too.....just hand Libya to the Islamists, and you have half of the Libyan population running to the boats to reach Italy, and the other half calling for Jihad in the streets of Palermo and Milano.

And Europeans being Europeans, well....
this is not surprising:

Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg said Europeans should not "get involved too much" with the anti-regime movement in Libya.

"If Gaddafi falls, there will be bigger catastrophes in the world," he said without elaborating. "If we get involved, we would only complicate the situation."

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi also said on Saturday he would not "bother" his close friend Gaddafi...

The Czechs, sold off to the Nazis by the rest of Europe in order to buy 15 minutes of peace, should know better. Berlusconi, meanwhile, may go down in history as the next Nero - fiddling with teenage prostitutes while his nation is overrun by foreign hordes.

Which brings me to missile defense, a Bush policy, therefore one that has been trashed by the Obami, in their quest for "smart diplomacy". Considering the following scenario:

-Lybia becomes overtaken by Islamists, and is joined by Egypt, slave state Lebanon, and patron state Syria, in creating a virtual caliphate serving under the Iranian mullahs.

-Iran, unhindered by "smart diplomacy", develops a nuke within the next 18 months

-
said nuke is placed on Iranian Shahab-3 missiles, with a range of approximately 1,000 klicks, which puts much of Europe in range of a potential holocaust

-and speaking of which, the caliphate informs the world that any attempt to remove these missiles will result in the immediate destruction of the state of Israel, now surrounded on all sides by hostiles. And while sacrificing Jews to save their own skin is a time-honored European tradition, it will take American firepower to get the job done, and we are less likely to act with anger while a friend has a knife held to her throat.

Meanwhile, President Obama remians stock-still and silent, as a deer caught in the headlights. The man who would be King of the Arab world has been bypassed in favor of good old fashioned theocracy, and he stands slack-jawed, with no idea where to move next.

Of course it is his previous moves, such as essentially ending European missile defense, that has now put that continent in existential peril.

Is it time for Obama to re-think the wisdom of yet another George W. Bush policy? And where are the European intellectual elite that derided the Bush machinations as the cause of war itself?

They're either building bomb shelters or buying prayer rugs, I suppose. Thus leaving their fellow countrymen (it is a "union", right?) left to ponder yet another time-honored European tradition: Destruction and enslavement by a foreign power.

World War III, again in Battlefield Europe? Don't bet against it...

The Sheikh of Sex Tells Muslim Women "No She-Bop!"

While part of me is horrified by this video ("...at most, she should be flogged, if she confesses or their were witnesses") the other part of me has to give some props to Egyptian Sheikh Al-Qadarwi - a member in good standing in the Muslim Brotherhood who preached to hundreds of thousands, if not millions, last Friday in Cairo -for even broaching the issue of female masturbation, one that is often denied outright in our society and would likely make most Judeo-Christian theologians cringe.

Maybe it's these honest sex-ed chats on Arabic TV that warms the hearts of the Obama administration, and leads them to believe the Muslim Brotherhood is just another version of American liberalism. Via
Closet Conservative:

Yes, ladies, it is better to do your homework than to masturbate - after all, it better prepares you for a life as a Muslim housewife, one where you will not speak unless spoken to, and will be forbidden to hold any type of valued position within civil society.

Best to laugh at Al-Qaradawi, but
only so much - he uses his influence to condone suicide attacks on Israeli civilians, believes homosexuals should be put to death, and that wives should only be "slapped lightly...."

And the Jews? Well...

“Oh Allah, take this oppressive, Jewish Zionist band of people. Oh Allah, do not spare a single one of them,” he said during the Gaza War in January 2009, in remarks translated by the press monitoring organization MEMRI. “Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them, down to the very last one.”

In a just world, this guy would be limited to Islamic sex-ed...instead he might just rule Egypt, a modern day Ayatollah Khomeini.

Egyptian girls, get your she-bop on while you still can....

Sacre Bleu! Top French Search Term Is "Jew"!

And no doubt, it is due to the deep desire amongst the French to find out more about their Jewish brethren, who they couldn't wait to turn over to the Nazis in 1941:

An Internet tool that flags up popular search words has spontaneously revealed a deeper trend: French web surfers' exceeding curiosity about whether their politicians are Jewish.

Observers say the phenomenon betrays an obsession in a country with a sensitive history of anti-Semitism.

The newspaper Le Monde said that a comparison of searches on various language versions of Google revealed that Autocomplete linked Jewishness to politicians far more commonly in France than in other countries.

The same effect occurs on the French version of another major search engine, Yahoo!

"The auto-completion technology used by Google could in theory reveal the mentality of the country where these propositions originate," said Olivier Ertzscheid, an Internet specialist at Nantes University.

"It is not by chance if the word 'Jewish' appears linked to more search queries in France than elsewhere. It goes back to something in the history of the country in question," he told AFP.

Yeah, you think?

But try entering the name of a politician such as Dominique Strauss-Kahn -- the International Monetary Fund head who could challenge for the French presidency next year -- in the French version, Google.fr.

...the fourth commonest search offered in French is "dominique strauss kahn juif" (Jewish).

As the nations of the Middle East finally overthrow their tyrants, they scream "Jew! Jew! Jew!". Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claims there never was a Holocaust, but boy-oh-boy give him another year or two and he'll show you a Holocaust! Meanwhile, the Jewish nation is demonized daily at the UN, with their erstwhile ally the United States now leading the charge. And as we have just noted, in France, the populace furiously searches for the stain of Jewish blood in their political leadership.

What year are we living in again? I suppose it doesn't matter much, as some things apparently will not change, or be mentioned in polite society...

Chickensh*t Unions Steer Clear Of Jersey...

...because bullies never pick on anyone there own size. And because they never revisit a place where their ass has been handed to them.

Via the PJ Tatler:

Organizing for America (Obama’s Brown Shirt Army), SEIU and AFL-CIO are exponentiating the protest in Wisconsin by organizing similar events across the country starting tomorrow. President Chaos won’t be satisfied until he’s inflamed the entire country.

And here’s the list, which comes from SEIU’s web site:

2/21 – Helena, MT
2/21 – Carson City, NV
2/21 – Raleigh, NC
2/21 – Austin, TX
2/21 – Madison, WI
2/22 – Sacramento, CA
2/22 – Denver, CO
2/22 – Des Moines, IA
2/22 – Annapolis, MD
2/22 – Boston, MA
2/22 – Springfield, MA
2/22 – St. Paul, MN
2/22 – Santa Fe, NM
2/22 – Columbus OH
2/22 – Providence, RI
2/22 – Montpelier, VT
2/22 – Madison, WI
2/23 – Hartford, CT
2/23 – Atlanta, GA
2/23 – Scranton, PA
2/24 – Canton, OH

Guess which state is missing? Yeah, that's right. One would think they would try to make a showing in New Jersey, the first blue state where the unions were thrown for a humiliating loss.

But no. Why not?

Because these cowardly bastards know better. They know that Jersey has turned against them - hard - and Chris Christie will make a mockery of them should they dare enter the Garden State. And the last thing Barack Obama and his minions want to do is empower the man who could - should he choose - positively crush the president, and his party, in the 2012 elections.

Chickenshit cowards. From Obama down to the lowest member of the protester-for-hire....

Portland Liberals Regulate, Redistribute Body Odor...

...because if we all can't smell good, no one should smell good. And if one person "raises a stink" about the pleasant aroma of another, then the only logical recourse is that we should act progressively, and stink like a pre-Renaissance plague city:

City leaders unanimously agreed to pass a new policy discouraging personal scented products in the work-place, saying such products can irritate some people's allergies or asthma.

On Wednesday, commissioners said they would adopt the policy that discourages perfume, aftershave, cologne and the use of strongly scented powder, deodorant and other personal hygiene products.

Apparently, the unions approve the passage of this bizarre and intrusive piece of legislation. Are they involved in every bit of national stupidity we see onstage right now?

AFSCME union spokesman Rob Wheaton said they've been in talks with the city over the issue for years.

"...overall this ordinance that they're passing just codifies what's already an existing practice."

I don't believe regulating the scent of people's armpits has ever been an existing practice, although I don't live in Oregon. I live in Jersey, where if you're gonna get close enough to my neck to sniff it, you'd better be a hottie looking for a good spot to land a hickey, or you can expect to find yourself face-planted right into the New Jersey f*cking Turnpike...

My question to my intellectual superiors in Oregon is, can you lodge a complaint against someone who doesn't bathe at all, for forcing upon me a foul odor? Or are they allowed to reek and drop lice larvae in their wake while I are punished for the use of pleasingly pleasant soap and shampoo?

Will the city then raise taxes to pay for a "'pit police", to sniff for scented deodorants? Will their be an "Office of the Olfactory", where offenders are sniffed by government authorities to see if their sense of civilized cleanliness has crossed some sort of leftist line? And, pray tell, how will this affect the town elders? Will the Oregon City Council too foreswear off of after-shave and douching?

Well, not douching, I suppose. But expect waivers to be issued to certain folks who can prove exceptions are necessary, and expect that every last one of them will be Democrats...

E.J. Dionne Laments That Ridicule Has Not Stopped The Tea Party...

...he sounds stunned, stunned, that mockery as a form of political argumentation has failed to sway the American people:

Take five more steps back and you realize how successful the Tea Party has been. No matter how much liberals may poke fun at them, Tea Party partisans can claim victory in fundamentally altering the country's dialogue.

So what does he recommend? Like a Krugman blaming the failure of Obama's trillion dollar stimulus on being a trillion dollars too light to succeed, E.J. Dionne offers up - in lieu of facts or logic - more mockery!

But give the Tea Party guys credit: They have seized the political and media agenda and made budget cutting as fashionable as Justin Bieber was five minutes ago.

Oooohhh...cutting! Keep you day job, Mr. Dionne, whatever that is...because if all we are left with is facts and logical argument, as opposed to Palin-esque caricatures and nasty innuendo, we could wind up with...horror of horrors...

If politics is reduced to a crabbed and crabby accountants' war, Obama loses. The country will, too.

...national policy based on common sense and economic realities rather than liberal snark and leftist ideology. No wonder Dionne can't sleep at night - without lies, slander, derision, insincerity and his venomous hatred of conservatives, what will he have to offer to the Washington Post readership?

Besides comic relief, I mean?

Donna Brazile Threatens Republican Congressman

On ABC's This Week, Democratic party hack Donna Brazile, getting her ass thoroughly kicked by George Will and newly-elected Florida Congressman Steve Southerland, lashes out at the first-termer as he asks to refute her lies, and tries to short-circuit his response. An amazing exchange:

SOUTHERLAND: I want to say something about, you know, Donna's comments.

BRAZILE
: Now, remember, you're a freshman.

SOUTHERLAND
: I remember. I remember. But let me say this...

BRAZILE: And I'm your first woman on national TV, other than Christiane. Now, be careful.

Be careful of what, exactly? Is that a threat? What respect does any Congressman, regardless of seniority, obligated to show a functionary of the opposition party? Is Brazile promising to call him out as misogynist if he pointed out her inability to speak truthfully? And is it a positive that she didn't point out the color of her skin as well, as the final warning, or was that a threat that need not be spoken, as it was implicit within the first two?

Southerland wasn't cowed, though. Good for him. Part of being a Republican these days is getting used to threats by the opposition against your career, yourself, and your family.

But Brazile does sum up liberalism worldview quite well with her bluster. I'm a liberal, I'm a woman, and I'm black, so I have absolute moral authority. You? You're just a whitely newbie. So know you place, and sit quietly while I lie about you. Or else.

Thanks for showing America the "true colors" of the Democratic party, Donna. Any more moments of honesty like that, though, and the Democrats will be relegated to "rump party" status in 2012...

Madison Madness: George Will Blames Barack...

...and perhaps perfectly pins the tail that is wagging the union dog right where it belongs - on the Donkey-in-Chief himself:

CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR: Is this the sort of battle that we're going to see shaping up around the country? Is this really the sort of political and philosophical debate that's going on right now about what these cuts are going to mean?

GEORGE WILL, ABC
: It would have been even if the president hadn't intervened. But in the span of three days, Christiane, he first submits a budget that would increase the federal deficit and, two days later, he mobilizes his party, his own political machine, and organized labor, which is an appendage to his party, to sabotage Wisconsin's attempt to do what he will not do, which is deal with the insolvency of their government. In doing so, he has set the stage for 2012 by saying the Democratic Party is the party of government, not just in having an exaggerated view of the scope and competence of government, but because its base is in public employees.

And how's that going to play out in 2012? Just think of the 2010 electorate, this time going to the polls knowing Barack Obama supports wildcat striking, violent rhetoric (hey, the president was the first to call Scott Walker's proposal an "assault") and behavior, and the rape of the American taxpayer to satisfy the insatiable demands of the public sector unions.

Columbia's Shame: Heckling Disabled War Veterans

Respect is something that seems to have disappeared off the Ivy League curriculum. Well, I take that back - respect is ruthlessly enforced in regards to minorities, Muslims, and the confused (sorry, "transgendered"), but it is not a component of Ivy League protocol when it comes to conservatives, Jews, and the military.

At Columbia University:

Columbia University students heckled a war hero during a town-hall meeting on whether ROTC
should be allowed back on campus.

"Racist!" some students yelled at Anthony Maschek, a Columbia freshman and former Army staff sergeant awarded the Purple Heart after being shot 11 times in a firefight in northern Iraq in February 2008. Others hissed and booed the veteran.

Maschek, 28, had bravely stepped up to the mike Tuesday at the meeting to issue an impassioned challenge to fellow students on their perceptions of the military.

Several students laughed and jeered the Idaho native, a 10th Mountain Division infantryman who spent two years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington recovering from grievous wounds.

Maschek, who is studying economics, miraculously survived the insurgent attack in Kirkuk. In the hail of gunfire, he broke both legs and suffered wounds to his abdomen, arm and chest
.

Proof that he's a racist? Columbia's elite needs none. Just the fact that he wore an army uniform is all the evidence the well-educated need.

Sp that's the type of critical thinking that's being taught today at America's top universities? No wonder the Ivy League is turning every industry they dominate - Wall Street, banking, government - into shit.

More logic from the student body:

"Transpeople are part of the Columbia community," said senior Sean Udell at the meeting, referring to the military's current ban on transgender soldiers

"No Trannies, No Peace!"
must be the new chant of the new Left, and even they would admit it is kind of weak. But, as we see in Wisconsin, in Columbia it is all about the screaming and intimidation, and not at all about civil discourse and understanding. Meet the next generation of "X=Hitler" sign-carriers:

José Robledo, 30, a Columbia student who commutes to Fordham University for ROTC coursework, said he found the treatment of Maschek abhorrent.

"The anti-ROTC side has been disrespectful and loud. They hiss and they jeer," he said. "It's been to the detriment of the argument."

Jose gets it, of course, but his fellow students will likely blast him as a traitor to his race...

The privileged white speak best for the minority community...

The educational heritage of the Ivy League, once a badge of honor, is rapidly turning into a badge of shame. Give me a kid who worked his way through community college any day....

Wisconsin: "Unions Losing This Battle, And They Know It"

That's R.S. McCain speaking, but of course we predicted it a day ago. He's right, of course, as the unions now appear to be willing to offer a compromise solution, one that would have been unimaginable a few days ago. But like any commander who has the enemy on the run, Governor Walker is not going to give any ground when victory is within grasp; he's going for the entire enchilada.

And why not? While the union goons are turning the state into tatters for personal gain, thousands of Tea Partiers came from across the nation to provide backup to Scott Walker and the taxpayers of Wisconsin. With the armies of America gathering strength behind him, the unions are toast. He knows it. And the unions - who have sneered at the Tea Party since its formation - swallowed hard when they ran into this scene, and realized that their "moment in the sun" was over.

The battle will continue for some time, but it seems clear which side will emerge victorious, no matter how much ugliness (and eventually violence) will be perpetuated by the Left. Call it another failure on a grand scale by Barack Obama, who saw this as an opportunity to be an anti-Lincoln - attempting to divide a house against itself, and hoping to claim the largest share of the rubble when it collapsed - and ordered his minions into battle against the people of Wisconsin. Even the New York Times will admit as much:

The protests have become something of a galvanizing point for Democrats — in Wisconsin and beyond — after demoralizing defeats in last year’s elections.

The demonstrations have been more organized than organic, with some of the Democratic Party’s top strategists in Madison and Washington helping to assemble giant crowds. Labor unions, along with the Democratic National Committee and the White House, see this moment as an opportunity to begin rallying troops for the next election.

A test of power, much like the Nazi effort in the Spanish Civil War. Alas, Obama's troops are being slaughtered, and he has turned the populace even further against him, if such a thing were possible. No doubt the last thing he expected was to see his union allies attempt to sue for peace, and to have it turned down by the Republicans so that thay may finish the rout.

Rather than rallying the troops with a victory, Obama will see his army return defeated, exhausted, with their enemies on their tails, taunting them to come back for more. Rather than brightening his prospects for re-election, it seems as if Obama's hopes have dimmed, along with the unions and the Democrats that represent them.

But "bright" is not a word we'd apply to Barack Obama, or the unions these days. Now "dim", well....that's another story...

The Battle of Wisconsin: Picking Winners and Losers

It's early, but not too early, to see how this might play out, if Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and the Republicans hold their ground.

Barack Obama: The Biggest Loser just lost more heft. Instead of keeping his mouth shut, he opened it in support of the rioting union thugs in Madison, and essentially removed all doubt. About where he stands on America's future, and what lies within his heart. He will be unable to double-talk his way around this one, and he will sink to new lows with cement galoshes made in the USA by union labor. Not to mention the repudiation of ObamaCare, the illegality of the Gulf Coast oil-drilling moratorium, and his endless touting of a budget that would be laughed out of a high school mathematics class. Done. Cooked Goose. Fork in him. Over.

Public Sector Unions: Loooooooooooosers. Who will ever believe a teacher again when they claim it is" for the children? Chris Christie stood tall against the NJEA, and
look at the results in the state known as Blue Jersey:

Public opinion of the New Jersey Education Association is a negative 21 to 46 percent, including a negative 23 to 45 percent among parents, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday.

The NJEA is playing a negative role in improving New Jersey schools, residents say 54 to 36 percent, including 56 to 36 percent among parents.

Merit pay for outstanding teachers is a good idea, New Jerseyans say 67 to 28 percent. By a similar 65 to 29 percent margin, voters say it should be easier to fire bad teachers.

And how do they feel about other public service unions?

New Jerseyans support layoffs for state workers 54 to 39 percent, the poll found with Republicans backing the action 66 to 25 percent while independents support it 56 to 38 percent. However, Democrats oppose layoffs 53 to 40 percent. Women support the action 50 to 43 percent while men back it 58 to 35 percent.

New Jerseyans also support other cutbacks to state workers by 63 to 25 percent, including 52 to 33 percent among Democrats, and for furloughs, 78 to 19 percent, including 63 to 31 percent among Democrats, for a wage freeze.

Scott Walker: If he stays firm, winner. Big. See Christie, Chris, in a state as blue as Wisconsin once was:

Christie gets a 52 to 42 percent approval for his handling of the state budget, compared to his overall 51 to 38 percent job approval. He is the only governor or mayor in any state surveyed by Quinnipiac whose approval for handling the state budget is not well below his overall job approval.

Liberalism as an ideology: Relegated to the historical dustbin, with a few flare-ups to be expected, like the mumps, measles, or smallpox. It collapses under its own weight, even if you buy into its dissonant principles:

...the liberal calculus often works out as mostly older white guys wanting their unsustainable pension and benefit payouts while the “other” and the more needy are shorted from receiving proper public attention. Since the states cannot print money and often lose population to other states when they raise taxes, the reality is that the well-off are enjoying perks that younger and private-sector workers lack while social services and the green visions of an Al Gore or a 2008 Obama are defunded.

Not to mention the fact that liberalism has finally lifted up its skirt and shown us their underpants - and they are covered in blood. Someone else's, usually someone who doesn't agree with them. The threats and acts of violence, despite being widely blacked out by the mainstream media, have been clearly noticed by a revolted American populace. This too, they will tie to Barack Obama, who has made it clear this is a battle he supports.

Too early for predictions? Nah. In fact, I'll make one more: While some folks fear these protests can spread nationwide like Greek wildfire, I will assure you of one thing: They will not occur in New Jersey.

Bullies and thugs never pick on anyone their own size...

The Battle of Wisconsin: Profiles In Cowardice

Democrats show their true colors - yellow - as they flee the sate of Wisconsin rather than allow the legislature to vote on Union reforms. They can run, but they can't hide.

Here's one quisling being chased out of Rockford by the citizenry:

Here's
the rest of the crew of cringing chickens:

And here's the folks they are fighting to defend - teachers so smart and brave that the best argument they can make is
comparing their governor to Hitler. Isn't that usually the moment the debate has been lost?

Ironically, it seems as if the 9/11 truthers finally get some vindication - this time, a war has been started - and financed, and encouraged - by an American president for political gain. And like 9/11, we can't choose the wars that are forced upon us.

I pray Scott Walker and the Wisconsin Republicans do not fail their nation now, for if they do, we will turn to Greece by St. Patrick's day.

And incidentally - perhaps Obama would like his cadres to try these shenanigans in New Jersey? What's the matter, Baby Baracky - to scared to take on the Big Dog himself, Chris Christie?

New logo of the Democratic Party

Pussy. C'mon, bring your socialist stichk to Jersey - we dare you....

The Battle of Wisconsin: Obama Gets His Class War

Words have meaning, as the president has oft said, and words can drive folks to acts of madness - or so the media has claimed, in the case of the Tuscon massacre.

So no doubt the "uprising" of the public sector unions in Wisconsin can be attributed to Barack Obama's non-stop class warfare, pitting private sector employees against public (and private) sector unions. GM's legitimate debt holders are given pennies on the dollars as the government bails out the unions fully, while the entire stimulus plan is used essentially to make sure the states can continue to pay their unionized employees. The president sings the praises of organized labor and scrapes before them, exempting them from laws (Obamacare waivers, baby!) that the private sector must obey under penalty of imprisonment, while Congress tries to bankrupt via legislation their non-unionized competition (see Fedex).

So why shouldn't they rise up in disbelief and rage when someone - in this case, Wisconsin Governor Scott - finally says
no more?

The teachers of Madison, Wis., have called in “sick” again, shutting down the schools. Of course, there is no flu, and the only sickness is a nasty unionism, an epidemic of lying.

The teachers in Madison and elsewhere have decided that there will be no more school this week. They have decided that all by themselves. They have simply locked students — whose parents are probably taxpayers — out of their own classrooms.

Most disgusting: the mob that went to Governor Walker’s home. What are they going to do next, cut his dog’s throat?

Well, yeah:

And
Instapundit has pictures of the rally site in Wisconsin, and notes that the teacher's union left a filthy mess behind.

“I attended the Tea Party rally at the Wisconsin State Capitol last year on April 15th, and I did not see a scrap of litter left behind. Participants not only took care to leave no trash of their own, they looked around and made sure no one else did.”

It’s the difference between acting like civilized people, and looters.

Desecration of property, thuggish behavior, threatening of political leaders, denying children the right to education....crimes, perhaps? Nah - President Obama, don't you know,
supports these things:

“Some of what I’ve heard coming out of Wisconsin, where they’re just making it harder for public employees to collectively bargain generally, seems like more of an assault on unions,” Mr. Obama said to TODAY’S TMJ4′s Charles Benson in a one-on-one talk.

“I think everybody’s got to make some adjustments, but I think it’s also important to recognize that public employees make enormous contributions to our states and our citizens.”

Yeah. And so do I, with my tax dollars and charity work and other things I don't need to carry a sign bragging about. But Obama needs an army to win his class war, and he's building one in Wisconsin, one that he hopes will gain strength and give him the illegitimate power he needs to press on with his socialist revolution, including his radically insane budget.

After all, is this not a warning sign to every Republican lawmaker ? "F*ck with us and we're coming to your house, f*ck with us and we'll turn this nation into Greece". Has the teacher's unions in fact fired the first shot in defense of Obama's budget, a shot across the bow to all that will defy him?

That Obama encourages this should finally make clear who and what he really is, and where he intends to take this nation. To war with itself, to achieve his agenda.

That's his "hope", anyway. His and about 25% of America. Let's pray that the firewall we put up in the 2010 midterms can at least slow their advances until the calvery comes in 2012...

Update: Liberal cowardice hits new heights as Obama puts his personal thugs on the front to fight for the unions:

A three-day-long stand-off at the Wisconsin state capitol between union supporters and those backing the Republican governor’s budget cuts just went to another level Thursday as Democratic senators apparently fled the area to prevent a vote on Gov. Scott Walker’s budget-repair bill

Earlier today, law enforcement was sent to find missing Democratic lawmakers, according to a Madison, Wis. ABC affiliate

The Democratic Party’s Organizing for America, the leftover campaign apparatus from the Obama campaign, has entered the fray, filling buses and running phone banks for unions in Wisconsin....

Obama Still Focused Like A Laser On...Destroying Israel

Seems as if Obama has some kind of unique ability to completely shut out the realities of the world around him and move forward as if nothing as changed, even when everything as changed. Responding to the resounding defeat his party took in the 2010 midterm elections by a populace sick of being taxed to death to pay for government spending, he...creates a budget that taxes us to death to pay for even more government spending.
Faced with a Middle East in turmoil, with age-old regimes collapsing from the inside due to socioeconomic and political pressures, what does Obama do? Encourage the dominoes to keep falling, as they teeter in places like Yemen and Iran?

Nah. That would require him to bust out of his intellectual paradigm, to hard a task for a mentally lazy man. Instead, with the world watching, Obama joins the few remaining hardline Arabs and Islamists in taking this moment to...blame Israel:

The U.S. informed Arab governments Tuesday that it will support a U.N. Security Council statement reaffirming that the 15-nation body "does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlement activity," a move aimed at avoiding the prospect of having to veto a stronger Palestinian resolution calling the settlements illegal.

...the U.S. offer signaled a renewed willingness to seek a way out of the current impasse, even if it requires breaking with Israel and joining others in the council in sending a strong message to its key ally to stop its construction of new settlements. U.S. officials were not available for comment, but two Security Council diplomats confirmed the proposal.

The United States has, however, been isolated in the 15-nation council. Virtually all 14 other member states are prepared to support the Palestinian resolution, according to council diplomats. A U.N. Security Council resolution generally carries greater political and legal force than a statement from the council's president.

The U.S. concession comes as the Middle East is facing a massive wave of popular demonstrations that have brought down the leaders of Tunisia and Egypt and are posing a challenge to governments in Algeria, Bahrain, and Iran.

So let's show weakness when we most desperately need to show strength, and decide to "go along to get along" with erstwhile allies, as opposed to having the courage to stand alone on the lonely mountain of righteousness. This is called "smart diplomacy".

Or "feckless cowardice", which is a synonym in the liberal handbook.

Jennifer Rubin:

Because this administration does not want to do what its predecessors did -- exercise the Security Council veto to shield Israel from one-sided resolutions seeking to isolate the Jewish state in the international community -- it instead has offered to join the pack of jackals that seek, at best, to extract concessions and impose a deal on Israel and, at worst, delegitimize Israel.

And not even the leader of the pack, mind you, but some beta male/female in the rear.

From a proud, rich and courageous nation to a poor one, racked with cowardice and opportunism.

Change.

And once again, Barack Obama as Homer Simpson...from "Moaning Lisa":

Bart: Gee Homer, it looks like you've got yourself a real problem on
your hands.
Homer: You're right... Uhh... Bart! Vacuum this floor!
Bart:
Hey Man! I didn't do anything wrong!
Homer: In times of trouble you've got to go with what you know. Now hop to it boy!

Lara Logan

Our heart goes out to her, and our prayers. Her horrific assault at the hands of an Egyptian mob - aka "democracy advocates" - makes one wonder what type of leader will emerge to take the helm of a "New Egypt". An advocate of "liberal governance" in its classic meaning, or a member of a rape gang?

Ace speaks to our inner disgust with the entire region:

On the other hand, goddamn if I am not weary of a barbaric desert nomad culture of rape and outrage while carrying around a ton of chip-on-the-shoulder arrogance-hiding-profound-insecurity about it all.

Oh right, a thousand years ago they invented algebra. So, like, they should keep doing victory laps over that.

But hey - we can live with an nuclear Iranian, no problem! And let's give the Palestinians a state -what could possibly go wrong? And let's lift the blockade of Gaza! And send our ambassador back to Syria! Because it isn't the fanatical, tribal, backward Arab people that are the problem - it's Israel, and the goddamn Jews! Everyone knows that!

And by the way - is anyone still wondering why the Israelis built that f*cking wall?

And when "peace" activists demand that Israel tear it down, is it now not perfectly clear what they wish to subject the Jews to?

And speaking of which:

A network source told The Post that her attackers were screaming, "Jew! Jew!" during the assault. And the day before, Logan had told Esquire.com that Egyptian soldiers hassling her and her crew had accused them of "being Israeli spies." Logan is not Jewish.

Not that it mattered. In the caliphate, you are either Islamic, or inhuman....
